I'm tired, very often devastated by a life of sacrifices. Another long day has passed. How many cigarettes have I smoked today? I don't know, but many, many as usual. At the end of the day my lungs are really dirty, my breathing heavy. I feel exhausted. Maybe I smoke too much? Sometimes I ask myself this bullshit! Naaaaahh. There are never too many cigarettes. There's always room for the last one. And so here it is. The last cigarette of this night. A night too short, as short as this cigarette is, good to kiss and burn in less than three minutes, out of desire, out of passion, because I like it. I smoke the last cigarette before going to bed. Will it really be the last one? I don't know. Usually it's never the last one. And then while I smoke it I think about the first cigarette of tomorrow, the one for waking up, the one for good morning with coffee. Good night, dreamers! My eyes close like this... smoking intensely: full puffs, inhale and exhale, exhalations from the nose, brown filter, black lungs, burning embers. Smoking is the poetry of the soul.

Sono stanca, molto spesso devastata da una vita di sacrifici. Un'altra lunga giornata è passata. Quante sigarette avrò fumato oggi? Non lo so, ma tante, tantissime come al solito. A fine giornata ho i polmoni davvero sporchi, il respiro pesante. Mi sento esausta. Forse fumo troppo? A volte mi chiedo questa stronzata! Naaaaahh. Le sigarette non sono mai troppe. C'è sempre spazio per l'ultima. E allora eccola qua. L'ultima sigaretta di questa notte. Una notte troppo corta, come è corta questa sigaretta, buona da baciare e bruciare in meno di tre minuti, per voglia, per passione, perché mi piace. Fumo l'ultima sigaretta prima di andare a letto. Sarà davvero l'ultima? Non lo so. Solitamente non è mai l'ultima. E poi mentre la fumo penso alla prima sigaretta di domani, quella del risveglio, quella del buongiorno con il caffè. Buona notte, sognatori! Mi si chiudono gli occhi così ... fumando intensamente: boccate piene, inhale and exhale, esalazioni dal naso, filtro marrone, polmoni neri, brace che brucia. Fumare è la poesia dell'anima.
