Hhh… I hate making these posts, but we’ve dropped from 180+ subs to just over 140 in the span of a few weeks.
Of course I can sustain 140 subs - but if the trend of unsubscribes continues at this rate, I’ll be out of shop within the next month and unable to continue doing this as a full time job.
…Or even part time, because if I get a physical job I won’t have time to get gassy for these videos
or spend time managing finances
or recording videos that take weeks
for a business that just isn’t turning over. I have studies to be working on and with a physical job I’d be far too tired to do this on the side as well.
I’m also using this chance to say that it truly sucks that every time Ella takes a little break I lose a tonne of subs practically overnight.
It doesn’t just stress me out - since I’m losing a lot of income and I don’t know how my wallet’s gonna look month to month - but it also stresses Ella out.
She’s super busy with college and work and doesn’t have the time or energy to make videos: yet she feels somehow responsible to make videos for me since my stats plummet every time she doesn’t. It’s not her business, it’s mine. She shouldn’t feel that strain.
There are subs that come back month after month, and for you guys I am insanely grateful. Without you, none of this would happen and I’d have stopped months ago.
I don’t like to make assumptions, but I just can’t ignore the ridiculously obvious trend of…
‘Ella gets super stressed and decides to take a break from a job that’s not even her responsibility to begin with’ > ‘Kota loses 40+ subs overnight and with it goes $300+ for the month’.
I know OF isn’t a particularly stable business as it is, but sometimes it’s really great! We just need the support of loyal subs to keep afloat.
Once I hit 200 subs (if ever) I’d like to bring the subscription price down so more people can sub, and those who stay don’t have to pay as much as a reward for supporting me for so long - but I can’t do that if every time I get close, I lose a load of subs because Ella can’t post every other day. It’s unsustainable.
So please consider continuing to support us, because I don’t know how much longer Ella can deal with the stress - she might just quit making videos entirely… which I know *I* don’t want.
