🕑 Added 2023-08-01 08:52:08 +0000 UTC I was so shocked to learn about this when I started medical school, but the truth is that stem cell transplants are not necessarily a practical solution to curing HIV. Note that all of these patients (the Berlin patient, the London patient, and the Brazil patient) also had specific cancers where the treatment of choice was a bone marrow transplant. In these cases, a bone marrow transplant from a CCR5- donor does appear to be curative when it comes to HIV. Science is fascinating. Have you heard of this before?
