Today is not only Black Friday but also St. Andrew's Day! ✨ This day had a special meaning in our part of Europe. On the evening of St. Andrew's Day Eve, unmarried girls were doing fortune-telling related to marriage - whether they would soon get married, what their future husband's name would be, or from which side he would come 👰.
In Poland, this custom has survived, although it has changed its form. Now St. Andrew's Day is celebrated by both genders at casual parties, where they do some fortune-telling for fun. The most popular fortune-telling is wax pouring - wax from a lit candle is poured through a hole in the key into cold water in a pot 🕯️ The shape of the cooled mass or its shadow cast on the wall tells us what awaits us in the near future! Though the results are treated with a pinch of salt 😉
