INSIGNIFICANT
You got a problem, the most natural and basic one... hunger and thirst. Has been two days you find noone, not a single crumb nor a drop of water... And you searched for those among all the immense house you live in, but nothing. Once again your minuscule size prevent you from taking care of yourself and get what you need… You only had one chance, as always, call your giant friend and ask for his help.
Now, you may think that it should be him providing you at least those things, it doesn’t look like asking much… a drop of water and a crumb would do!
But he’s busy, he got his stuff to do, his own life to carry on and just get his attention if he’s not the one looking for you it’s all but easy.
And so you take the chance he finally enjoy some relax on the sofa, remaining still for awhile. You climb on the nearby table and start waving your arms at him, screaming to the top of your lungs to get his attention.
There was a loud yawn coming from him, but after that the silence of the room allow him to hear you, or so you thought.
That joy when you hear him emit a sound “mmmhh?” simply tilting his foot on a side so that he was able to see you and slightly rise his head from the pillow. It was done! You had his attention, it was hard but your prize was about to come. You wasn’t expecting so much, just food and water, that’s it.
But sadly, all he heard was your weak chirping voice, a buzzing noise for his ears.
His lazy and even sleepy mood could be seen on his face “What?” he cut it short and looks visibly bothered.
You feel bad, just feeling his gaze on you and you try again to explain your reasons and needs “i’m sorry! Didn’t meant to disturb you… it’s just that i really really need to eat and drink something! Dude! Please! i’m starving! Has been days now that i get nothing… please!” you whimper and beg him.
You can see how he just stare at you with a bored expression and soon you guess he couldn’t even properly hear your words. Infact all he could hear was the buzzing noise of your voice and not really distinguish your words enough to understand what you wanted.
Surely he didn’t bothered to check and find out and he snort and just say “Yeah, yeah, whatever… can’t even hear you from here. Can’t you see i’m relaxing and maybe about to take a nap? Listen… Whatever problem you got, it’s insignificant! Just like you are… so stop buzzing around like an annoying mosquitos and be on your way before i decide to move my foot and drop my heel on you, crushing you just like one!”
His words hit you straight into your heart and you stop moving, freezing… shocked by how uncaring he was about your life and problems. Now more then ever you realize how insignificant you are, for him, for the whole world… Knowing he could truly do what he threatened, you just flee and hide, exactly like a bug… the bug you are.
