We're actually happy to share our progression of the game. It may not look so much to you but at least we got the system to works.
You probably think the city not looking so good but let me tell you that the city is random generate! so everyone will get different experience when exploring the city in their game. We're still working on the city blocks but so far, we're happy what we got. I actually did not working on the city, all the handwork goes to Black Cat Studio. The city will be expanding further, this is just progression that we can share with you all.
Base on pictures we provided, The gif is to show the day night cycle works at fountain POI. Then we have a closeup POI and day night cycle on the city sky view. Next we see layout of the city and in that preview is 4x4. It may look small but in game world, it's kinda big. We tried 12x12 but the system is not optimize yet so we revert back to 4x4, still experimenting about the random gen city. Last two photo just a bonus preview of the character size in-game world.
Ah yes! here a report from our programmer Black Cat Studio what he have accomplished.
------------
- About 75% of the city blocks are completely done pending discussion with Kotarou on what else needs added.
- Day/Night cycle was implemented, though needs refinement.
- Lights and fountain on/off was added as part of day/night cycle.
- Cities can be dynamically generated from the selection of pre-created blocks, though needs refinement and optimization.
- I began a Halloween easter egg regarding the graveyard block and the ghost(s) it contain(s) though no further details will be public so that it's a fun event .
Future Plans:
- Discussion with Kotarou on which buildings are missing.
- Finish day/night cycle.
- Finish dynamic generation optimization.
- Finish easter egg, possibly prepare Christmas and other holidays as time permits.
- Clean up Player Character variables and implement data saving system.
- Craft loading screens and cut scenes.
- When ready, implement new character models (this is low priority depending on when they are finished).
Here a showcase seeing the character running around the city.
