LyLaD January Update + Poll Characters
🕑 Added 2024-01-31 21:02:36 +0000 UTCSome new/updated character art above. Shellie, the Lunar Witch, Niphel, and two unnamed fox spirits. There will be a poll including them, and the characters Madison and Dahlia, posted shortly.
The theme being: Characters I've designed for a fat fetish game but haven't drawn fat yet.
For work on LyLaD, I recently went with the decision to port over everything to a blank project so that I can refactor many of the systems piece by piece. This is already underway and has had great results, and also got me started on various things that I was going to put off for later.
Mostly all of it is technical so I won't go into detail. But some new functionality I added in will allow for adding in a variety of random events and encounters wherever I want on existing maps, which I hope will introduce a lot of variation and challenges that players will have to react to. The skeleton for trap functionality which I had put off before now is also in place, and will also fold in with the random event spawning too, meaning traps may not be found in the same place every time.
Past that, this has mainly been for me to make better sense of a lot of the junk I put into the game, make it more orderly to work with and tweak, and just perform more efficiently.
Current progress on this has reincorporated:
Map traversal and visuals
Dot interactions
Parameters (attributes, skills, other stats)
Quick Menu
Ledger Menu
Attribute/Skill Point Allocation Menus
(This has all been done over the past 2 weeks)
For the order of business to reimplement everything else, see the last image of the set.
(X = finished, # = in-progress)
I foresee this taking about a month or two more, mostly because I'm going to want to expand or add new stuff along the way. But when this is all done, basically all of the underlying systems I want will finally be done and I can move on to really creating the demo as the first attempt at putting it all in motion. So I'm now aiming for Summer when it comes to getting said demo out.
