🕑 Added 2024-09-07 08:00:04 +0000 UTC00:00:00 - Intro
00:00:42 - What is the equivilant real-life ship to the USS Enterprise NCC-1701?
00:05:10 - If the purchase had been approved by the chiliean governement, would the Almirante Latorre have been of any use in the pacific campaign or would it have been a big waste of money?
00:09:58 - Had the South American economy not crashed and the dreadnought race continued, assuming the three countries get more involved in WW1, how would their fleets have impacted the war?
00:16:04 - Was there indeed an actual "Vickers 14 inch salesman"? Im aware it's a joke but there's often a bit of truth to them
00:21:12 - What is the worst warship CONCEPT you can think of? Not in the sense the design is bad but in the sense that the ship’s intended purpose makes no sense whatsoever.
00:24:15 - Opposite of the previous, what innovation is the biggest leap forward for warships?
00:26:33 - What gave an Age of Sail ship good sailing qualities?
00:33:07 - If the Austro-Hungarian empire had not done the sensible thing and collapsed, do you think it would have had any naval presence further throughout the first half of the 20th century?
00:37:27 - If we assume Jackie Fisher never became First Sea Lord, what would have happened to the "miser's hoard of useless junk" he ordered scrapped or placed into reserve? Would they, God forbid, have been pushed into service in WW1 and if so, where?
00:44:32 - Internal river patrol craft?
00:47:50 - When did ships become more expensive to build as opposed to maintain?
00:52:53 - Stairs on the sides of ships?
00:56:03 - During the Pacific War, technology for encrypting voice communications over radio quite simply did not exist but the language barrier and short-range nature of such transmissions made it difficult to interpret captured communications in a timely manner. Did the US Navy ever use Japanese-Americans to get past this language barrier or was this considered too much of a security risk?
00:58:18 - Candidates for the worst shots in naval history?
01:00:49 - Back before carriers were taken seriously was there any thought given/designs drawn up for putting torpedo battleship type numbers of torpedo tubes on a carrier to go with the 8 inch guns?

The Rogue Chief
I still say the worst warship concept is the battlecarrier— sure it’d look awesome in an anime, but it’s basically a setup where it’s trying to fulfill two different roles and proving inept at both

OMG the stairs reminded me of a funny love story. Leaving the port on ships boat . A sailor decided he was in love, wanted to stay and jumped overboard. Two chiefs had to go over after him. The port was full of small jellyfish, so they were all stung when they brought him back on boat and when dragging him up the stairs. somehow he hit his head on every step. Question do you know of more comical lovesick tales such as this?
