I could also totally go for a series of such glow-ups, if you wanted to explore that at your leisure. For this particular character, I can envision her earlier phase of dreary days and drudgery, commuting through smoggy urban decay, juxtaposed with her latter days of rejuvenating recreation in a vibrant tropical backdrop worthy of a postcard. "Gray, dry and muted", vs "vibrant, wet, and scintillating."
