Modding Diary - Pap Smear

HI guys! I hope you all are well.
It's been two weeks since I post my last WIP update, last week I spent most of my time fixing bugs, and really didnt have much to show 😩
But I was able to finish the pap smear animation this week!🥰
Here is what the animation looks like:
your sim will approach the exam table with the doctor
your sim will get on the exam bed and the doctor will sit down at the end of the bed
obviously in the final version your sim will take their pants off, but they are wearing pants today because I havent gotten to that part yet 😅
the doctor will explain the procedure a little bit
and she will then take out a speculum
and ask your sim to take a deep breath
she will then insert the speculum
after that she will grab the colposcope and take a look to make sure everything looks good
she will then take out a sampling broom
and do a swab
she will then place the sampling broom inside the sampling cup
the doctor will then take the speculum out
and let your sim know that the procedure is complete
and that's what I have for this interaction.
Since Im not adding cancer to the game, the only thing pap smear can detect will be HPV, which is a common sti, according to my research 40% of people have some type of HPV and most do not cause any health problems nor require any treatment. so most of the time your sim will be fine even if they are positive for HPV, in rare occasions they will need treatment which will be just oral medication for now, and if I have more time in the end I will create some type of ointment or cream for better realism.
Next week I will get started with the pitocin drip which I am very excited about!

From what I read online it seems Papsmear can’t detect endometriosis tho 🤔
I have endometriosis so that would be amazing to see in game.

I appreciate very much that it would be a separate mod IF you did it. I LOVE your Childbirth Mod! Sims for me, while battling cancer has been an escape, a place I do not have to think about my weekly visit to the doctor, the emotions that I struggle with and so much more. Sims has saved me from severe anxiety giving me a mental escape and brought so many wonderful people in my life. I could never add a mod like that in my game because it would be extremely counterintuitive. Anyway....just my little opinion and thank you so much for bringing my game to life!! 💕💕💕

I agree! it’s just if I were ever to do it it would be a separate mod from the child birth mod, and it’s going to be a big project that requires my full attention since I’ll have to consider things like cancer symptoms and treatment, so it’s just not something I can commit to right now since I’m mainly focused on the child birth mod 🙏

So I know you said you weren’t going to add cancer to the game but I wanted to offer you a second perspective. Cancer is some thing that happens to everyone. It’s sad and some people may not like it but you could turn the option off but on the other hand, if you added uterine cancer, if you added breast cancer, it would help make awareness for going and getting regular pelvic exams. I lost a friend I. Her twenties to stage four uterine and breast cancer. A friend who had no idea how important it was to get exams and tests for those things yearly. It would be a good way to spread awareness on the issue, and also not all stories we tell with the sims are happy ones. Some people use it to cope or retell what happened to them. Idk to me it might be a good thing more than a bad thing.
