Modding Diary - Weaning

Hi Guys! I hope you all are doing well!
As you know I normally post my WIP updates on Friday, and this morning I was very surprised to find out today is actually Saturday and not Friday 😅needless to say it's been a little bit of a chaotic week.
This week I worked on finalizing the breastfeeding animation, and I'm pretty much done with the weaning system, and here is how it works:
when your sim is ready, you may click on your toddler and select "Start Weaning"
you will be give two choices as to which method of weaning you want to go with
regardless of which option you choose, your sim will get one of five moodlets signaling the beginning of this new chapter in their life:
if you choose to do it gradually, you may still breastfeed your toddler, but you will only do so for 5-8 minutes at a time, and eventually the option to breastfeed will disappear as your sim's lactation stops. Weaning gradually will prevent your toddler from having potential meltdowns and it should make it less likely for your sim to develop mastitis (still need to work on this).
if you choose to quit "cold turkey", you will no longer have the option to breastfeed your toddler.
and you will have to option to explain to your toddler why it time for weaning
you can either make up an excuse, or just tell them they are too big for "nana" now.
nana is the nick name im using for boobies, I hope its a common nickname but if you have a better one please let me know.
using the "nana got a booboo option as an example", your toddler is likely to react like a reasonable human being, and just move on.
during then next three days they might occasionally share comments or concerns they may have about the weaning process depending on which explanation you gave them
however there's also a chance your toddler might take the news very well and start having a meltdown instead. This is more likely to happen to clingy and fussy toddlers.
they will get one of five moodlets immediately after hearing the bed news
and they might occationally get one of six moodlets throughout the next three days to express how utterly disappointed they are
And that's about all I have for this week, I didnt want to show you
and that's all I have for this week, I hope this weaning feature was able to bring a smile to your face, I had a lot of fun making it.
Next week I will work on finalizing the weaning system, and making sure it works nicely with the lactation system.

no,I tested in game just now they shouldn't react at all, you might have some kind of mods that's causing them to get moddlets

This is just a question, but have children always gotten the react into nudity or embarrass Moodlet when watching a person pump

Instead of using "nana" to explain to the infant/toddler no more breastfeeding, could you say "no boobie" or "no mama's milk" and instead ask for "baba" (bottle) or "cup" (for sippy cup}? If you keep nana it's not a big deal, but just a suggestion. Either way, it looks great so far.

Love it! I actually like the idea of generic responses rather than specific ones, as the generic ones fit better for different playing styles! For example "Come up with an age-appropriate excuse" or "Tell the truth flat out" so the player can sort of have their own idea of what the sim says.

Nana and baba are words I used for my grandmothers, so I would be uncomfortable using them in regards to breastfeeding. What about tatas?

Wow, that's amazing! It's wonderful and just great. Nana is actually the common one, that's what most people say, at least in Germany. ;). My daughter always said Minna, no idea why. The sad moodlett: I don't want to be a big boy anymore, just spontaneously brought tears to my eyes. *laughs* I'll always take the gentle one. ;) I'm super excited to have that in game! *heart eyes* Thank you for your hard and loving work on this mod. :)

This is too cute! I just feel like people would confuse Nana for grandma. In my house we said chichis or tetas! I feel like teetees or nippies(like nipples) could work.

I love this! Just wanted to point out a small typo, the pop up about stopping breastfeeding is missing “to” after decision. The weaning process moodlets are soooo cute and I can’t wait for this update! Maybe call breasts “babas”?

Omg this is gonna be awesome! Love your mods. Nana is referred as grandma to us Brits not sure if others use it also. Tatters could be a suggestion "Mummy's "tatters" got a booboo, and is now broken" Or maybe create ur own unique word as that'd work too.

First of all this is amazing, as usual! But I just said "nurse" for breastfeeding, I didn't do baby talk. But if I called them anything to my babies it was chichis. (Pronounced Chee-cheez) That's pretty typical in the Spanish speaking community or Latin Americans in general about anyone's chests. Like no you can't have that white bikini it'll show your chichis. Or even to boys like, omg Tony put on a shirt, ain't nobody tryin to see your chichis like that. Lol
