Modding Diary - Fainting Partner

Hi guys! I hope you all had a great week!
This week I started working on adding the possibility to have partners faint during childbirth 🤭 This is something I have wanted to add for a long time but kept forgetting.
Partner sims might now faint while accompanying the pregnant sim during childbirth(C-section,Natural birth and water birth)
When they do faint, they will suddenly stand up and walk away from the birthing sim
touch their head as they start to get woozy
then drop to the floor and pass out for 25-30 sim minutes
I still need to finalize this part but they should have a 5% chance of passing out, however the chances are much higher if they have the Squeamish trait or are hungry and tired.
they might also get this moodlet after they wake up
and if they are the romantic partner they will get one of 4 moodelts like this (2 for C-section and 2 for regular birth)
They might also get one of three sad moodlets
I am also thinking about adding a milestone for sims who faint, but im not sure if that will be over doing it lol but I do feel like fainting while witnessing childbirth is something a person would remember for the rest of their lives.
I would also like to add moodlets for the birthing sim who might find the situation to be amusing.
On an unrelated note I also added the "join" interaction so that you can manually make the partner join the birth if they don't react to it automatically.
And that is about all I have for this week.
I continued to learn learning python this week and it's going pretty well. The tutorial by LeRoiDeTout is very in depth and it has answered so many of the questions I had. Next week I will be going through his last tutorial which I am very excited about. This is not to say I will be graduated and start writing my script, in fact I will probably be far from it. I just hope I will get to a place where I can look at the code other modders have written and finally be able to understand them and learn from them. 💞

Is there a way to disable fainting? I really want my sim to be there for his wife. Both he AND I would be sad😭haha hope you’re having an amazing day!!

But it can be thoughts of not feeling they’d be a good mom, or scared to be, thoughts of being alone or a single mother, thoughts of suicide because that does partake in pre or postpartum depression. Or after when she gave the child like harder for sum to get up out of bed and active, feel like herself again, weight making her feel big like she isn’t popping back fast enough. lol I think that’ll take work but I think it’s a good idea for you and what you do. lol only if I knew how to make mods 😂 lol but that’s all. You do so great with your mods as well. 🫶🏽

Hey hey love ! So I think what I’m about to ask for will maybe have to be a whole different mod and may take time if you choose to do this one BUTTTT I really want one that focusses on pre and postpartum depression after or while pregnant. Maybe it can be a trait but then we’d have to take it out after pregnancy or after we feel we don’t want her to be depressed no more after she has her baby.

O.M.G... 🤩I have a squeamish sim right now and I can totally see him being the type to faint during childbirth, its perfect! I have some time before I plan for it to happen in game so 🤞it will be in an update before then. Also the milestone if you get a chance would be great, I agree its something you wouldn't forget. Will they be able to faint during home births too? I was really hoping to finally go homebirth for my next one (haven't gotten the chance to do that yet) but if its multiples and/or if this is only for in hospital to start with I will have to reconsider. Keep up the good work ❤️
