what about a longer hospital stay nurse comes in and checks for stats dilation and stuff like that maybe even a monitor for contractions and heartbeats for mom and baby?

So, I'd be thrilled with just the cleaner animation, and a better reaction from doc and accompanying sim ☺. Maybe different moodlets for hates children/self absorbed/timid sims afterwards.

I know this is a hard thing to accomplish to begin with. This has always been something I wanted in the game. I hated the goofy animations, so many people already don't know what childbirth entails, and instead of creating something EA safe and realistic they have this goofy, blocky animation.

Bless you for doing this! The give birth animations have been broken in game for about 8 months now, and it's so depressing. Literally all the "surgery" animations are broken and will throw animations LEs. EA should fix this themselves, but I'm excited to see your more realistic animations as those will make for amazing gameplay screenshots without having to use poses! Not sure if this could added to the more realistic birth project you're working on or if it would count as a separate one, but I would love to see active prenatal appointments that the sims partner could accompany them to. A rabbit hole version to go along with it would also be amazing, would just love the active version for realistic storytelling!

Omg I will probably pause my game story to wait for this mod! 😮 lol. Waited for lumpinou divorce and custody one. I can slowly progress the story. Lol. So excited. And if only ea could fix that bug ! Maybe no one has mentioned it. Maybe many of us birth at home ?

How about the give birth at home option. I very rarely go to the hospital because of the loading screens. Is there a way they can birth in a bed at home? I hate the standing at the bassinet animation! You could probably just clone the info from the surgery table and have a bed that can be at home, maybe with a midwife at the foot of it? Just an idea. Thanks for all you do! Your work is always amazing!!

PandaSama, you are taking on something huge and I admire you much for it. With your talent and imagination I am loooking forward to something great ... though I am not surprised that it´s bugged and unfixed by EA, sigh. That makes your work definitely harder. Take all the time you need. And maybe you can not only reach out to Lumpinou with Woohoo wellness but also adeepindigo with her healthcareredux - that has pregnancy complications that would fit in great with a birthing mod. Don´t hesitate to reach out to the other modders. You are the only one with the courage to take that on and I am sure all will be glad to help because all want it to be successful. I can only join the others with the features included - but no matter what, I pull off my hat for you (A german saying to communicate respect). Take care.

For the accompanying sim: I would give them multiple reactions to the birth, I.e.: cheering on the sim giving birth, possibly being uncomfortable at the sight of it (dare I say? Some would pass out even). I think they could have so many moodlets with varying emotions like confident from cheering the sim on or uncomfortable because the birth makes them uncomfortable. For the birthing process itsself: I definitely would love to have multiple birthing options in the vain of your standard hospital birth, a c-section and probably the one I’m most interested in: a full on natural birth with no drugs, a midwife for support & the most exciting it for me, a birthing tub, aka the type of births you would see at a birthing center, something akin to this in other words: https://ts4-poses.tumblr.com/post/186421484068/water-birth-posepack. Now, naturally this would be in the hospital it’s self, but I feel that compromise is very much worth it. I also think the other parent should be involved in the discussions of which varying option is the best. And Finally, for the mod development it’s self: so, I have no idea if I am overstepping here, but in anycase? I think you should look into maybe reaching out to lumpinou aka the creator behind wohoo wellness & pregnancy overall mod. If anyone would know about anything relating to the birthing process, it would be them. Especially, because this potential mod & wohoo wellness are a match made for each other & I feel like both of y’all together could definitely make some serious sim birthing pregnancy magic. In anycase, I’m very excited for this mod & can’t wait to see what you cook up🤗

I'm so in awe of your work, you're really talented! Maybe something like stages of labour? I don't know if that's something you can do, but in the Sims the ladies just go to the hospital and immediately go give birth, but irl there's sometimes hours in between where check ups are needed and sometimes induction needs to be given to speed things up, or pain meds etc. I don't know if that's too complicated, but it might be cool to make it a bit more realistic? Maybe even complications can arise and you can choose if you want to be induced, have surgery or keep going naturally?
