Modding Diary - Bluetooth stethoscope π

Hope you all had a great week! For those of you who missed my last modding diary: the home birth update will be released in the first week of October!
This week I worked on adding the stethoscope interaction and check dilation interaction.
it all started out very well, the code(tunings) was working nicely, and I was working on the animation, thinking this will be done in no time.
until I tested the animation in game and saw this in game:
the chest-piece part of the stethoscope doesnt know where its supposed to go and is floating in the air D :
Some of you might remember me mentioning IK(inverse kinematics) in a previous post, basically it is a system that helps the sims hands to know where to go in relation to their body or another sims body. However objects do not have IK, so in this case the chest-piece is floating in the air because it doesnt know where the other sim's stomach is. I can manually attach the chest piece to the sims hand but the ear piece will then float in the air since the two are connected by the tubing.
after giving it some thought I came to the conclusion that the only way I can make this work is to remove the tubing and turn the stethoscope into two separate pieces π
so when you click on the midwife and select "check on the baby"
they will listen to the baby's heartbeat with a high-tech Bluetooth stethoscope. I know it looks slightly ridiculous but that's the best I can do for now lol
after they check the baby's heartbeat you will a notification, here are a few examples
right now the baby's heart rate doesn't have an actual effect on the game play, but in the next major update I plan on adding emergency birth situations where if the baby's heart rate is too slow you might need go to the hospital and get an emergency c-section.
I also worked on the checked dilation interaction. After initiating the interaction both the pregnant sim and the midwife will find a place to sit down
(there will be censors in the final version)
you will then get a notification saying how many centimeters you are.
next week I will work on:
- Finishing the dilation interaction
- Fix an LE im getting after calling the midwife.
- get started on the "relax in birth pool" interaction
Once again the home birth update will be released in the first week of October!

No unfortunately it disappeared after birth. It was not in the hopital crib like usual and it was not added to the family.

You are brilliant. I actually like your solution to the stethoscope problem. That is genius. I was in the hospital over the weekend with my daughter, who was having her first baby. She brought her ball with her. So she and her husband would get up and walk around, then she would come back and sit on the ball for a bit; he would sway with her etc. I thought about your mod and how true to life it actually is! You may have created the most true-to-life mod there is!

The baby should be added to the household automatically, do you not see the baby after going home?

This mod is great and creates a new level of experiences for the game! Only question is I don't know what happened to the sim that gave birth at the hospital then went home without her baby? Am I missing where the baby should be added or claimed before going home?

I did have a suggestion if not its quite alright as this mod is essential for my gameplay. By any chance would you be open to sims going to like a birthing center instead of the hospital?
