Modding Diary - Moodlets, Moddlets, Moodlets! (and babies)

hope you guys had a fantastic week!
This week, with the help of the wonderful bjorndaunicorn I was able to create a bunch of early labor moodlets. The early labor stage feels alot more interactive comparing to how it was before
For example the game will now track whether or not your sim has given birth before, and whether they are giving birth at home or at the hospital.
this moodlet for water breaking is for a sim who has given birth before and is currently giving birth at home
and this one is for a sim who has given birth before and is currently giving birth at the hospital
and this is for a sim who has never given birth and is currently giving birth at home
when your sim is going through early labor they will get moodlets like this once a few hours, this is supposed to simulate contraction pains, but unlike real life, I can't make each contraction only last minutes because of how fast time goes by in the game, otherwise the moodlet will be gone before you even get the chance to read it lol
when contraction moodlets appear, doing any kind of early labor activity will help the moodlet to go down
In this case Vivian is doing some exercise on the birth ball
and the moodlet quickly decreases
and it replaced by a positive moodlet
if she didnt do any activities to manage her pain, she will get a negative moodlet like this one once the contraction timer runs out
however she can still do activities to help the negative moodlet decrease faster
in this case shes getting a massage from her partner
the moodlet decreases quickly and will eventually disappear
when a sim is at the final stage of early labor they will get this moodlet
if they do an early labor activity it will put them in a positive mindset for the birth
and if they dont it will put them in a negative mindset
Hopefully the early labor experience will feel more interesting and make early labor activities more meaningful instead of them being just a way to increase dilation.
Once again a huge thank you to the wonderful bjorndaunicorn for drafting these. So far I have made 40 moodlets and I'm still not finished lol

Would you prefer the baby to be born with or without diapers?
Babies are born with diapers because that's what EA had, but I can change that and make them born without diapers. I would also like to add more details to their faces so that they look less like plastic dolls. however this change will only affect their looks during birth, it will not affect how they look when they are in the bassinet.

This is my fave mod by far but i would love an animation of baby in a car seat when leaving the hospital x

+1 to this, yeah. I know we only get to see a small sample of the moodlets (and they are fantastic so far!) but I want to be sure they're balanced - even if it's random which one your sim gets, because you can never know how you'll really feel in the moment. For example, the "given birth before, giving birth in hospital" moodlet in the post is a Scared moodlet. While home births may be trendy right now, and I know lots of people have had bad hospital experiences, plenty of people wouldn't be comfortable anywhere else. My first birth was complicated and I very likely wouldn't be here today if I hadn't already been in the hospital, so I would be having Scared moodlets about home birth. As long as there is a positive AND negative option for each birth method I'll be happy.

I know you can't show all the options of moodlets because a) more fun to be surprised for some and b) over 40!! Holy cow! :) I just want to make sure there are positive and negative for both home and hospital births. My cousin has had all hers at home and it was wonderful for her, but I work in the NICU and have been in on many emergencies because of things that went wrong with home births. There's good and not as good for both, just want to make sure the moodlets are balanced. Thank you for all your work on this mod, it really is amazing what you've done with it! I can't seem to make paragraph breaks on my phone, I apologize for the big block of text.

Do we get a midwife to come to the house also is it only water birth or can they stand and have the baby
Is the home birth only for one baby or is it more then one also
