Modding Diary- having one of those weeks :/

The good news this week is I fixed the bassinet bug I was having last week where the baby would only spawn in the hospital bassinet
now they spawn in the regular bassinets
aaaand that's about the only thing that worked according to plan this week lol
I made a poll asking what type of birth position you guys preferred besides water birth, and the vast majority picked "birth on hands and knees on the bed" and "partner will deliver the baby" which is something I was very excited to work on, however I was having one of those weeks where nothing was working properly. I spent most of the week trying to make the interaction work on the bed but I encountered nothing but bugs after bugs 🐛🐛🐛💀
finally I had to use my backup plan because I do not want to spend more time being stuck.
so instead of initiating the interaction from the bed, you will need to find this "birth pillow" from build and buy and place it on the bed manually
when your sim is ready to give birth you just need to click on the pillow to give birth. the pros for using a birth pillow is that I would not need to override any game files which means its less likely to conflict with other mods and less likely to break with each patch. the the con is that Im worried alot of people are not gonna read the release post and be confused why their sim cant give birth when clicking on the bed, but that just means I will spend some extra time on mod support, which is fair tradeoff.
your sim will still look like they are giving birth on the bed, its just the interaction is tied to the pillows instead of the bed itself. the partner sim will then come over and help your sim deliver the baby(excuse the clipping in the arms as I still need to work on the animations)
I will work on the animation next week and I will have some nice screenshots to show you guys. im really hoping to make the animation as intimate as possible, im thinking about making the partner sim get on the bed help the pregnant sim push in various positions then finally have them give birth when they are on their hand and knees. the skin to skin contact will also be alot better since the partner will actually be able to directly interact with the baby and the birthing sim. 😍

Oh I see. Well the hospital birth is embedded to the clinic venue so I don’t think there’s anything you can to enable the hospital birth on a different lot, it’s still to early to say for the home birth, but there is a possibility that you might be able to do the home birth option on a different lot
I have LittleMsSam's mod - "More Buyable Venues and new Venue Types". So I have several "Medical Clinic" venues from which I would like to choose.

I am so excited about this! I had to take the whole mod out of my game because the update made it so buggy! My sims were getting stuck pushing out the baby!! I cannot wait! You are awesome!!

That looks wonderful. And the birthing pillows is a fine idea and workaround especially concerning avoiding the breaking of the mod. And, honestly, I am fed up with people to lazy to read instructions of a mod - that is not on the creator that is on the player to read instructions and follow them. Other modders hide the dowloand link in the text to force people to read the text (oh, the horror) or as mentioned above put a Read Me in the file. If they do not read it is on them not you. You are not our clown and nanny and yes, you are paid by us but that in no way makes you our servant. Take care 😊❤

I love this mod so much, but I am sorry it is giving you fits at the moment. Hopefully, the choppy water will calm down for you modders. By the way, I love the pillow idea. This way you can use any bed. Great Idea!

Yes! I finally got to play with the new hospital interactions last week and they were wonderful (you turned Don the Lothario himself into an ultra supportive birth partner, congrats lol). I cannot wait to get my hands on this!

Amazing work as always! Can't wait! Perhaps when making the zip file put a text file in there letting people know to use the pillow. Idk about anyone else but I always read the "READ ME" text file to make sure I'm doing everything correct.
