Thanks for summing it up. I still doubt how far inflation is related to supply chain issues. Is solving those not the primary solution for the current inflation?

Nice post Tom, thank you for sharing. Math error in this sentence below I believe? We *subtract the 2% inflation target here, not add it as you suggest. The 2% inflation target would be a negative impact on Taylor rule required rate hikes. That is 8.7% - 1.5%, not 9-12%. “So if inflation rose from 1.2% percent to 7% percent, interest rates should rise by 8.7%, that is before adding in the 2% for inflation target and 1% for long term real rate of interest, so with our current inflation figures, the FED needs to raise interest rates to anywhere between 9% and 12%, which is very close to the interest rates we had in the early 1980s.”

But who would purchase long term low interest government bonds?

Most of the oil companies have hit highs. Do you still think there is more room to run up? It looks like they aren't adding new rigs or exploring as much with their green agenda.

Energy sector is going to be a big winner in 2022 imo

yep

What do you think Tom? I, for instance, have around 30% cash available and will personally wait for the March meeting, as this will also include the updated inflation data. Energy will probably push inflation higher.
