Funny. I would imagine the communication problem is more widespread than just Alibaba. I would think 3-times before ordering anything of value direct from China. Good to hear your exhaust system worked out well. Land rover and China, I know there was a booming grey market , for a time, for new Land Rovers to be purchased by proxy buyers in the US for the real buyers in China, since direct sales were not allowed. Bizarre.

I’ve only ordered one thing direct from China and it was a large item, an entire Range Rover exhaust system. I received it via overnight shipping and it was even better than expected. I’m super curious now that you mention having a bad experience with the less expensive items, if this is just an Alibaba thing.

Yep no surprise there. 6 months ago I tested Aliexpress (BABA) with a order for 10 inexpensive items, not a good experience. Yes the gadgets were cheap and interesting, those that got delivered, but the Chinglish and web communications were tortuous. They have years to go before the American market would accept them en masse. I had one good experience buying 'direct' from China. A $1,000.00 ebike motor/battery kit, but that was through a California website, who was a reseller, got the product in two days, no problems communication or otherwise. BTW where is Jack?

NIO is safe.. for now.. they are more or less owned by the Chinese governement since early 2019 and have NIO on a tight leash!.I do not think Bin Li will start talking trash about the chinese government, like Jack Ma has done. Li knows he is owned by the CCP.

As an Australian, I will say do not invest in Chinese Stocks. Believe me. There is no proper over sight. Auditors don't have the kind of access there that they do in the US.
