Chapter - 11: Typhon vs Rose part -2
-----------
"You will be able to hold your own against Gilotina in terms of qualification. You have at least a century of experience. And can you even survive a blow from me in the first place?" I asked before pushing the last nutrition bar into my mouth and swallowing it with a big bite.
She did not seem bothered by my words, in fact she seemed amused as she raised her finger to her chin and tapped it a few times, "Well, I am considered one of the best hand-to-hand fighters in the world. Trained by the best (Slade). So I know what I'm doing if that's what you're asking.... Even that bitch Gilotina can only admit my martial arts skills and I also know how she trains people since we fought a few times, unless you have some experience, she will eat you alive." Her warned me, but I could not stop myself from sneering in response.
The training had helped dampen the impulses, but only a little. I also felt myself merging more and more with my Saiyan state of being that was making the impulses come more and more naturally. I wasn't sure how to feel, but I didn't have time to feel too tense or worried.
Only time will tell whether it turned out to be a good thing or a bad thing.
"I'm sure I could survive easily enough," I replied with a confident smile before he fell and sighed, "But my physical strength far exceeds Gilotina if I lose control for any reason I could really kill you."
"I'm sure I could survive, Typhon," hee said with some obvious annoyance. "But I see what you mean."
"Hmm... all right then," Rose finally said after a moment of self-reflection. "Let's do that after all." With a sly smile, she winked and reached into the depths of her spandex, retrieving a small object that shone in the light.
I could only watch as she deftly tossed it in my direction, and I snatched it out of the air without a second thought. As I examined the object I was holding at this moment, I felt a faint heat emanating from its surface." Is this an artifact or something?"
The object itself was a simple piece of jewelry, a round bracelet made of gleaming red-black metal and studded with bright yellow stones on the sides.
"Put it on." She gestured with the palm of her free hand.
"What is this? ..." I examined the object even more closely. I touched the center of the bracelet. The crystal inside flashed red and produced a slight buzzing sound that sounded almost like the sound of chains being pulled, "It looks too suspicious ... What are you trying to do?"
Rose shrugged casually. "You wanted a balanced sparing, didn't you? ~~ The object in question was built by Hamilton these days following several of Gilotina's directives. It is built on the principles of Apokolips technology, it should perform its intended function admirably. Some kinds of people use it in his world for training from what he said."
"... You still haven't told me what it does," I couldn't help but ask.
"Just put it on. Maybe you don't trust me?" her asked with a smile, but you could sense some seriousness in her words.
"..."
My eyebrows could only furrow at his words. Despite my attempts to use Ki. To try to decipher the mysterious object in question, it was met with nothing helpful, leaving me quite puzzled.
Despite my initial skepticism, eventually with a small deep sigh, I slipped it on my wrist, feeling the cold metal and smooth stones against my skin. "Fine, but I'll find out what this thing really does later. I don't trust it one bit..."
Rose arched an eyebrow at his words, her expression betraying a trace of amusement. "Oh, later? Why wait? You'll find out soon enough~~"
As the bracelet clasp clicked into place, a wave of chaotic energy coursed through my veins. While I could feel being locked by an invisible force pulling me downward, it was still very weak.
"Mhm?" I commented, finding it a little difficult to move the muscles of my whole body, I felt completely different from before. "I feel much heavier than before and my body is harder to move."
"The bracelet was made to increase the wearer's weight to a certain extent, making it a perfect workout for you and a good handicap for me~~" . replied Rose with obvious good humor.
"Unbelievable..." I could only comment with a big smile growing on my lips. It really was the perfect object for me that I would abuse as much as possible "How many maximum tons can it go? And how do you adjust this thing?
"And connected with your mind, regarding the heavy weight even Gilotina wasn't sure, she just said that even the strongest new gods might have difficulties if you overdo the weight set."
"Oh" this news was very good for many different reasons. But at that time I had a fight scheduled that I could not delay. So without delaying even more I decided to try to increase the weight of the object in question by 100x.
And as a result my body simply became very difficult to move, but not too *Well* But at the same time, my body was quivering with excitement as I could feel my blood getting warmer as a result.
"I was sure you would like it, you have to thank Lilith and Gilotina also helped to make it happen," she laughed before getting up and hooking her thumb over her shoulder, "Let's go over there. I'm sure you've seen the sparring grounds?"
I nodded as I walked beside Rose, we both entered the ring, and she looked at me with a wary gaze, "Even if just sparring... Don't you dare go easy on me, are we clear?
I nodded at her serious words, I knew well that she had a pride that touched the sky in that she was very much like me that's why I liked both her and Lilith had personalities I liked and of course their physical appearance was not to be ignored.
"But try not to fry my face all of a sudden, okay?"
"Sure," I smiled, knowing exactly what it was. It was a spar. But it was also a fight, no matter how casual Rose wanted to make it seem, I knew she definitely didn't want to lose this fight either.
I wouldn't want to go through with it even if I had the choice. After all, this was going to be the first fight I had had since I got here. My blood felt like it was going to boil out of my body, and my heartbeat increased as I felt whatever fatigue in my body evaporate into nothingness.
I could feel my body heavy and at the same time My Saiyan instinct, for one of the first times, was let loose completely. Rose could handle it. If she couldn't? The medical ward was not too far from here.
"Ready--" she almost came out before I exploded the force, driving with a frontal punch as if I were a certain Hanma from a certain anime with red hair and a battle handle.
Rose didn't seem at all surprised by my actions as she pivoted on her foot, dodging the punch, but I knew the attack wouldn't hit her. Out of nowhere or what, she had been a mercenary since she was a child.... Besides if someone trained by Slade was caught off guard like that.
I would be extremely disappointed...
I followed my momentum and instead of rolling my fist back I charged with my whole body as if I were a tank, without any fear of potential injuries I might suffer or anything like that.
I could feel my mind getting colder and colder as I focused on my opponent more and more trying to find new ways to completely destroy her with overwhelming force.
I had never been so fluid before. But now everything flowed through me as if I were a channel for some greater being. My body followed my commands as if on autopilot, despite the frenzy in my head, my thoughts were precise and ruthless.
Rose showed her expertise and dove under my body before responding to the attack with an uppercut aimed right at my chin.
I was not a strong fighter in my past life. I simply started going to the gym as a physical hobby with some friends of mine. I had some successes in Boxing that amounted to some sparring with people who would become really good fighters unlike me.
When I saw Rose's counter. My body moved on its own, reflexes screaming and muscles doing it. I was thinking of dodging and so I did. My head tilted back and the fist passed in front of my chin.
Without looking, I pulled out an uppercut of my own. But Rose was no longer in her position. And suddenly I felt an impact at my side and responded with an elbow that grabbed her shoulder and made her grunt as she took a few steps back.
I looked at her out of the corner of my eye and smiled; DC peak humans are really a different race from humans, huh? *Sigh* Batman... Basically superhumans in their own right. Without much thought, I charged her again and brought her back with a punch.
There were obvious differences between us. I was physically superior and she had technical superiority alongside superior combat experience. Which is what allowed her to tilt her head just a fraction out of the way of my spiked ball-like punch.
