Chapter - 9: Ki Control
-------------
Sweat was dripping from my forehead to my face to the floor. Because of the effort I was putting into my workout. It had been a week and a few days since I had entered the gym for the first time, and I had stuck to my thoughts that day and spent most of my time here ever since.
Each day was a day of growing and pushing my limits to try to understand the potential of this new body of mine to the fullest possible extent
But ha unlike expected the pain in my body was almost nothing--overly resistant like that of a Saiyan and the burning sensation? It simply took on an almost pleasant sensation....
Almost. But the act of training made me happy. It really was, at least for me. In theory I should go out of my mind, but for the first time since I came to this universe, I took it into consideration and accepted it very easily.
After all, you can't hope to survive in a place like this without sacrificing some things that are important to you.
So after nine days of exercise, my max weight went from two hundred and sixty tons to two hundred and eighty. I had done every exercise I could remember and done everything I could to train every muscle in my body.
My body did not feel tired at all in fact it was full of vitality - A body that was full of potential. With endless potential for growth. Which explains the explosive growth. But I was slowing down, ever so gently, and in a week I will probably make fewer gains. Not because the weights here are not enough-they are certainly enough-but because I was not consolidating my gains in the first place.
The Saiyans were not the perfect breed for gym monkeys. They were the perfect warrior-monkey race. Training was only part of who they were while fighting did the rest.
But I still needed real fighting, no matter how strange it seemed to my post-human sensibilities, and I needed enough fighting to help break the limit imposed on my body alone. If I showed my body that it could not stop growing explosively, it would listen.
This is how Saiyans are. Their bodies listen and adapt to the situation around them. My mind knew this, so it was time for the body to take hold too.... Hoping it doesn't get out of control like last time, otherwise *Well* it won't be an alien threat to destroy this planet.
That's why even after rigorous training, I was still in the gym, working out. But not my body... This time I was exercising my Ki and my control over it.
After all, Ki was more useful than even a Saiyan body in a fight. Ki could improve your body. Ki could be used to produce energy attacks that could pierce a moon or planet. Ki could be used to produce clones of yourself for training or fighting. Ki had many uses and was by far the most lethal weapon in my arsenal.
I had already figured out most of these things with my monstrous innate instincts. I could improve my body so that it was three times stronger, harder and faster. That was just the beginning-the lack of amount of improvement was purely because of my lack of Ki Control.
If I tried to do anything higher than a 20x multiplier, my Ki would get out of my control, overload my body and cause damage. So here I am, cross-legged and supported only by my tail, as I begin my meditation with deep breathing exercises.
I looked for my Ki and it jumped to my attention as if it had a life of its own or something. I guided it throughout my body and tried to lay the groundwork, to remember but above all to adapt to make the process as optimal as possible, after all, in combat I could not make a single mistake.
Otherwise I could have ended up like World Breaker - Hulk (World War Hulk).... And I had no intention of that, speaking honestly even at the cost of destroying every single person who would stand in front of him!
I could feel it flowing through my body and holding in certain places as it strengthened them. Through my bones, through my muscles and through my skin before it evoked a barrier of red-black energy armor around me.
I held the reinforcement at the edge before it overloaded.... When I brought the Ki into this state. In its place was a rabid, hungry wolf begging to be released so it could commit whatever destruction it wanted....
Yet I held him and opened my eyes.... After all, I could not keep running forever....
Although I wouldn't have minded sincerely, I had many other experiences that I wanted to try in both this and my original.
Despite the wild aura around me, I could see more clearly than ever. I lifted one of my hands, which had been listlessly resting on my crossed legs, and concentrated all the energy I could into it.
The aura around that hand became more intense and messy, but before it could hurt my hand-I had learned that lesson a few days ago-I pushed the extra energy out of my hand so that it gathered over my palm.
And so it was. The energy gathered into a ball that hovered trembling above my upturned hand. The ball of red energy trembled and the ball did not form perfectly. Its shape was wobbly, rippling like water, and pieces of the energy came out of the energy ball.
The energy ball floated from my hand, moving from side to side or struggling to rise from my palm. But it still rose a foot above my hand before it orbited just as shakily around me.
... Although I say well, I had no idea if this was the correct way to improve in Ki control, but it was becoming easier to maintain Ki strengthening and push its limits.
Maybe one more week and I could make the improvement even better. Ki Control made some characters much stronger because they could improve their bodies as much as possible without damage and because their Ki use was as efficient as possible-it would take a long time, but I wanted to reach that point someday.
With this in mind, the second ball of energy floated and joined the first as it began to orbit around me. Feeling the mental strain of keeping so much Ki controlled and in use, I closed my eyes and returned to my breathing pattern that Rose had taught me these days as we talked about my problem along of course with Lilith who had recommended this method.
My tail, deliberately left without any Ki Enhancement, trembled under the combined weight of myself and the dumbbell resting on my knees. It was set at three and a half tons. This was a much longer training session than my tail was used to. Which was good. It showed that I was lasting longer and longer each time I did this combined Ki Control/Tail workout.
One thing I never wanted to experience again was the pain and paralysis of having my tail touched. Never. It was humiliating to have such a weak spot. Then I remembered that it was mentioned somewhere that Saiyans can train that weakness out of the tail.
I don't remember how they did it or even if it was mentioned . . . but I guessed it would work like the rest of my body. Saiyan logic, really. So I used it to lift things from time to time over the last nine days as I gradually increased the weight of what I was lifting.
Fortunately, it seemed to work, perhaps because of my Doomsday trait? Anyway even though at first, it hurt like a bitch if I tried to force the process, but just like everything else that is part of a Saiyan body, the tail adapted to the conditions or maybe it was better to say that my body adapted accordingly...
