Chapter - 7: Galatea?
--------
After finishing my training session, I could feel my whole body in a state of extreme continuous excitement as my muscles demanded much more of me in order to reach even higher levels.
A fervent urge - no. It was a proper and true *need*. Like eating or drinking water or breathing air. It thundered through my body like electricity, echoing the desire reflected deep in my blood. The need became more intense as I really looked at my situation.
The universe I was now in was not a nice place. There were heroes, sure. Hopeful men and women who wanted to safeguard the masses and their moral values to the end, even at the cost of their own sanity.
And that was without thinking about the fact that there were other people working for the completely opposite side. Villains. Not all of them were completely evil.... Many of them were just trying to do something for themselves or for someone they cared about, and that led them to clash with the heroes.
But there were really evil people here. People who had no redeeming qualities and only wanted to hurt, maim and kill people for their own crazy reasons.
The need became stronger when I realized that, for all intents and purposes, I was stuck in this reality.... And there was nothing I could do. Stuck among these people who were fighting and some of these people were really strong even too strong.
The need for new strength. I didn't have to be the strongest existence in the universe, no, but I had to be strong enough to protect myself. I had to be strong enough to be left alone.
But I tried to keep my mind clear so as not to get out of control and make myself a battle-hardened maniac like other Saiyans of my acquaintance, or at least I was trying to.... But it wasn't as easy as it might have seemed.
"Stop. That can be enough for now," I said as I could feel after a few seconds I could feel the machinery return to its original weight as my muscles relaxed.
"Oh?" Rose intoned before smiling, "You're stopping. Didn't you want to find out how much your limits?" she asked, with obvious teasing in her words.
I simply gave her a look, "When you can manage my weight, we'll talk again..."
Rose looked like she wanted to answer again not wanting to lose the discussion.... She could have been very competitive but was stopped by a rather frightening look from Lilith.
"Mhm," Rose snorted.
"You did great, your body is strong and in excellent condition. Even compared to Gilotina you are really on another level that kept getting better and better with every passing second."
I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, "Strong body?" he asked, "How strong?" I asked aloud.
"Honestly? I have no idea," said Lilith in a genuine tone. "I tried to use different machines to find out the potential of your body ... But at some point they went completely crazy ..."
"I understand, thank you anyway for your help," I replied. It was really kind to do all this for me, I couldn't help but admit that I was getting a little attached to these two girls.
I was really not surprised by such a discovery. The potential of my body far exceeded Doomsday and in my opinion I could be on the same level as Fu (Dragon Ball - Hero) who was in some ways very similar to me even though I couldn't tell who had more innate potential between the two of us...
We both possess a body that still harbors many mysteries and great power that is still all yet to be discovered and experienced.
"How about a little battle between us?"
Hearing Rose's proposal. My blood roared at the very thought. I knew she was much weaker than I, but until now I had been distracted by many other things. Now, however, there was very little that prevented me from taking up the challenge except common sense.
"If you ask me to arm wrestle or something like that, then I will pass. But if you ask to fight then it's a different matter...," I joked, as I could hear my Saiyan blood roaring to get the challenge it sought.
But despite all my new changes, I was not an idiot.... I didn't exactly know my limits, but I knew I wasn't anywhere near Kryptonian levels of strength yet. Not yet, at least for the time being.
The last part of my inner monologue quelled the desire for battle to something a little easier to handle...
"Of course not! A real battle!"
"That would certainly be very interesting."
Lilith cast a disapproving glance at Rose who merely clicked her tongue and pouted, "I think what she means is that we could show you around and then you can fight," she looked back at me, "There are plenty of other machines to show you how strong you really are and that can help you."
They both looked over my shoulder just as someone spoke from behind me in the distance, "I'm afraid you girls will have to wait. Typhon has a visit with a doctor and then I'm sure he would 'love' to spend more time with you...."
I looked over my shoulder and wondered when I would stop being so shocked at how hot women were in this universe.... Standing not too far from us by the door was Gilotina looking like a teenager's wet dream. Heck, I am no longer a teenager and she is practically mine already....
And what is this doctor's appointment? I honestly didn't mind... But first there were other priorities I had to think about.
"Bitch please I'm sure would rather spend time with us than an old fossil like you," Rose said with obvious disdain.
Gilotina simply huffed in amusement not at all offended by her words as she responded by saying, "Old fossil? Maybe you mean a mature woman.... You really talk a lot to have the body of a little girl ~ Even your friend is more gifted than you~ "
"Would I have the body of a little girl? At least I don't have a cow's body that sits on anything shaped like a cock, plus I think he prefers a body like mine to yours.... Maybe in truth you are jealous?"
"Slut!"
"Bitch."
Eventually Lilith and I had to intervene to manage to stop the possible catfight that was about to take place. Naturally this caused great disappointment between the two girls in question who seemed ready to kill each other.
[Interlude]
"Basic rules," I said to the three people in front of me, with my arms crossed and trying to imitate an overgrown vegeta to try to sound more confident.
I was happy with my Saiyan physiology and was slowly changing my mind at this point. "No blood test. No tissue samples. No DNA collection," I rattled off the main points with a frown on my face, "Not at all."
Gilotina nodded in response, "Sure, we just want to see if there are any immediate threats to your well-being, after all, it's not long since you came out of your containment."
An old man in a lab coat said, "It will be difficult to do a proper test on him without any of the things you mentioned," he said while still joking with some sort of hologram touchpad in his hands.
Yes, Dr. Hamilton...
After bringing him in and having some small talk with both Gilotina and Slade he seemed very willing to help in some way with my situation or rather for clarifying his goals.
The only thing I had been able to figure out was that it had something to do with Galatea for his unexpected help, plus for some reason that name seemed familiar as if I had heard it several times....
However for the moment this detail was not really important and I needed to focus on what was in front of me right now.
"I agree with the Doctor," said a cold, almost excited voice. "We need to do blood tests to check for any potential harmful agents in his body and also the possibility that there may be some kind of unwanted mutation in the future. Tissue samples from certain areas would help to understand that as well," he paused and paused, standing up straight and not having moved a bit.
... I hadn't thought of that. Then again, I doubt that this is his only reason for pushing the issue. Preconceived biases can go to hell, sure, but I don't know Slade that well.... And I'd rather not end up in one of his contingency files if I can help it.
Dr. Hamilton intervened when an awkward silence erupted in the room, "Okay, you two. No need to fret. Especially you, Slade," he gave the villain a sideways glance as if to say there were others to get what they want before looking at me calmly, "Subject#0. let me have some of his blood, please? I will see to it that it is destroyed right after. I promise."
I met his gaze with indifference, and shook my head in response, "I'm sorry but I can't do it. My blood should stay where it should be: inside me."
He sighed in response, "May I ask why? If you are afraid of being cloned, then you should not worry all our attempts to do so have failed miserably. You are a one-of-a-kind being, a miracle of science!"
Of course... The inner scientist showed himself in his last words....
"I don't trust you completely," I said clearly before looking at Gilotina, "I'm grateful that you told me the whole truth.... That you didn't force me ... but I came with you because I hoped you guys wouldn't have me as a corpse in a morgue or treat me as your next science project. I'm not going to let you guys do it willingly, otherwise I should have stayed in that lab...."
That said, things went quiet. That is until Gilotina spoke again, "I understand, Typhon, don't worry. We will just have to strive to earn your full trust in the future, and for now we will run tests that do not betray the trust you have placed in us. Okay?"
"Sure," I replied as I thought inwardly about what he had said. Full confidence, huh? I doubt it will ever happen, but maybe I'm a little pessimistic. I just... Don't think of myself as a paranoid person. I've never had much reason to doubt people so sincerely, but I haven't been in a situation that required it as much as this one, have I?
It's not every day that you find yourself alone in what you once thought was a simple imaginary universe, with even a different body that could go into a berserk state at the slightest annoyance suffered by anyone.
Ignoring the melancholy that wanted to arise in my mind, I looked at the doctor and asked, "So what do you need me to do?"
He looked at me before motioning me to stand beside her, which I did. Walking across the room. Standing next to the doctor, I realized that I was standing on some kind of reflective circle, at which point a ring rose up from the ground around me and began to scan me.
All the way to the top of my head and then back down to my feet. He completed it a couple of times and Hamilton's face curled more and more before she finally clicked he tongue and the ring fell to the ground. He turned to me, looking up from er tablet, and pointed to my chest, " You off that armor, please. It's messing with the scans."
"... What?" I asked aloud and mentally, feeling as if I had been hit by something really really heavy ... What kind of situation was this? Fucking...
"Take off your clothes. I can only get some information about your hands and your head with that stuff on. Even this is less clear than it should be," he clicked his tongue again and turned to Gilotina "I thought you said this equipment was top of the line?"
Gilotina wrinkled her eyebrows in confusion, "It is.... I borrowed a lot of designs on Apokolips' technology. It should have no problem scanning Typhon's body."
