Quick Poll on the Broom (Updated)
🕑 Added 2021-11-07 00:43:26 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Sorry for no broom yet (and no dev post), I'm continuously running into issues but I am so close to getting this finished!
So now I have a situation and quick question as a result regarding the broom. As I explained in a previous post, I wanted to have a board that the broom slots to so it has a place to go to. I started this a few days ago and finally got it to slot in a way that worked....but now the broom being slotted with a rotated slot is causing a few other issues. The rotated slot was added because otherwise the broom is sideways, this puts it vertical. The biggest bug is that once slotted you can't remove it without either using "Add to inventory" or moving the sims inventory menu nearby and dragging the broom into it, which then resets the broom. If you try to remove it in build mode it says the broom intersects with the floor/ceiling (image below), no matter what you do (this does not happen until the broom is slotted). The second bug is that you can't choose "Sweep Around" while the broom is slotted, the third bug is that "Sweep Here" doesn't make the sim grab the broom while it is slotted (everything works perfectly when it isn't slotted).
First bug I mentioned ^ (Ravasheen, Pancake, and Panda have no idea what this bug is either, lol).
I'm getting ready to try a second idea for this that might at least fix the placement bug...but it likely won't solve the other two bugs so I'll have to spend time finding fixes for those as well. I'm also not sure if I should even be bothering with allowing it to be placed on the floor, or slotting it to begin with. So my question(s) at the moment are: Do you even care if the broom can be placed flat onto the floor? Do you prefer it to be slotted only? Or should I find some other slotting solution in a future update to release it faster?
Of course if you have any other thoughts or suggestions, please feel free to post them here or on Discord.
I'm going to try that possible fix next, and after that work on the last few other things while I wait for everyone to vote. I'm so ready for this broom to be done and over with, lol.

Update
Welp, tried the geostates and it "kinda" works, but it's got it's own issues as well. I'm going with the majority vote and going to focus on the slotting system in a future update instead so it can be perfected, which will hopefully also have several of the other features I am planning on adding.
So for now the broom will remain on the floor until further notice. If you don't like them to be on the floor, it is recommended you place it in the sims inventory or the inventory of another storage item (such as a storage chest, I'll list all of the available options upon release). My goal is to still allow both floor and slotting, but if I can't get them both to work I will focus on the slotting part only since it was the second majority.
Anyhow, thank you for voting and thank you for your patience! I will hopefully have this out in just a few days, my toddler has been going through a no napping and clingy phase so my time is currently limited.
