Yes, please watch the spin offs. You have to start with Fear TWD around the end of season 8. Tyrese was not going to let it go without finding out who killed Karen and David so there was no way to keep it quiet. Once people knew what Carol did it would definitely cause a divide in the group. The main group would try to get pass it but they would be side eyeing Carol for sure. the Woodbury and other new people may want to rebel because they would want to know how the council could let what she did slide. It's a hard decision but maybe going forward it will be a good thing for the entire group.

I remember when this episode aired, I was so mad at Rick, I probably threw something at my tv lol Carol is one of the GOATS on this show. You should watch the spins off but after you finish this show. Because most of those take place after the final season. Except Fear the Walking Dead and it’s kinda trash lol

Carol has been weak and now she like Morgan has “inherited the earth”. She didn’t question if her actions were wrong or right she just acted for what she felt was the correct choice for survival for the majority and didn’t hesitate to do so. Could David and Karen have survived? Maybe they could’ve, yet if they weren’t gonna survive then she just denied them an even worse death than what she did to them. She went to fix the water not thinking about anything other than what needs to be done and acted immediately without hesitation for what she felt was the correct choice. Specifically because there could be more walkers out there the next day and for all they know they might not have a tomorrow in general (being her line of thinking). I’m not saying she was correct or incorrect in her actions but I am saying she clearly has shown she doesn’t hesitate anymore and does what she believes she needs to do to survive and that’s it, no good or bad intentions involved just actions required for survival no matter the cost. So her excluding the idea of good and bad from her choices, viewing killing and death as nothing new, and not liking her choices yet accepting them made her ultimately Indifferent to everyone else at the prison. Just like Merle said to her last season “you’re a late bloomer.”
