I'm so late to this being it's already 2025 and season two is happening (which I'm so excited to see your reactions to!!) but the past few weeks I've been watching your whole tlou part 1 and 2 playthroughs and now this and I love how empathetic you are and how emotional you get <3 this episode I think is my favourite and even knowing what was coming it was really beautifully done.

What I love is that they never directly tell us that what happened with Ellie and Riley. The two of them sat next to each other and then, when Riley turned, Ellie had to kill her best friend/crush. It isn't that Ellie watched her friend die, she actively had to kill her. That situation echoes throughout the series.

i love this episode 💗 some people think it's "filler" which is so weird to me since ellie is one of the protagonists and this is her backstory

The carousel was a beautiful scene. I would like to think they still exist 20 years from now. You are going to have the most intellectual, beautiful, emotional children someday! I hope your future partner realizes how lucky they are to be with you!

I love the writing in the show/game so much. There's zero fat in the words they choose. Like when they're on the rooftop and Ellie asks Riley how she got connected to the Fireflies. Riley starts telling her the story and she says "And this chick jumps out of nowhere" and Ellie interrupts "A chick our age?" That little line from Ellie serves two purposes - Riley's answer informs us that the "chick" was like 40 so letting us know it was Marlene but also Ellie asking the age can also have a bit of jealousy behind it as well since we know she carries a flame for Riley. *chefs kiss* You'll be happy to know at 27:56 in the episode they gave a shout-out to your favorite arcade game - Joust.
