I see Garnet more like a grandma. She's the nicest to Steven, hard on Pearl and Amethyst, has the most experience and has a kind of authority synonimous with a grandparent. Her talk with Grangran sure made it seem so.

You gotta understand that from Steven pov, garnet is a cool aunt, amethyst a cool big sis, but pearl? Pearl is like his mom. She take care of him, clean his mess, hang out with him, is the one who truly loves him as a mom does even when she herself dont get that since she doesnt get the concept, so he really was worried about his foumd mom dissapearing

I always thought that Pearl taking so long to come back was because Holo-Pearl being out was messing with her in some way, hence her coming back right after it was dissipated.

So everytime the gems regenerate they get new designs. And if you noticed while pearl was forming at the end she went through a few different appearances. One of these appearances was how she looked in the promo for the show

Yeah, this is one of those occasional traumatizing moments in Season 1. Like you said: we spend a good couple of seconds thinking "Did... did Steven just watch Pearl DIE? O_o ".

I love how real this show can get in 0.5 seconds. The pearl scene and her trying to comfort steven when it happened is so intense. Also Onion isn´t just a menace they´re a creature
