Book of the Raven (Patron)

A broken down home where tragedy occurred and still haunts every corner. What dark secrets lie within it's grounds?
This adventure is one that has some great moments, but there isn't much of a story there. A few things I found that made this adventure easier to run, include:
The map was hidden in a slide pocket within the wooden book cover. That is why it wasn't found until the players do so.
Place the statue of Orcus in the Shadowfell and is the reason why the portal between the Material plane and there is still open.
The portal was originally opened due to the torture and sacrifice of the youngest daughter by her mother with the intention of creating a gateway. It is still potentially triggering for players (you may want to consider that) but will be much less problematic than the included reason of the girl having many physical differences (players with disabilities may find the books writing of "physical deformities" causing her a life of suffering and her death being for the best).
The village of Wytchway was destroyed when creatures from the shadowfell (I like using Shadows or vampiric mists for that) crossed over. You can add in a random encounter combat against shadows in either the village or crossing the bridge so that players are aware of how serious an issue this could be.
The wereravens are there to guard the portal to prevent more undead from getting out. A vistani seer cast a ritual to enchant the book so that it would end up in the hands of a group who could brave the Shadowfell and destroy the statue. The wereravens will test the players' to see how easily they give in to fear, then they'll make the request and offer magic items to them.
Once the statue is destroyed, the players will have 1 minute to get out of the shadowfell. Have everything start attacking with the destruction of the statue, and let the players have the option of running from the combat to the portal again. The ghouls with paralysis, gargoyles with flight, and the jumping wight will make it a challenge to get everyone out safely within the time limit.
Hope your party enjoys!
