more updates - October 2023
🕑 Added 2023-10-02 20:45:10 +0000 UTCWell it's October already! That came both quickly and slowly, it felt like.
The past couple weeks were a well-needed break for me, more than I knew I needed. I'm still a bit out-of-sorts, but I feel a lot fresher than I was; over the end of the past week I started back up on some more experimental projects for myself and ended up really engrossed in them, more so than I have been in ages, which is a nice feeling ^^
----
Life is still hectic, especially the online scene lately. First was one of my artworks getting deleted with no recourse on DA; within a week it was Karbo having their entire gallery taken out, again without any opportunity to protest. I've since gone and cleaned out a lot of older stuff from my gallery there preemptively and started following a bunch of artists as they migrate to greener pastures, such as Itaku, Pixiv, Inkblot, and of course the venerable Eka's Portal for primarily vore stuff. At least that's been going well; I gave my own Eka's gallery an overdue update, and Itaku is looking like a promising option as well, while I've been on Pixiv already for years now.
It really sucks for Karbo and anyone else affected by this apparent unannounced shift, but there isn't much you can do besides continue on and hope that the sites you choose won't betray you down the line ^^; Too much being driven by advertiser and investor money, sites gutting their own userbase in favor of those short-term profit bumps. It'll bite them back eventually.

All that sucky stuff aside, I feel like things have been going well for me! I've been making some progress with things in my outside life, finding unexpected opportunities to put some of my other skills to use and tentatively on the list for a job at a smaller local store I really like visiting. Maybe having a (probably just part-time) job during the day will make it easier to relax with art when I'm home, and stress out less over whether or not I can make a comfortable living from art alone in these times.
I have some very tentative plans for a Halloween picture to work on this month, just looking for props :D And an idea in my head for an "irresistible indulgence" follow-up scene too, as well as writing a proper blurb to go with the last piece. It's a bit slow getting the ball rolling again after my break, but I definitely feel re-energized, even though I didn't really do anything with that time off besides games and bike riding. No big changes of scenery, just a little time away from feeling pressured to be productive 24/7.
Thank you all for being a patient bunch with me! I appreciated the comments and encouragement I got from here and elsewhere this past month. And I'm looking forward to getting back into my projects; hopefully with a healthy pace so I don't start to feel burnt-out again, and reminding myself that I do this art because I enjoy it, not out of purely feeling as though I have to make stuff. <3

Truly such a hectic and chaotic few months. Glad to see you're on the uptake!
