designs dump + update (November 2020)

So, what have I got to share this month? A whole bunch of half-finished things, actually; mostly character designs I'm working at, though there might be some revisits and other projects in the pipeline as well, so let's just get into it.
----
First off, we've got those pictures at the top! Three different characters on display, there, so we'll start with the first one, the blue-eyed blonde with her hair in a braid. No proper name for her yet; she's currently just named "Not-Pecorine", uncreatively so due to the fact that her design was wholly inspired by a character named Pecorine, from game/anime Princess Connect (she's a very upbeat and gluttonous character, and needless to say that's right up my alley when it comes to personalities for my preds).
Not-Pecorine is of course aimed down a slightly different path, more personalized to my own tastes, whatever I can think up to make her stand out as her own character. I'll make a public post about some of that in the future perhaps, but the TL;DR so far is: non-Paeran plopped into Paeratopa, and her love of new experiences and eating tasty things + finding out that everyone in this realm can respawn has simply led her down the path of really enjoying eating tiny people :D
----
So, number two! This one is the soft elven-looking girl with slightly greenish hair (I might tweak the hair tint a bit in the future, but very pale is an important detail). She's actually loosely based on another Princess Connect character, funnily enough: Kokkoro, a... soft elven-looking girl with very pale hair. Amazing right!
In this case, there's more I'd like to change; for one, the actual Kokkoro looks very young, and what I'd like to aim for is a character who's plausibly just a short twenty-something (in human years, if she's an actual elf she might technically be older). This one would be a prey character, scratching the itch of having just a very soft, demure, delicate-looking prey for preds like the aforementioned Not-Pecorine to gobble up~
----
Third one, the busty girl with pink-tinted hair in buns! Another one with no name as of yet, but that's a little more to be expected, as I only just started working on her a day or so ago. More of a free-form design, just experimenting with various inspirations and trying out new 3D models, but there's a general aim coming up in all of that... Another pred, more sleepy/calm and hedonistic (inspirations from a friend's character I really liked), and just letting things expand from there.
I haven't even decided what she'll be, to be honest, if she'll be another paeran, or a non-paeran in Paeratopa just like Not-Pecorine is, or maybe even a character to drop into the same "the Castle" setting as the Castle Lady design I'd been working on a while back. I think with this one though, I'll stick with the whole free-form idea and just let those details work themselves out!

Phew this is long already, is there anything else... Well, there's that last picture! This is one idea I've had in mind to revisit of a very old piece I've never been satisfied with, "Yayoi - hotdog helper". I liked the concept at the time, but the execution just really didn't work in my opinion. Well, now I've got a much more up-to-date model of Yayoi, and some models of actual hotdogs rather than hotdog-colored logs, and I'm sure I could do much much better on posing and all that as well, so that's something on the side-burner. :3 Still working out the pose and all but it's already started, as you can see.
There's also some other fresh ideas I'd like to mess around with, maybe figure out a new scene with Momiji, find ways to showcase newer characters, update more of the older ones... I'm trying not to overwhelm myself, but also making sure I don't run out of ideas, so hopefully I'm striking a balance there!
I know I've been working slower this year especially, but at least I do have some excuses for that (this year has been a lot of external stresses, and it's not been doing well for my health either). But it's feeling a bit more productive now, and with more and more of my old characters being brought up-to-date, old content getting sorted, new software getting figured out... I'm starting to return to that point where I can just have an idea and then go work on it, no sidetracks into needing to do this or that first. Fingers crossed and crossed again. ^^
