“Ah… this one seems troubled,” the being said to itself. “Confused, erratic, without direction… but still taking a step forward despite the fear. Perfect. You shall be my host.” A happy ripple went through its mass before it reached through and formed a connection with the newly assigned host.
Immediately as the connection was made, the being scanned the thread of fate of its new host and found the perfect opportunity just a few minutes into the future. The being didn’t yet know the host enough to determine whether it would succeed but decided to go with it anyway.
Just as the host was about to turn away from the opportunity, the being handed her a relevant snapshot of the thread of fate, which prompted her to keep going.
“I’m just gonna take the selfie and then we can turn back.”
The following events made another happy ripple permeate the being. In fact, it went way better than anticipated. The host was a weird one, that was for sure.
As time went on, the being got to know the host more and more and kept helping her by giving her glimpses of the thread. As expected, the host then made conclusions only a being who had access to the thread of fate could come to. Others couldn’t help but call it nonsense. At times, when the suggestions weren’t enough, the being had to touch thread itself, such as when à̸̛̻̓͗ͅn̶̦̩͔͊̓́̂͜ĝ̸͓͚̬͈͖e̶̢̼͍̟̦̽̊l̸̡̞̙̽̐͘͝’s host tried to harm her with plasma.
The being soon found itself struggling though. Somehow, even after getting glimpses of the thread, she still couldn’t figure out the simple fact about herself. A fact the being had been trying to show her the entire time.
A host that could frustrate it to this degree sure was a first, but also an absolutely perfect fit to be the host of ċ̸̡h̷̠͙̋̿ą̵̛̱̜̼̃̊̄ͅo̵͓͓͂̕͝s̷̛̖̝̮̟̓̐̕͠.
It took a long time, the being folding itself inside-out out of sheer frustration by the end of it, but the host finally managed to come to the right conclusion.
“I AM A GIRL!” the host shouted.
The being’s mass exploded in all directions out of relief before clumping back together. It finally happened. The host realized it.
It sure had been a journey, but the initial problem the host had was solved now. What an achievement. The being could finally focus on helping the host in other ways.
Unfortunately, even a host this perfect made mistakes, as the being found out.
Not too long after the great revelation, the host decided to disregard the thread of fate in the most crucial moment and chase after the p̴̜̹͇̺̌̋r̷̡̠̮̫͎͒̎̌̌o̸̲̳̫̳͍̅͗̊̀͐t̶̛͖͔̪̳̟͘ě̶̪̇̿c̷̫͠͠t̸̛͈͖̲̦̻̎̅̕̕ơ̴̠̙̝͓͛͜͝r̷̻̩̓̓̇’s host.
The chain reaction from the host’s decision caused the thread of fate to warp, and the being had to work on analyzing it again.
The being flashed cyan in exasperation.
