I wish warcaster got a small “nerf” where instead of getting advantage on all concentration saves, it was like the 2024 Mage slayer. So they get one legendary resistance for their spell concentration
Treantmonk's Temple
That's exactly what happened.

I think Chris confused himself with fighting styles, which Barbarians don't get.
Infinitejest
did barbarians lose weapon mastery?

What do you think about a 90 foot Thorn Whip?

Sentinel: does the new Opportunity Attack rule specify you need to take a reaction to make a OA (e.g. in the glossary)? In which case, they don't have to mention in the feat it uses your reaction since it's part of the OA rule.

I noticed a change in telekinetic... previously the extended range was dependent on the PC having the cantrip already. Now it doesn't say that. It straight up gives the 30 extra feet, nothing required.
Matthew
Chris, how would you go about bringing Metamagic Adept in? As an origin feat or with a +1 to a mental stat?
Tristram
Hey Chris, I believe Barbarians also get Weapon Mastery as a class feature.

Possible interesting interaction with War Caster's Reactive Spell trait: "When a creature provokes an Opportunity Attack, you can take a Reaction to cast a spell at the creature..." 2024 Rules Glossary for Opportunity Attacks states: "You can make an Opportunity Attack when a creature that you can see leaves your reach using its action, its Bonus Action, its Reaction, or one of its speeds." It doesn't say the word "Enemy" (which is the new term they're using for creatures you are fighting)- so it seems possible to use War Caster's Reaction attack on teammates! You could cast Haste for example on your Fighter or Rogue who runs past you.

You missed one other buff for the Sentinel feat. In the 2014 Handbook, you could not make the reaction attack if the target of the enemy's attack also had the Sentinel feat. It's a small change, but it does make it easier for two characters to have the Sentinel feat at the same time and not short out the reaction attacks.

I’m bummed about telepathic not getting a change to the one-way communication. It’s basically a worse message cantrip and I don’t see why they couldn’t just give you telepathic message.

Quick note- Spell sniper used to give a cantrip, which COULD BE Eldritch Blast, which if you didn’t want the rest of stuff from Magic Initiate was a reasonably okayge way to do it, and it no longer gives a cantrip. Is that a big deal? Noooot… reallly, but at least before it had a niche case, which I don’t see here.

Did they fix Mage Hand? The problem with Telekinetic was that the range increase didn't really help since the hand instantly vanished if it was ever more than 30 feet, irrespective of range
Jaron Mortimer
Spell sniper is not great for most classes, but is at least a 4/5 pick for Warlocks.
