Yes, probably all the cheese weasels playing this build are angry and outraged that they only do 50 d4 on the even number rounds

The spell is badly written, the wording should have said that damage beyond the initial square ONLY happens on voluntary movement. Also, grappled creature movement should always cause the grapplee to be moved into the exact square being vacated by the grappler. That way you could do 100 D4 damage, by subjecting yourself to a hundred D4 damage...
