#315 - 5 BAD Guitar Habits Making You Sound TERRIBLE.
🕑 Added 2024-03-07 15:30:01 +0000 UTCMy friends, you voted for weak finger exercises this month - so I wanted to feature them in a video that's all about bad guitar habits I keep seeing :) Fixing these will make you sound much better right away, and with the right exercises, a lot of them are quite easy to correct!
Here are your practice files for this week (play-along videos, tabs, guitar pro files, backing tracks): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14GfhkbQk5NZNkxhsBHGp-fo7iAdRHSDs?usp=sharing
Please remember that you can post progress videos in the secret Facebook group for VIP and Platinum members! I'm personally active over there, giving helpful feedback along with our inner circle of over 900 players :)
As always, I also made a Dropbox folder in case Google Drive doesn't work for you: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/qqc5qdhj1rgehv3y0l0jt/h?rlkey=u223rh1k05e6o4eoylhs5dc1m&dl=0

Hey thanks :) So it's not a 30 day package like the other courses I guess?

Does anyone have a link for the bad habits correction package?

Great video! But one thing. I've often already thought this in Bernth's videos and cannot hold back anymore: It's actually pronounced "thum", not "thump". The "b" is silent. (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/thumb) I always feel kinda awkward when hearing it pronounced "thump". 😬😅

The part about moving the thumb toward the high strings when playing in that area is super helpful. I've been playing for quite awhile, but realized I've mostly been thinking about keeping my thumb aligned with the middle finger along the neck.

Great timing with this video. I was thinking over areas where I need significant improvement this morning and this covers like 75% of what I was thinking about.

+1 props to thumb cam! 👍🏻

Thank you for the 'thumb cam' on the exercise showing thumb placement as you're gliding down the guitar neck!

This channel has been a godsend. Before this instruction, I had never had a dedicated practice routine, practiced scales or exercises, practiced with a metronome, or used a Jazz pick. I have implemented shred, sweep, and timing, and now I will add this, which I certainly need. I have seen improvements, and that is a good thing.
