[PATRON REWARD] Weekly Update - July 14th, 2019
🕑 Added 2019-07-15 04:23:44 +0000 UTCWow, what is this new black and red design? That's right, the entire Accented Cinema brand got a bit of a style update, Facebook, Twitter, Patreon and the channel page itself got a bit of an update. The color theme is now black and red, bolder and sleeker.
The YouTube channel has been changing slowly, and by now, new video thumbnails don't use that old white on red banner design any more. As most thumbnails trends to dark backgrounds, I find this new design a bit more appropriate.
What do you think?
- The voice over for next episode is recorded and edited. I'm still trying to learn to talk faster and emote better.
- I'm also thinking of hiring a professional actor to do the voice over. But the channel will lose my accent. As surprising as it may seems, some people actually told me they like my accent. Baffling, I know.
- Because next episode is the biggest episode to-date. I'm way behind schedule as result. The channel currently has no backlog on any other episode scripts, a fact which I feel very uncomfortable with.
- While I'm still fairly confident that this episode will come out next Thursday, the next few episodes will have simpler topics, so I can rebuild a backlog of content. That way I can still upload, even if I get sick for a week.
- The channel's growth is slowing down again, back to lower double digits per day. Although after the "debacle" that is the Jackie Chan episode, I'm not so sure if I want another sudden wave of attention any more.
- To gain back momentums, the next few episodes will talk more about mainstream foreign films. Don't worry, I'll still offer some unique insights or tackle these films from a different angle.
- In summary, next few episode will be simpler and more about individual, popular foreign films. As such, I'll be putting the Bruce Lee retrospective on hold for now. Sorry to disappoint, but the legend himself deserve a lot more research time.
- That said, I did wrote down a basic idea for what to do about the Bruce Lee episode. And it'll likely be a two-parter.
- Finally, I'm thinking of stepping outside the realm of cinema for the bonus video this week. I'm thinking about... video games.
- But I also understand most people are here because they like movies. I'll hold a poll to decide the topic of bonus video later this week or next week.
And finally, I also redesigned some of the motion graphics in the video. Expect some small changes starting next episode!
Once again, thank you all for the support! See you next episode!

You should not hire a voice actor. Your channel is called Accented Cinema. The accent should be there.

I'll host a poll later tonight to see if people are interested!

Some video game bonus videos would be fantastic though.

Don't hire someone else, I love your voice! It's a big part of why I like your videos so much!
