The lead cultist finished drawing an inverted pentagram on Supergirl's face and then stepped out of the magic circle.
After that, another cultist, who appeared out of nowhere, dragged out a golden goat. He slit the goat's throat right in front of Supergirl and started letting the blood drain out.
For a few seconds, Roy had the feeling that the white goat had transformed into a blonde girl.
It was like a glitch in a dream, a sudden texture error, that made Roy feel a strong sense of something being off.
Was that really a golden goat?
Or was it actually a blonde girl getting her throat brutally slit, only the dream twisted it into a golden goat?
Roy felt more and more like this dream was getting seriously weird.
Aside from the bizarre golden goat getting its throat slit and bleeding out, those cultists were also totally lifelike, not at all like NPCs in a dream.
On the other hand, Supergirl, the owner of this dream, seemed totally out of it, like she was in a daze.
What the heck was going on?
Just as he was thinking this, the cultist had already picked up the basin full of goat's blood and came over to Supergirl, dumping it right on top of her.
The warm blood soaked Supergirl's body, and the Supergirl who had been so dazed suddenly seemed to snap awake, starting to taste the blood all over herself.
The scene was super creepy, yet it had this strange, unsettling beauty to it.
Then the cultists started laughing, and the guy who had just drawn the symbol on Supergirl's forehead started talking.
"Excellent, the ritual is almost complete! Let's call it a day and get out of here."
With that, a dozen or so cultists lined up and walked in another direction. A red portal appeared in front of them, and they vanished after stepping through it.
Those guys were actually outsiders who had entered the dream, just like Roy, and not NPCs created by the dream owner!
That meant Supergirl's current dream was being manipulated!
Roy hesitated for a moment, then decided to approach Supergirl to see what her deal was.
In front of the red-roofed cabin, Supergirl was still licking the blood off her body, her mannerisms and movements like some kind of wild animal.
After seeing Roy walk over, she immediately let out a low growl, like a startled wild animal, as if warning Roy to stay away.
How could Roy not get closer? He felt like he was figuring out who Supergirl was in this world!
"Hey, relax, I'm not a bad guy, wait, no, I am a good guy! Can you tell me your name?"
Supergirl was lying on the ground, her eyes fixed on Roy, as if she couldn't understand a word he was saying.
Why was that? Did dreaming make you lose your ability to speak or something?
Roy started to suspect that the goal of those dozen or so cultists was probably to reshape Supergirl's personality, controlling her through a ritual in the dream.
That would explain why Supergirl was acting so weird right now.
Supergirl's expression became more and more dangerous, her body tensing up like a coiled spring.
Finally, when Roy got within a certain critical distance of Supergirl, she suddenly lunged at him, her speed incredibly fast, like a bolt of red lightning.
But Roy had already prepared for a fight and dodged to the side the moment Supergirl attacked.
And that wasn't all. As they passed each other, Roy grabbed Supergirl's ankle and slammed her onto the ground like swatting a fly.
【Discovered special character Carrie, you can absorb the power of fate to obtain rewards!】
Carrie? Was it Carrie the Witch?
Roy actually knew the movie Carrie. It was a pretty famous European and American horror flick. It wouldn't have been remade three times if it wasn't well-known.
However, Roy had seen other versions of Carrie but not the Supergirl version, so he didn't recognize her look right away.
In the blink of an eye, dark red flames suddenly erupted on Carrie's body, forcing Roy to let go.
Having regained her freedom, Carrie, covered in flames, cautiously circled Roy, observing him. The earlier hit had made her realize that Roy wasn't someone to mess with, so she didn't attack rashly again.
"Is your name Carrie?"
The name Carrie seemed to briefly bring her back to her senses, but only for a few short seconds before her consciousness was taken over by her animalistic instincts again.
Then, Carrie suddenly opened her mouth wide and started breathing fire at Roy.
The dark red flames Carrie controlled weren't quite the same as Roy's hellfire. Even Roy in his demon form wouldn't dare to take them head-on, let alone his current consciousness in a dream.
But in a dream, Roy could do so much more, even more freely than in reality.
Suddenly, a wall of earth rose from the ground, blocking the dark red flames Carrie spat out. The earth wall started to melt in the blink of an eye, showing just how hot those dark red flames were.
However, the burst of dark red flames blocked Carrie's vision, preventing her from seeing Roy's next move.
Whack! The back of Carrie's head was suddenly hit hard, making her see stars and instinctively shut her mouth.
Needless to say, no one else in this dream could have done that.
"Can't talk nicely, huh?"
Roy was holding a baseball bat, a weapon he had just conjured to avoid directly touching the dark red flames on Carrie's body.
Just from that one hit, the baseball bat was already down to just the handle, so he had to throw it away and conjure another one.
The dark red flames on Carrie's body were a bit of a pain, like a porcupine, making it hard to get a grip.
He had to figure out a way to break through those dark red flames!
While thinking about it, Roy didn't hold back, constantly conjuring various weapons and hitting Carrie with them.
Swords, spears, halberds, axes, yokes, forks, tridents, scythes, maces, whips, flails, hammers, claws, crutches, meteors – anything with a point, anything with a blade, anything with a rope, anything with a chain, anything with barbs, even those crescent moon blades – he used them all.
Carrie was really tough. She didn't even cry out in pain after being hit for so long, way tougher than Maria and Elaine.
If it were Maria and Elaine, they probably would have surrendered after the first hit.
This made Roy start to suspect that Carrie might also have some kind of special bloodline.
Caught up in the fight, Roy completely didn't notice that the golden goat's blood that had been spilled on the ground had gathered together, forming a blood-colored whip that suddenly grabbed his leg.
Roy instantly lost his balance, which also caused Carrie to lose her restraint.
At this point, Roy realized that Carrie's witch talent was probably controlling blood. The dark red flames that had just burned were actually burned blood, which was blood flame.
So, after the blood on Carrie's skin had completely burned away, the dark red flames gradually disappeared.
However, Roy didn't have time to worry about the dark red flames right now because he was hanging upside down by the blood whip and couldn't control his body.
And after losing control, Carrie immediately attacked Roy, looking like she wanted to bite his neck off.
There was no other way, so he could only…
A flash of white light went by, and Carrie let out a piercing scream.
Roy transformed into his four-winged angel form, emitting a powerful holy light that disintegrated the blood whip holding him.
At the same time, under the holy light, Carrie also fell to the ground, writhing in pain, her body constantly emitting red gas.
The surrounding environment began to subtly change, which also meant Carrie was changing.
This wasn't the first time Roy had transformed his consciousness into an angel. He had tried it before when fighting Elureza.
The effect back then was amazing, directly turning the succubus Elureza's soul into that of a baby.
This time, dealing with Carrie was equally effective, but Roy didn't want another daughter, so he transformed back into his human form when he saw that things were pretty much done.
At this moment, the blood moon in the sky also changed back to its normal color, and the strange red tint around them returned to normal.
Carrie lay weakly on the ground, looking at Roy with a puzzled expression.
"Who are you? I've never seen you before!"
The NPCs that people can see in dreams are all people they've met before. Some people might have only met once, but their subconscious remembers them.
But Carrie was sure she had never seen Roy before. After all, it was impossible not to remember a boy as handsome as him.
"My name is Roy Black, maybe you've heard of me."
Carrie blinked, surprised. She had actually just heard that name tonight.
"How can this be? Could it be because I heard your name that I imagined you in my dream?"
Roy shook his head.
"No, I entered your dream through some kind of ability."
At this moment, Carrie's dream started to become unstable, just like Zoe's dream. This meant that Carrie in the real world was waking up.
"Listen, Carrie! Since you know my name, you should know a little bit about me. I need to warn you about something really important. A bunch of cultists somehow got into your dream and performed some kind of ritual on you! This ritual will most likely change your personality, so you need to deal with this as soon as possible! If you really can't figure out how, go buy some zopiclone and take it. It's a fast-acting sleeping pill that can quickly put you into a deep sleep where you won't dream!
Your background doesn't determine who you become. What truly determines who you become is what's in your heart!"
After Roy finished speaking, the dream completely collapsed, and the whole world turned pitch black.
A pair of incredibly huge scarlet eyeballs appeared beneath his feet, making Roy dizzy and his vision blurry.
Roy's willpower was a whopping 51 points, and even with such high willpower, he was still affected. He started to suspect that the eyeball below was probably some ancient evil god.
Using the last of his strength to open the door to leave, Roy discovered that there were no more dreams he could enter around him.
Crap! It must be daylight now, so everyone's already up!
There was no other way. Roy had to force open a door back to his own dream to escape the collapsing dream world.
Back in reality, the four girls in the basement woke up one after another.
The first to wake up was Zoe. After waking up once in the middle of the night because she was embarrassed, she couldn't stop thinking about it and couldn't fall back asleep, practically dozing until morning.
The second to wake up was Maria. The first thing she did after opening her eyes was touch her butt. It felt like it hurt even more, but her cheeks were completely flushed.
The third to wake up was Carrie. Before waking up, she had heard what Roy said, but because dream memories get fuzzy after waking up, she couldn't remember what Roy had said for a while. Right now, she was racking her brain trying to recall those words.
And Roy was the first to enter Madison's dream, but she was the last one to wake up.
Stretching out with a big yawn, Madison stood up and looked at the other girls, noticing that each of them either had a blush on their face or looked deep in thought, which she found really strange.
"Why does everyone look so lovesick? Did you guys dream about Roy too?"
The three girls all blinked in surprise, then answered at the same time.
"You dreamed about him too?"
Only then did Madison realize that Roy had not only entered her dream but also the dreams of the others, truly a master of time management.
A sentence just popped out of her mouth.
"That guy didn't do it with you guys in your dreams too, did he?"
Three girls: ???
Seeing the expressions of the other three girls, Madison knew they definitely hadn't done the deed, and she immediately felt a secret sense of glee.
Zoe looked at Madison, speechless.
"Madison, you've got such a bitchy smile on your face!"
"Huh? Did it show on my face?"
Zoe and Maria looked at each other, then simultaneously pounced on Madison and started tickling her.
"Hahaha… let me go!"
"We'll let you go, but you have to tell us all the juicy details of your dream! Right, Zoe?"
"Yeah, yeah!"
"No way, I can't talk about that kind of stuff!"
"Then we'll just keep tickling you until you spill the beans!"
Madison couldn't take such torture and quickly gave in, starting to recount the details of her dream.
Some of the wild things she said made Zoe and Maria's faces turn red. They were both pretty conservative in that department and couldn't imagine such racy scenes.
Only Carrie was still thinking about what Roy had said to her in the dream, so she wasn't really paying attention to what Madison was saying.
"Carrie, what are you thinking about?"
Zoe suddenly slapped Carrie on the shoulder, making her jump.
"N-nothing, not much. Roy told me some important things in the dream, but I can't quite remember the specifics."
Hearing that, Maria got a little curious.
"What important things?"
"It sounded like he was saying there was something wrong with my dream or something, oh, and also to try my best not to dream!"
"Don't dream? Why would he say that?"
The four girls all started pondering Carrie's question, and the basement suddenly became quiet.
Just then, the basement door was suddenly opened.
"You girls can come out now."
The person who opened the door was none other than Cordelia, the headmistress of the witch school. The 24-hour confinement period had just ended.
The four girls stretched their bodies as they walked out of the basement. After all, they had spent the night sleeping on the cold, hard floor, and everyone's back was aching.
"You'd better hurry, you might be able to catch the tail end of breakfast."
As soon as Cordelia said that, the four girls immediately felt their stomachs start to rumble.
The sandwiches Emma had sent over last night were just enough to tide them over, and after a whole night, they were starving.
So, the four girls picked up their pace and rushed towards the dining hall.
Breakfast was almost over at this point, and most of the people in the dining hall had already left.
Madison and the others didn't see Fiona and didn't know if the Supreme Witch wasn't at school that morning or if she had already eaten breakfast and left.
Emma was still eating breakfast. She always ate slowly, and then she noticed that Madison, Zoe, and Maria were being particularly friendly to her, constantly piling food onto her plate.
"Stop adding food, I can't eat anymore!"

Chapter 214: Bumblebee
Roy woke up feeling totally out of it. He felt like he'd downed a bunch of cheap booze and then gone clubbing.
Basically, his head was a mess, and he felt terrible.
"Didn't expect those red eyes to be so freaky. Looks like I need to be more careful using the Nightmare ability in the future!"
Roy rubbed his temples, feeling a little better.
Just then, his phone buzzed, catching his attention.
"Hey, it's Roy."
"Roy, it's Coach Lambert! Why didn't you tell me you changed your number? I had to ask Niddy to get your new one!"
Hearing Lambert's voice, Roy figured it had to be about the Olympic world qualifiers.
"Coach Lambert, you actually managed to get me qualified?"
"Yep! Allen and I already took care of your qualification. All you gotta do is sign the papers!"
Roy scratched his head, feeling a bit stuck.
"But I'm in Boston right now. I can't get back to Waterfall Town."
"What are you doing in Boston? Today's the registration deadline! Alright, here's what we'll do: I'll fax you the documents. You fill them out and fax them back to me!"
"Sounds good!"
"One more thing: the world qualifiers start tomorrow! The venue's in New York. We'll meet up directly in New York tomorrow!"
With that, Lambert hung up.
Seriously, this urgent?
New York isn't actually that far from Boston, only about three or four hundred kilometers. Driving would take four hours tops.
But Roy hadn't seen Emma yet, so he was a little hesitant.
However, according to Madison, Emma didn't seem to be getting bullied at the witch school. The main issues were Cardilia forcibly taking Emma and finding Lilith's daughter.
Waiting a day or two probably wouldn't make a huge difference, whereas missing the world qualifiers meant waiting another four years.
In that case, he should probably take care of the world qualifiers first.
Roy picked up his phone to call Jennifer but realized he couldn't get through. He figured she was already on the plane and had turned off her phone.
So, Roy sent a text to Jennifer explaining that he was going to New York, then left the apartment to get his car.
He still had the keys to Madison's Ferrari 360 Modena, so he could just drive that supercar to New York.
But when Roy got to the yard, he saw something that made his jaw drop. His beat-up yellow Chevrolet Camaro was parked right in front of the door.
"What the heck?"
Roy rubbed his eyes, thinking he was still messed up from his dream and hallucinating.
But after double-checking, Roy confirmed he wasn't mistaken. It really was his Chevrolet Camaro.
In the vast multiverse, there was only one Chevrolet Camaro that special: Bumblebee from Transformers!
So, his ride was actually Bumblebee?
That was seriously awesome!
What kid hasn't dreamed of driving a Transformer?
He just wondered why Bumblebee would go all the way to Boston and reveal his identity.
Roy thought about it for a moment, but it just made his head spin more, so he stopped thinking and just got into the Chevrolet Camaro.
"Take me to New York!"
Today, Roy was going to experience self-driving. As for Madison's Ferrari 360 Modena, he could just leave it parked in front of the apartment.
The Chevrolet Camaro started automatically, and the radio began flipping through stations.
Roy remembered that in the Transformers movie, Bumblebee's voice module was busted, so he couldn't talk and had to use the radio to express himself.
After listening to the radio for a while, Roy got a general idea of what Bumblebee was trying to say.
"You need my help? But how am I supposed to help you?"
Roy was on the magic side of things, while Bumblebee was clearly sci-fi. The two were completely unrelated.
Besides, Roy thought it was weird enough that Transformers even existed in this American Horror Story world.
Bumblebee started switching radio stations again, roughly conveying that something terrible had happened to his home planet, so he was sent as a vanguard to find a new home. However, he malfunctioned upon entering Earth's atmosphere and had only recently been mostly repaired.
Then, Bumblebee tried to contact his commander (Optimus Prime) but found that the signal seemed to be completely blocked by some kind of interference.
This situation seemed pretty similar to the plot of the first Transformers movie Roy had seen.
"So, what exactly do you want me to help you with?"
"I received a message sent six months ago. The message indicated that because I was out of contact, my commander sent three more soldiers to Earth to investigate. But I can't reach them. Sir, I hope you can help me find them!"
Roy thought for a moment. He figured Bumblebee's companions had most likely run into some trouble – either malfunctioning like Bumblebee or being captured by some organization for research.
"Alright, I can help you out. But what's in it for me?"
"I apologize, I don't have anything to offer as payment. However, I can be your mode of transportation until the end of your life!"
Roy raised an eyebrow. Bumblebee probably thought he was like a regular human who would only live for a hundred years or so at most.
The short lifespan of carbon-based life forms, a mere few decades or a century, was indeed far inferior to the near-infinite lifespan of silicon-based life forms. The problem was, Roy was a Nephilim!
Putting aside everything else, Adam lived to be 930 years old. It wouldn't be unreasonable for Roy to live for a thousand years, right?
"Okay, deal! I'll help you find your companions, but I've got some things I need to take care of first, so it'll have to wait a bit!"
"No problem!"
Silicon-based life forms probably had a different concept of time than humans, so Bumblebee didn't object.
"Do you have any detailed information about those three companions?"
There were so many Autobots. If he didn't have specific targets, it would be way too much trouble to find them.
"I can transmit the information wirelessly to your electronic devices."
So, he'd need a laptop then?
Roy didn't have a laptop with him at the moment, so he couldn't receive the information.
Oh well, it wasn't urgent anyway. He could deal with it after returning to Waterfall Town.
Self-driving was awesome. He arrived in New York easily and without any hassle.
Once in New York, Roy first found a FedEx station to pick up Lambert's fax.
FedEx stations offered 24-hour internet, printing, and fax services, which were very convenient for emergencies.
After filling out the faxed documents and sending them back, Lambert called to confirm that the registration was complete and Roy could compete normally the next day.
Lambert also mentioned that he and Allen had already booked their flights and were preparing to come to New York.
Roy had just hung up with Lambert when Jennifer's phone rang.
"Roy, you went to New York?"
"Yeah, the world qualifiers are tomorrow, and the venue's in New York."
"But I'm already in Boston!"
"Let Lilith come to the phone and talk to me."
There was a moment of silence on the other end, and then a mature and charming voice replaced Jennifer's.
"Roy, it's Lilith."
"Lilith, I rented an apartment outside the witch school. You can wait for me there and observe what's going on inside."
Even though Roy had the apartment key right now, a small door shouldn't be a problem for a witch.
"Okay, when will you be able to come back?"
"That depends on how many matches I have in the world qualifiers. To be honest, I don't even know the competition rules yet."
"Alright, then I'll wait for you in the apartment. I'll contact you immediately if anything happens."
After dealing with everything, Roy found a hotel in New York and settled in, waiting for the competition the next day.
"Roy, are you ready?"
Lambert and Allen looked at Roy with concern. Roy's performance was crucial for their potential rise to fame, so their concern was understandable.
Roy did look a bit worn out. He hadn't slept well the previous night due to the mental attack from the crimson eyeball in his dream.
However, Roy's mental state had actually recovered quite a bit. He felt much better than the day before, no longer having that just-went-bungee-jumping feeling.
"I'm fine, I just didn't sleep well last night."
Allen didn't think much of it, assuming Roy was just a little nervous. After all, the world qualifiers determined whether Roy could go to the Olympics.
"Alright, let me tell you about the rules of the world qualifiers. The boxing association selected a total of sixteen amateur boxers for this event. You're the only one who's not a college athlete."
Since professional boxers couldn't participate in the Olympics, only college athletes were eligible.
"Sixteen fighters, so that means I'll have to fight four matches to qualify?"
"That's right, and only the first place winner gets to go to the Olympics. Everyone else is just there for show. This shouldn't be a problem for you!"
Roy nodded.
After all, the really good boxers had already secured their Olympic spots through intercontinental competitions. The current world qualifiers were mostly for those who hadn't made it yet, and most were just hoping for a chance to show their face at the Olympics.
Seeing Roy's somewhat too relaxed attitude, Allen reminded him,
"Don't let your guard down! There are still some good fighters in these world qualifiers. I have some information here for you to look at. Also, this world qualifier is pretty packed. You only get one day of rest after each match, and it'll all be over in a week, so you need to conserve your energy. Don't go pulling any fancy, unnecessary stunts."
Roy took the information Lambert handed him and glanced at it casually.
Just then, a staff member came over to remind them that the pre-match weigh-in ceremony was about to begin.
Since it was the world qualifiers, the rules were stricter, and a weigh-in was required before the official matches.
Roy left the休息室 (restroom/lounge) and went to the weigh-in area.
It was indeed the Olympic world qualifiers. There were actually a few media outlets taking photos and a TV station broadcasting live, although there weren't many spectators.
Perhaps it was because the world qualifiers weren't heavily promoted, so most people didn't know about the event. The people who were there to watch were mostly boxing fans.
Roy's appearance immediately drew the attention of all the media and spectators.
It couldn't be helped. Heavyweight boxers were usually intimidating and rough-looking, so someone as handsome and dashing as Roy was a rare sight.
A boxer who was being interviewed suddenly noticed the reporters leaving him and rushing over to Roy.
As a result, Roy attracted the animosity of all the boxers present. Each one gritted their teeth, wanting to teach Roy a lesson.
Busy with interviews, Roy didn't notice a woman in the audience who froze in place when she saw him, tears streaming down her face.
"Is it you?"
After the weigh-in ceremony, it was time for the draw.
Roy drew number six, which meant he would be competing in the third match.
Roy wasn't particularly happy with this draw. He would have preferred to draw number one or two. Since he didn't care who he fought, he figured he might as well get it over with sooner.
On the other hand, the boxer who drew number five was very happy. He really wanted to teach Roy a lesson.
After watching several dozen minutes of boring matches, Roy was almost falling asleep when it was finally his turn to go on.
"Roy's up! Take him down!"
"Finish him in three seconds!"
Roy stepped into the ring. His opponent was a Black man.
Most boxers in America were Black, and over half of the boxers present were Black.
And this was just the amateur boxing scene; there were even more Black boxers in the professional circuit.
Roy and the Black man faced each other. The opponent flashed a menacing smile that could make kids cry.
"Pretty boy, I'm gonna flatten your face with one punch and make you regret ever signing up for these world qualifiers!"
While the referee was explaining the rules and prohibitions, the Black man suddenly started taunting him.
Roy, seeing him as just another nameless extra, yawned.
"Shut up, you n-word!"
This made the Black man's face turn green with anger. He immediately pointed at Roy and roared at the referee.
"Ref, he called me the n-word!"
The referee looked at the Black man with a speechless expression. He was a referee sent by the International Boxing Association and wasn't American himself, so he naturally didn't care about American political correctness.
Touching his face where the Black man had spat, he said,
"The rules don't say you can't use the word 'n-word'! However, if you spit on my face again, I'm going to give you a foul!"
The Black man was so angry he felt like his lungs were about to explode, but he could only swallow his anger.
After all, getting a foul just for spitting would be a huge loss.
Fortunately, the referee quickly announced the start of the match. The Black man felt confident he could beat the annoying pretty boy in front of him.
Then, the Black man suddenly saw a flash before his eyes, and a fist kept getting bigger in his vision. He instinctively tried to block the punch with his arm, and he succeeded.
But another punch came from the side, bypassing the Black man's arm and hitting him squarely on the cheek.
Boom!
The Black man's face, even with the protective headgear, visibly deformed upon impact, and his body was instantly lifted off the ground by Roy's punch.
The next second, the Black man fell heavily to the ground, and the entire arena went silent.
Even the referee was stunned by this scene and completely forgot his job.
"Aren't you going to count?"
Roy looked at the referee with dissatisfaction. How could this referee be so unprofessional?
Reminded by Roy, the referee finally snapped out of it and began the count.
After ten seconds, the referee announced Roy as the winner by knockout.
Bumblebee
Chapter 215: Beautiful Things Should Be Appreciated
"How many seconds did I just take?"
After stepping off the stage, Roy asked Alan, who was holding a stopwatch.
"2.3 seconds, nice job, Roy!"
"Not bad. I'm going back to rest. See you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow."
Roy shook off the reporters who were trying to surround him and hurried to the locker room to take off his protective gear. He changed into his regular clothes and left the sports arena.
Arriving at the parking lot, Roy had just gotten into his ride when the passenger door suddenly opened, and someone sat down.
Roy was about to remark on how rude New Yorkers could be when he saw that the woman in the passenger seat had red eyes.
"Roy, is that you?"
That's right, the woman was Claire.
After the plane accident, most of the passengers weren't seriously injured, so they were discharged from the hospital quickly.
Claire, still affected by the plane crash, didn't feel like attending any psychology seminars. She had originally planned to leave New York, this place of bad memories, and return to Austin. But then she suddenly remembered Roy mentioning he was a boxer and saw the news about the Olympic world qualifying matches.
So, Claire, on a whim, came to the world qualifying match venue to watch the competition and happened to see Roy compete.
Until just before getting into the car, Claire still found it a bit unbelievable. Although the moment she asked the question, she was already certain that the man in front of her was the one she had been longing for.
"Yeah, it's me."
The familiar voice rang in her ears, and Claire couldn't control her emotions any longer, embracing Roy.
"I thought you were dead! Why? Why didn't you come find me?"
Roy felt a little awkward. The reason he hadn't gone to find Claire at first was because she would definitely have had airline personnel and media around her right after being rescued, and he was worried about being recognized.
He thought he'd wait until the buzz around the plane crash died down before looking for Claire.
Later, after arriving in Boston, Roy got busy with the witch school and forgot about it.
"I'm sorry, this is my—"
Roy was about to apologize when Claire kissed him on the lips. Some tears flowed into Roy's mouth, salty and a bit bitter.
But this didn't stop Claire from conveying her longing to Roy through a passionate kiss.
At this moment, Bumblebee automatically turned on the car radio and started playing romantic soft music, adding to the atmosphere for Roy and Claire.
A mature car knows how to be a good wingman.
It took a long while before Claire reluctantly let go of Roy. Although this psychologist loved sports and working out, her lung capacity had its limits after all.
Claire was now a bit out of breath because of the deep kiss.
Leaning on Roy's shoulder, Claire breathed softly, her eyes glazed.
"It feels like a dream. I'm so afraid I'll wake up and lose you again!"
Claire reached out and caressed Roy's cheek, as if only that could make her feel it was real.
Want to feel real? Easy! Roy had a huge sense of reality!
But at this moment, Roy suddenly heard the sound of a flash. Turning his head, he saw someone secretly taking pictures.
This was way too unethical!
Roy immediately got out of the car, wanting to take back the photos. The person turned and ran, but how could they outrun Roy?
The paparazzi had run for less than three seconds before Roy grabbed their shoulder.
"Give me the camera right now!"
"You, you leave me alone! If you dare touch me, I'll report you to the International Boxing Association and get you disqualified!"
The guy hugged the camera and backed away慌乱地.
The fists of professional boxers are no joke, especially heavyweight boxers. One punch can really scramble an ordinary person's brains.
This guy, could he be a reporter?
Claire hurried up from behind, wanting to dissuade Roy.
"Roy, can you please not fight? Otherwise, you'll be suspended!"
"See, see that? If you don't want to be suspended, stay away from me!"
Someone actually used Roy's identity as a boxer to threaten him. This was the first time something like this had happened, and it could be considered one of the troubles of fame.
It was precisely because he had shone brightly in the world qualifying matches that a reporter chose to follow Roy and take pictures of him secretly.
He figured that once Roy stepped onto the Olympic stage, this kind of thing would happen frequently, so he would have to change his approach in the future, at least not be as casual as before.
But for now, he still needed to deal with this audacious reporter first.
"Look into my eyes!"
In the darkness, the reporter suddenly noticed that Roy's pupils seemed to change color. Then, he saw the handsome man in front of him transform into a terrifying red skull.
"Ah—!"
A scream pierced the night sky. When the reporter came back to his senses, he found that Roy and Claire, as well as the camera in his hand, were all gone.
The reporter scratched the back of his head in confusion.
"Did I take too many drugs?"
At this time, Roy was already driving Claire back to the hotel.
What had just happened caused the atmosphere between them to cool down slightly, and the car became silent.
After a while, Claire suddenly spoke.
"Roy, so you're really a demon?"
Roy raised an eyebrow. He guessed that Claire must have seen his transformation on the plane, so there was no need to hide it.
"Yes, are you scared?"
Claire reached out and placed her hand on Roy's.
"Maybe I'm crazy, but compared to being afraid that you're a demon, I'm more afraid of losing you!"
Roy turned his head and saw Claire's affectionate gaze, which instantly made him feel a strong urge to switch to autopilot.
Fortunately, Roy managed to restrain himself in the end.
Entering the hotel, Roy and Claire started kissing in the elevator, nearly getting carried away.
Finally, sheer willpower allowed Roy to carry Claire back to the hotel room before the final showdown began.
Just as Claire had said on the plane, she was indeed a good girl. Her kissing skills and everything else seemed very inexperienced.
When they kissed in the car earlier, Roy had thought it was because Claire was emotionally overwhelmed that she seemed so rough. Now it seemed that she might never have kissed anyone before.
This was really rare in America. Roy had seen his share of things, but only Jennifer and Needy were completely inexperienced girls.
Considering that Claire was only 26 years old but already had a doctorate in psychology, it showed that she was likely the type of academic genius. Girls with their minds full of studying weren't very popular during their school days, and Needy was in a similar situation.
Quickly stripping Claire bare, the female doctor covered her face with her hands, not daring to look at Roy. Her fair skin turned pink with shyness.
Roy looked at Claire with admiring eyes. She was truly radiant.
"Can you, can you not look at me like that?"
"Why? Such beautiful things should be appreciated properly!"
Claire couldn't say anything at this point. Despite being so bold when she initiated things earlier, she was now a bit scared at this moment.
Roy naturally wouldn't let Claire back down. He single-handedly loaded the breech-loading cannon and then laid siege to the city!
Because she was scared, Claire didn't dare to open her eyes at all, so she was completely unprepared. This almost scared her soul away.
"Ah! It hurts!"
Claire burst into tears on the spot.
Roy was also full of surprise because he could clearly feel that he had broken through the Maginot Line.
This was actually...
Roy quickly controlled himself, avoiding causing more trauma to the new recruit.
After all, this caliber was no joke; it was too terrifying for a female recruit going into battle for the first time.
Fortunately, Claire usually liked sports and had a habit of working out, even having visible abs.
Plus, being in her twenties also made Claire's adaptability quite strong.
So, a few minutes later, Claire successfully adapted to the battlefield.
Then, what happened next goes without saying. Large-caliber artillery continuously provided saturated fire coverage, causing Claire to be utterly defeated.
Helpless, Claire could only retreat constantly, to the point where she later chose to breach the dikes, trying to use a flood to stop the enemy.
But doing so was just hurting herself as much as the enemy. The only thing Claire could really do was raise a white flag and surrender.
Roy naturally wouldn't miss this opportunity to press his advantage. He wouldn't let the enemy pull off a Dunkirk evacuation.
So, Claire's final fate was to lose consciousness while submerged in the sea.
【Ding! Obtained Claire Sheffield's Conquest Treasure Chest! Open it?】
Working overtime like this all night, Roy was really exhausted, so tired that he didn't finish until the sky was beginning to light up.
At this time, the quilt was completely soaked.
Roy had no choice but to throw the quilt on the floor and find a blanket to cover the sleeping Claire.
He had obtained another conquest treasure chest. Adding this one, Roy now had four treasure chests. It was about time to open them and see what was inside.
He felt that the quality of this batch of treasure chests should be pretty good.
However, Roy hoped that he wouldn't draw Zoe's Black Widow ability.
Same old routine, still had to pet the little kitty first. Today, the little kitty seemed to have fallen into the water, all wet.
【Opening Madison's Conquest Treasure Chest…】
【Obtained 1 Memory Attribute Point!】
【Obtained 2 Spirit Attribute Points!】
Unfortunately, he didn't get Madison's telekinesis ability. That ability was indeed strong.
But then he thought about it, the telekinesis ability should still depend on the Spirit attribute, and Roy's Spirit attribute didn't seem to be particularly outstanding.
【Opening Zoe's Conquest Treasure Chest…】
【Obtained 2 Memory Attribute Points!】
【Obtained 1 Willpower Attribute Point!】
Okay, this was the first time Roy had hoped that a treasure chest wouldn't yield anything.
Fortunately, it didn't yield anything, but this also meant that he hadn't gotten anything from two consecutive treasure chests.
Was this good luck or bad luck?
【Opening Maria's Conquest Treasure Chest…】
【Obtained 3 Spirit Attribute Points!】
【Obtained 1 Willpower Attribute Point!】
【Obtained Special Ability: Soul Doppelganger!】
Finally, something good! But all three witches had yielded Spirit-type attribute points, which also led to Roy's Spirit attribute surpassing his Willpower and Strength attributes, becoming his second-highest attribute.
【Soul Doppelganger: A special talent from Maria and Alan, allowing you to separate a portion of your soul to become a special doppelganger for combat. The soul doppelganger exists in a special space, cannot be hit by physical attacks, but can attack enemies and ignore part of the target's defense. The strength of the soul doppelganger depends on the Spirit attribute invested. When using the soul doppelganger, you will temporarily lose the invested Spirit attribute points.】
This new ability sounded complicated just from the description. Roy thought it would be better to try it out.
A sharp pain appeared in his mind, and then a black phantom appeared beside the bed. Judging from the figure, this black phantom should be Roy, but its facial features were unclear.
This black phantom could share Roy's vision and hearing, just like an invisible clone that could use various fighting skills, except it couldn't use weapons, and its physical qualities were also somewhat inferior to Roy's.
Roy had now invested 10 Spirit attribute points, and the black phantom's overall physical qualities were also around 10 points, similar to an untrained ordinary person.
After investing 20 Spirit attribute points, the black phantom's overall physical qualities also reached 20 points. This strength indeed depended on the invested Spirit attribute.
So, if he invested 50 Spirit attribute points, wouldn't he have two Roys fighting?
Unfortunately, that was just wishful thinking!
Once the Spirit attribute was invested in the soul doppelganger, Roy would temporarily lose that portion of the attribute. This also meant that investing too many Spirit attribute points would prevent him from using other special abilities.
Such as the magic circle of the Key of Solomon, the bullet time of the Assassin's Heart, and the Touch of Darkness.
These were all big mana consumers!
Therefore, when Roy fought, he would at most invest 20 Spirit attribute points in the soul doppelganger, which was equivalent to the combat power of a human at their peak.
After all, he wasn't Maria. Maria had two souls in one body, with the soul of her twin sister Alan also inside her, so she didn't have to worry at all about how much spiritual power to invest in the soul doppelganger.
Overall, this ability was still good, especially for sneak attacks, where it was completely silent and invisible. It might be able to turn the tide at a critical moment.
The last treasure chest!
【Opening Claire Sheffield's Conquest Treasure Chest…】
【Obtained 1 Agility Attribute Point!】
【Obtained 3 Willpower Attribute Points!】
【Obtained Special Ability: Selina Kyle's Athletic Skills!】
Another good one!
But when Roy saw the special ability that had just been unlocked, a strange smile appeared on his face.
Well, Anne Hathaway, who played Claire, did indeed play Catwoman in the movie "The Dark Knight Rises," and Roy had a strong impression of that version of Catwoman. But he hadn't expected Claire's first treasure chest to unlock Catwoman's abilities.
【Selina Kyle's Athletic Skills: Athletic skills from Catwoman Selina Kyle, allowing you to gain top-notch physical flexibility and coordination, maintaining body balance in any situation.】
This special ability made up for some of Roy's shortcomings. Roy's physical flexibility and coordination had never been outstanding, and his fighting style was basically relying on brute force.
Currently, Roy could solve most battles with just his strength, but what if he encountered something that strength couldn't handle in the future?
Being able to make up for weaknesses was ultimately a good thing.
Roy glanced at Claire's charming face in peaceful sleep beside him, and an idea popped into his head.
He had to find an opportunity to have Claire cosplay as Catwoman!
