"Damn you!"
Captain Kuro was the type who absolutely hated being insulted.
So, seeing that Kazama dared to call him a mongrel and a bastard, how could Captain Kuro not be furious?
Immediately, Captain Kuro ordered his subordinates to attack Luffy.
Now, don't let the flashy clothes and bizarre appearance of the hypnotist Zango fool you.
His hypnosis skills were seriously top-notch, incredibly powerful.
In the blink of an eye, he unleashed his most potent hypnosis on Kazama and the others.
"From this moment, when I finish counting Kazama, Luffy, Zango, all of you will fall unconscious! One, two... Zango!"
As hypnotist Zango's voice fell, the rings in his hands stopped swaying.
In that instant, Luffy, Zoro, and Nami all collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
However, to Zango's surprise, while Luffy and the others had fallen, Kazama was still standing there unharmed, a scornful smile on his face.
This immediately enraged hypnotist Zango.
After all, Zango had immense confidence in his hypnosis.
In the past, his hypnosis had always been successful; no one dared to act tough in front of him.
But he never expected that his hypnosis would fail to affect Kazama in the slightest. How could he not be furious?
So, hypnotist Zango pointed his finger at Kazama's nose and shouted loudly, "How is this possible?! How could you withstand my genjutsu?!"
"Heh heh heh, that's because your hypnosis is utter garbage compared to my genjutsu!"
"What? Genjutsu?"
Hearing Kazama's words, hypnotist Zango was immediately taken aback once again.
Because he had never heard of anything called genjutsu.
So, he immediately looked towards Kazama.
And what he saw made cold sweat pour down Zango's face.
Because Kazama's previously jet-black eyes had, in that moment, transformed into scarlet eyes with three tomoe.
This instantly terrified Zango, causing him to break out in a cold sweat.
He had never seen such strange eyes before.
Now, the reason Kazama was able to resist Zango's hypnosis was because Kazama had activated his Sharingan.
In front of Kazama's Sharingan, how could mere hypnosis possibly affect him?
However, since Zango wasn't from the world of Naruto,
he had no idea what Kazama's Sharingan meant.
Therefore, he thought Kazama was just putting on a show.
So, he immediately pointed his finger at Kazama's nose again and cursed, "You little brat! You think wearing colored contacts makes you tough in front of me? Next, I'm going to crush your bones to dust!"
As Zango said this, he charged towards Kazama.
But what Zango never expected was that the moment Kazama's three-tomoe Sharingan rotated,
it directly trapped Zango in a genjutsu.
At this point, all of Zango's five senses were controlled, and in the blink of an eye, Zango directly collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
"Hmph, what a useless fellow!"
Seeing Zango defeated so easily by Kazama, Captain Kuro immediately thought Zango was utterly useless.
But what he didn't know was that it wasn't that Zango was useless, but rather that Kazama was just too powerful.
Chapter 417: Sharingan VS The Hypnotist
"Don't you dare try to act all high and mighty here!" Kazama shot back with a grin, hearing Captain Kuro's cold scoff. "If you ever faced me, you'd be getting flattened just as easily!"
"This is infuriating!" Captain Kuro had never even considered Kazama a threat, always looking down on him. But to be mocked like this? His anger flared even more!
"You little punk," Captain Kuro roared at Kazama. "Do you actually think defeating that Jango can shatter my grand plan? I'm telling you, that's absolutely impossible!"
"Heh, whether it's possible or not isn't up to you to decide, it's up to me!"
Just as Kazama was about to launch his own attack on Captain Kuro, the pirate captain waved his hand again. From behind him emerged two men dressed like demonic cats—one plump and short, the other thin and tall, both with bizarre appearances. Kazama simply chuckled upon seeing them. He knew these two very well, too.
"Could you two be the legendary Nekomata Kyodai?"
"Heh, who knew our names would be so renowned! Even a little punk like you recognizes us!" The Nekomata Kyodai burst into triumphant laughter the moment Kazama uttered their names, believing they had already achieved fame across the seas.
At first, Kazama had actually considered that if these Nekomata Kyodai were truly powerful, he might be able to recruit them and have them as his allies. But to his surprise, these "demonic cat" brothers turned out to be incredibly arrogant and full of themselves. Kazama had approached them with good intentions, speaking to them kindly, yet these punks dared to curse him! How could Kazama not be annoyed?
So, in the blink of an eye, Kazama unleashed his strongest Genjutsu, Betsu-Tenjin, upon the Nekomata Kyodai. He then issued a clear command: attack Captain Kuro!
Captain Kuro, meanwhile, had initially thought that no matter how incredible Kazama was, he couldn't possibly control the Nekomata Kyodai. He never expected that Kazama would not only seize control of them but even turn them against him! This completely shattered Captain Kuro's expectations and utterly flipped his understanding of the world. He never imagined Kazama's power could be so incredible, so terrifying, and cold sweat poured down his face.
And while the Nekomata Kyodai might have been formidable in their own right, they were still a step below Captain Kuro. In a flash, Captain Kuro dodged their attacks, skillfully using his ten-fingered Neko-te to cut them down to the ground.
Then, just as quickly, Captain Kuro charged straight at Kazama. At that exact moment, Luffy, Zoro, and Nami finally snapped awake. They had intended to help Kazama deal with Captain Kuro, knowing that if he was the leader of the Nekomata Kyodai, his strength had to be extraordinary.
However, they didn't realize just how utterly monstrous Captain Kuro's power truly was—it far exceeded anything they could have imagined. In fact, they hadn't even fully grasped what was happening yet!
Chapter 418: Curb-Stomping Captain Kuro
They immediately noticed that Captain Kuro had vanished right before their eyes, only to reappear behind the three of them, naturally shocking them to their core.
After all, they had never witnessed such terrifying speed before.
Meanwhile, Captain Kuro was a cunning individual.
He knew that Kazama's strength was exceptionally high. Even with his own lightning-fast speed, he might not be able to defeat Kazama with a single blow.
Therefore, he figured it would be better to go after the easy targets first – Luffy and his companions.
He reasoned that if he attacked Luffy and the others, Kazama would definitely rush to their rescue.
This would create an opening for Kazama, allowing him to obliterate him completely.
"Heh heh heh," Captain Kuro sneered, "You little brats think that just because you're strong, you can act tough in front of Captain Kuro? Let me tell you, in this world, all techniques are breakable, except for speed! So, no matter how powerful your attacks are, they can't compare to my super speed!"
As Captain Kuro spoke, he immediately prepared to use his Silent Step to strike down Luffy and the others.
But in that critical moment, Luffy and his crew suddenly vanished from his sight.
Then, he realized an even more terrifying truth.
It wasn't Luffy and the others who had disappeared; it was him.
It turned out that Captain Kuro had been forced to instantly teleport from behind Luffy and his friends to the spot where Kazama had been standing just moments before.
And at the same time, Kazama had moved to stand behind Luffy and the others.
This sudden turn of events caused cold sweat to pour down Captain Kuro's face in astonishment.
Before Captain Kuro could even react, Kazama used his Body Flicker Technique again, appearing right behind the captain.
"I won't deny that your speed is indeed very fast, truly impressive," Kazama said calmly, "but in my eyes, your speed is still as slow as a snail. And even if I can't block your attacks, I can make your attacks completely lose their target. If your attacks have no target, then how can you possibly strike me? How can you strike my comrades?"
"This is infuriating!"
At this point, Captain Kuro had never anticipated that Kazama would actually be this formidable, this powerful.
This was far beyond his expectations.
Driven mad, Captain Kuro charged at Kazama once more.
"You spiky-haired brat! You really think that by using that so-called position-swapping trick, you can act tough in front of me? Let me tell you, that's absolutely impossible! Now, I'll show you my ultimate attack – the indiscriminate assault of the Silent Step!"
With a furious roar, Captain Kuro's incredible speed and his cat-claw attacks hurtled towards Kazama.
At this point, Captain Kuro's speed was so immense that even he couldn't pinpoint his own target.
His speed had surpassed the limits of the human body.
But no matter how strong or skilled Captain Kuro was, in front of Kazama, he was still as weak as an ant.
After all, Kazama had already activated his Sharingan.
Therefore, in the face of the Sharingan, no matter how fast Captain Kuro's speed was, it was utterly useless.
Meanwhile, Kazama wanted to test just how powerful Captain Kuro's attack truly was.
So, he remained standing in place, without dodging.
In the blink of an eye, Captain Kuro's attack connected with the top of Kazama's head.
Seeing Kazama actually get hit by Captain Kuro, Luffy and the others were instantly drenched in cold sweat from shock.
They hurriedly began shouting Kazama's name.
And at that moment, Captain Kuro, seeing that his attack had successfully struck Kazama, was overjoyed.
"Hahaha, you little punk! Although your strength is considerable, your combat experience is too poor, utterly trash! You thought you could block my attack, but I'm here to tell you, it's impossible! Because in my eyes, you're just garbage, a good-for-nothing!"
But just as Captain Kuro was shamelessly boasting and convinced that Kazama would surely die by his hand...
An unbelievable scene suddenly unfolded.
Chapter 419: Exotic Flame: Instant Kill on Captain Kuro
As it turned out, even though Captain Kuro's attack landed squarely on Kazama, our hero was completely unharmed. Not only was he without a single scratch, but he hadn't even moved from his spot! This sent a shockwave through Captain Kuro's heart and made cold sweat pour down the faces of Luffy, Zoro, and Nami on the sidelines.
They had believed that no matter how incredible Kazama was, he couldn't possibly withstand such a fierce assault from Captain Kuro. But now, they realized they had truly underestimated him. Kazama's imperviousness to attacks was absolutely insane, allowing him to simply stand there and shrug off Captain Kuro's offensive!
Captain Kuro himself was now trembling all over, cold sweat dripping. Then, to his horror, he discovered that his ten Neko-te, the very claws he used to strike Kazama, had been completely shattered into pieces by the impact with Kazama's body! This, naturally, left Captain Kuro utterly dumbfounded.
He began scrutinizing Kazama from head to toe, then, filled with shock, he roared, "How is this possible?! How could a mere punk like you possess such incredible power?!"
"Heh, you don't need to worry about how I got this power. All you need to know is that I, Kazama, am a man of unwavering resolve! I told you before that I didn't want to finish you off, hoping you'd see the error of your ways. But you, you damn fool, you just kept attacking me! Now, even if I wanted to let you keep your pathetic life, it's simply out of the question!"
"Cut the crap, you damn fool!" Captain Kuro seethed. Not only had Kazama blocked his attack and made a fool of him, but he even dared to mock him right to his face! This sent Captain Kuro into a furious rage.
So, Captain Kuro lunged at Kazama once more, instantly launching another barrage. At this point, Captain Kuro was like a rabid dog. Even though he knew he was no match for Kazama, he kept attacking relentlessly, as if he wanted to tear Kazama limb from limb and scatter his ashes. But he didn't realize that Kazama wasn't some pushover. If Kazama could block his attacks, then he could certainly pummel Captain Kuro with ease.
Too bad Captain Kuro thought Kazama only possessed invulnerability and incredible speed. He never anticipated that Kazama's offensive speed was equally devastating. Seeing Captain Kuro's utter shamelessness, still trying to act tough even though he clearly wasn't a match, Kazama certainly wouldn't indulge him. So, in the blink of an eye, Kazama used his overwhelming power to effortlessly strike Captain Kuro down to the ground.
Upon realizing that he truly was no match for Kazama, Captain Kuro quickly grabbed Miss Kaya, who was nearby. A cold smirk spread across his face as he spoke to Kazama. "You little punk, you truly surprise me! You're incredibly strong, I have to admit, I'm genuinely impressed. But unfortunately, even if I, Captain Kuro, am impressed, there's no way I'll let you dictate my actions. So, if you're smart, you'll immediately bow down, beg for mercy, and then take your own life to atone for your sins. Maybe then I'll spare the lives of the townsfolk, including this Miss Kaya. But if you persist in your delusion, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
Just as Captain Kuro thought he could use Miss Kaya as a hostage to threaten Kazama...
Chapter 420: Usopp, the King of Tall Tales
He hadn't anticipated that Kazama would once again use his unexpected space-swapping technique.
This was none other than Kazama's unique Six-Tomoe Rinnegan ability, Amenotejikara.
Before Captain Kuro could even react, Kazama instantly swapped places with Miss Kaya in the blink of an eye.
"What? How is this possible?!"
Captain Kuro was utterly horrified when he realized that the person he was holding hostage wasn't Miss Kaya, but Kazama himself. Cold sweat poured down his face.
At this moment, Kazama immediately sneered at him, saying, "I thought that even someone as despicable as you would have a shred of decency. But I never imagined that after spending three years by Miss Kaya's side, even as a steward, and despite her kindness towards you, you would be so utterly heartless! To harm Miss Kaya's life just to obtain her family's wealth... this is truly unforgivable!"
"Stop spouting nonsense at me!"
Seeing himself so close to Kazama, Captain Kuro immediately tried to escape.
He knew that at such close range, he would have no chance of attacking Kazama.
However, he hadn't realized that no one could escape Kazama's grasp.
Before Captain Kuro could react, Kazama unleashed the otherworldly Vermillion-Yellow Flame upon him.
Although the Vermillion-Yellow Flame was the lowest rank among the otherworldly flames, it was more than enough to incinerate Captain Kuro into ashes.
Meanwhile, Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and the others were even more astonished to see Kazama using fire-based attacks.
They all now believed that Kazama was a true celestial being.
After all, in the world of One Piece, even the most powerful individuals usually only possessed one type of ability.
For example, the Four Emperors, the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and the renowned Marine Admirals – no matter how strong they were, they only had one specific power.
But now, Kazama's abilities were so numerous and dazzling that the group was naturally overwhelmed with amazement.
At this moment, Miss Kaya, seeing that Kazama had saved her, was naturally filled with gratitude towards him.
And Kazama, being a kind-hearted person, couldn't stand by and watch Miss Kaya be killed by the ruthless Captain Kuro.
So, Kazama smiled and nodded at Miss Kaya.
"Don't worry about thanking me, Miss Kaya," Kazama said with a smile. "Being a man, if I see injustice, I should draw my sword to help!"
"Well said!"
Usopp immediately came excitedly to Kazama's side.
Although Usopp had initially submitted to Kazama due to his overwhelming strength, he had now witnessed Kazama save the person he cared for deeply.
Seeing Kazama's kindness and heroic actions, Usopp was genuinely filled with admiration for him and naturally wanted to become Kazama's subordinate.
At this moment, Kazama, seeing that Usopp had sincerely submitted to him, nodded happily.
Then, Usopp began his usual boasting.
"Miss Kaya," Usopp began dramatically, "originally, I wanted to stay here and take care of you forever. But as you know, Kazama, Luffy, Zoro, and the others are all my subordinates now. They came all the way here insisting that I join them on their voyage. Without me, they can't set sail, they can't become pirates, so I have no choice but to go with them!"
