World Government!
The news of Rob Lucci’s capture reached the Five Elder Stars in no time!
“Damn it!”
The horned-mustache Elder Star slammed the table, roaring with fury!
His already flushed face turned an even deeper shade of red!
His eyes burned with murderous intent!
“Getting angry won’t solve anything. We’re in a bad spot right now!”
“With Beasts Kaido taken down, Impel Down’s under immense pressure, and we’re short on forces.”
“And Yoru’s quickly filled the void left by Kaido. The New World might seem stable on the surface, but…”
“Underneath, the Revolutionary Army’s stirring, ready to make their move!”
“The seas are turbulent, with storms brewing in the shadows.”
“Whitebeard’s single sentence sparked a new era, and in this new era, Yoru’s the brightest star!”
The Elder Star clutching the First Kitetsu spoke calmly.
“So what do we do?”
The horned-mustache Elder Star growled, frustration clear in his voice.
“Ransom Rob Lucci back. If that’s not possible… we’ll have to abandon him.”
The Elder Star with the First Kitetsu adjusted his glasses as he spoke.
“It’s the only way.”
The others nodded, agreeing to the plan.
…
Night Island!
Yoru and his crew had just arrived, barely settling in.
All across the world, news birds took flight, scattering bounty posters far and wide!
Yonko “Lightning Killer” Yoru, bounty: 2.7 billion Berries!
Three Heavenly Generals: “Lightning Bird” Nous, bounty: 1.312 billion Berries!
Three Heavenly Generals: “Dark Queen” Ruri, bounty: 1.188 billion Berries!
Three Heavenly Generals: “Fighting Champion” Bashas, bounty: 949 million Berries!
Five Generals: “Ulti,” bounty: 650 million Berries!
(Foz Foz, Sasaki, and Page One, former Tobi Roppo, each with bounties of 500 million Berries or higher.)
Five Generals: “Lion” Doggs, bounty: 468 million Berries!
Five Generals: “Wet-Haired” Caribou, bounty: 389 million Berries!
…
Ten Knights: “Bagenda,” bounty: 240 million Berries!
Ten Knights: “Jado,” bounty: 234 million Berries!
Ten Knights: “Black Blade Chak,” bounty: 230 million Berries!
…
And beyond that…
Among the Ten Knights, like Cold Sword Agades, Mammoth Zoan Maan, Zebra Zoan Druk, and Bat Fruit Zoan Zagus…
Their bounties ranged between 100 and 200 million Berries!
Absolutely terrifying!
“Oh, my bounty went up again? Not bad!”
Yoru held his bounty poster, grinning.
He wasn’t surprised by the increase.
Even 2.7 billion Berries didn’t faze him!
What did catch him off guard was the World Government officially recognizing him as a Yonko!
But that was just a minor surprise.
“Alright, brothers, let’s build up Night Island!”
“Send people to secure all the territories we control. We can’t let anyone snatch them away!”
Yoru’s first order upon arriving at Night Island was to solidify his hold over his domains.
“Yes, Boss Yoru!”
His crew shouted back, buzzing with excitement.
They were finally part of a Yonko pirate crew!
Talk about prestige!
“Captain, what’s next?”
One of the Three Heavenly Generals, “Dark Queen” Ruri, asked after finishing maintenance on the Mandevs.
She knew…
Everything Yoru was doing was for one ultimate goal!
The Final Island!
“What do you think, Ruri?”
Yoru smirked. “Of course, we’re going to find someone who can help us decipher the Poneglyphs!”
Chapter 472: Heading to the Sabaody Archipelago
He stood up. “Wanna head out to sea together?”
“Let’s go meet that Straw Hat Luffy, who made such a huge name for himself at the Summit War, along with his crew.”
“No thanks, Captain.”
“That guy Burgess wants a Devil Fruit. I’ve gotta go find Doflamingo and buy him an Animal-type Devil Fruit.”
Hearing this, Yoru couldn’t help but shake his head with a wry smile. “Burgess, that guy, still thinks he’s not strong enough?”
“He’s already able to take on a Vice Admiral like Onigumo and even put him on the back foot. And he still thinks he’s not strong enough?”
“Fine, go find him one. Let’s take his strength up another notch.”
Once your strength reaches a certain level, the boost from a Devil Fruit isn’t as significant.
But it still makes a difference.
Naturally, Yoru wouldn’t stop Burgess from getting stronger!
“I bet once he gets it, Burgess is gonna go wild sparring with Luri and Nous again.”
With a sigh, Yoru set off on his journey to the Sabaody Archipelago.
To avoid drawing too much attention, he didn’t take the Mandevs.
Instead, he boarded a smaller, mid-sized ship…
The Mandevs was left for Luri to take to Dressrosa.
Fishman Island
“This guy really did become an Emperor.”
Neptune held Yoru’s bounty poster, his face full of emotion.
It wasn’t surprising that Yoru would become an Emperor.
But the speed at which he rose was staggering.
It caught Neptune off guard!
“When two Emperors clash, there’s bound to be a fight. I just hope it doesn’t affect Fishman Island.”
After Whitebeard’s death…
Fishman Island had been under Big Mom’s protection, but Yoru had bad blood with her.
This left Neptune deeply worried.
…
Just as Yoru arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago, his Den Den Mushi rang.
He docked the ship and answered, “Moshi moshi, this is Yoru. What’s up?”
The Den Den Mushi took on Luri’s appearance. “Captain, I, uh… caught Charlotte Cracker, one of Big Mom’s Three Sweet Commanders. That’s not a problem, right?”
Luri’s voice was cautious, almost nervous.
Yoru: “???”
He froze for a moment before bursting into laughter. “Luri, you’ve really outdone yourself this time!”
“No big deal. If you caught him, you caught him. If Big Mom has an issue, tell her to come to Night Island and talk to me about how to get Cracker back.”
Luri’s strength genuinely surprised him.
Cracker was, after all, one of the world’s top-tier fighters.
And Luri just caught him?
How’s Cracker ever gonna live this down?!
Still on the call, Yoru wandered into an area without noticing the sign that read “Grove 23”!
Grove 23!
A lawless zone filled with all sorts of ruthless, villainous types!
“Good to know. That guy came at me like a maniac, so I had no choice but to go all out and take him down, even if it nearly cost me half my life.”
Hearing Yoru’s casual response, Luri relaxed.
“Get Nous ready. Big Mom’s probably gonna show up at Night Island soon.”
“He can hold her off for a bit. Don’t let that crazy woman wreck the island.”
Luri acknowledged and hung up.
“Talk about a huge surprise…”
Yoru put away the Den Den Mushi, grinning ear to ear.
He’d been itching for some strengthening points.
And now, they were practically walking right up to his door!
What a thrill!
Chapter 473: A Fruitless Search
It was only then…
That he realized he’d wandered into the lawless Grove 23.
“Ugh, this is such a headache.”
Looking at the Grove 23 sign, Yoru scratched his head in frustration. “Forget it, I’ll just head straight to where the Straw Hats are hanging out.”
Yoru had no interest in wasting time brawling with the small-fry pirates around here.
He made a beeline for Grove 13, toward Shakky’s Rip-off Bar.
The Straw Hats were known to gather there, and Nico Robin would likely be among them.
But his bold move spooked some people watching from the shadows.
That speed was unreal!
“Wait, was that guy just…?”
Someone thought Yoru looked familiar, and after a moment, their eyes widened in shock.
But before they could blurt out the answer, their companion clamped a hand over their mouth. “You trying to get us killed? Say his name out loud, and we’ll be targets for everyone else in a heartbeat!”
“That guy’s on a whole other level. His presence alone is enough to set the entire Sabaody Archipelago on fire.”
“You think we can compete with the others?”
“Stay calm. Sell this info quietly to the news agency, and we’ll make some cash that’s all ours.”
The guy nodded, seeing the logic in that.
Meanwhile, at Yoru’s end…
He pushed open the door…
“Well, well, look who it is—a real big shot!”
The moment Shakky saw Yoru, she grinned, but her body tensed instantly.
This was a New World Emperor, a monster among monsters. No amount of caution was too much.
“Looks like my luck’s not great today. They’re not here, huh?”
Yoru sighed, plopping down at the bar counter. “Gimme a Cold Temptation.”
“Looking for Nico Robin?”
Seeing Yoru wasn’t hostile, Shakky relaxed a bit.
She slid a glass of clear, pristine fruit wine toward him.
“Yeah, didn’t expect she wouldn’t be here yet. Ugh, now I’ve gotta go searching. What a pain.”
Yoru downed the fruit wine in one gulp. “You know where she went?”
Shakky propped her chin on her hand, a cigarette dangling between her fingers, and smiled. “Five million Berries for a piece of info. How’s that sound?”
Yoru grinned too, but his smile was unreadable. “You sure about that?”
A chilling aura began to radiate from him.
“Heh, you can always search for her yourself. That’s just how we do business here.”
Shakky laughed again, completely unfazed as she met Yoru’s gaze.
After a long moment…
Yoru shrugged and stood up to leave. “Fine, I’ll look for her myself. If I tore this place apart, that Rayleigh guy would be a real hassle to deal with.”
He hadn’t come here to start trouble today.
So…
There was no need for pointless fights.
“Let’s see… in the original story, where was Nico Robin at in the Sabaody Archipelago?”
“Hmm, I think it was some place where the fake Straw Hats were recruiting.”
“Right, the commercial district.”
“No, wait—compared to running around looking for her, it’d be faster to just head to the Sunny.”
Yoru couldn’t be bothered with the hassle.
He headed straight for the area where the Straw Hats had docked the Thousand Sunny.
Grove 17.
That number was crystal clear in his mind.
As a transmigrator, he might’ve forgotten a lot of the finer details of the One Piece story.
But the Straw Hats’ docking spot? That he remembered vividly.
Because back when he read that part of the story, he was seventeen.
…
“What? One of the Four Emperors, the ‘Lightning Killer,’ landed in the Sabaody Archipelago?”
“You sure?”
Chapter 474: The Navy Shaken
Shabondy Archipelago, Grove 60.
Inside a news agency under Navy jurisdiction, the head of the agency stared at the pirate in front of him, shocked.
“You’re sure? Absolutely certain?”
The pirate nodded confidently. “No doubt about it. I’d recognize that face anywhere.”
The agency head pressed, “Where is he now?”
Pirate A shrugged. “No clue, but I’m sure he’s still on the island. His ship hasn’t left.”
“My buddy’s keeping watch where the Lightning Killer docked. The ship hasn’t moved.”
The agency head raised an eyebrow. “How do you know the ship you’re watching is the Lightning Killer’s?”
Pirate A grinned. “Figuring out which ship belongs to the Lightning Killer? Easy for my buddy.”
“He’s an Animal-type Dog-Dog Fruit user. He can sniff out anything. No mistake.”
Hearing this, the agency head nodded, handing Pirate A a 1-million-Berry reward.
Immediately after, he reported the news to his superiors.
The information shot straight up to Navy Headquarters.
“What? The Lightning Killer’s in the Shabondy Archipelago?”
Sakazuki was floored when he got the report.
“What’s that guy up to?”
“His subordinate, the Dark Queen, just captured one of Big Mom’s Three Sweet Commanders, Cracker. Big Mom’s rushing to Night Island as we speak.”
“And he’s in Shabondy?”
Even Sakazuki couldn’t wrap his head around it.
What was Yoru’s goal?
“For Nico Robin.”
At that moment, Vice Admiral Tsuru, the Navy’s Chief of Staff, walked in.
“He’s already collected all the Poneglyphs and earned his ticket to Laugh Tale.”
“All that’s left is the final step—deciphering the Poneglyphs.”
“And the only person in the world who can do that is Nico Robin, from the Straw Hat crew.”
As expected of Vice Admiral Tsuru—her words cut straight to the truth. Sakazuki’s eyes lit up with understanding.
“If the Lightning Killer’s not at his stronghold, doesn’t that mean we could take the chance to wipe out…”
Sakazuki’s aide started to suggest, but before he could finish, both Tsuru and Sakazuki shut him down.
“Absolutely not.”
Tsuru spoke gravely. “The Lightning Killer can return to Night Island in no time.”
“If we want to take down the Lightning Pirates, we’d need to go all-in. That would leave us vulnerable, giving other forces an opening.”
“If we attack Night Island and the Lightning Killer returns, we’d be dragged into a drawn-out war.”
“If we get stuck there, the other Yonkos won’t sit idly by. That’s bad for the Navy.”
Sakazuki nodded.
“To take that guy down, we need thorough preparation. A spur-of-the-moment raid won’t cut it in our current state.”
Defeating the Beasts Pirates had drained them heavily and required extensive planning.
Taking on the even more dangerous Lightning Pirates without a solid strategy? Impossible.
“But we can spread the word that the Lightning Killer’s in Shabondy,” Tsuru continued. “The New World’s silver-medal contenders won’t stay quiet.”
“With their smarts, they’ll figure out why Yoru’s there in no time.”
“When that happens, they’ll lie in wait. If Yoru slips up on his way to the Final Island, they’ll strike like vipers, ready to take a bite.”
Chapter 475: Please Lend Me a Hand
Sakazuki thought it was a solid plan. After his aide got the go-ahead, he immediately set to work.
Why didn’t the Navy spread the word that Yoru came to the Shabondy Archipelago to find Nico Robin to decipher the Poneglyphs?
Simple—they didn’t want to lose any more face.
Despite their tight security, Yoru had already nabbed the key to unlocking the world’s secrets, and they had no choice but to acknowledge his Yonko status.
They’d already been humiliated enough.
No need to make it worse.
Besides, did they really want to broadcast to the entire world that Yoru had the key to the Final Island?
That’d throw the seas into total chaos in no time.
“What?! The Yonko Lightning Killer showed up in Shabondy?!”
“No way, is that for real?”
“You’re not joking, right? What’s a monster like that doing just popping up here?”
Panic spread among the pirates in the Shabondy Archipelago.
This was a Yonko.
An emperor of the New World.
If they accidentally crossed him, what then?
And worse—
A Yonko’s arrival would surely draw an Admiral!
And an Admiral’s arrival?
That’d be their doom!
“It’s true. That guy’s definitely here.”
At Shakky’s Rip-off Bar…
Shakky gave a firm nod to the man in front of her.
Silver, curly hair, round glasses, a silver beard.
His weathered eyes gleamed with a sharp edge.
His not-so-tall frame seemed to pulse with earth-shattering power.
Pluto Rayleigh.
“What’s his goal? He’s not just here for the scenery, is he?”
Rayleigh plopped down at the bar, chuckling.
“Probably came for Nico Robin. He almost made a move here, but it seems he thought fighting you would be too much hassle, so he backed off.”
Shakky took a drag of her cigarette as she spoke.
“Hahaha, is that so? He sure thinks highly of these old bones!”
Rayleigh burst out laughing. “Looks like we’re in for quite a show soon.”
“Better go check it out, just in case Luffy gets in over his head.”
If Yoru was after Nico Robin, then…
Straw Hat Luffy wouldn’t just sit back and take it.
…
On the Sunny-Go.
“Ugh, I got found out? That’s a headache.”
Yoru had successfully boarded the Sunny-Go, where only Franky, the shipwright, was present.
Facing Yoru, Franky felt like he’d been plunged into icy waters.
He knew exactly who this overlord was.
And just how terrifyingly strong he was.
“But oh well, exposed or not, at least the person I was waiting for is here.”
Yoru glanced ahead…
A woman approached—black hair flowing, sunglasses perched on her head, wearing a cropped blue vest that showed off her midriff and a low-waisted floral skirt.
Graceful and alluring…
Mature and captivating.
The “Devil Child,” Nico Robin.
“Hey, Nico Robin, you’re here.”
Yoru greeted her casually, and she froze, her body tensing.
Her usual calm expression turned deadly serious.
“Heh, no need to be so intense. I’m not here to hurt you guys. I just need a little favor.”
“Remember our run-in two years ago?”
“I told you back then I’d ask for your help when the time was right. Well, that time’s now.”
“Beautiful and mature Ms. Nico Robin, would you mind lending me a hand?”
Yoru asked with surprising politeness.
“Heh, I’m flattered.”
“But I’m afraid I’ll need to wait for Luffy and the others. Even if I agree to help, I’d have to say my goodbyes to them first.”
