Terai couldn’t help but ask, “The First Hokage’s arm is Orochimaru’s work, right? But these Sharingan…”
Danzo Shimura snorted, “I have my own sources. Starting from the Second Hokage’s era, the followers of Setsuna Uchiha’s rebellion… and Kagami Uchiha.”
Terai’s heart skipped a beat. “I remember Setsuna Uchiha’s rebellion was crushed by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, before it even started. They were all locked away in Anbu’s prison. So, Lord Danzo, you’ve been collecting Sharingan since then… As for Kagami Uchiha, he was one of the six comrades—alongside Torifu Akimichi and the four current Konoha leaders—who served as the Second Hokage’s guards.”
Clearly, Danzo had been preparing his Sharingan arsenal for a long time.
“And that’s not all,” Danzo said. “I’ve got a special gift for Yoru Uchiha.”
He clapped his hands sharply.
Smack!
“Summoning Jutsu… Impure World Reincarnation!”
The underground hideout rumbled as coffins burst from the earth, rising with a thunderous roar. Their lids crashed to the ground, revealing the bodies of long-dead shinobi inside.
Every Root ninja stared, jaws dropped, in utter shock. So many!
Danzo’s contemporaries: Kagami Uchiha, Torifu Akimichi.
The legendary White Fang of Konoha, feared even by the Sannin: Sakumo Hatake.
A ninja who mastered the secret Spirit Transformation Technique: Dan Kato.
A master of his clan’s genjutsu: Mayu Yugao.
And, of course, Konoha’s former top shinobi, killed by Yoru Uchiha: Shisui Uchiha.
Plus Setsuna Uchiha, Koma Moku, and other fallen elites.
Each one was a true elite ninja, and Danzo had summoned over a dozen through Impure World Reincarnation.
Yet he still wasn’t satisfied.
“Hmph, it’s still short of my goal,” he muttered. “If only the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, hadn’t used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, he’d be my real trump card. Might Dai, who unleashed the Eight Gates and burned himself out, left no body behind. And then there’s Shinnosuke Sarutobi, Hiyu Sarutobi, Kenpei Aburame—those dead fools. I spared them to give Hiruzen some face, but now I see that was a mistake!”
Terai was stunned. This force could wipe out an entire small nation.
But…
“Lord Danzo, shouldn’t the real trump cards be the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, and the Second, Tobirama Senju? You have Hashirama’s cells and were Tobirama’s student. Getting their DNA shouldn’t be hard.”
Danzo scoffed. “You’re right. I have their DNA and living sacrifices, but I still can’t summon them. The only explanation is that Orochimaru already has.”
Terai’s eyes widened. “You mean Orochimaru summoned their souls first, blocking you from doing it? But why?”
“Obviously, he’s guarding against me,” Danzo growled. “Those two are his true trump cards, his real leverage. He’s not about to hand them over. Our deal is just mutual exploitation, nothing more.”
Terai nodded, gazing at the coffins filled with dead shinobi. “Even so, this power is more than enough. Forget Yoru Uchiha—this could destroy the entire Uchiha clan!”
Danzo sneered. “Of course. But knowing that brat, he won’t risk his clan. He’ll come alone.”
Terai’s face darkened. “Then he’s walking to his grave.”
Danzo continued, “First, I’ll kill Yoru Uchiha, then summon him with Impure World Reincarnation to control him completely. After that… I’ll use this army to take back the Hidden Leaf! Hiruzen, if you won’t let me live in peace, why should I let you?”
Terai and the others felt a chill. With Konoha at war with the Cloud Village, and the Uchiha, Hyuga, and Ino-Shika-Cho clans away, the village was vulnerable. If Danzo killed Yoru and claimed his power, he might actually overrun Konoha. But with Root’s infamous reputation, Danzo could never be Hokage or live in the open again.
This was nothing but mad vengeance.
Danzo stared at his undead army, a fiery glint in his eyes. After a pause, he said coldly, “Send word. Leak our exact location to Yoru Uchiha alone.”
“Yes, Lord Danzo!” Terai replied, and Root’s secret channels sprang into action, passing the intel along.
Danzo glanced at his arm, where Sharingan eyes spun slowly, glowing blood-red. “Yoru Uchiha, killing you won’t quench my rage. I’ll make you my puppet, force you to kill Hiruzen, and wipe out the Uchiha clan. I’ll make you watch as everything you care about… turns to ash!”
At Konoha’s Military Police Force headquarters, a crow landed on the stone steps. A brief message reached Yoru’s hands—a precise address.
He read it, then burned the paper to ash with a flicker of flame.
Without a word, he strode out of the headquarters alone. For safety, he left a shadow clone behind to manage things.
He didn’t tell anyone in the Military Police. Not even Kakashi Hatake.
He was going to face this alone.
No one else needed to know. With his own strength, he’d eradicate Danzo Shimura and Root entirely. It was the best choice—the only choice.
A bigger operation would only spark chaos, and the Uchiha clan couldn’t afford more losses right now.
Yoru slipped out of Konoha unnoticed, heading west.
He knew Danzo had set a trap, but he pressed on without hesitation.
In this village, in this ninja world, some people deserved to die.
Yet they clung to life.
So he would be the one to deliver their death.
Chapter 67: The White Fang of the Leaf! Dan Kato! Danzo’s Impure World Reincarnation Army!
Yoru strode forward alone, his steps bold and unwavering.
Danzo Shimura’s secret base wasn’t far from the Hidden Leaf Village.
With Yoru’s speed, he was closing in within half an hour.
Though he had absolute confidence in himself, he never underestimated Danzo Shimura.
Especially now, when Danzo was surely fully prepared.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have the guts to openly challenge Yoru to a fight.
The question was, just how far had Danzo’s preparations gone?
Danzo wasn’t like Shisui Uchiha.
Someone like Shisui, even if he wanted to kill Yoru, would choose an honorable one-on-one duel to settle things fairly.
But Danzo Shimura? He’d use any dirty trick without hesitation.
Now, as a desperate fugitive, cornered like a rabid dog, he’d stop at nothing, sparing no means to take Yoru down!
With only a few miles left to the agreed location, Yoru suddenly froze.
He sensed something inhuman rapidly approaching.
“That’s…”
“Dan Kato’s Spirit Transformation Technique?”
For anyone else, detecting such a bizarre secret jutsu—or even noticing it—would be impossible.
But…
Not only did Yoru know the secrets of Dan Kato and his Spirit Transformation Technique, he also…
Possessed the Mangekyo Sharingan and unmatched perception unique in the ninja world!
In his eyes, the so-called invisible spirit form was as clear as a physical body!
Whether it was a physical or spiritual entity, anything with chakra couldn’t escape Yoru’s sight.
Even Dan’s Spirit Transformation Technique, which could replenish chakra for others—like when he restored Tsunade’s depleted chakra during the Fourth Great Ninja War—was no exception.
No doubt about it.
This was Danzo Shimura manipulating Dan Kato, revived through Impure World Reincarnation, to launch a sneak attack from a distance!
The Spirit Transformation Technique…
It was indeed a formidable jutsu.
The spirit could leave the body, ignore distance, strike from afar, and be immune to physical attacks!
Moreover, the spirit had its own consciousness, capable of observing, scouting, possessing, disrupting, or even crushing an enemy’s mind in the mental realm!
Unfortunately…
Using the Spirit Transformation Technique against an Uchiha, renowned for their mental prowess?!
Yoru sneered, eyeing the youthful-looking spirit form. Before it could close in, he struck first!
His Mangekyo Sharingan snapped open!
Buzz—
A clear, melodious sound rang out, followed by an overwhelmingly ferocious burst of ocular power!
In Yoru’s Mangekyo Sharingan, the blood-red six-pointed star pattern spun gently…
His left eye’s power…
Kuenbiko!
In an instant…
The blood-red star’s light enveloped the rapidly approaching spirit, fully illuminating it. Within moments, Yoru saw through its weaknesses, flaws, and vulnerabilities!
“That spot is…”
“The kidney?”
Yoru’s mind stirred.
He recalled that when Dan Kato died, his organs were shattered, his kidneys nearly obliterated.
This wasn’t a mere coincidence…
With a cold smirk, a surge of violent Yin chakra erupted through his formidable Mangekyo Sharingan, blasting outward!
Boom!
A silent explosion, like a ripple in space, carried Yoru’s ferocious mental and ocular power, amplified by the Kuenbiko technique, slamming into the spirit’s critical weak point!
At that moment, Dan Kato’s spirit was entirely controlled by talismans.
In other words, it lacked any autonomous fighting will.
Otherwise, it might have had a chance to resist or dodge.
But now…
The entire spirit was instantly obliterated by Yoru’s Kuenbiko ocular power!
It crumbled like dry leaves, reduced to nothing!
Not even a ripple was left behind.
Yoru let out a dismissive sneer.
Even without using his Mangekyo Sharingan’s power, did Danzo really think a mere Dan Kato—revived through Impure World Reincarnation with diminished strength and fully controlled by Danzo—could take him down with the Spirit Transformation Technique?
Even if the jutsu had possessed him, in the mental realm, Dan would only be crushed to death!
But Danzo wasn’t a fool.
He obviously knew how terrifying Yoru was.
So, using Dan Kato’s Spirit Transformation Technique as a sneak attack was likely just a diversion…
Even if it succeeded for a split second before Yoru broke free, it would buy time for the real ambush.
Sure enough…
The next moment—
“Multi-Size Technique! Super Thrust Hand!”
“Leaf Style Swordsmanship! Flash!”
“Phantom Instant Body Technique!”
“Wind Release! Wind Cutting Technique!”
“Lightning Release! Thunder Dragon Bullet!”
A barrage of ferocious attacks came hurtling toward Yoru!
As if materializing out of thin air, they struck from all directions—taijutsu, swordsmanship, ninjutsu, secret techniques… a relentless storm of assaults poured down like a torrential downpour!
In an instant…
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The ground shook, dust and debris flew, and violent explosions turned the earth upside down. The deafening blasts echoed across the wilderness!
Yoru’s figure was instantly swallowed, annihilated, and lost in the blaze of explosions and swirling dust…
At the same time, Danzo’s army of Impure World Reincarnation ninja finally revealed themselves.
Their bodies were caked with dirt and grime, like walking corpses. Though their faces looked lifelike, their expressions were vacant, marked with crack-like scars.
Clearly, Danzo had completely erased their wills, controlling their actions with talismans.
“Did it work?”
From a hidden spot in the distance, Terai, standing beside Danzo, asked nervously.
Danzo’s brow furrowed tightly.
“As expected, it’s not that simple…”
As the explosion’s flames faded and the dust settled, Yoru’s figure stood proudly on the ground, completely unharmed…
Not even a speck of dust on him.
Terai and the other Root members were stunned.
“To come out unscathed from such a massive ambush by so many powerful ninja?!”
“How… how did he do it?!”
Danzo didn’t answer.
From afar, Yoru’s cold gaze locked onto them.
Clearly, he’d already sensed their presence.
“Danzo Shimura, is this your plan to kill me?”
“Pathetic.”
Danzo knew he’d been exposed and no longer hid. He stood, facing Yoru from a distance.
“As expected of Yoru Uchiha.”
“Killing you really isn’t that simple…”
“Even my Impure World Reincarnation army can’t do it.”
Yoru scanned his surroundings. Over a dozen revived ninja surrounded him—Choza Akimichi, Shisui Uchiha, Kagami Uchiha, Setsuna Uchiha, Sakumo Hatake, Mahiru Yugure, Koto Tsume, and, of course, Dan Kato, who had just used the Spirit Transformation Technique.
Though Dan’s spirit had been obliterated by Yoru, leaving him an immobile husk, the sheer number of revived ninja, combined with Danzo himself and his dozen loyal Root followers, was a terrifying force.
At that moment, four Root ninja appeared around Yoru, simultaneously activating a sealing barrier.
“Four Violet Flames Formation!”
Purple chakra surged, linking together to form a massive rectangular barrier, burning with eerie, fearsome purple flames!
The Four Violet Flames Formation trapped Yoru and the entire Impure World Reincarnation army within.
Yoru snorted coldly.
Danzo’s plan was clear: let Yoru fight his revived army, draining his chakra. Even if they couldn’t kill him, Danzo could swoop in afterward, striking when Yoru was weakened!
“Danzo Shimura, these petty tricks won’t kill me.”
“Is that so?”
Danzo sneered. “Do you really think you’re the God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju? Or his equal, Madara Uchiha?!”
“Yoru Uchiha, don’t be too arrogant. These revived ninja may not be at their peak, but they’re far from weak. And you’re facing ten—no, more than that—alone?!”
“Even if they can’t kill you, I have my true trump card ready!”
Danzo caressed his right arm, where Hashirama’s cells pulsed with vibrant life, as if ready to consume him.
And sealed within that arm, several Sharingan eyes glowed with blood-red light!
Chapter 68: Susanoo Kamui! The Power to Crush Everything in Seconds!
Yoru hadn’t responded yet when he suddenly sensed several chakra signatures rapidly approaching.
His heart stirred slightly.
Those figures arrived quickly, and the one leading them was none other than… Kakashi Hatake!
Behind him were his Anbu squad and the Konoha pursuit team, including members of the Ino-Shika-Cho clans!
Kakashi’s eyes fell on his father, resurrected through the Impure World Reincarnation, and he was overcome with rage and sorrow.
“Father…”
But Sakumo Hatake showed no reaction. At this moment, he was nothing more than a puppet, fully controlled by another.
Kakashi roared, “Danzo Shimura, you desecrate the dead and toy with their souls! Your crimes are unforgivable!”
The Ino-Shika-Cho members, seeing Choza Akimichi and others brought back through the Impure World Reincarnation, were also furious. The air crackled with their righteous anger and burning battle spirit!
Danzo’s expression darkened.
He hadn’t expected Uchiha Yoru to bring so many people!
However, this wasn’t Yoru’s plan.
Even he was a bit surprised, his brows furrowing slightly.
“Kakashi, you…”
Then he noticed the ninja hounds trailing behind Kakashi.
“I see. You had these hounds memorize my scent and track me down, didn’t you?”
Despite his anger, Kakashi nodded.
“Lord Yoru, don’t underestimate me. I am, after all, an Anbu squad leader.”
“Tracking down rogue ninja is part of Anbu’s duty.”
“As for the Ino-Shika-Cho clans…”
“They needed to see Danzo Shimura’s filthy crimes with their own eyes!”
Yoru didn’t comment.
His original plan was to take down Danzo and destroy the Root organization single-handedly, but Kakashi’s approach wasn’t a bad one either.
Besides, their reasons were undeniably solid.
Shikaku Nara frowned. “Is that… the Four Violet Flames Formation?”
“That bastard Danzo wants Lord Yoru to fight the Impure World Reincarnation army and let them kill each other so he can reap the rewards. What a despicable coward!”
Kakashi glanced at it too.
“I recall that seal can only be broken from the inside. Lord Yoru, you…”
Yoru said coolly, “Doesn’t matter.”
“Since you’re all determined to get involved, I won’t stop you.”
“Kakashi, I’ll give you a chance to take your revenge personally…”
“But…”
“If you can’t kill Danzo Shimura by the time I’ve dealt with all these reincarnated dead, don’t blame me for stepping in myself.”
Kakashi and Shikaku felt a chill run through them.
“Understood, Lord Yoru.”
“I’ll take down Danzo as fast as I can and then lend you a hand!”
Kakashi took a deep breath and finally lifted the headband covering his left eye, revealing the Sharingan that had made him infamous across the ninja world.
His killing intent surged!
“Danzo Shimura, your time is up.”
Danzo sneered, “Kakashi Hatake, you think you and this ragtag bunch can kill me?!”
“You’re as naive and foolish as your father, the White Fang!”
Kakashi’s voice was low. “You have no right to insult my father.”
Danzo let out a sinister laugh.
“The White Fang of Konoha? You see him as a hero, but to me, he was just a good dog that could bite!”
“When the village needed him, we let him loose to attack. But when his fame grew too great, when his achievements overshadowed the village’s leadership, he brought his own destruction!”
“Do you really think…”
“That Sakumo Hatake took his own life because he abandoned a mission, faced controversy, and was shunned by everyone?”
Kakashi’s face changed dramatically.
“What are you saying?!”
Danzo smirked coldly. “You and your father, both hailed as genius ninja, but you’re both too stubborn to understand power struggles or political interests…”
“In my eyes, and in Hiruzen’s, Sakumo Hatake was no different from Hiashi Hyuga—just a tool to be sacrificed when needed…”
Kakashi’s heart shook.
Only now did he realize his father’s death wasn’t as simple as it seemed!
It wasn’t just Danzo Shimura. The true mastermind behind it all was likely none other than the current Third Hokage…
Hiruzen Sarutobi!
“Danzo Shimura, tell me the truth!”
Kakashi’s rage was unlike anything he’d ever felt.
But Danzo was only trying to provoke him.
Yoru let out a mocking chuckle.
“Danzo, and what are you in Hiruzen Sarutobi’s eyes?”
“Just another old dog to be cast out whenever it suits him.”
Danzo’s body trembled, his fists clenching tightly.
Lies don’t hurt.
The truth is the sharpest weapon.
Danzo’s mockery of Sakumo Hatake, the White Fang, was thrown back at him by Yoru, like the sharpest boomerang, completely breaking his composure!
His face twisted with rage as he snarled, “Uchiha Yoru, I’ll make you wish you were never born!”
Kakashi, reminded by Yoru’s words, snapped out of his anger. Though he still burned with hatred for Danzo, he quickly regained his composure.
“Thank you, Lord Yoru…”
“Shikaku, it’s time.”
Shikaku nodded.
Danzo let out a cold snort, and the remaining Root members immediately formed a defensive line around him, facing off against Kakashi and the others.
“Kill!”
With a furious shout, the battle erupted!
Though Kakashi’s side had numbers, he could only directly command his Anbu squad of seven or eight members.
As for the Ino-Shika-Cho group, their elite ninja were off fighting the Cloud Village alongside their clan leaders, so their remaining forces were limited.
Of course, Danzo’s Root was also down to less than thirty or forty percent of its strength.
Both sides knew this was a fight to the death.
There was no retreat.
Kakashi activated his Sharingan and unleashed his trump card.
“Chidori!”
In an instant, lightning crackled wildly. His arm became the sharpest, most blazing blade in the world, piercing straight through the heart of a Root ninja!
Danzo’s brow furrowed.
But then he smirked.
He was absolutely confident.
Even if it meant sacrificing all his subordinates, as long as he survived, that was victory…
That was his way.
And…
The reincarnated ninja, their wills erased by Danzo’s sealing tags, would never disobey him. The downside, though, was…
Unless he directly controlled them, they could only act on instinct, lacking flexibility and adaptability.
“I’ll just use these puppets to kill you first…”
“Uchiha Yoru!”
In an instant, Sakumo Hatake, Shisui Uchiha, Kagami Uchiha, Choza Akimichi, and the rest of the Impure World Reincarnation army, under Danzo’s control, launched a ferocious assault on Yoru within the confined space of the Four Violet Flames Formation!
The onslaught was ten times more terrifying than before!
In moments, the area within the Four Violet Flames Formation became a wasteland—earth shattered, skies darkened, and light vanished!
But then…
“Huh?!”
“What… what is that?!”
Danzo suddenly froze, realizing all their attacks were meaningless. Uchiha Yoru stood tall, unshaken, and around him surged an unprecedentedly powerful chakra, forming a towering, majestic, and divine warrior giant!
It was…
Susanoo!
“Susanoo?!”
Danzo, Kakashi, and the others were stunned, their faces pale with shock!
Yoru commanded the Susanoo, black as ink and red as blood. The chakra spread rapidly, forming a skeletal frame, then flesh, skin, clothing, and armor!
And even…
The exclusive chakra weapons of his Susanoo!
The Ten-Bundle Sin-Destroying Sword!
The Thousand-Lead Sin-Binding Chains!
Without hesitation, the raging chakra warrior giant, Susanoo, swung its arms. The Thousand-Lead Sin-Binding Chains in its left hand lashed out, tightly binding the reincarnated Dan Kato, sealing his soul!
Meanwhile, the Ten-Bundle Sin-Destroying Sword in its right hand pierced straight into the body of Koma Moku. In an instant, the blade stabbed through, like hellish thorns delivering cruel torture, igniting crimson lotus flames and crackling with lightning, reducing the body to ash and dust in a single explosive moment!
Yoru’s Susanoo descended, its divine might overwhelming, instantly annihilating two powerful reincarnated ninja. The entire battlefield was stunned, and Danzo’s eyes widened as cold sweat poured down his face!
Chapter 69: Cutting Through Like Butter! The Impure World Reincarnation Army Falls!
“What… what kind of power is that?!”
Shimura Danzo’s jaw dropped, his body trembling with dread!
Even if Uchiha Yoru had awakened the power of Susanoo, those two unique spiritual weapons… they were just too terrifying!
“That chain… can it really seal and bind souls directly?”
“And that black blood sword, infused with the power of hellfire and lightning?!”
“How… how is this possible…?”
Danzo was drenched in sweat, his once-confident demeanor crumbling as fear shook his resolve!
Meanwhile, Kakashi Hatake and the others watched in awe, their faces a mix of shock and admiration.
“That’s… that’s Lord Yoru’s…”
“Susanoo?!”
“It’s so powerful it can even dominate the dead brought back by Impure World Reincarnation?!”
“No wonder… he’s Uchiha Yoru!”
Yoru, wielding Susanoo for the first time, was thrilled with its power.
His two unique spiritual weapons…
The Thousand Binding Sin Chains naturally possessed sealing power, capable of trapping the souls of those it bound in a realm called the “Sin Domain.” It was the perfect tool for dealing with the reanimated dead of Impure World Reincarnation.
The Tenfold Sin-Slaying Sword didn’t have sealing abilities, but it was infused with Yoru’s unique “hellfire,” capable of judging and burning away an enemy’s sins, incinerating both their body and soul!
Even the undead of Impure World Reincarnation, with their immortal bodies, were still driven by the souls of the dead—and those souls could be burned by his hellfire!
In other words…
The so-called invincible and terrifying Impure World Reincarnation was utterly meaningless against Yoru’s Susanoo—completely powerless!
Ding!
[You’ve successfully sealed Kato Dan’s soul, freeing him from his suffering. Good deed! +300 Merit Points!]
[You’ve successfully judged and burned Mokume Kouto’s soul, granting him liberation. Good deed! +200 Merit Points!]
Yoru’s heart stirred. As expected, sealing or defeating the reanimated dead also earned him Merit Points.
In that case…
Kill!
Yoru pushed Susanoo’s power to its absolute limit. The towering chakra giant, a fusion of a war god and a demon, radiated a mix of divine and terrifying energy!
The Tenfold Sin-Slaying Sword and Thousand Binding Sin Chains in its hands unleashed overwhelming, unstoppable force!
Danzo was both shocked and enraged.
With a low growl, he manipulated Uchiha Kagami and Uchiha Shisui, sending them to attack Yoru from both sides!
These two were absolute powerhouses of the Uchiha clan!
Even though they couldn’t unleash their full strength from life, their presence was still intimidating. Shisui’s Phantom Body Flicker Technique and Kagami’s rare Water Release ninjutsu—uncommon among the Uchiha—surged toward Yoru in a fierce pincer attack!
But against Susanoo, attacks of this level were meaningless.
Yoru didn’t even bother dodging.
Shisui’s dozen or so phantom clones unleashed the Uchiha Style: Sword Blaze Leap, striking Susanoo with full force, but they didn’t leave a single scratch!
As for Kagami’s Water Release? It barely made a ripple!
“Damn it!”
“That bastard!”
“How is that man’s Susanoo this strong?!”
“When he killed Shisui, he hadn’t even awakened this power yet! It’s only been a short time—how could he…?!”
Danzo was seething with rage and disbelief.
But then he saw Yoru’s Susanoo swing the Tenfold Sin-Slaying Sword, piercing through seven or eight of Shisui’s phantom clones in one strike!
Even though the clones were near-physical, they shattered into dust under Yoru’s single blow!
Realizing the danger, Danzo hurriedly commanded Akimichi Torifu to use the Expansion Jutsu. Torifu’s arm swelled massively, like the trunk of an ancient tree, crashing down toward Yoru!
“Super Push Hand!”
Yoru sneered, not even turning his head. He swung the Tenfold Sin-Slaying Sword upward in a single, fierce slash!
Boom!
With a deafening crash, the giant arm from the Expansion Jutsu was sliced clean in half, both pieces slamming into the ground with thunderous force!
Then, the Thousand Binding Sin Chains whipped out like a lash, snapping around Torifu’s reanimated body. With a sharp tug, his body shattered completely, and his soul was sealed into the “Sin Domain.”
The broken body didn’t regenerate.
Instead, it crumbled into dust and debris, revealing the corpse of a child who had been used as a living sacrifice…
Seeing this, Yoru’s anger surged.
Controlling Susanoo, he unleashed the full power of the Tenfold Sin-Slaying Sword and Thousand Binding Sin Chains, sealing or burning the souls of one reanimated puppet after another!
Danzo watched as his so-called Impure World Reincarnation army fell apart, utterly powerless. Panic and fury consumed him.
Why… why did that guy have such terrifying power?!
How could his trump card be crushed so easily?!
What had Orochimaru been hiding?!
In truth, Danzo’s Impure World Reincarnation was so fragile not just because Yoru’s Susanoo and its two spiritual weapons perfectly countered it…
The technique itself was deeply flawed.
Even Orochimaru’s version of Impure World Reincarnation wasn’t highly precise at this stage. The reanimated dead could barely muster a fraction of their living strength.
In the Konoha Crush arc, the reanimated Hashirama and Tobirama Senju’s power was likely less than one percent of their true capabilities!
Danzo knew this, but he never imagined they’d be this weak against Yoru!
At this rate…
“No, it can’t be!”
“Susanoo consumes an insane amount of Mangekyo Sharingan chakra. Even Shisui wouldn’t dare use it lightly. The longer it’s active, the harder it is to maintain, and it rapidly drains chakra and vision, potentially leading to blindness!”
“Uchiha Yoru, how long can you keep this up?!”
“All I need to do is wear down your chakra with my Impure World Reincarnation army. It won’t take long before you can’t sustain Susanoo, and then… hmph!”
Danzo wasn’t wrong.
Yoru’s chakra was indeed draining rapidly, and his vision was deteriorating as he maintained Susanoo.
But…
He wasn’t an ordinary Uchiha.
His lost chakra and fading vision? As he defeated the reanimated army and earned Merit Points, he reinvested them into his chakra, restoring it almost instantly!
In other words…
This was a perpetual killing machine!
Danzo’s plan to outlast him was completely meaningless!
Whoosh!
Yoru’s Tenfold Sin-Slaying Sword pierced through Uchiha Kagami’s body. Lightning shattered the shell, and hellfire burned his soul to ashes!
Ding!
[You’ve successfully judged and burned Uchiha Kagami’s soul, granting him liberation. Good deed! +300 Merit Points!]
Three hundred Merit Points secured!
Yoru casually allocated them to his chakra, and instantly, his Mangekyo Sharingan blazed with even brighter crimson light!
Susanoo’s power surged, growing even more ferocious and terrifying than before!
Danzo stood frozen, his face pale with terror.
“How… how is this possible?!”
Chapter 70: Total Annihilation! Danzo Shimura Cornered!
Yoru wielded his Susanoo, brandishing its two exclusive chakra weapons, cutting down the Impure World Reincarnation shinobi as effortlessly as mowing grass!
The scene left Danzo Shimura horrified and Kakashi Hatake and the others utterly stunned!
Shikaku Nara’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Those reincarnated shinobi may not be at their peak strength from when they were alive, but they’re still absolute elites!”
“How can they be so powerless against Uchiha Yoru?!”
“Even Senior Choza’s strength, though not fully unleashed, is still far beyond mine. Yet Yoru sliced off his arms with one swing and sealed his soul with a single chain?!”
Kakashi was equally overwhelmed with shock.
He had witnessed Yoru’s strength before.
But compared to now, it was like night and day!
In such a short time, Yoru’s power had grown beyond imagination!
If it were the current Yoru facing Shisui Uchiha, he’d probably end the fight in just a few moves!
Speaking of Shisui Uchiha…
In his shock and fury, Danzo tried to manipulate Shisui to activate his own Susanoo.
But…
It wouldn’t activate.
At this point, Danzo’s Impure World Reincarnation technique was too crude.
Shisui’s strength was barely a fraction of what it could be.
Of course, even if he could activate Susanoo, it wouldn’t matter.
Yoru could defeat him without Susanoo—let alone now!
Enraged and humiliated, Danzo could only push Shisui to his limits, unleashing his signature Fire Release technique…
“Fire Release: Dragon Flame Jutsu!”
A blazing fire dragon roared forth, claws bared, its searing heat crashing against Yoru’s Susanoo.
It had no effect whatsoever.
On the other side, Konoha’s White Fang, Sakumo Hatake, swung his chakra-infused saber, coated with Lightning Release, striking Yoru’s Susanoo with incredible speed.
Still, it was useless.
“Damn it!”
Danzo was livid. His Impure World Reincarnation army was being slaughtered by Yoru, and now they couldn’t even breach the defense of a single Susanoo!
Meanwhile, the Root ninjas were gradually losing ground under the combined assault of Kakashi and the Ino-Shika-Cho clans…
If this continued…
Danzo clenched his fists, realizing that brute force couldn’t break Yoru’s Susanoo, and his plan to exhaust Yoru’s ocular power had already failed. For a moment, he was at a loss.
Suddenly…
“If taijutsu and ninjutsu won’t work…”
Danzo sneered, manipulating Shisui Uchiha and Mahiru Yūhi to launch genjutsu attacks on Yoru!
“Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique!”
“Illusion: Tree Binding Death!”
The Uchiha clan’s Sharingan genjutsu, combined with Mahiru’s equally potent genjutsu, sent ripples of chakra through the air, enveloping Yoru!
Yoru let out a cold laugh.
“Using genjutsu against someone with the Mangekyō Sharingan?”
“Danzo Shimura, you’re even dumber than I thought…”
Yoru wasn’t exactly “skilled” in genjutsu.
But that was only relative to the other aspects of his ocular powers.
However…
A Sharingan is still a Sharingan—it could cast and break genjutsu.
And his was the supreme Mangekyō Sharingan!
In an instant…
Buzz—
A sharp, piercing sound cut through the air as Yoru’s Mangekyō Sharingan unleashed a surge of ocular power, shattering Shisui and Mahiru’s genjutsu with ease. And then…
It struck back!
In a flash, Shisui Uchiha and Mahiru Yūhi were caught under the control of Yoru’s Mangekyō Sharingan!
“What?!”
Danzo was stunned.
Without hesitation, Yoru’s Susanoo whipped out its Thousand-Lead Sin-Binding Chains, a black-and-red lash burning with hellish flames, binding the two immobilized shinobi and suppressing their souls with its sealing power!
As their souls were sealed into the mental space known as the “Sin Realm,” Shisui Uchiha briefly regained his clarity and reason.
His soul turned to Danzo, then to Yoru, letting out a long sigh.
“Yoru, everything you predicted was right…”
“I never imagined that even in death, I’d be manipulated and used by them…”
“But ending up like this… it’s my own fault. I can’t blame anyone else…”
“I was too naive, too foolish…”
Yoru had no time for sentimental chats or deep reflections.
He said coldly, “They’ll be dead soon enough.”
Shisui gave a faint smile.
“Thank you.”
With that, his soul was fully sealed once more.
Ding!
[You have successfully sealed Mahiru Yūhi’s soul, freeing him from his suffering. Good deed, +200 merit points!]
[You have successfully sealed Shisui Uchiha’s soul, freeing him from his suffering. Good deed, +500 merit points!]
Yoru remained silent.
Only 500 points?
As expected, sealing the souls of the dead didn’t yield nearly as much merit as killing Shisui Uchiha outright would have.
And it probably wouldn’t be possible to keep using Impure World Reincarnation to farm merit points.
As Shisui, Mahiru, and others were sealed one by one, Danzo’s so-called Impure World Reincarnation army was reduced to just Sakumo Hatake, Setsuna Uchiha, and a handful of others—a complete rout!
Total annihilation was imminent!
Danzo was furious, realizing that relying solely on the reincarnated shinobi wouldn’t stop Yoru.
If Yoru sealed all the dead, leaving Danzo to fight alone, his chances of winning would be even slimmer!
In that case…
Better to join forces with the remaining reincarnated shinobi now!
With that thought, Danzo gave the order. The Root ninjas maintaining the Four Violet Flames Formation opened a gap, letting him rush inside before sealing it shut again.
Outside the barrier, everyone paused their fighting, turning their attention to the scene within.
Danzo Shimura…
Couldn’t hold back any longer and was finally taking action himself!
“Uchiha Yoru, do you really think Susanoo is invincible?!”
As Danzo charged in, he bit his finger, formed hand signs, and slammed his hands to the ground.
“Summoning Jutsu!”
With a loud bang and a cloud of white smoke, a massive beast appeared on the battlefield!
“What… what is that?!”
Kakashi and the others were shocked.
The beast was enormous, with a hulking body and long trunk like a mammoth, yet its four claws were sharp like a lion’s or tiger’s, and its mouth was filled with razor-sharp fangs!
It let out a roar, spraying a massive cloud of white mist from its trunk that echoed across the battlefield!
It was Danzo Shimura’s unique summoning beast…
The Baku!
As soon as the peculiar summoned beast appeared, it roared, unleashing its power. Opening its gaping maw behind Yoru, it sucked with tremendous force!
Instantly, a ferocious Wind Release power formed a black hole, frantically devouring the air and everything in front of it!
Even the chakra armor of Yoru’s Susanoo began to peel away under the force!
Seizing the moment, Danzo unleashed his own powerful Wind Release technique.
“Wind Release: Vacuum Wave Barrage!”
In an instant, blades of wind, sharp as weasels, fused together and slammed into Yoru’s Susanoo!
Combined with the Baku’s devouring power, the Wind Release’s strength was amplified exponentially!
Danzo even commanded Sakumo Hatake, Setsuna Uchiha, and the remaining reincarnated shinobi to unleash their own ninjutsu!
For a moment, raging hurricanes swept the battlefield, wind blades slashing wildly, peeling away, shattering, and dismantling the chakra armor of Yoru’s Susanoo layer by layer!
