🕑 Added 2025-06-30 16:17:09 +0000 UTCChapter 167: Me Fighting Mammon? Seriously?
Roy, wearing a ghost mask, suddenly appeared behind Mammon and plunged the cursed double daggers into the back of his heart.
Even though the current Mammon wasn't in his complete form, his defense was still incredibly strong. Roy totally had to use brute force to stab him.
The power of the curse started to kick in, but it barely had any effect on Mammon, almost negligible really.
But Roy wasn't actually planning on taking down Mammon with just the cursed double daggers. A Lord of Hell wouldn't be that weak, getting killed by some measly weapons housing evil spirits.
What Roy really wanted to do was rescue Uriel!
While Mammon was trying to force the cursed double daggers out, Roy suddenly whipped out the cursed hair and wrapped it around Iris.
High-voltage electricity surged through Roy, but he just toughed it out with his constitution of 52 and pulled Iris free.
At that moment, Iris's body was covered in serious burn marks. She was practically charred.
"Ms. Iris, do you have any way to deal with Mammon?"
Iris weakly answered Roy, "Sorry, in my current condition, I can't take on Mammon using normal methods. All we can do is try a banishment ritual!"
Roy definitely knew about banishment rituals. It's even written about in the Key of Solomon. But he rushed over here and didn't have any of the necessary stuff on him.
[Just a quick note for readers: our website is 101kan.com]
A proper banishment ritual needs holy water, holy oil, a cross, and a Bible. Roy didn't have any of that. So, how was he supposed to banish him?
Mammon had already forced the cursed double daggers out of his body. The two daggers looked totally burnt, like they'd been dipped in strong acid. The spirits inside, Sadako and Kayako, were also seriously hurt. Roy quickly grabbed the cursed double daggers and put them back in his inventory.
"Damn human, how dare you sneak attack me!"
Mammon was beyond furious. He felt like a regular person getting bit by an ant.
It was a huge humiliation, and only blood could wash it away.
"You go block Mammon for a sec, I'll handle the ritual!"
Me fight Mammon? Seriously?
Roy was completely unsure of himself. After all, his opponent was the King of Greed, one of the Seven Deadly Sins!
Just the name itself carried some serious weight.
At that moment, the enraged Mammon charged straight at Roy. After all, his opponent was just a human. There was no need to use the golden dice; he could just grab him, crush him, and then slowly torture his soul.
Iris was injured behind him, so Roy had nowhere to run. He had no choice but to fight!
He pulled the chainsaw sword out of his inventory and flipped the switch. The built-in motor roared to life, and the toothed chain spun like crazy at hundreds of revolutions per second. The teeth scraped against the air, throwing off blue-white sparks. The sound was like a wild animal's growl.
Bang!
Roy actually managed to block Mammon's attack with the chainsaw sword! This surprised not only Roy himself but also Iris and Mammon.
You could see that the stat increases from opening all those treasure chests had finally reached a tipping point.
Roy was now strong enough to withstand Mammon's power with his physical stats, but that was also because Mammon hadn't fully descended.
"Human, kneel before me!"
Mammon got even angrier. Golden light blazed from his palms as he forcefully pressed down on the chainsaw sword, putting serious pressure on Roy.
The pressure suddenly spiked. Roy gritted his teeth, but he still couldn't hold back Mammon's immense strength, and his body kept sinking.
Even the chainsaw sword was affected by the golden light and started to slow down.
Almost there, just a little more!
Roy felt like he was just a hair's breadth away from being able to beat Mammon.
So, gritting his teeth and stomping his foot, Roy went straight into his demon form.
"Get the hell outta here!"
His size and stats instantly got a huge boost. The temporary increase of 20 points was immediately noticeable, and Roy successfully pushed Mammon back.
Mammon and Iris's eyes practically popped out of their heads in shock.
"You're a demon too?!"
"You are also a demon?!"
A Lord of Hell and an Archangel actually said the same thing at the exact same time.
Then Iris went silent. She finally understood Michael's secret because the person who had changed her was a demon, something absolutely forbidden in Heaven.
But Iris could also tell that Roy was a righteous demon, which was probably even rarer than a pure succubus.
Mammon sniffed the air around Roy, and his expression changed dramatically.
"Damn it! You're one of Belial's lackeys!"
Roy didn't want to waste any more time talking to Mammon. He pressed the switch on the chainsaw sword again, and hellfire started burning fiercely before he charged at Mammon.
"Enough talk! Just die already!"
Mammon instantly created a golden shield to block Roy's attack, but gold wasn't tough enough. It might be okay against energy attacks, but against a physical attack...
In the roaring sound of the hellfire chainsaw sword, the golden shield was sliced in two in the blink of an eye.
But Mammon managed to get a breather. He suddenly clapped his hands together, and the scattered gold dust around him started to swirl and surround Roy.
Did he realize he couldn't win with strength and was trying to use a softer approach?
Mammon's plan was pretty good – trap Roy's body in the gold dust and suffocate him. But Mammon forgot that times have changed.
Without hesitation, Roy pulled a Remington M870 out of his inventory. Under the influence of hellish power, the gun instantly got a hellish makeover.
With the dark barrel of the gun pointed at him, Mammon instantly felt a bad vibe and quickly used the gold dust to protect himself.
But Roy was faster!
Fear Domain, activate!
Mammon's heart skipped a beat, and he saw a brief hallucination.
If you were to ask what the King of Greed feared most, it would definitely be losing all his precious belongings.
His four red eyes suddenly went wide, and Mammon let out a bloodcurdling scream.
"No, give me back my money!"
The scream was so awful that even Roy jumped when he pulled the trigger.
A Lord of Hell is still a Lord of Hell. Even though he wasn't at full power, Mammon quickly broke free from the Fear Domain and snapped back to reality.
But at that moment, the flaming skull from the hell shotgun was already right in front of him.
Boom!
A huge explosion!
After completing the Ritual of the Rebel Pact, Roy's demon transformation got a boost, and it looked like the weapon enhancements that came with it got stronger too.
Plus, Roy gained a new demon ability: Soul Absorption Hand!
Roy raised his arm, and the five-meter-tall Mammon was uncontrollably sucked towards him. For a moment, he was dizzy from getting blasted in the face and didn't even try to resist.
By the time Mammon realized something was wrong, Roy had already pulled him right up close.
"You bastard—"
Roy was ruthless and didn't waste words. He didn't give Mammon a chance to speak, attacking with both hands, hacking with the hellfire chainsaw greatsword and blasting with the hell shotgun.
But then, Mammon cast another spell that made his skin glow with a metallic sheen, like he'd instantly turned into solid metal.
This made the hellfire chainsaw greatsword and the hell shotgun completely ineffective.
Man, what strong physical defense!
Roy frowned, then he quickly remembered he had another ability that could ignore physical defense.
Dark Touch, activate!
A cloud of darkness suddenly appeared behind Roy, and four black tentacles quickly sprouted from it. He got one tentacle for every 10 points of his Spirit stat.
Mammon's thousands of years of combat experience told him that the black tentacles in front of him were trouble. He tried to use magic to counter them.
But Roy didn't want to drag things out. The longer it went on, the worse it would be for him because he was running out of tricks.
So, Lust Domain, activate!
The Lust Domain wasn't just about creating lustful illusions, but for most people, food and sex are the most basic desires.
But Mammon was different. He had zero interest in sex; he only cared about money.
So, the illusion Mammon saw was himself swimming in a sea of countless precious treasures. This illusion successfully hard-locked him for a full second.
By the time the guy snapped out of it, four dark tentacles had already pierced his body.
"No—my body!"
The dark tentacles actually had the effect of draining life energy, directly causing Mammon's body to shrink a bit.
"Go back to hell, Mammon!"
At this point, Iris, who had been recovering for a bit, also joined the fight. She didn't use that power of spoken words again. Instead, she cut her arm and sprayed her blood on Mammon.
As the human form of an angel, Iris's blood was a higher level than holy water, holy oil, and holy chrism, possessing extremely powerful exorcising abilities.
Under the double whammy, Mammon finally realized his plan had failed. He looked at Roy with resentment.
"I curse you, Belial's lackey!"
Then, Mammon just exploded into golden sand, sending Roy and Iris flying.
"Did Mammon run away?"
Roy was still a bit unsure and didn't change back to his human form. Demons are really sneaky, and he might just pull a fast one and come back for a surprise attack.
Iris struggled to get up and then looked at Roy with a complicated expression.
"He has indeed returned to Hell. If he had died in the human world, the loss for him would have been even greater."
Hearing that, Roy understood.
Some high-ranking demons don't actually die when they're killed in the human world; their power just takes a huge hit.
And once Mammon realized he was no match for Roy and Iris, he cut his losses and ran back to Hell.
This was also because Mammon prefers to play it safe. If it had been the King of Wrath, Samael, here, it would have been different. He would have fought to the death, even if it meant his own demise.
Hearing this, Roy finally breathed a sigh of relief and turned back into his human form.
Right after that, Roy noticed there was still someone alive in the studio – the very person who had caused all of this, Jack Dell.
The guy was pretty lucky. He'd been hiding in a corner, just observing from the sidelines, and somehow managed to survive.
"You're still not dead!"
Roy walked over to Jack and kicked him over.
"Help! I'm innocent! I was just tricked by the King of Greed!"
"Get up and look me in the eyes!"
Roy immediately activated his Eye of Judgment. He could clearly see the red glow on Jack, and his sin was extraordinary.
It was likely that some of the sin generated by Mammon killing everyone in the building had jumped over to Jack.
"I declare you guilty!"
Pushing Jack to the ground, Roy pulled out his ivory-handled Smith & Wesson M629 revolver, ready to execute him.
Jack knelt on the ground, still trying to explain.
"No! I just wanted to be famous, to become a star! What's so wrong with that? Isn't that what they all do in Hollywood and on Wall Street?!"
"That's no excuse for causing so many deaths! You crossed the line!"
Roy cocked the hammer of the revolver, the barrel pointed at Jack's head.
"Spare me, please spare me! I even sacrificed my wife to get where I am today..."
Roy didn't listen to Jack's explanation and just pulled the trigger.
Bang!
One shot to the head!
[Ding! Obtained Jack Dell's Fate Treasure Chest! Open it?]
A huge amount of Justice Points was absorbed into his body.
Turning around, Roy saw Iris staring blankly.
"Uh, Ms. Iris, should I take you to the hospital?"
Iris shook her head and closed her eyes.
"My injuries aren't serious. Just take me away from here."
It seemed that Iris wasn't disgusted by Roy's demon form.
But judging by the fact that Iris let Elrasha go, she wasn't the type to be completely rigid.
Come to think of it, how could an angel of wisdom be so narrow-minded?
Roy supported Iris as they walked out of the TV station building. The outside was already surrounded by FEAR.
"Mr. Black, what's the situation?"
Gerald nervously glanced at Roy and then looked surprised when he saw Iris, who was covered in burns.
"It's been handled, Mr. Olin. But everyone inside the TV station building is dead."
Gerald felt a wave of dizziness. This was at least hundreds of lives lost. Adding the people killed by Elrasha in the afternoon, the death toll in Los Angeles today might break a thousand.
In modern society, a thousand deaths at once is a major incident in any civilized country.
Gerald felt like his job was on the line.
"How could this happen?"
Because watching the live broadcast was risky, Gerald didn't know exactly what had happened inside the TV station.
"That guy Jack Dell summoned the King of Greed."
This short sentence made Gerald so angry he was fuming.
"Is that guy crazy? Where is he now?"
"I already took care of him."
"He got off easy!"
Looking at Gerald's expression, it seemed like he wanted to bring Jack back to life just to kill him again out of spite.
Then, Gerald finally started asking about Iris's identity. After all, everyone in the entire building was dead, and only Roy and Iris had come out alive.
"Mr. Black, who is this person with you?"
Roy looked at Iris, wanting to see how she would react.
Iris nodded slightly at Roy, seemingly agreeing for him to reveal her identity.
"Her name is Iris. She's the human form of the Archangel Uriel. We were able to take down the King of Greed this time entirely thanks to Ms. Iris."
Roy didn't take any credit for himself but instead gave it all to Iris.
After all, as a human, Roy's fighting power was too strong, which could cause problems for his future normal life.
Look at Batman; the government never worries about him because he's just a regular guy.
But Superman, this god among men, the whole world is wary of him, afraid he might suddenly turn bad one day.
Iris seemed to see through Roy's intentions, so she didn't object.
Gerald stared at Iris with his mouth wide open. He suddenly realized how he could save his job.
Chapter 168: Penta Kill The next day, none of the American media mentioned what happened in Los Angeles yesterday. Apparently, the authorities had made some calls.
However, an incident with a thousand deaths isn't something you can just sweep under the rug. After all, those thousand people represented a thousand families, plus their parents, relatives, and friends.
If you count it like that, the number of people affected runs into the tens of thousands.
Luckily for them, the American government is known for its thick skin, so they're just going to drag their feet on this.
They'll just wait until the public gets tired of waiting, and then the issue will naturally resolve itself.
The 9/11 attacks, Hurricane Milton, the Los Angeles fires... haven't they all been handled this way?
But none of this has anything to do with Roy. He still has to continue playing in the Santa Monica Cup knockout rounds and prepare for Heather's birthday party.
Gerald, on the other hand, managed to squeak by in the end, successfully holding onto his job.
He really has Elise to thank for that.
After the Devil Late-Night Show incident, Elise deeply felt the massive changes in human society. A lot of things can't be solved by one person alone.
The mind of a Wisdom Angel is nothing if not flexible. She decided to cooperate with the FEA to a certain extent.
And Gerald successfully clung to Elise's coattails and kept his position. But according to Saltana, the FEA headquarters sent down a new Deputy Director named Paxton Feltai, who might still not fully trust Gerald.
Or maybe Bartholomew from Amacham Technology pulled some strings, wanting to get revenge on Gerald.
After all, Gerald locked that woman up for a whole week, which was undoubtedly a huge humiliation for Bartholomew.
Nevertheless, Los Santos eventually returned to its usual calm.
Beelzebub's cult was almost entirely eradicated by Elise. Mammon was jointly banished back to hell by Roy and Elise. And Asmodeus's daughter, Elrêsa, now only says "aba aba."
On a side note, Elrêsa only has two ways of eating. One is to suck men dry like before.
But Roy can't exactly provide her with fresh men every day.
This behavior once led the other women to believe that Roy had finally become a pervert.
Roy: What do you mean "finally"?
Fortunately, after Roy explained and everyone met Elrêsa, they understood his actions.
Well, only Elrêsa didn't quite understand. She preferred fresh ones; secondhand ones just didn't make her happy.
It was the dark web that really got unlucky.
Iliana was transferred to deal with Beelzebub's cult, but Elise wiped them out. The FBI from Texas couldn't just come all this way and do nothing, right?
So, Iliana took her frustrations out on the dark web, really letting off some steam from her time in Austin.
The dark web in Los Angeles might have bribed the local FBI, but they were completely helpless against Iliana and could only silently swallow their bitter pill.
Time quickly moved to March 21st. This day was the final of the Santa Monica Cup and also Heather's birthday.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finals of the Santa Monica Cup Heavyweight Amateur Boxing Tournament! Time really flies, doesn't it? It feels like the Santa Monica Cup just started, and now we're already at the finals! In less than twenty days, the Santa Monica Cup has attracted nearly ten thousand spectators..."
Today's match successfully landed a live broadcast deal with a television station that covers the entire state of California, so the commentators had a bit more to say.
Of course, this TV station definitely wasn't KABC-TV. That station went bankrupt due to their outstanding employee, Jack Dell, being forced to work overtime and causing a major accident. They're currently undergoing restructuring.
"Mr. Black, the school board has reviewed your performance in the matches and unanimously agreed to offer you admission to UCLA without requiring an entrance exam."
Alan Berg announced the good news to Roy in the locker room, but he noticed that Roy didn't seem particularly happy.
"Mr. Black, aren't you happy about this?"
Roy rolled his eyes. After everything that had happened in Los Angeles, the news of being admitted to UCLA without an exam wasn't exactly cause for celebration.
"Yeah, USC contacted me yesterday and offered even better terms. I'm currently considering whether or not to go to UCLA."
This was true. Although Roy had consecutively taught two USC students a lesson, in the world of sports, as long as you can win, nothing else really matters.
Jordan crushed the Knicks. If Jordan said he wanted to join the Knicks, do you think the Knicks owner wouldn't be begging him to join?
Besides, Roy hadn't even joined UCLA yet, just expressed interest. USC would naturally want to jump in and try to sway him.
Not only that, but universities in the Bay Area also came to join the fun, showing that Roy was definitely becoming a big deal.
Alan's face turned red with anger.
"That damn USC! They're so shameless!"
Roy patted Alan on the shoulder and then stood up.
"Mr. Berg, I'm seriously considering USC's offer, but I also have a very good impression of UCLA. I think you understand what I mean, right?"
Of course, Alan understood what Roy meant. He wanted UCLA to sweeten the deal!
But he had no choice. If Alan did nothing, all his efforts over the past few days would have been for nothing.
"I will bring this up with the president and the school board."
Roy nodded in satisfaction. But after giving a stick, you should always offer a carrot.
"Mr. Berg, I'm quite satisfied with our cooperation. If I decide to go pro in the future, perhaps you and Mr. Lambert could both join my coaching team."
Hearing this, Alan's eyes lit up.
This was fantastic news!
Being a coach at a university provides a stable income, but the exposure is limited, and the salary isn't particularly high.
But becoming a professional boxer's coach is different. The exposure increases significantly, and the income will also greatly improve, especially with Roy's incredible talent. There's a very high chance he could become a champion.
The title of a champion's coach carries a lot of weight!
And being a professional boxer's coach wouldn't affect Alan's position at the university.
Boxing is a very unique sport. Top boxers only fight a few times a year and earn a ton of money.
During that time, the coach's main job is to help the boxer stay in shape, which is quite relaxed.
So, most boxing coaches train several boxers.
"Mr. Black, rest assured, I will definitely help you secure the best possible deal!"
Alan suddenly felt a surge of motivation, eager to rush to the UCLA board of directors and fight for Roy.
"Mr. Berg, I believe you can do it."
With that, Roy walked out of the locker room, greeted by the enthusiastic cheers of the crowd.
"Reaper! Reaper! Reaper!"
"Nuke! Nuke! Nuke!"
The two nicknames were shouted back and forth, and the entire venue erupted into a frenzy. After the popularity Roy had gained through several matches in the Santa Monica Cup, his fame in Los Angeles was already comparable to some professional boxers.
There were even newspaper reporters at the venue specifically to see Roy.
"Now entering the ring is the popular Santa Monica Cup competitor, known as 'Reaper' and 'Nuke,' Roy Black! Standing at 6'3", equally skilled with both hands, undefeated since his debut, he's an incredibly well-rounded and terrifying boxing prodigy..."
After Roy entered, the commentator showered him with praise. This was the same commentator who had given Roy the new nickname "Nuke." He was clearly a big fan of Roy and went on and on about him.
Soon, the other boxer entered the ring.
"...Oh, and now, who do we have here? Ah, yes, Alvin Rich, from Caltech."
Yeah, that was it. That short introduction.
This kind of differential treatment made Alvin Rich's face turn dark. Luckily for him, he was Black, so even if his face got darker, no one would be able to tell.
When Roy and Alvin stood face-to-face in the ring, Roy noticed that his opponent was panting heavily, like an agitated bull.
So, while the referee was reading out the rules and prohibitions, Roy asked, "Are you planning on plowing a field later?"
"Pretty boy, don't get cocky! I'm gonna knock your jaw off with one punch!"
It seemed Roy didn't even need to provoke him. Alvin was already in a state of furious rage.
After all, being a boxer who made it to the finals, Alvin still had some confidence, but unfortunately, he was a bit too confident.
The bell rang, signaling the official start of the match.
Alvin rushed forward to attack first, but he didn't expect Roy to also want to end the fight quickly. At this point, there was no need to put on a show anymore.
Roy ducked under Alvin's left jab and then used a V-shaped sway to avoid his opponent's right hook.
At this point, Roy was already very close to Alvin.
And then, with seemingly effortless ease, a swing landed squarely on Alvin's wide-open cheek, and the guy was knocked straight to the ground.
The venue fell silent. The exchange was just too fast. Many spectators in the audience had only blinked, and Alvin was already down.
Fortunately, the finals venue had been upgraded and had a large screen to replay what had just happened.
The replay showed Roy's incredibly swift swing connecting, leaving a noticeable dent in the headgear on Alvin's head, creating a sense of violent aesthetics in slow motion.
Soon, deafening cheers erupted, especially after the referee finished the count and announced Roy's victory by knockout. The cheers reached their peak at that moment.
Even the commentator's voice was drowned out, forcing him to shout to be heard.
"Let's congratulate Mr. Roy Black! This boxer, who hasn't even turned 19 yet, is sure to cause a major earthquake in the boxing world in the future. Let's all wait and see!"
The match was very short, but it took Roy a long time to escape the fans surrounding him, signing autographs until his hand cramped.
It was a bit ridiculous. Once Roy went pro, this kind of situation would probably happen frequently. He needed to find a way to deal with it.
Finally escaping Santa Monica Beach, Roy used the excuse of wanting to properly celebrate his championship win and took Heather alone to the Dolphin Hotel restaurant.
"Heather, happy birthday!"
The restaurant had already been decorated for a birthday party, and a giant cake was ready.
Almost everyone Roy knew in Los Angeles was there, besides Heather and Penny, there were also Mary, Saltana, Dahlia, Ceci, Keller, Molly, Amy, and Iliana.
Only Elrêsa was left in Dahlia's apartment due to her sensitive identity, but Dahlia had already lulled her to sleep before leaving.
Heather's face was full of surprise, but there was also a hint of helplessness.
"Thank you everyone, but today isn't actually my real birthday!"
Penny was stunned to hear this.
"Really? I saw on your driver's license that it says today's your birthday!"
Heather looked a bit helpless.
"That was a random birthday I filled in after my adoptive parents adopted me."
Heather was taken away and brought to Los Angeles to be raised when she was very young. Her driver's license was obtained after that, and her real birthday was probably only known by her late grandmother.
Penny felt a bit embarrassed about this, but Heather didn't blame her, and the two hugged.
"It's okay, let's just treat today as my birthday! Let's light the candles!"
As soon as Ceci heard about lighting candles, she clamored to help Heather light them.
So, Heather picked up Ceci, and together they lit the candles. Then came the part where they sang the birthday song and made a wish.
"Happy birthday to you..."
Heather closed her eyes and made a wish, then blew out all the candles.
"Heather, tell us, what did you wish for?"
Penny excitedly started asking Heather about her wish, but Heather was a little embarrassed.
Everyone then looked at Heather with knowing smiles, except for Ceci, who was still a bit confused.
Heather shyly picked up the knife to cut the cake.
"Time to cut the cake!"
"Yay!"
As soon as they heard about cutting the cake, Ceci was the most excited. She had been craving cake for a while and was going to eat her fill today.
But while eating the cake, Penny suddenly started playing a prank and smeared cake on Heather's face.
"Penelope!"
Heather shrieked and started grabbing cake to retaliate, but her aim was a bit off, and she hit Molly instead.
"Ah—"
Molly was only 17 and hadn't experienced anything like this before. She immediately grabbed two pieces of cake and started attacking.
In an instant, the great cake war had begun!
All the women seemed to have become 10 years younger as they frantically threw cake, creating a chaotic scene.
Roy initially stood on the sidelines, watching the fun. Hair-pulling and all that was the most interesting.
"Sisters! Don't forget about Roy!"
But when Iliana noticed that Roy was still clean and pointed the finger at him, all the cakes suddenly flew towards Roy.
"What the f—!"
In the end, Roy was the worst off, basically covered in cake from head to toe.
The other women were also covered in cake, and the restaurant was a mess. The restaurant staff working the next morning were probably going to have a rough time.
"Delicious!"
The only one unaffected was Ceci, who sat alone under the cake, eating non-stop with cream all over her face.
Everyone looked at each other's appearances and couldn't help but burst into laughter.
The party ended, and everyone went their separate ways.
Keller and Molly cleaned up a bit before leaving. Dahlia took her daughter to bathe, and after bathing and putting her daughter to sleep, she still had to check on Elrêsa.
Mary used the bathroom and then left as well.
As for the others, they simply stayed overnight at the Dolphin Hotel.
Roy had specifically booked an extra-large presidential suite for tonight, big enough for everyone to stay together.
As the birthday girl for the night, Heather had priority. Then, she pushed Roy into the luxurious master bathroom.
"Roy, do you want to know what I wished for just now?"
"What did you wish for?"
Heather leaned close to Roy's ear and whispered something.
"I want to have a cute baby with you!"
This was the most touching love confession, instantly sending Roy into a frenzy.
"Heather, you have so much cake on you. Let me help you clean it off!"
Heather finally understood how powerful the berserk Roy was, but she didn't regret saying those words. That was indeed her current wish.
First Blood!
However, this made the few women waiting outside for their turn in the bathroom suffer a bit.
Listening to Heather's beautiful and moving singing voice, one high note after another, was indeed quite unbearable.
Soon, Penny, the one with the thickest skin, couldn't take it anymore.
"Heather seems to be in trouble. I'm going in to help!"
Penny's words made Iliana's eyes light up. This older sister wasn't exactly shy either.
"Me too!"
Now, only Saltana and Amy were left in the living room.
Saltana was the most reserved, while Amy was a bit better. But when they heard the singing in the bathroom go from a solo to a duet, then a trio, they immediately felt like they had ants crawling all over them.
Double Kill!
Triple Kill!
"Saltana, how about..."
Amy finally couldn't hold back and looked at Saltana with an inquiring gaze.
Saltana gritted her teeth and nodded. The two of them went into the bathroom together.
Quadra Kill!
Penta Kill!
Aced.
Fortunately, the bathroom in the presidential suite was big enough, otherwise, it really wouldn't have fit so many people!
【Ding! Obtained Iliana Scott's Conquest Treasure Chest! Open it?】
【Ding! Obtained Heather Sawyer's Conquest Treasure Chest! Open it?】
That night, Roy achieved his first Penta Kill, fighting until dawn and sending positive energy to Heather before it ended.
Even with Roy's physique attribute reaching 52 points, he still felt a bit tired.
However, this battle yielded two more Conquest Treasure Chests, which greatly surprised Roy.
Could it be that the more people involved in the battle, the higher the probability of getting treasure chests?
Roy looked at the chaotic battlefield, lost in thought.
Forget it, let's open the treasure chests first. Roy currently had five treasure chests.
He petted the five cute kittens, and then gently placed the five sleeping women on the bed and tucked them in. Roy then went to the living room to officially start opening the treasure chests.
First was the Mirror Spirit's Fate Treasure Chest.
【Opening the Mirror Spirit's Fate Treasure Chest...】
【Obtained 2 Spirit Attribute Points!】
【Obtained 1 Willpower Attribute Point!】
Okay, the mirror spirit inside the ghost mirror was really weak, so Roy had already prepared himself for not getting anything good.
Hopefully, Elrêsa's Conquest Treasure Chest wouldn't be disappointing. After all, she was the daughter of the King of Lust.
【Opening Elrêsa's Conquest Treasure Chest...】
【Obtained 3 Memory Attribute Points!】
【Obtained 3 Spirit Attribute Points!】
【Obtained 3 Willpower Attribute Points!】
【Obtained Shard of Original Sin (Lust)!】
Wow, it directly gave a +3 to all three Spirit-related attributes!
And there was also a special item!
【Shard of Original Sin (Lust): A shard of original sin from the King of Lust, only obtainable from the King's kin. If you collect all the shards of original sin, could you become the King of Hell?】
The system's description was a bit ambiguous, but it made Roy realize that this shard of original sin was a very important item.
Roy took the Shard of Original Sin (Lust) out of his inventory. It was an egg-sized, pink, irregularly shaped stone. Holding it made him feel a little restless.
Since there was a Shard of Original Sin (Lust), were there other shards of original sin?
Could this be the true source of power for the Seven Demon Lords of Hell?
Even the Key of Solomon didn't record this knowledge. Roy had no choice but to put the Shard of Original Sin (Lust) away for now.
Next was Jack Dell's Fate Treasure Chest.
【Opening Jack Dell's Fate Treasure Chest...】
【Obtained 1 Agility Attribute Point!】
【Obtained 1 Memory Attribute Point!】
【Obtained Shard of Original Sin (Greed)!】
"Whoa, look at that! We actually got something!"
The system description for the Shard of Original Sin (Greed) is pretty much the same as it was for Lust, just swapping out the King of Lust for the King of Greed.
Roy took out the Shard of Original Sin (Greed), and he noticed this one was a lot smaller than the Lust shard. It was probably only about the size of a quail egg. It was still an irregularly shaped stone, but this one was gold.
Looks like the size of the Original Sin shard you get depends on how close the Sin's follower is to their master.
Like, Eluruisha is Asmodeus's daughter, so she was able to get an egg-sized Original Sin shard.
Jack Del is probably a favored subordinate of Mammon, so he could get a quail egg-sized one too.
As for a certain someone who shall remain nameless, a follower of Beelzebub… haha, they got absolutely nothing!
Mahogany: Hey, stop talking about me like that!
But even though he's gotten Original Sin shards two times in a row, Roy still has no idea how to use these things. They're just taking up space in his inventory.
Hopefully, the next two treasure chests will have some good stuff in them.
Nope, gotta wash my hands again!
Roy then washed his hands again using five little cat toys. He even wiped off the cat slobber with some "peace of mind" wipes before continuing to open the chests.
[Opening Marlena Scott's Conquest Treasure Chest…] Assassin's Heart: A special ability passed down from an ancient assassin organization called the "Mutual Aid Society." Only those with exceptional talent can learn it, and it includes various superpowers.
Gun Kata: An assassin can quickly flick their wrist the instant a bullet leaves the chamber, giving the bullet horizontal velocity and creating a curved trajectory.
Bullet Time: When their heart rate accelerates, an assassin can see details that are normally too fast for the human eye to catch, and their reaction speed also greatly increases.
Oh, wow, these are the abilities from the movie Wanted! That movie was pretty well-known for its cool gunfight scenes. Angelina Jolie was the female lead in that film. So, Roy basically got the abilities of Iliana's alternate-world counterpart.
How should I put this? With Roy's current physical stats, Gun Kata doesn't seem all that useful, unless it's for situations where he can't reveal his identity.
On the other hand, the Bullet Time ability is super versatile. It's an excellent support ability for both close-quarters combat and ranged attacks.
(Angelina Jolie's famous scene from Wanted)
Finally, there's Heather's treasure chest.
[Opening Heather Sawyer's Conquest Treasure Chest…]
[Gained 1 point of Strength!]
[Gained 1 point of Constitution!]
[Gained Expert-Level Water Sports Skills!]
Huh, another skill?
Water sports include swimming, diving, sailing, surfing, and stuff like that. It's a pretty practical life skill.
But Roy's a little confused. How did Heather get this skill? When they were playing on Santa Monica beach before, she didn't exactly seem like a great swimmer.
Then, Roy thought of a movie, Baywatch.
Alexandra Daddario was in that movie. The expert-level water sports skills must have come from Heather's alternate-world counterpart.
Not bad! Maybe next time they go swimming, he can trick Jennifer Niedy into making another bet with him!
(Alexandra Daddario in a still from Baywatch)

Chapter 169: That's All You'd Ever Need in This Life
A yellow Chevrolet Camaro was cruising down a highway in Nevada, carrying a handsome man and a beautiful woman.
The handsome man was naturally Roy, and the beautiful woman was Elrisha.
Roy had originally planned to go home with Heather Penny in a few days, as there was still work to be done at the studio.
However, the principal of Oak High School was putting on a lot of pressure, so Roy had to head back early, leaving Heather and Penny to handle studio matters in Los Angeles.
As for Elrisha, since she only drank Roy's baby milkshake, Roy had no choice but to bring her along.
Fortunately, under Dahlia's tutelage, Elrisha had made rapid progress, and her mental age was around that of a 6-year-old child. So, Roy didn't have to worry about Elrisha losing control on the road.
The only trouble was that Elrisha still didn't like wearing clothes and would go skinny dipping at the drop of a hat, which left Roy feeling pretty helpless.
This time, Roy didn't take the same route he came by. Instead, he went through Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and finally into Texas.
The reason for taking the longer route was mainly because Roy wanted to join the Mormon Church in Utah. This was something that needed to be done sooner rather than later, otherwise, it would be very troublesome for him to join the Mormon Church after he became truly famous.
As evening approached, outside a remote mining town in Nevada, an illegal motorcycle race was taking place.
A group of teenagers in their prime, with energy to burn, enjoyed playing this kind of thrilling game, indirectly contributing to the population decline in America.
Suddenly, the sound of a police siren rang out, immediately startling these cheerful youngsters.
The crowd scattered like birds, those with vehicles quickly driving away.
But there were always some unlucky ones who got stopped by the police car and had to accept their fate.
The beautiful female sheriff, Samantha Parker, stepped out of the police car. She had spotted her daughter, Ashley Parker, at this illegal gathering.
This made Samantha very angry.
"Ashley, you're messing around with Randy again!"
Ashley, chewing bubblegum, looked at her mother with disdain, clearly in the throes of heavy teenage rebellion.
The deputy sheriff, Pete, standing nearby, wanted to advise Sheriff Samantha.
"Ahem! Sheriff, this involves the mayor's son. Maybe we should just let it slide?"
Samantha glared at Pete. She was currently furious and naturally dissatisfied with the deputy's attempt to smooth things over.
"I don't care whose son it is, round them all up!"
The group of teenagers immediately looked dejected.
Just then, a car drove over from a distance and stopped beside Samantha.
"Samantha?"
A middle-aged man with a stubbly beard leaned out of the car window. Samantha found him very familiar.
"You are?"
"It's Moke!"
Samantha suddenly realized who it was. It turned out the other person was a resident of the town and had been her childhood friend.
"Moke, haven't you been back for almost ten years?"
Moke's expression looked a bit embarrassed.
"Indeed, it's been ten years since I've been back."
Samantha smiled and shook hands with Moke.
"It's great to have you back! How was it outside?"
Moke fell silent, clearly his ten years away from home hadn't been entirely happy.
Samantha realized she had said the wrong thing and quickly tried to make up for it.
"Uh, since you're back, why don't you stay for a while?"
Moke gave a wry smile.
"I'm planning to stay in this town and inherit the family business."
Moke's father was a mine owner in this mining town. Gold had once been discovered here, but the mine had been depleted more than a decade ago.
However, Moke himself was a seasoned mining engineer and might still be able to prospect for new gold mines, which was why he had returned to his hometown.
Samantha didn't know how to respond for a moment. Was this the "poor little rich boy" lament?
You have to know that Samantha had joined the Marine Corps when she was young and only returned to her hometown to become a small-town sheriff after serving for nearly ten years.
Rich people were so annoying, always inadvertently making ordinary people feel a pang of envy.
At this moment, a yellow Chevrolet Camaro drove over from a distance and also stopped beside the sheriff.
The car window rolled down, revealing a ridiculously handsome face that instantly captured the attention of all the women present.
"Hey, beautiful lady, could you tell me how to get to the nearest town?"
Samantha thought: He called me a beautiful lady!
Sheriff Samantha's husband had passed away several years ago. In recent years, she had closed her heart and focused on raising her son and daughter. Now, she felt like she was back in her youthful years.
Samantha's daughter, Ashley, had a similar feeling. She suddenly felt that Randy, the mayor's son who she had previously thought was somewhat handsome, was now just a country bumpkin.
However, Ashley also noticed a beautiful woman with a silly expression, wearing a white dress, sitting in Roy's passenger seat.
"If only I were sitting in the passenger seat!"
Ashley muttered to herself. Randy, who was next to her, didn't hear clearly and thought she was worried about being arrested.
"Ashley, don't worry! My dad's the mayor. Samantha won't do anything to us!"
Ashley glared at Randy. She now thought this guy was incredibly lame.
She really wanted to sit in that cool yellow Chevrolet Camaro muscle car!
"Go straight down this road, and turn right at the next intersection."
Samantha gave Roy directions with a beaming smile, making Moke next to her feel extremely jealous.
This guy had always secretly admired Samantha but never dared to say anything.
Seeing Samantha acting this way towards another man, Moke felt like he was growing a green pasture on his head.
Roy glanced at Samantha's police badge.
"Thank you! Beautiful Sheriff!"
This compliment made Samantha grin from ear to ear. She continued to talk to Roy.
"Sir, are you planning to stay overnight in town?"
Roy nodded. To avoid staying in another dark web motel, he decided to find a town to stay in for the night while it was still dusk.
This town seemed pretty normal. Hopefully, nothing like the Willy's Wonderland incident would happen again, right?
"Yes, I've been driving all day and need to rest."
"What's your name?"
"Roy Black. I'm from Texas and heading home."
Samantha understood.
"I know the town's inn. Would you like me to recommend it to you?"
"Heck yeah! That would be great!"
Seeing Samantha and Roy getting more and more chatty, Deputy Pete couldn't stand it anymore.
"Ahem! Sheriff, we still need to deal with the illegal street racing case!"
Samantha finally snapped back to reality.
"Oh, right! Mr. Black, why don't you go to the town's police station and wait for me? After I deal with these rebellious kids, I'll help you find an inn."
"Thank you very much, beautiful Sheriff! Wait, I don't even know your name yet!"
"Samantha Parker. You can call me Samantha."
"Then you can call me Roy."
As he spoke, Roy extended his hand and shook hands with Samantha.
[Discovered special character Samantha Parker. You can absorb the power of fate to obtain rewards!]
Roy: ???
Why is it another special character?
At this moment, Roy noticed that Sheriff Samantha's mature womanly charm was particularly familiar. Then, he looked at the row of teenagers standing there and indeed found a familiar face.
Black Widow?
Roy had watched almost all the movies Scarlett Johansson had starred in in his previous life, and this youthful version of Black Widow was definitely from the movie Eight Legged Freaks.
Roy's expression became strange, momentarily making him forget to pull his hand back.
Samantha, whose hand was being held, felt her face gradually turn red. She hadn't felt shy in many years.
Pete was a little speechless and had to cough a second time to remind them.
"Ahem! Sheriff Samantha, it's going to get dark soon if we don't deal with this!"
Samantha quickly pulled her hand back, forcing herself to maintain a straight face. If others saw the smile on her face, her authority as sheriff would be compromised.
"See you at the police station, Roy!"
"See you at the police station!"
Roy restarted his car and drove away.
Arriving in the mining town, it looked very desolate.
Many similar small towns that sprang up due to mining were like this. Once the mines were depleted, they would quickly decline.
Roy waited for a while in front of the police station and saw a little boy walking over holding an empty jar.
There was also a tarantula in the little boy's jar.
Roy's eyes lit up. This little boy should be Black Widow's younger brother in the movie, a little boy who loved spiders.
"Hey, kiddo, are you waiting for your mom?"
The little boy nodded shyly.
"What's your name?"
"Mike Parker."
Too bad, if your name was Peter Parker, you'd have it made for life.
This Mike Parker's character was too similar to Spider-Man's, making it hard not to吐槽 (tu cao - complain/roast).
After chatting with Mike Parker for a while, Samantha walked out of the police station in plain clothes, with the rebellious teenager Ashley by her side.
It seemed that the female sheriff had a soft heart after all and hadn't really locked up her daughter.
"Mike, what are you doing here?"
"Mom, I didn't see you when I got home from school, so I came to the police station to look for you! Look, this tarantula is so pretty!"
Mike proudly showed his mother the tarantula in the jar. Unfortunately, women usually have a hard time appreciating creatures with more legs than them. Ashley showed a clear look of disgust, and Samantha's smile was also very forced.
"Yes, it's really pretty. Roy, have you been waiting long?"
"It's okay, I haven't been waiting long."
Roy said politely, but Elrisha in the car wasn't so polite.
"Daddy, I'm hungry!"
These words immediately made Samantha and Ashley give strange looks. They began to size up Roy and Elrisha with peculiar gazes.
This made Roy very embarrassed.
"How many times have I told you, don't call me Daddy!"
Elrisha pouted and rubbed her belly.
"But I'm hungry!"
Roy quickly explained, "This is my distant relative. She has some mental issues and always likes to call me Daddy."
Samantha and Ashley carefully observed Elrisha's face and indeed found that her expression was very silly and not like a normal person.
Ashley asked Roy with some curiosity, "Mr. Black, why did you bring her along?"
"Oh, Elrisha's parents had an accident, and our family is the only relative left, so I'm driving her back to Texas."
Roy told a lie, but it was a pretty reasonable lie, so Samantha and Ashley didn't suspect anything further.
"Okay, I'll take you to find an inn first, and then I'll tell you about the restaurants in town, how does that sound?"
"Thank you then, Ms. Samantha."
Samantha enthusiastically led Roy to the inn, but finding a restaurant wasn't so easy.
This small town only had one restaurant, and the owner happened to be out, so the restaurant was closed.
"Roy, why don't you come to my house for dinner?"
Samantha made a suggestion. Ashley's eyes lit up. She had never agreed with her mother's opinion so much before.
"Yeah, yeah!"
Roy frowned slightly. He didn't really want to go to Samantha's house for dinner because Elrisha's diet was too strange, and it would be troublesome if it was exposed.
But there was really nowhere else to eat in town, so Roy had no choice but to agree to Samantha.
"Wouldn't that be too much trouble?"
"Of course not!"
Then, Samantha drove her police car in front, leading Roy to her doorstep.
Moke's house was right next to Samantha's. They had been old neighbors for many years. When he saw Samantha return, he originally wanted to bring a bottle of red wine to chat with the female sheriff.
But unexpectedly, Roy's car also followed behind Samantha's, and then he saw Samantha and Roy enter the house, talking and laughing.
Moke was instantly petrified.
Just then, Moke's father found him.
"Moke, I want to talk to you about the mine—what's wrong?"
Moke's father noticed that Moke's face was as white as a sheet, but his hair was inexplicably a bit green, which he found very strange.
"I'm fine, Father. What did you want to talk to me about?"
Moke forced a smile, looking very gloomy.
"It's like this, the mayor has been wanting to buy my mine and has been pressuring me lately, but I've already leased the mine to an Amalgamated Tech company. Do you think I should sell it to the mayor?"
Moke frowned.
"Why would the mayor suddenly want to buy our mine? Isn't our mine already depleted of gold?"
Moke's father was also very speechless.
"Yes, that mine has been idle for a long time, so I leased it to Amalgamated. I don't know why the mayor insists on buying this mine."
Moke's father was already old and no longer had the desire to manage the mine. If his son hadn't returned to town, he might have really sold the mine.
"Father, how long is your contract with that Amalgamated company?"
"Three more years."
"Then let's not sell it for now. Let's wait until the contract is fulfilled. I'll talk to the mayor tomorrow to understand the reason for the acquisition."
Moke's father nodded.
"Sigh, now that you're back, I feel much more relaxed."
Looking at his gray-haired father, Moke couldn't help but feel a little sad. He hadn't been back for ten years, and his father had aged so much.
Moke made up his mind to stay in the small town.
Since he was going to stay in town, should he also marry a woman from the town?
Then Moke thought of Samantha.
Waaah, Samantha has never smiled at me like that!
Moke couldn't help but feel a wave of sadness.
Samantha Parker (Kari Wuhrer)
