Since the demon form wasn't convenient, Roy had no choice but to transform into his angel form.
Even though the angel form's wings were also kind of a pain, at least the light wings could be folded away and wouldn't affect Roy's fighting.
The tentacle demon, which Roy had just slashed with his sword, finally seemed to notice Roy's presence. It turned around, its tentacles wriggling constantly as if trying to attack him.
And then...
Well, there was no "and then"!
Were you seriously expecting a lower-level demon that had been trapped by humans for 40 years to be able to defeat Roy in his four-winged angel form?
This dude was reduced to dust by Roy!
[Ding! Acquired a Fate Treasure Chest from a subordinate of Leviathan! Open it?]
Seriously? Another subordinate of Leviathan? Are they all this weak?
But it seems like Demon Lords don't choose their subordinates based on strength, but rather on whether they personally like them.
Back when Roy became a subordinate of Belial, he wasn't much stronger than this Leviathan lackey.
After returning to his human form, Roy left the secret room and went out to the warehouse. But he found that Wade and Emma weren't there waiting for him.
Had they bolted?
He had just been mentally praising Wade for being loyal, but the guy ran off so fast, making Roy's face fall.
Roy walked towards the outside of the factory building and saw Wade's back at the corner.
"Wade, it's all taken care of! You don't need to run anymore!"
However, Wade didn't seem to hear him. He stood there motionless with his back to Roy.
And Roy didn't see Emma anywhere near Wade either.
That's weird. Didn't Wade escape the secret room with Emma just now? Where did Emma go?
Feeling like something was off, Roy walked up and patted Wade on the shoulder. The guy still didn't react. When Roy turned him around, he saw that Wade's eyes were rolled back and he had lost consciousness.
What the heck is going on?
"Are you looking for me, big brother Roy?"
Suddenly, Emma's voice came from behind him.
Roy turned his head and saw Emma standing in the passage he had just come from, still wearing that perfect, flawless smile.
But for some reason, Roy felt like the current Emma was different from before.
Mentally raising his alertness to the max, Roy put on a very relaxed act and spoke to Emma.
"Oh, little Emma, so you were here! I thought you got lost! The demon's been taken care of, let's go home!"
Emma just shook her head with a smile.
"Sorry, big brother Roy, I'm not the same as I used to be. I'm about to set sail now. Actually, I kinda like you, but too bad..."
The smile on Emma's face faded, and then Roy felt like someone had hammered a nail into his head.
Roy figured out why Wade had become like that. Emma must have been triggered by that demon earlier and awakened her witch talent.
And this talent happened to be a mental control type. Wade was controlled on the spot and lost consciousness.
Emma, having awakened her witch talent, must have been quite pleased with herself, which is why she said that just now. But this kid was still too young and thought that awakening a witch talent would be enough to deal with him?
No way! He had even dealt with the very first witch, so how could he not handle a little witch who had just awakened?
Shaking his head, the throbbing pain in his head quickly subsided. His mental stat of 48 and willpower stat of 50 gave Roy very strong resistance to mental attacks.
"Little Emma, your behavior is a bit much right now! Come over here right now and apologize nicely, or don't blame your big brother for teaching you a lesson!"
After all, she was still just a kid. Roy decided to give Emma a chance to apologize. If an adult had done this, Roy would have definitely just walked over and slapped them a couple of times.
Roy's reaction surprised Emma, so she continued to use her power for a mental attack.
The continuous stinging pain made Roy frown. He was starting to get angry.
"Emma Black!"
Just as he was about to walk towards Emma, the voice of the warehouse manager came from behind him.
"Hey, what are you and Wade doing playing around here? Has the warehouse situation been taken care of or not?"
It turned out that the warehouse manager saw on the security camera that Wade was standing blankly in the aisle, and Roy was walking back and forth, so he found it very strange and came to check.
Wait, why only two people?
Roy immediately turned his head, his pupils turning dark gold as he looked towards Emma's location.
Sure enough, in the vision of the Eye of Truth, Emma's location just now was just an illusion. The real Emma was nowhere to be found.
Damn it! That little brat actually dared to pull a trick like that!
Roy got even angrier.
The warehouse manager behind him saw that Roy wasn't responding and also got very angry, cursing under his breath as he walked towards Roy.
"What the heck! What do you think you're doing, kid? Get out of here right now!"
The warehouse manager grabbed Roy's shoulder, but Roy executed an over-the-shoulder throw, sending the manager crashing to the ground, completely disoriented.
"I'm in a bad mood right now, you better not mess with me!"
Roy stepped over the warehouse manager. The manager was about to curse, but then he saw Roy's cold, ruthless golden pupils, as well as a dozen or so crisp, green hundred-dollar bills scattered on the ground.
The warehouse manager's eyes lit up, and he immediately swallowed back his curses.
Looking closely, all the bills were hundred-dollar bills. A dozen of them were worth his entire month's salary!
The warehouse manager really wanted to shout at Roy, asking if he could throw him a few more times.
He completely ignored Roy's unusual golden pupils.
Roy began searching for Emma's location in the factory building. The entire place was full of warehouses, so there weren't many places to really hide, and only the front door could be used to exit; the back door was locked.
He was certain that Emma was still hiding in the factory building. Roy didn't believe that a little girl who had just awakened her powers could create illusions and mental attacks from hundreds of yards away.
Maybe just now, Emma was hiding around the corner, controlling the illusion, and Roy just didn't see her.
You want to play hide-and-seek, huh? Well, don't let me catch you!
Roy narrowed his eyes and quickly moved through the aisles. But the factory building was a maze of passages, making it really not easy to find a kid.
And Emma would occasionally create illusions or launch mental attacks to try and mess with Roy.
So, in order to turn the unfavorable situation around, Roy decided to call for backup.
He took out his Cursed Double Daggers and released Sadako and Kayako.
"You two, one of you block the exit, and the other come with me to find Emma!"
Emma hunched over and carefully went around a corner, the expression on her face was quite unpleasant.
She had originally thought that after awakening her supernatural powers, she would be able to beat everyone up and become an invincible queen. But Roy had immediately brought her back to reality with a harsh blow.
For some reason, the illusions suddenly stopped working on Roy, and her mental attacks couldn't control him either. This made Emma feel very uneasy.
Moreover, Emma had just seen Roy's expression and knew that her cousin was probably really angry. If she got caught...
Emma couldn't help but shiver!
Luckily, she had been smart enough not to reveal her location directly.
At this moment, Emma was very close to the factory door, which was wide open.
The warm afternoon sunlight shone in, which felt like a ray of hope to Emma.
As long as she could run out, as long as she could get away from Roy...
Emma cautiously peeked her head out to see what was on the other side of the corner. She didn't see Roy.
Opportunity!
Emma immediately took off running towards the factory door shining with the light of hope. Victory was within reach!
Thump! Emma fell to the ground.
"Ouch! That hurt!"
Little girls have a rather limited tolerance for pain, and Emma couldn't help but cry out.
Just now, it felt like something grabbed Emma's ankle, causing her to fall. But when Emma turned around to look behind her, she didn't see anything.
Was it just her imagination?
Emma held back her tears and stood up again. She had fallen pretty hard just now, causing her to limp slightly.
Just as she took a step, Emma was pulled down again. This time, because she wasn't running when she fell, it wasn't a very serious fall.
Why was this happening?
Emma looked behind her again, still nothing.
Clear footsteps came from a distance, and Emma realized that if she didn't leave now, she wouldn't be able to.
No matter what the reason, she would crawl out if she had to. Just leaving this factory building would be victory.
And then...
Emma realized her leg was caught, and she couldn't even crawl.
Turning her head, Emma saw a big sister with disheveled hair and a long white dress holding her ankle.
This big sister also had a pair of bloodshot, wide eyes, just like the image of a female ghost commonly seen in horror movies.
Emma had to cover her mouth to suppress her scream. But even if she controlled the scream, it was useless because Roy had already walked over.
"Kayako, nice work! Hehe, little Emma, I finally found you!"
Emma's body stiffened, and she forced a smile.
"Big brother Roy, did you make this woman in the white dress too?"
"Yeah, she's a vengeful spirit. I had her wait at the door for you, and then I deliberately let my guard down to lure you to the door so she could grab you."
Emma experienced the sinister tactics of adults for the first time, looking at Roy approaching step by step with a tearful face.
"Big brother Roy, I know I was wrong!"
"No, no, no, you don't know you're wrong. You just know you're about to get your butt kicked! And I can tell you right now, you guessed right, I am definitely going to give you a spanking!"
Emma, with some unknown strength, suddenly jumped up and ran outside. Kayako, caught off guard, actually didn't grab her.
When Emma ran to the doorway where the sunlight could reach, Kayako could only retract her hand.
Powerful vengeful spirits can indeed appear during the day, but that doesn't mean they can directly face the sunlight.
Just as she rushed out the door, before Emma could feel the joy of victory, her waist was somehow entangled by black, thread-like things.
Looking closely, it seemed like hair?
"Get back here!"
Roy, holding the other end of the Cursed Hair in his hand, easily pulled Emma back.
Next, Emma had to face the traditional performance: Anse Hip Drum (a euphemism for getting spanked).
"Ah! Big brother Roy, I really know I was wrong! Stop hitting me!"
"It hurts so much! Please, don't hit me anymore!"
Daddy Roy's class is now in session!
If a child is disobedient and always causing trouble, they're probably spoiled. A good spanking will fix it!
Quickly use the ancestral skill, the Anse Hip Drum. Give them a spanking every day, and Mom won't have to worry about the child being disobedient anymore!
After the spanking, Emma squatted on the ground, constantly wiping away tears, while Roy looked down at her.
"Make Wade go back to normal right now!"
Emma nodded repeatedly, not daring to delay.
After a while, Wade walked out of the factory building with a face full of confusion.
"Boss, what just happened? I feel like I've forgotten something."
It seemed that Wade, while controlled, didn't retain any memories from that time.
"Emma, apologize to Wade right now!"
Emma trembled slightly, then obediently apologized to Wade.
"Sorry, big brother Wade!"
Wade was a little confused.
"Boss, what's going on?"
"Nothing much. There were just some unexpected things that happened. But I've already dealt with the demon in the secret room, and I've got the books. I'm planning to buy these four books using the remaining share of the money from that batch."
Wade's eyes widened. Half of the drugs obtained from the Gospel Welfare Home hadn't been sold yet, and Roy's share of that would probably be worth over a hundred thousand dollars.
That's not a small chunk of change!
Because of this, Wade even stuttered a little when he spoke.
"T-that's really not necessary, boss! They're just four old books, you can just give them a little something!"
Roy waved his hand.
"Wade, these four books are priceless in the eyes of professionals. They're worth this price! Besides, Emma did something bad to you just now. Consider this money as compensation."
Wade looked at Roy, then at Emma squatting on the ground crying, and seemed to realize something.
After hesitating again and again, Wade finally accepted the money.
"Boss, if you need anything in the future, just let me know. As long as it's within my power, I'll definitely help as much as possible!"
Roy nodded. Wade was a wild card, who knows when he might come in handy.
"You don't need to worry about the warehouse anymore. I'll have someone take care of it, but you should talk to the warehouse manager."
Wade puffed out his chest.
"No problem, I'll go talk to the manager right now!"
Having suddenly gained over a hundred thousand dollars, who would still care about that little warehouse money? At worst, he could just rent the warehouse, it wouldn't cost much anyway.
As for who Roy would get to clean up the warehouse, it was of course the professional cleanup crew, FEA!
Roy pulled Emma back to the car, then called Gerald and explained the situation in the warehouse.
Soon, local FEA agents from Austin arrived to clean up, seal off the secret room, and take away the remaining ashes of the tentacle demon.
Just selling this information to Gerald would earn Roy more than Wade's hundred thousand dollars, and it would be completely legal and compliant.
Afterwards, Roy immediately drove away from Austin.
On the way back to Waterfall Town, Roy stopped the car on a secluded side road and then turned his head to look at Emma.
Because her butt hurt too much, Emma could only lie on her stomach on the back seat of the car.
Feeling Roy's cold gaze, Emma trembled all over. Her ability to control her facial expressions had completely collapsed, and she could only manage a forced smile.
"R-Roy, big brother Roy, is, is there something wrong?"
"Tell me, what exactly happened with your dad!"
Chapter 189: What a Performance of Anse Waist Drum!
Emma's pupils constricted. Although her expression didn't change much, Roy still caught a hint of fear.
It seemed there was indeed more to the story about Emma's father, his own uncle, suddenly going crazy.
"Did your aunt and uncle tell you about it? That's just how it was! Didn't the police explain everything?"
Emma was still trying to play innocent, but unfortunately, her credibility with Roy had completely tanked.
Roy wouldn't easily believe anything Emma said now.
Seeing the little girl still trying to argue, Roy raised his hand, scaring Emma into immediately shrinking into a ball.
"You're still lying!"
"Don't hit me! I'll talk, I'll talk!"
Sure enough, when kids are disobedient, they just need a good spanking. What's all this talk about therapists and personality correction? Nothing beats the traditional educational philosophy of ancient University.
Look at Emma now. Does she still seem to have even a hint of histrionic personality disorder?
This terrified expression was completely genuine.
Under the threat of the iron fist, Emma finally began to confess the truth.
It all started with a citizenship award medal issued by the school.
This citizenship award was somewhat like an "Excellent All-Around Student" certificate, but even more prestigious. Only one person in the entire school could receive it.
In front of everyone, Emma was a well-behaved, cute, smart, and almost perfect child—the kind of kid we often heard about in urban legends when we were young, the "other kid."
So Emma believed that this citizenship award should naturally be hers.
However, Emma's homeroom teacher at the time saw Emma stealing something from a classmate and realized the true nature hidden beneath the perfect facade. Therefore, she didn't give the citizenship award to Emma but to another little boy.
Then, tragedy struck.
The little boy was found drowned in the sea after falling off a nearby cliff during a school party, and the medal he had just received was also missing.
Don't ask why such a school was built on the edge of a cliff. In any case, Emma was confirmed to be the last person to have contact with the little boy, making her the prime suspect.
"I really just liked that medal and wanted to borrow it for a few days. As for why he fell off the cliff, I really don't know!"
Emma cried, tears streaming down her face. An ordinary person would definitely feel sorry for such a cute little girl crying.
But Roy was hard-hearted. He might be soft on beautiful older women, but he would never be soft on children.
"And then what?"
"Dad and the homeroom teacher both thought I did it. The homeroom teacher went around asking people to investigate me, and my father also thought there was a demon living inside me. He took me to a secluded bed and breakfast to try and kill me. Luckily, someone nearby heard the commotion and came over to shoot and stop him."
In Emma's version of the story, she was like an innocent white lotus flower, and all the problems were persecutions inflicted upon her by the outside world, including her father and that homeroom teacher.
This story was comparable to a melodramatic online post, omitting a large number of objective facts and filled only with her subjective emotions. Roy wouldn't believe a single word of it.
"You said your uncle thought there was a demon inside you?"
Emma nodded, looking wronged.
"Okay, let's get out of the car."
"W-why do we need to get out of the car?"
Although Emma was confused, she still obediently got out.
She had no choice; after all, Roy really would spank her butt.
"Of course, it's to let you see what a real demon looks like!"
With that, black smoke erupted from Roy's body, transforming him into a three-meter-tall demon. He exuded a terrifying aura, and his cold, dark golden pupils stared at Emma.
"Emma, look into my eyes and tell me the complete truth right now! This is your last chance. If you lie to me again, you know what will happen!"
Looking at Roy's hulking and oppressive demonic form, Emma was completely terrified.
So much so that she didn't even realize she had lost control of her bladder, and some obvious wet patches appeared under her feet.
This time Roy was serious. If Emma didn't repent, he would hand her over to the FEA.
"R-Roy... big brother? Y-you're a demon? Then why do you still do good things? Aren't demons the embodiment of evil?"
"Who told you demons have to be bad? I've never killed a good person! And I won't allow a real demon to exist around me."
Roy's meaning was very clear, and the pressure emanating from him grew stronger, causing Emma to gradually lose her footing and fall to the ground.
"Last chance, make your choice, Emma!"
Under the oppressive force of Roy's terrifying aura, Emma's emotions finally began to break down.
"Why do you all doubt me? Why do you all force me!"
Emma knelt on the ground, hysterically roaring at Roy. She didn't notice that her pupils were also turning golden like Roy's, and the whites of her eyes were rapidly filling with blood, even more exaggerated than pinkeye.
Roy felt something was wrong, and then he saw a familiar symbol appear on Emma's forehead—the symbol of the King of Envy!
Soon, Emma's face was covered with black veins, her teeth became incredibly sharp, and black smoke billowed from her body.
This form was very similar to Roy's initial demonic possession form.
Lilith had previously speculated that Emma possessed some kind of lower-plane bloodline. Now it seemed that Emma was likely a descendant of Leviathan, the King of Envy.
Roy instantly understood everything.
No wonder Emma suddenly awakened her witch talents when she came into contact with Leviathan's familiar. It turned out she was stimulated by Leviathan's power.
And the reason why that Leviathan's familiar initially ignored Roy was also because it sensed Leviathan's descendant and couldn't help but chase after her.
"Damn you, Roy! Why do you always target me! Whether it's you, that boy, or the homeroom teacher, the nanny, or my father, you're all targeting me! Everyone who targets me must die!"
Emma erupted with a powerful aura, but in Roy's eyes, this aura was like a kitten hissing.
As the saying goes, a newborn calf is not afraid of a tiger. This newly awakened descendant of Leviathan was the same. She actually ignored the huge size difference and pounced on Roy.
Roy guessed that Emma was probably not strong-willed enough, so she had lost her reason and was controlled by the demon's instincts.
Roy had experienced this kind of thing several times himself, once during the House of Wax incident and another time during the succubus incident.
"Die!"
Emma leaped high, baring her fangs and claws at Roy, and was then slapped to the ground.
"A descendant of Leviathan, huh? Does that mean you can take more of a beating?"
Roy cracked his knuckles, grinning ferociously as he walked towards Emma.
The last time he "played the Anse Waist Drum," Roy used very little force, afraid of hurting the little girl. This time, he should be able to enjoy himself properly.
After all, this little brat Emma really deserved a beating!
Although Emma had lost her mind, the survival instinct of a living being made her realize the danger at this moment. She got up and tried to dart into the forest by the roadside.
If Emma really managed to get into the forest, Roy would have a hard time catching her.
After all, Emma was small and could squeeze into holes and such, which Roy couldn't do, and he would also be easily obstructed by the trees.
Fortunately, Roy had a catching ability.
Soul Grab activated!
With a stretch of his hand, Emma, who had just dashed out, was pulled back by the Soul Grab.
Then, another round of "Anse Waist Drum" ensued.
What a performance of Anse Waist Drum!
This time Roy was serious. He beat Emma until she wished she were dead, finally causing her to revert from her demonic possession form due to the pain.
At this time, Roy also returned to his human form and then took out materials from his inventory to draw a magic circle on Emma's body.
The Leviathan bloodline in Emma's body had seriously affected her way of thinking, so Roy decided to use the sealing magic circle from the Key of Solomon to temporarily seal her demonic bloodline.
He didn't know how much time had passed, but Emma woke up lying prone in the back seat. The sky outside the car window had already turned somewhat dark, indicating that it was approaching night.
Then, Emma felt a sharp pain in her butt. In that instant, she even felt like her butt might have split into three pieces.
"It hurts, it hurts, it hurts so much!"
Roy, who was driving, glanced at Emma, who was crying out in pain.
"You know it hurts now, huh? Will you dare to lie again in the future?"
Emma looked at Roy pitifully.
"Roy, why did you hit me again?"
"You don't remember anything?"
Emma shook her head.
"I only remember being very angry, like a volcano erupting. After that, I don't remember anything."
Sure enough, Leviathan's bloodline had a significant impact on Emma. The bloodline in her body was quite pure; she might even experience atavism.
"Emma, I don't blame you for losing control just now. I lose control sometimes too, but I hope you face your mistakes. That shows there's still hope for you."
Emma was silent for a long time before finally confessing her true feelings.
In the beginning, Emma had a conflict with that little boy because of jealousy, and accidentally pushed him off the cliff.
Then, the homeroom teacher noticed some problems, so Emma followed up by using a hornet's nest to cause the homeroom teacher's car accident, leading to her death.
After that, the nanny at home also discovered Emma's abnormality and threatened her to obey. The result was that Emma set the nanny on fire and burned her alive.
Finally, there was Emma's father, Roy's uncle. He also noticed Emma's problem and originally wanted to take her to a secluded place, kill his daughter, and then commit suicide. But he still couldn't bring himself to do it and was discovered by a neighbor who shot him in the spine, leaving him in a vegetative state.
All of this was because of a small citizenship award medal, because of jealousy, because of resentment.
Because she once侥倖逃過責罰 (luckily escaped punishment), Emma developed evil thoughts, and thus went further and further down a dangerous path.
After confessing all her secrets, Emma breathed a heavy sigh of relief.
Clearly, keeping these secrets hidden in her heart was also a significant burden, making her constantly fearful.
"Roy, are you going to send me to prison?"
Perhaps for a child, the biggest punishment is being sent to prison by the police, which is why Emma said that.
Roy was silent for a moment before answering Emma.
"Your problem isn't just your personality; the demon bloodline is also a very important issue. So I've decided to give you a chance. If you do bad things again, I will kill you!"
Emma felt a chill in her heart. She could tell that Roy wasn't joking, and Roy wouldn't fail like her own father. No one could stop Roy.
"Roy, I'll be good, I won't do bad things anymore!"
"Not just that, you also need to do more good deeds to make up for the sins you've committed in the past. Start right now!"
Emma nodded heavily.
"I will!"
It could be seen that Emma, whose Leviathan bloodline had been sealed, had undergone a huge change in personality. The fake perfect expression on her face was gone, and she looked more like an eight-year-old child than a hypocritical little adult.
"Alright, let's go home!"
After an hour's drive, Roy finally returned to Waterfall Town.
Roy first took Emma to see Lilith.
"Already awakened? Why so fast?"
This situation caught Lilith off guard. She had originally thought Emma would awaken in another two months, so she wasn't in a hurry to control Emma.
As a result, she wasn't paying attention, and Emma suddenly awakened, which made Lilith's expression unpleasant.
"Yes, I encountered a familiar of the King of Envy in Austin, and the bloodline in Emma's body is the King of Envy's bloodline. Under the influence of the King of Envy's familiar, Emma awakened directly."
Lilith bit her thumb, feeling that the situation was very tricky.
"Damn it! We're definitely going to be discovered by the Witch Council now!"
Speaking of this, Roy was a little curious.
"How does the Witch Council find newly awakened little witches?"
"Many years ago, I created a prophetic crystal ball that can detect the energy fluctuations of newly awakened witches. The Witch Council uses this crystal ball to find them."
In a villa in Boston, the capital of Massachusetts (originally set in New Orleans), a woman who looked to be in her late fifties was staring blankly at the scenery outside the window.
For some reason, this woman had been feeling absent-minded lately, constantly experiencing a sense of unease.
This woman was actually a witch, and also the Supreme Witch of the Witch Council, possessing incredibly powerful magic and terrifying talent.
Such powerful abilities gave the witch a certain intuition. If there was a strong feeling of unease, it could only mean that something was about to happen.
What was going to happen? Could it be that Marie Laveau (the Voodoo Queen) was up to something again?
While she was in a daze, the woman suddenly heard familiar footsteps. It was her daughter's footsteps.
"Mother, another new witch has awakened!"
The woman didn't turn around, continuing to look at the scenery outside the window.
"Is that so? Then follow the procedure and bring that witch back."
"Mother, this time the situation is a bit different. That little witch's intuition and power are very strong. She almost blew up the prophetic crystal ball."
Hearing this, the woman turned around.
"Is that true?"
Her daughter nodded.
"There's no mistaking it! I think she might be the new Supreme Witch!"
The woman's expression darkened.
"In that case, Cordelia, you should go yourself. You must bring that girl back before any other organizations discover her!"
"I will, Mother."
The daughter turned and left, leaving her mother alone to continue gazing at the scenery outside the window.
Could this be it?
Supreme Witch Aunt Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange)
Chapter 190: The Dead Soul Box
"You mean this coven is going to find Emma pretty soon?"
Because of Lilith, Roy instinctively didn't have a good feeling about this so-called coven.
"Yes, with the prophecy crystal ball, the coven can easily track down newly awakened witches. It doesn't matter where you hide Emma!"
This was turning out to be quite a pain, and Roy frowned deeply.
"Screw the coven, or any other organization for that matter. As long as I don't agree, no one's taking Emma away!"
Lilith shook her head.
"It's not that simple. I'm worried the coven might use the government to pressure you!"
The coven had deep ties with the American government. If they used administrative power to mess with Roy, it could indeed be a bit troublesome.
But it would only be a bit troublesome; it wasn't a huge problem.
"Humph! There's always a way! It's not like I don't have any connections either!"
With the FEA backing him, Roy had the confidence to say that.
As he said that, Roy prepared to say goodbye to Lilith.
"Hmm~ Are you leaving already? Jennifer and I both miss you!"
Lilith's eyes welled up with tears, giving off a pitiful vibe, like a little wife abandoned by her husband.
Roy glanced sideways at Lilith, a strange smile on his face.
"Is it you who misses me, or Jennifer?"
Lilith hugged Roy, her curvaceous body rubbing against him.
"Can't it be both of us?"
It was probably Lilith, that little minx, who couldn't hold back. Jennifer was rarely the one to initiate things.
"Here? Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
Roy's expression became even more peculiar. Messing around like this in Nedy's house was too impolite, especially since Nedy's room was right next door.
"Then let's go to Jennifer's place!"
Since the last Elm Street incident, Jennifer had tidied up her house a bit. She usually used it as a place for her and her girlfriends to hang out, so it wasn't as messy as before.
Lilith pushed open the window and then floated lightly with Roy towards the house across the street.
Nedy and Emma were in the next room and didn't notice what was happening outside the window.
At this moment, Nedy was applying medicine to Emma. Otherwise, Emma wouldn't be able to sit down, let alone walk, for the next few days.
Nedy pouted, feeling a little sorry for Emma's injuries.
"How could Roy hit her so hard? It's really too much."
Emma, hearing Nedy's complaint, surprisingly spoke up for Roy.
"Nedy, I really deserved it this time."
"That doesn't mean he should have hit you like that! You won't be able to walk normally for at least three days, and you can't sit down for a week. You can only lie on your stomach!"
Emma shook her head.
"This little bit of pain is nothing compared to the sins I've committed in the past. It's far from enough to atone for them."
Nedy looked at Emma in surprise. She hadn't expected Roy's two beatings to actually set Emma straight.
In the past, although Emma was always impeccable in terms of etiquette, expression, and tone, she gave people a sense of aloofness, keeping them at arm's length.
But the current Emma seemed much more real.
However, it wasn't really Roy's two beatings that had such a good effect. It was that after the Leviathan demon bloodline was sealed, Emma's thinking was no longer disturbed.
Emma's intelligence was originally very high, in the range of a gifted child. After her thinking returned to normal, she naturally had a complete awakening.
"I see. If you can understand your mistakes, then those two beatings weren't for nothing."
"Nedy, can you tell me about Roy?"
"Sure, what do you want to know?"
While Nedy was chatting with Emma, the battle between Roy and Lilith across the street was getting intense.
"Roy, to prevent the coven from discovering my existence, I'll be going into a deep sleep for a while. Oh!"
Roy frowned and gave a thrust.
"Is your daughter really that scary? Do you have to be this careful?"
"Ah! That bitch absorbed most of my power. You tell me if she's厉害 (lìhai - awesome/powerful)! Who knows if she's mastered new powers over the past few thousand years. It's best to be cautious."
This was the first time Roy had heard a mother call her own daughter a bitch. He wondered if there were any other issues between these two.
Roy didn't think Lilith's daughter was really that厉害 (lìhai). At least, she probably couldn't beat an archangel.
Otherwise, why was there no news of the Supreme Witch? She even had to cooperate with the American government.
Truly powerful organizations like the Wood House and the Ama'ar Chum were bold enough to directly cause trouble in front of the American government.
However, seeing Lilith's serious expression, Roy didn't refute her.
Lilith's daughter had probably become her inner demon.
"So?"
Lilith leaned close to Roy's ear and answered him in a suppressed voice.
"So you have to feed me first! Ouch!"
Roy smacked her backside hard.
"No problem!"
Jennifer's witch talent was very special. As long as her physical and magical energy weren't depleted, she was practically immortal. She could also turn pain into pleasure, making her a natural-born masochist.
Using this talent for that kind of fun was a waste. In reality, Lilith had taught Jennifer a lot of terrifying black magic, allowing her to fully utilize her talent.
But when fighting Roy, this talent could occasionally come in handy, just like now.
"No! Don't stop! Use the same force you used to hit Emma during the day on me! Hurry!"
For a moment, the room was filled with the sound of intense slapping.
After who knows how long, Roy suddenly felt a change in Lilith. Although her skin was still flushed, her aura had changed.
Roy stopped and tentatively asked, "Jennifer?"
"Mmm~ It's me!"
"Where's Lilith?"
"She seems to have passed out from pleasure, so I'm controlling the body now."
She could even pass out? That was too outrageous!
Then Roy saw Jennifer bite her lip, her eyes watery.
"Roy, I like this too. Keep going!"
Helpless, Roy could only continue practicing his "hand drumming."
He had to slap and control the rhythm at the same time, a double-tasking operation that required considerable skill.
The demand for a sense of rhythm was also very high. Most people would easily get flustered.
Fortunately, Roy was also quite talented in rhythm. After all, boxing also required a high degree of physical coordination.
And so, Jennifer soared to cloud nine in the rhythm of "dong ci da ci, dong ci da ci."
Looking at Jennifer with her eyes rolled back, Roy scratched his head.
What was he going to do? He had to transform to fly, but transforming would be too conspicuous.
Could he just leave Jennifer here? What would happen later when Nedy went to look for Jennifer and found her missing?
Seeing that Jennifer didn't seem like she would wake up anytime soon, Roy had no choice but to call Nedy to explain the situation and then slip away.
Emma would temporarily stay at Nedy's house for a few days. After all, the little girl was injured so badly that it was very inconvenient for her to live alone, and Roy, as a man, wasn't suitable to take care of her.
The next day was Sunday, a day off.
Ashley was in a bad mood lately and stayed in bed, not wanting to get up.
Samantha had officially started working as a police officer in Waterfall Town. Police officers naturally didn't have weekends off; it was usually a rotating schedule.
And Samantha, having just started, obviously hadn't reached the point of rotating shifts yet.
So, today Ashley had to stay home and take care of her younger brother Mike. This was a task she usually hated.
However, recently Ashley's relationship with her mother Samantha and younger brother Mike had improved. It was probably because they had gone through some terrifying events together, making her realize the preciousness of family.
Oh, and there was also a certain woman who liked watching cartoons and had a better figure than her.
"Giggle, giggle..."
Early in the morning, Ashley heard Elrohir downstairs watching cartoons, laughing while she watched. Even her younger brother Mike wasn't that childish.
Okay, Mike wasn't childish, but he really liked studying spiders. Ashley would rather he be a little more childish.
Thinking of Elrohir, Ashley couldn't help but recall the shocking scene she had accidentally witnessed that day. As soon as she closed her eyes, she could almost see that baton in front of her.
This made Ashley's cheeks flush. She suddenly covered her face and burrowed into her blanket, wriggling around, trying to forget that image.
However, sometimes, the more you try to forget something, the more vivid the impression becomes.
So Ashley could only vent her shyness and annoyance on the pillow, muttering to herself.
"Damn Roy! You two-timing jerk! I'll beat you to death..."
Just as Ashley was punching and kicking her pillow, there was a sudden knock on the door, startling her.
"Who is it?"
"It's me, Mike!"
A few minutes later, Ashley got dressed and opened the door.
"Mike, what's wrong?"
"Sis, I found something weird in the attic!"
"Something weird? Let me see."
The house the Parker family now lived in was fully furnished. The previous owner had basically left everything behind, so there were a lot of things left over.
So, Mike, bored, went to explore the attic and found a strange wooden box.
The siblings went to the attic and saw the wooden box Mike was talking about.
"This is it! I can't open it no matter what I do!"
Ashley examined the wooden box her brother was talking about.
The box was rectangular overall, with a line of text Ashley didn't recognize written on the top. It was completely sealed, with no place to open it.
"Sis, this wooden box is so weird. It feels like there's something inside, but I can't open it."
Hearing this, Ashley picked up the wooden box and shook it. Sure enough, she heard something inside.
"There is something inside. Could there be some kind of mechanism?"
Ashley kept feeling around the wooden box and accidentally pressed a mechanism, and the wooden box instantly sprang open.
Both siblings were startled.
But there didn't seem to be anything special inside the wooden box, just some strange metal objects, a moth that had long since dried up, a wooden horse toy, a human tooth, and an old ring.
"I thought there'd be some kind of treasure, but is this all?"
Mike was clearly a little disappointed. As a child, he probably thought he had discovered some treasured valuables.
Ashley picked up the old ring and examined it carefully in her hand. She inexplicably felt that this ring was very beautiful.
Carelessly, Ashley's other hand pressed against a splinter in the wooden box, and blood immediately flowed out.
"Ouch!"
"Sis, are you okay?"
Mike saw his sister get hurt and showed his concern.
"Go get the first-aid kit!"
"I'll go right away!"
Ashley covered her finger, completely unaware that some blood had spilled onto the ring and seeped into it without leaving any trace.
After a while, Mike brought the first-aid kit and helped his sister bandage her wound.
"This wooden box isn't anything special to look at. Let's put it away."
Although she said the wooden box wasn't anything special, Ashley took the wooden box back to her room.
Mike didn't understand why his sister had changed so much, shrugged, and continued exploring the attic.
Soon, it was evening.
Because Samantha was a single mother with two children to take care of, she usually didn't work overtime.
"I'm home, kids!"
Samantha greeted her family after returning home.
Elrohir was still watching cartoons in the living room, and Mike heard his mother's voice and ran downstairs.
"Mom, you're back!"
"Mike, how was your day at home? Did you finish your homework?"
"Homework was done a long time ago. It was just a little boring."
Probably because he couldn't continue to keep his spider friends company, Mike seemed a bit listless.
"Where's Ashley?"
"Sis has been locked in her room since morning. She didn't even come out for lunch."
Hearing this, Samantha frowned slightly, but didn't think too much about it.
"Maybe she's just not in a good mood?"
At least she hadn't sneaked out to hang out with bad boy ghosts. Samantha could still accept Ashley's current situation.
"I'm going to make dinner now. Go call Ashley down."
"Okay, Mom!"
Dinner was made very quickly. The Parker family started eating, just some simple home-cooked dishes.
During the meal, Samantha noticed that Ashley's mental state was strange. She seemed to be in a daze, eating completely mechanically.
"Ashley, what's wrong? Did something happen at school?"
As a mother, Samantha was concerned about Ashley's situation, but Ashley didn't react at all. Samantha didn't know if she hadn't heard her at all, or if her rebellious streak had resurfaced and she was pretending not to hear anything.
So Samantha patted Ashley's hand. That's when she noticed Ashley was wearing a strange ring on her hand. Samantha had never seen this ring before.
"Ashley, this ring..."
Samantha just wanted to touch the ring when Ashley slapped her hand away fiercely.
At the same time, Ashley glared at Samantha fiercely, the vicious look startling Samantha.
Even during Ashley's most rebellious phase, she had never looked at her with such eyes. This made Samantha both angry and heartbroken.
"Ashley Parker! What kind of look is that?!"
Without hesitation, Ashley picked up her fork and stabbed it towards Samantha's hand. Fortunately, Samantha reacted quickly, otherwise she would have been injured.
But seeing the fork deeply embedded in the table made it even more unacceptable for Samantha.
"Ashley!"
But Ashley ignored Samantha and ran upstairs.
