"Whoa there, little Roy! Aren't you supposed to be comforting your little girlfriend? What brings you here to me?"
After wrapping things up in the oak forest, Roy knocked on Elizabeth's office door. The beautiful teacher had her legs, clad in black stockings, propped up on her desk in a rather unladylike but totally relaxed way. She looked pretty chill.
Feeling Elizabeth's teasing gaze, Roy couldn't help but feel a little helpless.
"Ms. Elizabeth, I actually wanted to ask you something."
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow, her expression turning quite odd.
"You're not thinking of asking me how to smooth things over with your little girlfriend, are you? Hmm… my suggestion would be to just get them all in bed and, you know, use your… weapon on them real good. After sharing the bond of fighting together, I bet they'd understand each other."
Elizabeth's words almost made Roy do a spit-take, but he had to admit, she kind of had a point.
Maybe he should try that sometime?
"Cough, cough, cough! Ms. Elizabeth, that's not actually what I wanted to ask."
"Oh? Well, what is it you want to know?"
"I was wondering, can a succubus eat normal human food?"
Elizabeth gave him a quirky smile.
"You mean that guy's daughter, right? So, it looks like you've been personally feeding her this whole time?"
Roy nodded awkwardly.
Elizabeth shifted her legs, not at all bothered by flashing a little thigh—or maybe she was totally trying to tempt Roy.
"As far as I know, succubi can only replenish their energy by eating that stuff, or by directly sucking the life force out of the opposite sex. If you want to keep her around, that's pretty much your only option. Or, you could just hand that succubus over to me. I could help you train her properly."
Elizabeth licked her lips, suggesting again that Roy give her Elrêsha.
Roy was now sure that Elizabeth had some kind of ulterior motive when it came to Elrêsha, probably wanting to use her to get back at the King of Lust.
Even if he were to set Elrêsha free, there was no way he was handing her over to Elizabeth.
"Uh, the absolutely stunning Ms. Elizabeth, I'm sure that brilliant brain of yours has some other solutions, right?"
Roy didn't believe there wasn't a way. After all, succubi were a fairly common type of demon, and wizards summoned them all the time.
Surely those wizards weren't just making baby formula smoothies to feed them, were they?
And with the shape those old wizards were in, could they even handle it?
Roy's smooth talk made Elizabeth's expression brighten considerably.
As the King of Sloth, Elizabeth had heard countless compliments back in Hell, but when it came to flattery, it still depended on who was doing the flattering.
Roy's compliments definitely hit the spot with Elizabeth.
"Alright, seeing as you were pretty well-behaved the other day, tell me another funny joke, and I'll tell you."
Elizabeth seemed to really enjoy jokes. Last Halloween, it was because Roy told a Hell-themed joke that she started to look at him in a new light.
So, Roy thought for a moment and told another joke with a Hellish twist.
"During an exorcism, the priest yelled at the little boy, 'Demon! Get out of this boy's body right now!'
The demon replied, 'You damn fool, you get out of this kid's body first, then I can leave!'"
After the joke, Elizabeth's face took on a strange expression, like she was trying to figure out what it meant. A moment later, she started slapping the desk and laughing like crazy.
"Hahaha… Oh, that's good! That's really good! I love jokes like that!"
Roy hadn't expected his Hell-themed joke to have such a strong effect, actually keeping Elizabeth laughing for almost ten minutes straight.
Did it really work that well?
Maybe next time they fought, he could just tell a joke to weaken Elizabeth?
"Little Roy, what are you grinning about?"
Because he'd thought of a way to deal with Elizabeth, a mischievous smile unconsciously crept onto Roy's face. Just as Elizabeth finished laughing, she saw his expression.
"Oh, it's nothing. I just happened to remember something funny."
Elizabeth felt like there was some invisible force trying to make him say, "What funny thing?", but she held back.
"Little Roy, your joke really tickled my funny bone. I can give you a recipe for food that will make a succubus happy. But I still suggest you feed her yourself regularly. That's the only way to maintain your current relationship."
Elizabeth picked up a pen and paper and quickly scribbled down a recipe, handing it to Roy.
"Thank you, Ms. Elizabeth."
Roy took the note and was about to leave when Elizabeth suddenly called out to him.
"Just gonna leave like that, little Roy?"
Elizabeth looked at Roy, her eyes seeming to hint at something.
Helpless, Roy had no choice but to go back and give Elizabeth a deep, lingering French kiss. Only then was the beautiful teacher satisfied.
After school, Roy tried using the recipe Elizabeth gave him to make food for the succubus.
The succubus's diet was pretty straightforward. The highest-ranking succubi feed on emotions; they can absorb people's pleasant feelings.
Don't think that just giving up some happy feelings is safe. If a person's positive emotions are constantly being drained by a succubus, they'll become depressed, mentally messed up, or even go crazy, eventually becoming a living zombie.
That's just the physical cost being lower; the mental cost is definitely not insignificant.
Mid-ranking succubi, like Elrêsha was before, suck the life force out of the opposite sex. This way of feeding can directly drain all the vitality from a person's body.
And lower-ranking succubi eat something similar to baby formula smoothies. This is usually the diet of newborn succubi.
In a way, Elrêsha was also a newly born demon in terms of her soul, so she instinctively craved baby formula smoothies.
And the recipe Elizabeth provided was for something that could replace baby formula smoothies in terms of taste and nutrition.
"Goat's blood, goat's milk, salmon roe… why are they all such fishy-smelling things? Is it to mimic the smell of that stuff? And the most important ingredient, emotions filled with love? What the heck is that?"
Roy was completely baffled. That last ingredient was just too abstract for him to wrap his head around.
Okay, in witchcraft, using emotions to cast spells wasn't that weird, but using emotions as food was pretty rare.
This reminded Roy of some kids' cartoons where they'd say cheesy things to infuse feelings while they were making something.
Was he going to have to do that too? That sounded kind of gross!
There was no mention of this kind of thing in the Key of Solomon. This was clearly a method that had been invented later. Roy had no choice but to call Elizabeth and ask.
"The easiest way is to inject a memory into the food. Memories usually carry some emotions with them. But if you do that, you'll permanently lose those memories. Directly separating emotions is a bit more complicated, but you could give it a shot."
Elizabeth taught Roy a spell to separate memories and emotions.
Roy tried it out. To separate emotions, he first had to put himself in the emotional state he wanted.
The recipe called for emotions filled with love, so Roy called Niddy and flirted with her for a while, quickly getting into the mood.
Then, he recited the spell Elizabeth taught him, and surprisingly, he managed to separate a small amount of love in one go.
This was probably because Roy controlled two emotional domains, the Domain of Fear and the Domain of Desire, so he was naturally pretty good at this kind of thing.
However, after extracting that part of the loving emotion, Roy felt a sense of loss, like something was missing inside him.
Yeah, emotions weren't something to mess with lightly. Humans were emotional creatures, and once their emotions went haywire, they'd lose control.
Finally, after gathering all the ingredients for the recipe, Roy followed Elizabeth's instructions and brewed a bottle of pink, goopy liquid.
This pink, goopy liquid was called Succubus Potion, but Roy preferred to call it Pink Mood.
It was pretty amazing. So many stinky things mixed together, but the final liquid actually smelled good. Was it the same principle as perfume?
In perfume making, they extract skatole, which is found in the feces of certain birds, to add some specific fragrance notes.
"The color and smell seem to match the description in the recipe. I guess it's a success?"
Roy didn't dare to drink it himself. After all, a succubus's physiology was quite different from a human's, even though they looked very similar on the outside.
Who knew what would happen if he drank this succubus-specific Pink Mood? Even though Roy's constitution was a whopping 57 points and his poison resistance was super high, he didn't want to risk it.
"I should still take it to Elrêsha and see if she likes it!"
Roy divided the Pink Mood into smaller containers.
According to Elizabeth's recipe description, this food was packed with energy. 100 milliliters could satisfy an adult succubus's needs for a long time, so Roy used small glass bottles to portion it out, making it easy for Elrêsha to eat.
Arriving at Samantha's house, the new place was pretty much all set up and looked quite homey.
After saying hi to the Parker family, Roy found Elrêsha watching cartoons.
The newest and most up-to-date novels are first published here!
Who would have thought that this creature, giggling non-stop at Tom and Jerry, was actually a succubus?
Elrêsha didn't even notice Roy come in until he called her name.
"Elrêsha!"
The little succubus turned around, looked at Roy with surprise and joy, and then practically pounced on him, wrapping her arms around him.
"Daddy, I missed you so much!"
Huh, Elrêsha even had new words. Did Samantha teach her that?
"Elrêsha, I missed you too. I brought you something yummy."
Roy took a small bottle of Pink Mood out of his inventory and handed it to Elrêsha.
The little succubus was a little hesitant at first, since she thought the only yummy thing was baby formula smoothie.
But when Roy opened the bottle of Pink Mood, Elrêsha's expression immediately changed when she smelled the aroma.
"Daddy, it smells so good!"
Roy's forehead was covered in sweat drops. That sounded like she was saying he smelled good.
"Give it a try!"
Elrêsha eagerly took the Pink Mood, downed it in one gulp, and then let out a long, satisfied burp.
"Burp—Daddy, so yummy!"
Roy noticed that Elrêsha's belly had puffed out, looking like she'd eaten way too much.
This had never happened before when Roy fed Elrêsha baby formula smoothies.
Roy guessed that this might be because it was Elrêsha's first time eating emotions, so she was particularly satisfied. It probably wouldn't be like this next time.
"Elrêsha, how about I give you this to eat from now on?"
Hearing this, Elrêsha's eyes suddenly became pitiful, looking very much like an abandoned puppy.
"Daddy, you don't want me anymore?"
Being stared at with those eyes, Roy felt cold sweat dripping down his back.
"Why would you think that?"
"I think Daddy just doesn't want to give me baby formula smoothies anymore!"
Whoa, her senses were really sharp!
Roy had indeed asked Elizabeth to come up with this Pink Mood because he couldn't go to Samantha's house every day to feed Elrêsha.
But now it seemed that although Elrêsha also really liked the smell of Pink Mood, she seemed to care more about the feeling of being able to personally drain baby formula smoothie.
Roy remembered Elizabeth's reminder that he had to feed Elrêsha himself regularly to maintain their current relationship, so he made a promise to Elrêsha.
He would feed Elrêsha fresh baby formula smoothie once a week.
Elrêsha was a little unhappy about this, but she still obediently agreed.
"Daddy, you can't not want me, okay!"
Roy could feel Elrêsha's attachment. He didn't know why a succubus would be so attached to him, but this feeling was actually pretty nice.
After calming Elrêsha down, Roy found Samantha.
Samantha seemed to be in a pretty good mood. Her new life seemed to be getting on track.
"Samantha, how do you like living in the new house?"
"It's not bad! Other than feeling a little chilly, there aren't any other problems."
A little chilly?
Roy raised an eyebrow, feeling like something might be up.
But seeing that Samantha seemed to be in a good mood, Roy didn't want to ruin it by bringing it up right now.
So, Roy started asking about Ashley.
"Ashley's been locking herself in her room as soon as she gets home these past couple of days. Did something happen?"
Hearing Roy mention Ashley, Samantha looked at him suspiciously.
Her intuition was really on point. Roy's expression was a bit awkward.
"Maybe Ashley's just a little down about school. After all, she just transferred. But I'll help her adjust to the new school environment!"
Samantha didn't seem to notice Roy's awkwardness and nodded with a sigh.
"I hope so. I'm starting work at the police station in a few days, so I might not have time to keep an eye on Ashley's situation then."
"The police station already approved your application?"
"Yeah, I was a police chief before, after all."
So, Elrêsha was going to have to stay home alone?
"Samantha, when do you officially start working?"
"Next Monday."
Roy scratched his head. Letting Elrêsha stay alone at Samantha's house felt a little unsafe.
But Heather and Penny didn't seem like they'd be back anytime soon, and Roy didn't have anyone else in Waterfall Town he could trust to take care of Elrêsha.
Ugh, he was really stretched thin!
Did he really have to hand Elrêsha over to Elizabeth?

Chapter 186: The Unexpected Female Doctor
The weekend arrived quickly, and it was time for Emma's scheduled therapy appointment with the psychologist that Roy's parents had booked.
Roy woke up very early. Austin was several hours' drive from Waterfall Town, so he needed to leave as soon as possible.
However, Emma wasn't in a good mood at all. She seemed to be resisting the idea of seeing a therapist with her whole being.
First thing in the morning, the little girl's face was particularly gloomy, practically screaming, "I'm not happy."
It was at times like these that Roy could feel that Emma was still just a child, not some little adult.
"Roy, my tummy doesn't feel so good!"
"Perfect, we can have the therapist take a look at your tummy while we're there."
"Roy, I think I forgot to bring something!"
"It's okay, we can buy you something new when we get to Austin."
...
Emma glared at Roy, completely unable to keep up her act anymore.
Roy glanced at Emma's expression in the rearview mirror and shook his head with a smile.
If this little girl could be this normal more often, Roy wouldn't even need to take her to a therapist.
Several hours later, Roy arrived at a clinic in downtown Austin. He checked the time; it was just ten o'clock.
He led Emma, whose expression was normal but whose eyes were full of resistance, into the clinic.
There was a young woman at the front desk. Her eyes lit up immediately when she saw Roy.
"Hi, I have an appointment with Claire Sheffield for ten o'clock. I'm bringing my little sister for a consultation."
However, the receptionist was completely smitten and only focused on Roy's face, not hearing a word he said.
Left with no choice, Roy had to tap on the front desk. Only then did she snap out of it.
"Oh! Are you here for an appointment? Let me check the schedule!"
The young woman quickly grabbed a stack of forms and frantically flipped through them.
"Hmm—ten o'clock this morning, the appointment is under the name Philip Black. Is that you?"
"Philip Black is my father. He couldn't make it today, so he asked me to bring my little sister."
"Then I'll need to contact Mr. Philip Black to confirm. Please wait a moment."
Roy stood at the front desk, waiting with nothing to do. Emma sat on a chair with her head down, probably thinking about how to deal with the therapist later.
But therapists weren't that easy to deal with; it was their job.
Even if Emma's natural intelligence was higher than that of an average child, she couldn't possibly know everything.
"Okay, okay! Sir, I've confirmed it here. Please come with me!"
The young receptionist enthusiastically led Roy and Emma to the door of psychologist Claire Sheffield's office and knocked.
"Dr. Sheffield, your ten o'clock appointment is here."
"Okay, come in!"
The door opened to reveal a spacious office with a sofa and a recliner. It looked like both an office and a therapy room.
A woman was sitting at the desk, looking at a notebook. When she looked up at Roy, they both froze for a moment.
The woman was surprised because she hadn't expected the appointment to be with a young, handsome guy. However, she quickly composed herself and didn't act as starstruck as the receptionist.
As for Roy, he was stunned because the woman was actually Anne Hathaway!
Wow! Had Anne Hathaway ever played a therapist?
Roy couldn't recall it for a moment. It was probably some less famous movie, one that even Anne Hathaway couldn't save at the box office.
"Hello, are you Dr. Claire Sheffield? You're not quite what I pictured."
Roy took the initiative to greet her, his eyes constantly scanning Claire.
Feeling Roy's unusual gaze, Claire assumed he was surprised by her youth.
"Do you think I'm too young? Actually, I have a doctorate in psychology. You can rest assured about my professional qualifications."
Such a young psychology doctorate?
That was indeed impressive!
Roy pulled Emma to sit in the chair in front of the desk.
"My name is Roy Black. I'm here in place of my father, bringing my cousin. You should have some information about her case, right?"
Claire nodded. While talking to Roy, she was also observing Emma.
"Yes, I spoke with Mr. Black on the phone and have a general understanding of little Emma's situation. However, in psychology, we need a close-up evaluation."
"So when do we start?"
"We can start now! Mr. Black, could you please step outside? I'd like to spend some time alone with little Emma."
"No problem."
Roy got up to leave, but Emma grabbed his hand.
Emma looked at Roy with pleading eyes, but Roy just smiled.
"Be a good girl and answer the doctor's questions, it'll be good for you, okay?"
With that, Roy walked out of the office, leaving Claire and Emma alone.
After Roy left, Emma immediately reverted to her impeccably perfect demeanor, giving off an aura that kept people at arm's length.
As a doctor of psychology, Claire could tell that Emma was very resistant to this psychological assessment, which was not a good sign for the therapist.
However, as an expert in child psychology, Claire had encountered many difficult children and had plenty of experience.
Giving Emma a warm smile, Claire picked up a piece of candy and offered it to her.
"Emma, would you like a piece of candy?"
This trick, which usually worked wonders on other children, hit a wall with Emma.
Emma didn't hesitate and politely declined Claire with a slight smile.
"I'm sorry, Dr. Sheffield, I'm losing my baby teeth right now, so I can't eat candy."
The smile on Claire's face didn't change at all. That gesture was both to ease Emma's resistance and a test.
Through this test, Claire knew that Emma was going to be a tough case and that earning her fee today might not be easy.
"Let's chat somewhere else then! Come on, let's go over to the sofa."
A comfortable environment can help people relax and let down their guard, which is why therapy sessions are often held in settings similar to a home.
But even sitting on the sofa, Emma's body remained tense, which Claire found very strange.
If an adult had this kind of reaction, it would be somewhat understandable, as adults tend to be more guarded. But Emma was clearly only eight years old, yet she was so defensive...
A flicker of thought crossed Claire's eyes.
Roy waited outside the office for an hour. During this time, he had the young woman at the front desk practically swooning.
Roy had no doubt that if he asked this girl to go to the restroom for a quickie, she wouldn't refuse for a second, even if it meant losing her job.
When Claire came out, she saw her employee giggling uncontrollably, which made her impression of Roy less favorable.
"Mr. Black, could we have a word in private? It's about little Emma."
"Of course."
Claire led Roy back to the office, and this time it was Emma's turn to wait outside.
"Mr. Black, little Emma's situation is a bit serious."
Judging from Claire's serious expression, things were indeed serious. The smile on Roy's face also disappeared.
"How serious exactly?"
"After an hour of testing, I've found that little Emma exhibits signs of histrionic personality disorder."
Claire then explained what histrionic personality disorder is.
Histrionic personality disorder refers to a personality characterized by excessively dramatic emotions, theatrical behavior, self-centeredness, and a constant need for attention.
This type of personality is actually not uncommon in modern society, especially on some short video platforms where it's everywhere.
However, Roy didn't feel that Emma had such exaggerated emotional changes.
Roy voiced his doubts, and Claire answered him.
"Exaggerated emotions are just the outward manifestation of histrionic personality. In reality, the core factor of this personality is the extreme desire for external attention. So, acting crazy is histrionic personality, and acting like a good, well-behaved child is also histrionic personality."
So that's how it is!
"So, is there a big problem with this histrionic personality?"
"Histrionic personality itself isn't a huge problem. At most, it will put more psychological pressure on Emma. But I've also found that Emma exhibits signs of antisocial personality disorder."
The prominent feature of people with this personality is a tendency for behavior that deviates from social norms. They show no remorse after harming society and others, cannot learn from setbacks and punishments, and instead, intensify their retaliation against society.
Simply put, it's a lack of empathy. They don't sympathize with others, let alone empathize with them.
This type of personality is quite dangerous. Basically, people with antisocial personality disorder eventually become criminals, and those who have both histrionic and antisocial personality disorder are even more dangerous.
Roy looked at Claire; this assessment was quite serious.
"Dr. Sheffield, are you sure?"
"I also hope my judgment is wrong, or you can find other psychologists to conduct a psychological evaluation of Emma."
Roy scratched his head. He still trusted Claire's judgment.
"Can Emma's personality still be corrected?"
"Mr. Black, you're very lucky that Emma's condition was discovered relatively early. An eight-year-old's worldview is far from being fully formed, so there's a possibility of correction. If she were an adult, it would be much more difficult to change."
"Okay, what's the cost of the therapy sessions?"
Claire took out a piece of paper and started writing.
"Based on my experience, Emma's situation requires at least 12 sessions to have an effect, once a week, which is three months. But three months may not be enough to completely change Emma. Personality correction is a long process, especially since Emma shows great resistance to psychologists. Mr. Black, you need to be mentally prepared."
Roy nodded.
"I'll discuss it with my parents. Dr. Sheffield, could I get your contact information? It would be convenient for me to consult you if I have any questions in the future."
"Of course!"
Claire took out a business card from her drawer and handed it to Roy.
"By the way, Mr. Black, why do I feel like you look very familiar? Have we met before?"
Claire winked at Roy.
Roy was certain that he hadn't met Claire before, so there was only one possibility for why she found him familiar.
"Actually, I'm a high school boxer. If you think I look familiar, you probably saw me on TV or in the newspaper."
Claire looked very surprised.
"I remember now! I did see you on a rerun of a boxing match!"
Roy hadn't expected the impact of the Cowboy Cup finals video from three months ago to be so significant.
Or was it that Dr. Claire, this seemingly quiet and refined psychologist, actually liked watching boxing?
"Do you like watching boxing matches?"
Claire was a little embarrassed.
"When I'm under a lot of pressure, I do watch some fighting programs to relax."
Roy looked at Claire, guessing that she probably watched fighting matches not just when she was under a lot of pressure, but that she was likely a fighting fan.
After all, unless someone was a fighting fan, they would rarely watch a high school-level amateur boxing match.
This was quite a contrast!
"Would you like me to sign something for you?"
Claire actually showed a delighted and excited expression, completely lacking the intellectual and mature demeanor she had just displayed, looking more like a starstruck fan.
"Could you?"
"Of course!"
Claire immediately took out a notebook from her drawer and handed it to Roy. Opening it, he could see many signatures inside.
Mike Tyson, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Roy Jones Jr.—it was all boxing and WWE wrestlers. She was indeed a fighting fan.
Roy quickly wrote a line.
Presented to Claire Sheffield by Roy Black, future world boxing champion.
Claire happily took back the notebook.
"Mr. Black, I've seen your matches. I'm sure you'll become a world boxing champion!"
"I hope so too."
After the little interlude, Roy said goodbye to Claire and left with Emma.
"Roy, are we going home now?"
"Not really. I have other things to do in Austin today. Let's grab some lunch first, and then we'll take care of business."
Roy found a taco place downtown. Tacos, or Mexican wraps, were different from the pre-made fast-food wraps at places like KFC, which didn't taste very good.
Authentic Mexican tacos were like jianbing guozi (Chinese crepes), where you could add your own fillings according to your preferences, making them very substantial.
And the sauces inside were very unique and tasted quite good. Roy devoured ten tacos by himself, which stunned Emma.
After eating the tacos, Emma's mood finally improved a bit.
Next, Roy drove Emma to the dock area of Austin.
Downtown Austin was bisected by the Colorado River, which provided the city with abundant water resources and facilitated shipping.
Near the Colorado River freight docks, there were many warehouse rental companies. Wade's warehouse gambling operation was located here.
"Boss, you finally made it! Why did you bring this little girl?"
Wade had arrived in the morning and had been waiting for Roy until now.
Roy got out of the car and bumped fists with Wade.
"I brought her to Austin for something. I figured I'd check in on you while I was here. Emma, do you want to come with us? If you don't want to, you can stay in the car and wait for me."
Staying in the car alone would be too boring, so Emma naturally chose to get out of the car with Roy.
"Wade, lead the way."
Claire Sheffield (Anne Hathaway, from the movie Passengers)
Chapter 187: Warehouse #36
"Boss, come with me!"
Wade led Roy and Emma to a three-story factory building near the docks. This was one of those storage unit rental companies, and the building was full of rows of private storage units.
These private storage units were about the same size as a personal garage, maybe even a little smaller.
The warehouse manager at the entrance saw Wade and called out.
"Hey, Wade, you gotta clean out that unit you bought, or I'm gonna be in trouble!"
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it today!"
Generally, a purchased storage unit had to be cleared out on the same day. After all, one of the reasons storage unit rental companies auctioned off units was to empty them out and rent them again.
But Wade seemed to be on good terms with the warehouse manager and easily talked his way out of it with some jokes and laughter.
After entering the warehouse, Wade explained the situation to Roy.
"Last weekend, a friend introduced me to this place to bid on storage units. I spent 400 bucks and got this Unit 36."
As he spoke, Wade led Roy to a storage unit and opened the roll-up door.
Roy saw that the unit was full of furniture and other junk, which surprised him.
"This is worth 400 bucks?"
All this furniture wouldn't even fetch that price if it was sold for scrap, would it?
"This was only possible because I greased the palms of the warehouse manager to get inside info! The original owner of this unit rented it for 40 years. Every day, they'd bring in a big bag of stuff and leave empty-handed an hour later. I checked the security footage to confirm."
Well, you had to hand it to Wade; he even knew to bribe the warehouse manager for inside information.
"So, why did you bring me here?"
Roy looked around the storage unit, feeling like there wasn't anything particularly special about it.
"Boss, take a look at this, and you'll see!"
Wade rummaged through a corner and pulled out a thick, round table with a pentagram drawn on it. Then, after pressing one of the corners, a hidden compartment popped open, revealing three black leather-bound books inside.
As mentioned before, the pentagram had special significance in Western occultism, so it rarely appeared on furniture or clothing decorations.
"This is a spirit board. And hidden in the secret compartment of the spirit board were these three books about the occult. I didn't dare touch them, so I just left them in this unit."
After all, he had been through two dangerous incidents. Although his memory of one of them had been altered by Elizabeth, Wade was still very cautious. This kind of behavior might just save his life.
Roy casually picked up the three black leather-bound books and flipped through them. He found that they were bestiaries of otherworldly creatures, containing various bizarre beings from other worlds.
Some of the content even made Roy frown.
There was also some information about Hell's demons in the books, and Roy was surprised to find that this information basically matched the knowledge in the Key of Solomon.
In other words, these three books weren't just randomly made up. They were probably a genuine bestiary of otherworldly creatures recorded by some ancient wizard.
"Wade, I've got some good news and some bad news for you. Wanna hear them?"
"Boss, of course I want to hear them! Tell me the good news first!"
"The good news is that these three books are antiques. They might be worth a lot of money to some occult enthusiasts."
Hearing this, Wade's eyes lit up, but he immediately remembered that Roy still had bad news to share.
"What's the bad news?"
"The bad news is that the occult knowledge recorded in these three books is real. That means the original owner of this unit was probably a wizard, and he might have left something behind in this unit."
Wade opened his mouth, looking somewhat incredulous.
"Is witchcraft really a thing in this world?"
Roy glanced at Emma, who hadn't said a word yet. She also looked curious.
"Witchcraft is definitely real. I know some myself."
As he spoke, Roy took out the Cursed Twin Daggers and suddenly threw them.
The daggers embedded themselves in the concrete wall, but the next second, they suddenly returned to Roy's hand.
This scene made Wade and Emma's jaws drop.
Wade rubbed his eyes and then slapped himself to make sure that what he just saw wasn't an illusion or a dream.
"How is that possible?"
The more rational Emma also moved closer to Roy.
"Big Brother Roy, can I try?"
"These two daggers can only return to my hand. The most you can do is throw them."
Emma still wanted to try, so she took the Cursed Twin Daggers from Roy and held them in her hands.
The cold feel of the daggers in her grip confirmed to Emma that this wasn't an illusion, but the next second, the daggers appeared in Roy's hand once again.
This time, Emma was completely convinced. A strange light flickered in her eyes, making it hard to guess what she was thinking.
"Whoa, boss, that's totally awesome! Witchcraft really is real in this world! I always believed it!"
Wade, the goofy guy, didn't seem scared at all. Instead, he looked incredibly excited.
Well, there were still quite a few superstitious people in America, especially in a conservative state like Texas with a strong religious atmosphere.
Many people believed in God and the Devil, vampires and werewolves, so naturally, they also believed in the existence of witchcraft.
At this moment, Roy was still flipping through the three black leather-bound books. He noticed that these three books weren't finished. The words seemed to indicate that a fourth book existed.
"Wade, did you see a fourth black leather-bound book in the unit?"
"Huh? No. I just casually looked around this unit that day. After finding this round table and the three black leather-bound books in its secret compartment, I didn't dare touch anything else in this unit. Could there really be a fourth black leather-bound book?"
Roy nodded.
"There should be! Wade, I want to buy these four books. Help me look for the fourth one!"
"No problem!"
As soon as he heard that Roy was going to buy the black leather-bound books, Wade immediately started happily searching through the unit.
The curious Emma also started helping, and the three of them worked together to clean up the cluttered unit, but they couldn't find the fourth black leather-bound book.
"Weird? Could it be that the fourth book wasn't in the original owner's possession?"
Roy frowned as he looked at the three black leather-bound books. That possibility couldn't be ruled out.
At this moment, Emma came up with a possibility.
"Could there be other hidden compartments in the unit? After all, these three black leather-bound books were hidden in the round table's secret compartment."
Emma's guess reminded Roy. He started tapping on various items that could potentially hide things, listening for sounds to find any hidden compartments.
Suddenly, Wade tripped over something on the floor and bumped into the wall behind him.
"Ouch!"
"You okay, Wade?"
"I'm fine, but the sound this wall made sounded a little off!"
The wall sounded off?
Roy immediately walked over to the wall and tapped it with his hand. The hollow sound indicated that there was indeed space behind the wall.
Then, Roy started looking for cracks or seams on the wall and actually found a rectangular, not-very-obvious mark.
It was a secret door, alright!
He pushed the wall, but it didn't budge. This secret door was probably opened with some kind of remote control.
Roy turned back to Wade.
"Wade, what's your relationship like with that warehouse manager?"
Wade was a bit confused as to why Roy would ask such a question.
"Not very close. A friend introduced me to him, and we only worked together last weekend."
Roy knew that Wade had a lot of fair-weather friends, most of whom he'd met through partying and hanging out, so he didn't need to pay too much attention to it.
"That's good."
After saying that, Roy punched the secret door, actually knocking down that section of the wall.
Wade stared at Roy in disbelief. He finally understood why Roy had asked that question earlier.
Emma was equally shocked, her usually perfect composure completely breaking down.
Emma, who was much more mature than her peers, had never believed in supernatural stories. That kind of stuff was just too childish for her.
The newest and most complete novels are first published here!
But today, the things that had happened around Roy had shattered Emma's worldview over and over again. Her understanding of the world was subtly starting to change.
"Done!"
Roy stepped over the fallen wall and went inside. Behind the secret door was indeed a mechanism for an electronic door, which could only be opened with a switch.
However, behind the secret door was a dark, winding corridor, which surprised Roy.
He didn't know if this winding corridor had existed before and was discovered by the original owner of the warehouse,
or if the original owner had dug it out after renting the warehouse.
"Boss, the space inside seems pretty big!"
"Yeah, I'm going to go take a look. Do you guys want to come in?"
"Of course! I'm really curious why the original owner of the warehouse would build such a secret room!"
Emma also nodded, her little face filled with curiosity.
"Then follow behind me. No matter what happens, don't scream or make a fuss. Listen to my instructions!"
Roy's gaze landed on Emma. After all, he had worked with Wade before, and that kid was pretty quick-witted. His main concern was Emma.
The little girl nodded eagerly, looking very乖巧.
So, Roy took a flashlight out of his inventory and led the way into the secret passage.
The passage was very narrow, basically only able to accommodate one adult at a time.
A broad-shouldered guy like Roy even had to turn sideways to avoid getting stuck.
At the same time, Roy also noticed that there were many pages from the Bible pasted on the walls of the passage. This indicated that whatever was hidden inside was likely an enemy of God.
What could it be? It was hard to guess!
After walking for about a minute, Roy finally emerged from the cramped, winding passage into a small room.
At the far end of the room was a reading stand, and on the reading stand was an open book. Roy couldn't make out the words on the pages, but there was a symbol on it that looked very familiar.
(The symbol on the book was roughly a circle with the symbol in the image inside it)
This was the symbol of Leviathan, the King of Envy!
Leviathan was described as a giant sea monster in many stories. Some science fiction movies or games even named giant monsters Leviathan.
And in the stories of the Bible, Leviathan was the first giant serpent born in this world, dwelling in Hell.
This guy was an even older Hellish overlord than Belial. The other six demon kings of the Seven Deadly Sins could only be considered his descendants.
"Boss, there seems to be something on the floor!"
Roy's attention was focused on the open book, and he hadn't noticed anything on the floor of the room.
It wasn't until Wade reminded him that Roy shone the flashlight on the ground.
He saw that in the center of the room's floor, a circle was drawn with some kind of mysterious red powder. In the center of the circle was still Leviathan's symbol, and lying on top of Leviathan's symbol was a person.
This person had been dead for who knew how long. He could only vaguely make out that it was a woman.
The reason he said this was because the corpse's face had completely disappeared, replaced by a black hole that seemed to have something wriggling inside.
This scene scared Wade and Emma.
Especially Emma. Although this little girl was precocious and had very high intelligence, she was still a child after all.
Seeing such a terrifying scene that even nightmares couldn't conjure up immediately made her freeze completely.
"Shh! Don't move around. I'm going to grab that book!"
The wriggling thing inside the corpse was probably a demon under Leviathan that the original owner of the warehouse had summoned.
Leviathan's true form was a giant serpent, so all the demons under him were all kinds of bizarre shapes.
This demon wasn't causing any trouble right now, probably because the magic circle drawn by the original owner of the warehouse with the red powder was controlling it.
Roy planned to get the book first and then deal with the demon, to avoid damaging the precious book in a fight.
However, this room was really too small. Roy had to walk close to the wall to avoid breaking the magic circle.
After getting the book, Roy just breathed a sigh of relief when suddenly a strange gust of wind blew in from nowhere, actually scattering some of the red powder on the ground.
Instantly, the corpse of the woman on the ground began to twitch.
"B-Boss, the body's moving!"
Roy looked down and indeed saw a large number of tentacles emerging from the woman's empty face.

In the blink of an eye, the corpse stood up again under the control of the tentacles.
Roy thought to himself that this wasn't good.
"You guys get out of here, quick!"
"Boss, what about you?"
Wade was still pretty loyal and actually worried about what would happen to Roy.
"I'll be fine. You guys get going!"
Roy had even been a Demon Lord before, so naturally, he wouldn't be afraid of a tentacle demon, even though this guy was the ugliest demon he had ever seen.
After this tentacle demon stood up, it didn't pay any attention to Roy, who was closest to it. Instead, it went straight towards Emma and Wade.
At this moment, Emma seemed to be completely terrified, standing still with wide eyes and an open mouth.
Fortunately, Wade didn't abandon Emma. He picked up the dazed little girl and ran outside, while the tentacle demon really didn't even look at Roy and followed behind them.
Oh, this guy really didn't seem to have any eyes.
"Ignoring me?"
Roy took out his chainsaw sword. He didn't choose to transform because the room was really too small. If he transformed, he'd probably have to fight with his back bent over.
But even without transforming, with his current physical attributes and the chainsaw sword, Roy could take down most demons.
"Die, you bastard!"
He pressed the button on the chainsaw sword, and the serrated chain began to spin wildly, creating a shower of sparks from the friction between the chain and the air.
With a strength attribute of 49 points, coupled with the chainsaw sword's powerful cutting ability, the tentacle demon was easily sawed in half.
However, the tentacle demon's body, which had been sawed in half, grew more tentacles, reconnecting the two halves.
Looks like physical attacks won't work. This is a pain!
