"Hahaha, you're kidding, young man. What honor? I'm just a crusty old man who coats ships, aren't I?"
"Well, that's true too!"
Yoru smiled playfully. "Then I'll trouble Rayleigh-san. My ship is in area 51!"
"Alright, I'll be going now!"
After paying for the 'sky-high priced' cocktail, Yoru pushed open the door and left.
"Interesting. He really just came for the coating and didn't ask about anything else at all. I was truly worried for nothing. He's a kid who's a little hard to figure out!"
Watching Yoru's departing figure, Rayleigh said this.
When he heard Yoru call out his name, he thought Yoru had something to ask him.
As it turned out, Yoru really just came for the coating.
...
The Sabaody Archipelago is definitely a very prosperous place.
Yoru had a great time on the island.
Of course, he gambled a little and won some money too!
"Too bad I missed the big event of the Eleven Supernovas arriving!"
The coating took two days. Once it was complete, Yoru descended into the water without hesitation.
The dark ocean was despair-inducing, suffocating.
Even the usually unrestrained Burgess quieted down at this moment, his expression solemn.
Yoru just felt a sense of suppression coming from all directions, wanting to swallow and suppress him. This feeling was very uncomfortable.
"Is this the sea's suppressive effect on Devil Fruit users? The sea truly is a graveyard for ability users!"
Descending, it was very quiet!
The ocean also began to become brighter.
All sorts of strange marine creatures appeared before the three of them, and the surroundings were incredibly quiet, so quiet that they could hear each other's heartbeats.
"What a grand and magnificent place. The charm of the sea is no less than that of the land!"
Nozdormu admired the sea view, sincerely sighing. Yoru nodded in agreement.
...
One thousand meters!
Two thousand meters!
...
An hour later, they had reached a depth of eight thousand meters.
Danger suddenly descended like this!
"Impudent beast, how dare you!"
Nozdormu suddenly roared, a massive bolt of lightning shooting out from his body, piercing straight through the ocean.
The lightning also illuminated the surrounding environment. They saw a giant tentacle, larger than their ship, lunging towards them, aiming to crush them!
"Sizzle!!!"
The lightning released by Nozdormu quickly climbed onto the tentacle and then spread along it. The lightning glowed brightly, incredibly dazzling, and also illuminated the form of the monster attacking them.
"What a huge octopus!"
They saw a yellow octopus, as large as a mountain, in front of them. It showed signs of pain from the lightning attack, and more tentacles came rushing towards them, intending to completely crush the Thousand Sunny.
"Is that the sea monster, the Kraken?"
Seeing this octopus, Yoru drew his long sword, signaling Nozdormu to stop and letting him handle it.
"In that case, I'll have to show you a little something!"
To enter Ryugu Palace, the Kraken could be of great help. He wanted to tame the Kraken for his own use.
"Assassinate him, Hakai!"
Yoru held 'Hakai' and aimed it at the Kraken's attacking tentacle, piercing through it.
"Puff, puff, puff!"
'Hakai' flashed like lightning, and the Kraken's attacking tentacle was sliced into several pieces with a 'puff' sound.
Then, the blade of 'Hakai' suddenly grew larger and whooshed to a stop in front of the Kraken. The sharp tip of the blade made the Kraken stop its movements.
"Kraken, you should be clear about the difference in strength between us!"
"It would be easy for me to kill you, but I don't plan to be your enemy! Take me to Ryugu Palace, and then you can leave. How about it?"
In this deep sea, making an enemy of a giant marine creature is not a wise choice.
After all, Yoru is an ability user. If something unexpected happened, facing a sea overlord like the Kraken would definitely mean death.
The Kraken hesitated for a moment, then nodded, agreeing to Yoru's request.
"Very good, that's a very wise decision!"
Seeing this, Yoru withdrew 'Hakai'. "Then, let's set off!"
As he finished speaking, the Kraken used its tentacles to hold the Thousand Sunny and began to dive deeper into the sea.
...
"Pay attention, we're about to enter Ryugu Palace. This coating is about to break, and then we'll be in direct contact with the seawater!"
Just before entering Ryugu Palace, Yoru immediately spoke up to remind Nozdormu and Burgess!
He especially wanted to prepare Nozdormu, as he was an ability user.
"Understood!"
Nozdormu took a deep breath upon hearing this, feeling a bit nervous.
"Pop!"
With a 'pop' sound, the coating outside the Thousand Sunny shattered, and Yoru and the other two were instantly surrounded by seawater.
"Uwa!"
Nozdormu immediately felt weak all over and couldn't help but choke on some water.
Seeing this, Yoru quickly grabbed him, and they were pulled towards the interior by the current of Ryugu Palace.
"Bang!"
With the feeling of solid ground underfoot, the weakness from having their abilities stripped away by the sea also vanished.
Entering Ryugu Palace was a success!
"Who are you people!"
However, their entry quickly attracted the attention of Ryugu Palace.
Because the place where the three of them landed was not in a remote area of Ryugu Palace, but almost in the center, they were unsurprisingly treated as intruders.
"They're pirates!!!"
A Ryugu Palace guard let out an exclamation, causing the other guards present to immediately become alert.
Pirates were the people they disliked the most!
"Hands up, don't try to resist!"
"Call for backup, we must capture them!"
"Absolutely don't let them cause trouble in Ryugu Palace!"
These guards were quite agitated, their eyes filled with hatred.
"Don't be agitated, everyone. We have no ill intentions and won't do anything bad to Fish-Man Island. Please inform your King Neptune, I have something I'd like to discuss with him!"
Yoru smiled, raising his hands to show he had no ill will.
"Hmph, do you think I'll believe your nonsense?"
But the guards of Fish-Man Island didn't believe Yoru at all.
For so many years, which pirate hadn't said they had no ill intentions, but in the end, which one hadn't committed evil deeds on Fish-Man Island and trafficked their fellow inhabitants?
They completely disbelieved Yoru and the others.
"What's happening!"
Just then, a shark-type Fish-Man appeared, asking about the situation.
"Prince Shark, we found these three intruders. They said they want to see King Neptune. I think they have absolutely no good intentions, and I suggest we capture them first!" one of the guards said.
But Prince Shark looked at Yoru, frowning, and asked with some uncertainty, "Are you the Shichibukai 'Lightning Killer'?"
"Prince Shark actually knows who I am?"
It was something Yoru had never expected, that someone on Fish-Man Island would recognize him.
"How could I not know the name of a Shichibukai!"
After recognizing Yoru's identity, Prince Shark's vigilance slightly decreased, but his solemn expression grew even stronger.
Chapter 387: A Timely Favor
"Shichibukai are no ordinary individuals; they're on the same level as Jinbe, a true symbol of power."
"However, why have you come to Ryugu Palace? And why do you wish to see my father, the King?" Fukaboshi asked, his face serious. He couldn't afford to miss any detail and needed to be absolutely clear.
"I wish to obtain King Neptune's permission to view your Ryugu Palace's Poneglyph!" Yoru stated his purpose without any hesitation.
"What?! For the Poneglyph?!" Hearing his words, the surrounding guards were shocked, and then they all shouted, "No way!"
"Prince Fukaboshi, quickly expel him! He absolutely cannot be allowed to lay his hands on the Poneglyph; this man is certainly no good!" They were agitated! Yoru actually wanting to touch the Poneglyph was simply outrageous. He would definitely cause a huge uproar in Ryugu Palace.
But Fukaboshi wasn't agitated. "Are you sure you only wish to view the Poneglyph, and not take it away?"
Yoru shrugged, "Do you think I'd dare cause trouble while underwater?"
Fukaboshi, "Can you guarantee you won't cause trouble and will leave immediately after viewing the Poneglyph?"
Yoru, "Of course!"
"Come with me then, I'll take you to see my father!" Fukaboshi made his decision, but the guards were instantly startled. "Prince Fukaboshi, you can't!!"
Fukaboshi waved his hand, "It's alright, I'll take responsibility if anything goes wrong. You all stay alert, and if he makes any suspicious move, attack him immediately!"
"Yes!" Since Fukaboshi had said so, the guards naturally wouldn't defy his words.
And so, they made their way into Ryugu Palace.
"King Neptune, greetings!" Yoru was very polite, paying his respects to King Neptune, the ruler of Ryugu Palace.
"I've heard of your purpose for coming. I don't see any problem with it, but you must promise to leave immediately after you finish viewing the Poneglyph!" Neptune was a colossal merman, and Yoru seemed like a tiny shrimp in comparison.
"Thank you!" Neptune not refusing was the best possible outcome. After all, Fish-Man Island was still under Whitebeard's protection. Getting into a conflict with Whitebeard wouldn't be a wise decision.
"Fukaboshi, take him!" Neptune looked at Fukaboshi, who nodded and motioned for Yoru to follow him.
...Behind Ryugu Palace!
"This is where the Poneglyph is kept. After you've seen it, please leave. If you linger and cause any unpleasantness, I believe neither of us would wish to see that." Fukaboshi watched Yoru with vigilance as he spoke.
"Naturally!" Yoru pulled out some tracing paper and laid it over the Poneglyph. After waiting for about a minute, the paper peeled off, the tracing complete.
"Thank you!" Yoru put away the tracing paper and thanked him again.
However, just as he was about to leave, a gigantic axe suddenly flew from the distant sky, aiming right for Yoru's head.
"Captain, look out!" Seeing this, Burgess and Novus couldn't help but exclaim in alarm. Fukaboshi was also startled. If Yoru misunderstood and thought Ryugu Palace was attacking him, with Yoru's strength, Ryugu Palace would undoubtedly suffer heavy losses. Cold sweat immediately broke out on Fukaboshi's forehead.
"Tzing!" Fukaboshi saw a flash of cold light shoot out from Yoru's hand, followed by a piercing clash of metal. The flying axe was actually cut in two.
Meanwhile, Burgess and Novus glared angrily at Fukaboshi, radiating a fierce aura. This startled Fukaboshi, who quickly tried to explain, "Gentlemen, it's not like that, this has nothing to do with us, this is..."
"Vander Decken IX, is it?" A cold glint flashed in Yoru's eyes. "It seems I've found a way to thank you, Prince Fukaboshi!"
Yoru waved his hand, signaling Burgess and Novus not to be hostile towards Fukaboshi. "This has nothing to do with Ryugu Palace; the enemy is from another faction!"
Hearing his words, Fukaboshi let out a long sigh of relief. "Thank you, Sir Yoru, for your understanding..."
"However, this axe attack... I can't just let it go!"
Yoru closed his eyes, unleashing his Kenbunshoku Haki. "Prince Fukaboshi, you've suffered from this axe's attacks for a long time, haven't you?"
"As a return for letting me view the Poneglyph, I'll help you get rid of this guy!"
With that, Yoru spoke, "Expel him, Reality Breaker!"
A flash of cold light, like a bolt of lightning, streaked past, piercing clean through Ryugu Palace's outer wall and shooting into the ocean.
On a massive ship.
"Shirahoshi, accept my love!" A hideous, sloppily dressed yellow fish-man grinned triumphantly.
But just as he finished speaking, a flash of cold light rapidly enlarged in his vision, then pierced his body, carrying him flying away.
"What... what's happening?!" The man had no idea what was going on as he was plunged directly into the seawater, rapidly receding in the ocean.
"Uwaa..." The man's eyes rolled back, violently choking on water, and the large ship beneath him also began to move. Eventually, he was propelled two kilometers away, and then, his body was sliced in two! The massive ship plummeted towards the endless ocean.
Back at Fish-Man Island!
"Hmm, dealt with. Now Prince Fukaboshi won't have to worry about his sister being attacked anymore!"
"Vander Decken and the Noah he used to threaten you have both been taken care of! Vander Decken is dead, and Noah has sunk into the endless sea, waiting for the one destined to find it, the one guiding Ryugu Palace, to retrieve it again!"
"Alright, Prince Fukaboshi, until we meet again!" Yoru sheathed his sword and departed gracefully.
Only Fukaboshi was left, staring blankly at the departing Yoru, mumbling, "How did he know all that? Does he possess foresight or something?"
But no one would answer Fukaboshi's question!
However, upon learning that Yoru had helped him resolve the threat of Vander Decken, King Neptune warmly invited Yoru to stay and enjoy Fish-Man Island for a few days. Yoru initially intended to refuse, but he simply couldn't refuse Neptune's persistence and agreed to stay for two days.
"Thank you so much, Sir Yoru, you've helped immensely! I was plagued daily by the threat of that scoundrel Vander Decken, yet I had no way to resolve it!"
"It's shameful to admit, but I could only protect my daughter Shirahoshi by hiding her in the Hard-Shelled Tower!"
Seeing Neptune teary-eyed, ashamed, yet happy. Yoru smiled, raising his cup. "King Neptune provided me with convenience, allowing me to smoothly view the Poneglyph, so me helping King Neptune solve a small problem like Vander Decken is only natural!"
"Come, King Neptune, this drink is to celebrate the removal of this burden from your heart!"
"Good, come, drink!" Neptune was extremely happy, drinking alongside Yoru. The others, like Fukaboshi, also chatted amicably with Novus and Burgess, and the atmosphere was exceptionally harmonious.
Chapter 388: The Eleven Supernovas
Two days later, Sabaody Archipelago!
"Ah, finally alive again! Wee ha ha, the seabed is really depressing, the land suits me better!" After landing heavily again, Burgess laughed happily, completely relaxed.
"But that drink on Fish-Man Island was really exhilarating, wee ha ha! If I get the chance in the future, I definitely have to go back and have another drink!"
Clearly, the sake on Fish-Man Island suited his taste.
"Heh heh, if there's a chance in the future, I'll definitely let you drink your fill!"
Yoru also smiled upon hearing this. "So, now we wait for that big battle to arrive!"
The round trip to Fish-Man Island took four days.
There are still ten days until the Whitebeard Pirates attack!
"Did you hear? The Shichibukai Gecko Moria was defeated by the rookie pirate Straw Hat Luffy!"
"What? Something like that happened? This Straw Hat Luffy is too amazing! I remember not long ago, didn't he just defeat Crocodile?"
"Exactly! That's why he's called the 'Worst Generation'. It's said there are ten other dazzling pirates like Straw Hat Luffy!"
"Today, they've all landed on this island!"
"Huh? Such a group of people meeting on Sabaody Archipelago? This is unbelievable, I feel like something big is about to happen!"
"You can say that again! It's said they're called the Eleven Supernovas, and each one is a great pirate with a bounty over 100 million Berry!"
Landing in the commercial district of Sabaody Archipelago and listening to the news around him, a smile couldn't help but play on Yoru's lips.
"He defeated Moria and arrived at Sabaody Archipelago so quickly? How interesting..."
"Straw Hat Luffy, and Law, I'm really looking forward to meeting you!"
The island is incredibly lively at the moment.
With all Eleven Supernovas gathered, conflicts are naturally unavoidable.
And so!
First, there was the clash between Captain Eustass Kid and Gangster Bege!
Later...
"Run!"
"Mad Monk Urouge is going berserk!"
"Ah!"
In area 21, a battle was taking place.
Among the Eleven Supernovas, Mad Monk Urouge and Killer the Massacre Soldier were fighting.
The scene was quite intense, and of course, many people were caught in the crossfire!
But just as their battle was reaching its climax, it was stopped by another Supernova!
Fallen Marine Rear Admiral, bounty 222 million Berry, "Red Flag" X Drake!
"If you want to cause trouble, go to the New World! You guys... are blocking my way!"
Drake warned them with an unfriendly gaze.
"Heh heh, masked brat, you got to keep your little life!" Mad Monk Urouge grinned and said.
Killer the Massacre Soldier: "Fallen Marine, you're really interfering!"
But Drake ignored their mockery or戲谑, walking forward.
And on the other side...
"This is truly a noisy island!"
Yoru and the other two walked along the road, listening to the sounds of explosions and metal clashing, saying with great interest on their faces.
And in the shadows!
"Heh heh heh, this guy looks like he has a lot of money! Brothers, let's rob him!"
A group of people dressed as pirates stared at Yoru and the two others, saying excitedly.
But this idea was stopped as soon as it was suggested.
A pirate with an eye patch whispered in surprise, "Shh, are you trying to die? You want to rob him? Don't you want to live? Do you know who that is?"
This made the pirate who suggested robbing Yoru confused. "What's his background? Could he be even more powerful than the Eleven Supernovas? He just looks like a kid, how strong can he be?"
The pirate with the eye patch hit the other pirate's head hard. "Are you blind? Is that someone we can mess with? That's the Shichibukai 'Lightning Killer' Yoru, just as ruthless as the Eleven Supernovas!"
"Hiss!!!"
This caused the pirate who had suggested robbing Yoru to gasp, dispelling the idea with a face full of terror.
Can't mess with him, can't mess with him!
...
Meanwhile, at Shakky's Rip-Off Bar.
Shakky was still informing Straw Hat Luffy about the strong individuals on the island.
But suddenly, Shakky seemed to sense something and smiled. "Ara ara, it seems a few more incredible people have arrived on this island!"
"Who came?"
This made Luffy and his crew very curious.
"Shichibukai Yoru!" Shakky exhaled a puff of smoke and said.
"Yoru? Who's that? Is there such a person among the Shichibukai?"
Luffy tilted his head. He had never heard of this person before.
"Heh heh, well, you should meet him soon. Since you're on the same island anyway, the chances of meeting him are very high!"
"However..."
Shakky paused here, looking at Luffy and his crew, and said, "It's best if you don't get into a conflict with that guy!"
Hearing this, Luffy asked again, "Why? Is he that scary?"
Having already defeated two Shichibukai, Luffy felt that the Shichibukai's strength was just so-so and not as powerful as people on the sea said; he could handle them!
"Heh heh, because he's not an opponent you can handle right now!"
Shakky looked at Luffy and his crew. "The gap in strength between you is too large. If you get into a conflict with him, your voyage might end here!"
"My little Monkey, be careful, absolutely do not get into a conflict with that guy!"
Luffy pulled down his straw hat and said seriously, "Got it!"
...
Back to Yoru!
"Alright, let's eat here!"
After choosing a restaurant, Yoru and the other two walked in.
"Is that...?"
"The Shichibukai 'Lightning Killer' Yoru!"
"Why is he here?"
"Hey, hey, hey, things seem to be getting worse!"
The moment Yoru entered the restaurant, many pirates recognized him, and they were all instantly very surprised.
"A Shichibukai? Interesting!"
In a corner, a long-limbed man, wearing a Tang suit, with a small braid, and a strange appearance, grinned.
"Oh, I didn't expect to meet some interesting people in this restaurant!"
Yoru glanced over and was startled when he saw the few unique-looking pirates, then he smiled.
"Big Eater" Jewelry Bonney!
"Roar of the Sea" Scratchmen Apoo!
"Magician" Basil Hawkins!
They are all captains of pirate crews from the Eleven Supernovas!
"Captain, it seems someone is rushing towards you with quite a lot of hostility!"
Suddenly, Nozdormu spoke from the side.
"Is that Kid? Burgess, go repel him. Otherwise, we probably won't be able to have a good meal, and it's not good to ruin the business of other people's shops!"
Yoru was calm, as if he didn't put Kid in his eyes at all.
Chapter 389: The Sabaody Showdown
"Heheh, Captain, watch this!" Burgess immediately stepped out, quite excited. Clearly, it was finally his turn to act, giving him a great sense of accomplishment.
"Novus, you keep an eye out too. It seems Kid isn't the only one who's shown up!"
Novus smiled at that. "Don't worry, Captain, I'm always on alert!"
Outside the restaurant!
"Yo! Ru!!" Kid's wild roar was audible before he was even visible. Most people in the restaurant couldn't help but show curiosity. Why would Kid be clashing with Yoru, and so intensely at that?
"Wahahaha! You wanna pick a fight with the Captain? First, let's see if you're even worthy!" Burgess laughed loudly, raising his hands excitedly. In his sight, Kid was charging towards him at sonic speed. And slowly, his arm was covered in a layer of Busoshoku Haki.
"Take this punch!" He stomped hard, lunging at Kid like a cannonball. A punch imbued with shockwave power slammed heavily into Kid's face.
Kid hadn't expected Burgess to suddenly charge out and punch him! "Uwaah!" This punch, with its condensed, hard, and powerful force, made Kid feel like his head was going to shatter. He spat out a mouthful of blood, crashing into the building behind him.
Seeing this, the people around couldn't help but be surprised. "The 'Captain' Kid, with a bounty of over 300 million, couldn't even withstand one punch from a Shichibukai's subordinate?" They wondered, "Is the power gap really that massive?"
"Bastard!!!" Kid, however, wasn't seriously injured. He glared fiercely at Burgess, the culprit, and stretched out his hand, unleashing his Devil Fruit ability.
"Die!!" All the surrounding steel and metal were instantly attracted to Kid, forming a gigantic metal fist that tore through the air, hurtling towards Burgess.
"A power contest, huh? Wahahaha! I'm not afraid of you!" Burgess's fists surged with shockwave power, enveloped in Busoshoku Haki, confronting the attack with condensed strength.
"Bang!" A huge explosion reverberated around them, the ground shaking violently, and a furious shockwave spread outwards.
"Heheh, a pirate with a 300 million bounty, is that all you've got?" Burgess grinned, looking quite at ease. "In that case, I won't hold back!"
His arm suddenly swelled, and a colossal force erupted, sending Kid reeling backward.
"Whoosh!" Burgess seized the opportunity to close the distance, appearing before Kid, and unleashed another furious punch.
Kid's pupils constricted, and he quickly swung his arm to block.
"Tzing!" It was like being hit by a mountain. Burgess's terrifying strength made Kid groan with effort again, his metal arm shattering.
"Don't... don't think this is over!!" Kid roared, a terrifying repulsive force erupting from his arm. The gathered metal arm pieces flew towards Burgess like a torrential rain of shrapnel.
"Be buried in this sea of steel!" Kid roared, his eyes filled with savage light. Burgess was surprised, but not panicked. With a "whoosh," he vanished from the storm of metallic attacks.
Then, with another "whoosh," he reappeared before Kid, his fist, covered in terrifying Busoshoku Haki, slamming out once more.
"You think... I'll fall for that again?!" Kid roared back, looking at the fist coming right at him. He launched an identical punch, unleashing a powerful repulsive force that collided heavily with Burgess's fist.
"Boom!" The ground trembled violently again, and a fierce shockwave tore through the ground, spreading outwards. The surrounding people had long since fled, completely unwilling to stay. The only ones who dared to remain were a handful of individuals who had some confidence in their own strength.
"Two monsters!" Apoo watched Burgess and Kid, commenting aloud.
"Boom!" "Clang!" "Boom!" Burgess and Kid engaged in a wild close-quarters brawl, fists clashing, ferociously intense and visually stunning!
"Wahahaha, this is great, so great! Hey kid, hit me harder!" Burgess's eyes glowed, his explosive aura growing even more intense, causing alarm.
"You bastard, don't get too cocky!!!" Kid roared in fury. Burgess was treating him like a sparring partner; it was unbearable!
"Captain, I'll take him out!!" At that moment, a sharp figure flashed past Kid, exuding a keen aura as it lunged towards Burgess's neck.
But Burgess smirked, showing no concern at all. Because...
"Tzing!" The sharp figure attacking Burgess's neck was blocked by a bolt of lightning.
The crowd looked, and saw that the lightning was none other than Novus! And the sharp figure was Killer, the "Massacre Soldier" of the Kid Pirates, one of the Eleven Supernovas!
"Casually interfering in someone else's fight? That's not what a true man does!" Novus licked his lips. "If you're not satisfied, let me be your opponent for a while. We're both swordsmen; I think we'll have a lot to talk about!" Novus was crackling with electricity, making him look like a Thunder God.
"Well then, here I come!" The instant he spoke, Novus's figure vanished from his spot.
"So fast!" At this moment, not only Killer gasped, but also the surrounding onlookers. They couldn't track Novus's movements at all, which raised their perception of the Shichibukai's subordinate's strength even higher. Just a subordinate was already so formidable that they found him troublesome, let alone if Yoru himself were to act.
"Over here!" Seeing Killer searching for him, Novus's voice suddenly came from behind Killer.
Killer tensed up, quickly swinging his blades, but the moment he did, his pupils constricted. Because in his line of sight, there was no trace of Novus.
"I said, over here!" From behind Killer, Novus's voice came again. "Flash Kick!"
Killer felt a chill run down his spine. He spun around quickly but only saw a bolt of lightning rapidly growing larger in his eyes, radiating a wild and condensed power.
"Bang!" Killer was sent flying like a cannonball, slamming into a Yarukiman Mangrove tree on Sabaody Archipelago.
"Boom!" Even the Yarukiman Mangrove exploded with a large hole, wood splinters flying everywhere, and the ground shaking.
Seeing this, including Apoo, Hawkins, and the others, their eyes all narrowed sharply. Novus's strength had truly exceeded their expectations. Killer, with a bounty of over 100 million, was defeated so easily; that level of power was truly terrifying.
Their gaze towards Yoru became even more wary!
Chapter 390: You're Too Weak
They originally thought that because two Shichibukai had been defeated by the Straw Hat Luffy, who was also a Supernova, the Shichibukai weren't all that impressive or scary.
But now, it seems that even among the Shichibukai, the strength of each member varies.
"How strong is this guy, really?"
A crowd of people looked at Yoru, thinking with heavy hearts.
"Killer!"
Seeing this scene, Kid, who was engaged in an intense Taijutsu clash with Burgess, was greatly alarmed.
"While engaging in such an intense battle with me, you dare to be distracted!"
"Eustass Kid, aren't you looking down on me a bit?"
Burgess's fist was wrapped in an unprecedentedly sharp Busoshoku Haki, and the vibrating power on his arm shook the surrounding air. It was like a massive hammer, smashing onto Kid's fist.
"Crack!"
"Uwa!"
The moment they clashed, Kid's face changed. The bones in his arm instantly made a breaking sound.
He was no match for this power. He coughed up a mouthful of blood and was sent flying back.
"Wee ha ha, take this!"
Burgess took another heavy step, closing in. His pitch-black fist, covered in Armament Haki, landed heavily on Kid's chest without any obstruction.
"Bang!"
Kid's eyes bulged out in pain.
He spat out another large mouthful of blood and was smashed into a ten-meter deep pit, deeply embedded within it, having lost nearly half of his fighting strength.
"Wee ha ha~"
"You can't even beat me, and you still want to challenge our Captain?"
"You, the so-called head of the Supernovas, are a bit too arrogant. I'm the weakest one in our pirate crew!"
Upon hearing Burgess's words, Hawkins and the others couldn't help but shrink their pupils.
Burgess had even defeated Kid, and he was the weakest?
How strong was Yoru, then?
"You expect them to be as strong as us?"
"Frankly, they're just a bunch of kids who just set sail on the sea. They still don't know what the real pirate world is like, or what true strength is like. They still have too much to learn!"
Nozdormu heard this, looked at the members of the Kid Pirates who were full of apprehension but didn't dare to make a move, and said contemptuously.
He glanced at Burgess again and said, "Let's go, let's head back. We just ate a few bites of delicious food and were interrupted. I'm starving now!"
"Wee ha ha, you're right!"
Burgess laughed loudly and returned to the restaurant, leaving the Kid Pirates to retreat dejectedly.
"One day, I'll show you how strong I am! Next time, I won't lose to your subordinate, Yoru, you mark my words!"
However, since he is Kid, losing face and saying nothing would be too much of a loss.
"I'll be waiting!"
Yoru grinned upon hearing this, not taking it to heart at all.
...
After a hearty meal, Yoru and the other two continued to wander around.
"Well, both of you should have things you want to buy, right? Go ahead, go browse on your own, you don't have to keep following me!"
As a qualified captain, one naturally has to understand the thoughts of their subordinates.
"Understood, Captain!"
Hearing this, the two showed delight. Just as they were about to leave, Yoru said again, "Oh, by the way, there are World Nobles (Tenryubito) appearing on this island. If it's not necessary, don't provoke them. If you see them, just walk around them!"
"Causing trouble with them would be a bit troublesome, and it wouldn't look good to Fleet Admiral Sengoku either!"
Upon hearing this, the two nodded, indicating they understood.
"Go on!"
Yoru separated from Nozdormu and Burgess.
"Did you hear? There's a rare item like a mermaid at the auction house!"
"What? There's even a mermaid? Let's go, let's go, quickly go and see!"
"Speaking of which, did you know? It's said that those guys, the World Nobles, have also shown up on this island!"
"Yeah, I saw it with my own eyes just now. As expected of World Nobles, they're just arrogant and overbearing, openly robbing women in broad daylight, and no one dares to say anything even if they kill or set things on fire. You still have to respectfully watch them leave!"
"World Nobles, they really are amazing. They can get whatever they want!"
Walking in the commercial district of Sabaody Archipelago, Yoru suddenly heard such discussions around him.
"A mermaid? From Fish-Man Island?"
The corner of Yoru's mouth curved into a smile. "Then it seems I'll get to see a good show!"
Sabaody Archipelago, World Nobles, mermaids...
These keywords put together, a picture immediately appeared in Yoru's mind – Monkey D. Luffy beating up the World Noble Charlos Saint!
"This seems like a very interesting scene!"
Thinking of this, Yoru turned around and headed towards the auction house.
If Rayleigh didn't show up in the end, then he would just have to make a move himself and save the mermaid.
After all, he had a bit of a relationship with King Neptune of Fish-Man Island.
Having drunk so much of their sake, he had to return the favor somewhat.
"Look, that guy, isn't that the Shichibukai...?" Someone spotted Yoru and was about to speak, but was stopped by the person next to them.
"Shh, are you trying to die? What if he spots you pointing at him? That guy made his debut by slaughtering pirates! If he finds us, we're finished!" The person who stopped them was full of panic.
"Oh, is Yoru-san also interested in mermaids? How interesting!"
Not far behind Yoru, Trafalgar Law also spotted him.
And so, he also followed him inside.
And just as Yoru entered, the gazes of many people in the venue fell upon him.
"That guy, isn't he a Shichibukai? Why would he appear here? What's going on? Did he also take a liking to something at the auction house?"
The people who could enter the auction house were not simple, and they naturally all recognized Yoru.
"World Nobles, heh heh, interesting!"
Yoru's gaze, however, swept over the faces of the three World Nobles at the front of the auction house. Then, he casually found a seat and sat down.
Not long after he came in, Trafalgar Law, Eustass Kid, and Nami of the Straw Hat Pirates also entered successively.
"Yo, Eustass-ya, we meet again!"
Yoru smiled and greeted Kid, causing the other party's face to instantly darken.
"I'll get you back for this sooner or later!"
Leaving only that sentence with a gloomy face, Kid closed his eyes.
Yoru also leaned back in his chair, quietly waiting for the auction to begin and for the mermaid to appear.
If the Straw Hat kid didn't follow the plot of the original work, crash the auction, beat up the World Noble, and take the mermaid, then he would just have to make a move himself.
Soon, the auction began!
The dark side of this world was slowly revealed.
People of various races, or pirates who were once full of vigor on the high seas, were now placed on the stage like goods and commodities, to be bid on by anyone, completely without personal dignity.
