Just as Roy and Mary went for coffee to help their future senior classmate adjust her mood, Adela's laptop was also brought to the Federal Emergency Agency's Los Angeles branch.
As an official organization, the Federal Emergency Agency naturally had its own office locations.
However, as a secret organization, apart from its relatively conspicuous headquarters, its branches were quite low-key.
In fact, the Federal Emergency Agency's Los Angeles branch was located in the underground parking garage of the Dolphin Hotel.
Because the Dolphin Hotel had a very high volume of guests, a large number of people coming and going wouldn't attract any attention.
Of course, this was mainly a location for agents to work; mobile team members like FEAR would definitely train outside the city of Los Angeles.
The agent carrying Adela's laptop entered the studio after going through layers of checks and began a detailed inspection of the laptop with two other agents.
The three agents first disassembled the laptop to confirm there were no hardware issues, then reassembled it and restarted the system.
The entire process would be recorded by a digital camera and later filed.
After the computer started, the agent first opened the hard drive but found that it only contained some study materials.
Yeah, real study materials, not adult films.
Suspecting the presence of hidden information, the agent began a deep scan of the hard drive's contents and indeed found that the C drive's space didn't match up.
Just as the agent was preparing to crack the hard drive and find the hidden information, MSN suddenly logged in by itself.
This was very strange because the agent hadn't plugged in an internet cable, and there was no wireless network in the underground base. How could MSN log in without internet?
This agent was very alert and immediately prepared to have another agent nearby report the anomaly to their superior.
Only two agents remained in the studio. The agent sitting in front of the laptop turned around to calm their nerves. They didn't continue operating the computer because, according to regulations, such abnormal situations required guidance from a higher-ranking agent before proceeding.
However, while the agent didn't move, the laptop automatically started operating itself.
First, MSN successfully logged in, and then a chat window popped up on its own. It was the succubus's own account. This was the succubus chatting with her own account.
This bizarre scene made both agents feel rather strange.
Then, something even more outrageous happened. In the complete absence of any network, the succubus's account began chatting with the agent in front of the screen.
Succubus: Hello, I'm Adela. Do you want to meet me?
After this sentence was typed, a very revealing selfie also appeared in the chat window.
The snow-white skin, alluring curves, and seductive red lips made both agents saliva swallowing saliva .
Upon seeing the golden pupils in the photo, the agent in front of the laptop could hardly control their hands. They reached out and typed the three English letters "YES" on the keyboard.
Unexpectedly, the other agent, who was originally responsible for supervision, said nothing and just stared straight at the selfie, their eyes full of infatuation.
Succubus: Then come on!
After this sentence appeared, a video quickly popped up on the screen and automatically started playing.
The video showed Adela holding a candle in her hand, her golden pupils seeming to look through time and space at the agent in front of the screen.
Or, for the agent, it seemed as if they actually saw Adela standing in front of them, gently pushing them down, and then exploring them with soft hands.
Everything felt so real that the agent quickly fell into Adela's tenderness, as if they had forgotten time and space.
Adela's magnetic, sweet voice rang in their ears.
"Darling, could you do me a favor?"
Hearing the word "darling," the agent felt their whole body go weak.
"Ms. Adela, I'll do anything!"
Just to hear Adela say "darling" one more time.
The superior quickly arrived at the studio with several agents and then saw two of their subordinates staring blankly at the laptop screen like idiots.
The experienced superior immediately sensed that something was wrong and patted both of them.
"Tom, Jerry, what's wrong with you?"
Hearing their superior's voice, Tom and Jerry turned their heads to look at him strangely, with pleasant smiles on their faces.
"Hello, Mr. Charles."
After saying that, the two of them simultaneously took down their superior. The agents behind the superior immediately drew their guns, ready to stop Tom and Jerry, but when Tom turned the laptop screen on the table towards them, these people's minds began to wander.
Before long, these agents, including Charles, who had just been knocked to the ground, all showed that same pleasant expression.
Afterward, Tom held the laptop to his chest with the screen facing outward and walked out of the studio, while the others followed him in an orderly fashion.
This scene actually looked quite like a funeral procession, with Tom resembling the eldest grandson holding the deceased's portrait.
Yeah, if Roy were there to see this, he definitely wouldn't be able to hold back his laughter.
Tom and the others' abnormal behavior quickly attracted the attention of other agents. Some tried to stop them, but these people were also controlled like Tom.
Just kidding, Roy with his 39 Willpower almost fell for the charm; most people wouldn't be able to resist it.
More and more agents were charmed, and the situation began to spiral out of control. As a result, the alarm in the underground base was triggered.
Roy learned of this news while chatting enthusiastically with Mary at the coffee shop.
Using some popular slang from the future, Roy successfully made Mary laugh uncontrollably, turning her cloudy mood into sunshine.
At this moment, Mary's favorability towards Roy was rapidly increasing. Just as Roy was about to make further advances, Gerald called.
"What? Are you serious?"
Roy looked at Mary somewhat hesitantly.
Mary was understanding and immediately spoke when she saw Roy's slight embarrassment.
"Roy, is something wrong? If you have something urgent, don't worry about me."
Roy hung up the phone.
"It's that fierce black guy from before. He needs something from me."
Mary couldn't help but worry about Roy, after all, it might be related to a murder case.
"Will there be trouble?"
"No, he's the one in trouble and needs my help."
Just as he was speaking, Gerald entered the coffee shop with some people. This guy actually came directly to find him.
"Go ahead, Roy, I'll be fine."
"Alright, if anything happens, contact me anytime!"
Roy made a calling gesture with his hand and then went to meet Gerald.
Watching Roy's departing figure, Mary revealed a complicated expression.
"If only you didn't have a girlfriend!"
It seemed Mary was still a bit concerned about Roy's flirtatious nature, but this was already a good sign, indicating that she was very satisfied with other aspects of Roy.
"Mr. Olin, what exactly is it that made you so anxious to find me?"
"Let's talk as we walk!"
Whether it was his imagination or not, Roy felt that Gerald's complexion seemed to have become even darker.
Gerald didn't directly mention what happened at the FEA underground base. Instead, he first talked about the lab results of the rotten flesh DNA. This guy had been busy with this matter and wasn't at the base, which was why he had escaped the disaster.
"The DNA analysis confirmed that it matches Adela's genes, but—"
In America, as long as you have medical records, it's easy to verify DNA. However, Gerald changed his tone, indicating there was something else.
"But what?"
"The lab personnel found goat DNA tissue inside that rotten flesh!"
This was a bit horrifying. It's impossible for human bodies to have goat DNA; the chromosomes of different species are completely different.
"Are you sure? Could it be that goat meat was mixed with Adela's flesh?"
"No, the lab personnel simultaneously analyzed two different sets of chromosomes from a relatively complete piece of flesh."
Hiss! Roy was a bit shocked, but he quickly thought of something.
In Christian culture, goats are often seen as the embodiment of the devil, and Satanic cults also place goat heads during sacrifices.
So, goats are often equated with demons.
The latest and fastest novels are first published on [website address]!
On the one hand, this is because the goat head was a pagan deity, and due to religious suppression, Christianity equated goats with demons.
On the other hand, it's also because some men in the Middle Ages would engage in some rather unsavory acts with goats. For details, you can look up the story of the Welsh people and goats.
Speaking of which, Roy had never had the chance to analyze the corpse of a demon before. Could it be that this is what demon genes are like?
He voiced his thoughts and received confirmation from Gerald.
"That's possible! However, FEA has never captured the physical body of a demon before. Usually, it's just possessed individuals, so we can't verify this."
"Alright, so what's the purpose of you being so anxious to find me?"
At this point, Roy had followed Gerald to the entrance of the Dolphin Hotel.
Gerald took a deep breath and answered Roy.
"After Adela's computer was sent back to FEA's base, the base quickly fell. According to the information coming out of there, most people have been charmed by that computer and turned into Adela's slaves!"
So, their base was taken over. No wonder Gerald was so anxious.
However, this situation made Roy think of a possibility.
"Adela can charm others through the computer, and we also saw rotten flesh with her DNA in her bedroom. Do you think it's possible that she abandoned her physical body and entered that laptop?"
Gerald was stunned. This cyberpunk development was something he hadn't considered.
"Is that possible?"
Roy mentally flipped through the knowledge in the Key of Solomon.
"Theoretically, certain demons can indeed attach themselves to objects, and if that object happens to have certain characteristics, the demon can also utilize it."
Upon hearing this, Gerald gasped.
"It seems the reason for the base's fall has been found. Now the problem is how to solve it!"
While speaking, the two had already entered the underground parking garage. It had been sealed off by FEA agents, and rows of FEAR members stood at the entrance of the underground base.
"Mr. Black, do you have a way?"
Gerald looked at Roy with burning eyes, but Roy actually wasn't very confident.
After all, he had almost fallen for it that morning. Who knew if getting close to Adela would lead to him being controlled?
If Roy were controlled, it would be a huge problem. The entire Los Angeles would be turned upside down.
"I..."
Seeing Roy's hesitation, Gerald spoke.
"Mr. Black, I really need your help right now. If you can help me resolve this incident, I owe you a personal favor!"
Was a favor from the head of the FEA branch valuable?
It definitely was!
It seemed Gerald was truly desperate, even using a personal favor as an exchange.
Roy's eyes lit up as he looked at Gerald.
"Can I use this favor to get Saltana reinstated?"
Gerald frowned slightly, then nodded heavily.
"Yes, I have some connections at headquarters. I can help Saltana with some lobbying, but she definitely won't be able to go back to her previous position."
Saltana was previously a senior agent, ranking only below the director and department heads within the branch. She could independently establish informant files. Losing her was actually quite a pity.
However, being able to be reinstated at all was the best outcome now. He couldn't ask for too much.
"Alright, I'll do it!"
After reaching an agreement, Gerald visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
"Mr. Black, do you need me to prepare anything?"
Roy's equipment was actually all stored in his inventory, but to avoid exposure, he still asked Gerald to prepare some guns and ammunition.
Gerald also offered to let Roy take a team of FEAR members inside, but he refused.
Just kidding, with Adela's powerful charm, it wouldn't matter how many assistants he took in. In the end, Roy would still have to watch out for his own people's bullets.
After taking a large amount of weapons and ammunition from FEA, Gerald opened the entrance to the underground base.
"What's the situation inside now?"
"Almost all the agents have been charmed by Adela. Maybe there are still a few normal agents, but they are probably in danger themselves. The last information I received was that agents under control were seen taking Adela's laptop into the base's server room. By the way, Mr. Black, could I make a request?"
"Go ahead."
"Try not to kill the FEA agents if possible."
They were all on the payroll. Too many deaths would also affect Gerald. Saltana was suspended for this very reason.
Now it was just a base intrusion. As long as people weren't dead and information wasn't leaked, Gerald could still accept it.
"I'll try my best!"
This was really hard to control. Roy would definitely prioritize his own safety.
"Alright, good luck, Mr. Black."
Roy nodded, put on his headset, and walked into the underground base.
FEA's underground base wasn't as futuristic as in the movies. It was more like a bomb shelter, with relatively simple interior decorations.
Roy held the FEA-provided automatic pistol in his hand and cautiously entered the corridor. Gerald had temporarily given Roy clearance, so he proceeded unimpeded.
However, what was strange was that Roy didn't see a single agent. The underground base was completely empty.
Could everyone be in the server room?
Just as he was thinking this, the base's intercom system activated.
"Oh! Mr. Diablo, you've finally come to find me!"

Chapter 126: Ruthless Flower Slayer
Although the broadcast sounded a bit distorted, Roy still recognized Adela's voice.
This guy actually directly controlled the underground base's broadcast!
A cyber succubus is indeed different. Not only can it charm people remotely, but it can even control electronics.
If this goes on for another decade or so, wouldn't they be able to control even more people through online live streams?
It's terrifying to think about. Even demons are keeping up with the times!
However, this should be a unique ability of Adela's. If all demons had this ability, Earth would have been controlled by Hell long ago.
After all, television still has a significant influence. If a demon controlled a television station, it would be no different from an online live stream.
"Is that you, Adela?"
"I didn't expect you to still remember me, Mr. Diablo. So why didn't you go to the place I told you about?"
Actually, the address Adela wrote on the white paper in the video wasn't the same as her dorm.
Clearly, Adela was waiting for Roy in another location, but Roy, along with Mary, ended up raiding her lair.
"Heh, haven't I come now? Isn't the result the same?"
Roy noticed that the security cameras in the underground base were turning to follow his movements.
This must be Adela's way of observing Roy. This really is a cyber succubus!
"You have a point. Then come to the machine room and wait for me. I've prepared a special welcoming ceremony for you there!"
Welcoming ceremony? And a special one at that?
Roy scoffed inwardly but still headed towards the machine room.
Roy had already seen the map of the underground base from Gerald. His 28 Memory stat gave him an excellent photographic memory, and he easily found the location of the machine room.
Here, Roy saw a row of agents standing on both sides of the corridor. Their eyes were glazed over, and they had pleasant smiles on their faces, as if they were having a beautiful dream.
In the middle, an agent was holding a laptop with a video playing on it.
"Come on, Mr. Diablo, look at me!"
Having been warned, Roy quickly lowered his head, avoiding direct eye contact with the computer screen.
This reaction made Adela a bit angry.
"Why don't you want to look at me? Look at me!"
The tone of these words was a bit like a spoiled girlfriend's coquettish complaint, but because of Roy's lack of cooperation, the controlled agents began to walk towards him.
The implication was that if he didn't look willingly, they would force him to.
Can something like this even be forced?
Watching the swarming agents, Roy began to back away.
At this moment, another group of agents appeared behind him, blocking Roy's retreat.
An ordinary person facing this situation would either pull out a gun and start shooting or just succumb to Adela.
But for Roy, he just decided to get it done!
Putting his automatic pistol back into his waistband, Roy faced the agents with his bare hands.
The controlled agents moved slowly, like zombies, and their fighting skills were quite poor. They didn't look like professionally trained agents at all.
This was probably a side effect of Adela's mind control. If they could still perfectly display their strength while being mind-controlled, that would be too terrifying.
Under Roy's monstrous physical abilities, almost no agent could withstand Roy's punches. He sent them all to a peaceful sleep with a single blow each.
Adela, who saw this scene through the security cameras, became angry.
"Useless trash, quickly grab him for me!"
Her anger was useless. Even normal agents wouldn't be able to defeat Roy in hand-to-hand combat. The difference in physical abilities was too great; it wasn't something that technique could make up for.
So, several agents, under Adela's control, pulled out their sidearms.
Bang—
Unfortunately, Roy's speed in drawing and shooting was faster. Bullets from his automatic pistol poured out, accurately hitting the hands of these agents and causing them to drop their guns.
The intense pain seemed to have brought some of the agents back to their senses, but to prevent these agents from being controlled by Adela again, Roy still knocked them unconscious.
Anyway, a gunshot wound in the hand wouldn't kill them for a while.
Ten minutes later, nearly a hundred agents at the scene had all been taken down by Roy, leaving only Agent Tom, who was still holding the laptop.
Agent Tom was oblivious to the situation around him, still holding Adela's laptop like a devoted son.
"Oh, Mr. Diablo, your abilities are truly beyond my imagination! Why do you resist me? Why not throw yourself into my embrace and enter eternal bliss!"
Adela was still trying to tempt Roy, but unfortunately, Roy wasn't buying it. He directly pulled the trigger and shattered the laptop screen.
"Go back to hell!"
This shot also injured Agent Tom in the stomach, but it wasn't a serious wound.
"What happened? Ah, my stomach!"
Without a word, Roy walked forward and punched Agent Tom, knocking him unconscious.
"You'll know when you wake up!"
At this moment, Roy suddenly felt a bit chilly, as if a gust of wind had blown past.
How could there suddenly be wind in the underground base? Gerald had sealed the entrance!
Feeling a bit strange, Roy suddenly remembered a similar sensation when Sadako and Kayako had appeared before.
Could it be...?
Roy took out Mason's digital camera and immediately started taking pictures of his surroundings. This corridor was straight, with only two directions, so he quickly saw a figure with a pair of goat horns walking towards him on the monitor.
Through the monitor, Roy could see the face that looked exactly like Adela's, along with those golden pupils.
Damn it!
Their eyes met again, and Roy immediately felt his body go limp and his mind become hazy.
However, being charmed by Adela for the second time, Roy seemed to have developed some resistance. Or perhaps it was because he didn't directly see her body, allowing his 39 Willpower stat to take effect as it should.
Soon, Roy regained his senses, but he found himself in a different place.
"Where is this?"
Dark red walls, a pitch-black floor. This environment had a very similar color scheme to the room in Adela's video.
Could it be that his consciousness had entered another dimension?
This situation was a bit like Freddy Krueger's ability to drag people into their dreams. Roy had experienced it several times, so he was very calm.
In front of him, Adela in her human form, wearing a semi-transparent gauze dress, had her back to Roy.
After sensing Roy's gaze, Adela slightly turned her head and beckoned Roy with a finger, signaling him to follow.
Having learned from his previous experience, Roy kept his eyes fixed on Adela's rear and didn't look at her face.
However, this angle also allowed Roy to see that Adela was holding a thick red candle in her hand.
Adela walked forward with an alluring cat-like gait, her buttocks swaying with beautiful curves.
Roy hesitated for a moment, then followed. It wasn't that he was attracted to her rear, but rather that he couldn't get out for the time being and wanted to see what tricks Adela was going to play.
Adela led Roy to a huge and empty dark room. Many people were standing in the room. Upon closer inspection, they seemed to be the controlled agents.
Could it be that the consciousness of those controlled people was all in this space?
In the center of the dark room was a large bed shaped like a pyramid. Adela got on the bed, lying on her side and looking at Roy.
"Mr. Diablo, why do you resist me? Am I not beautiful?"
At this moment, Adela's voice was like heavenly music, entering Roy's ears.
Roy thought to himself that this wasn't good. He had controlled his eyes to avoid looking directly at Adela, but he hadn't expected her voice to also have a charming effect.
He quickly covered his ears, but Adela's voice continued to enter his mind, without any reduction in intensity.
Even worse, Roy also smelled a faint sweet fragrance, which began to blur his consciousness.
In a daze, Roy seemed to feel a pair of gentle hands caressing him, starting from his feet and moving upwards.
Although he hadn't made eye contact, the simultaneous attack on his hearing, smell, and touch was causing Roy's willpower to crumble.
At the moment his willpower was about to collapse, Roy activated his Son of the Devil ability.
"Come on, Mr. Diablo, throw yourself into my embrace, and I will let you experience supreme bliss!"
The latest and most up-to-date novels are first published on [website address]!
Adela was still using her powers, then she saw Roy raise his head, his golden pupils staring at her.
"Wait, you're also a demon? But why? I can't sense any demonic aura on you?"
This question should, of course, be directed at Elizabeth. The mark she drew on Roy wasn't even initially discovered by Michael, let alone Adela.
At this moment, Adela hadn't yet realized the seriousness of the situation. After discovering that Roy was one of her kind, she immediately started cursing loudly.
She used slang from Hell, which humans couldn't understand.
Then, Adela felt a terrifying aura. Boundless fear emanated from Roy, causing Adela to shiver involuntarily.
"What do you want to do!"
Roy cracked his neck. He was now controlled by his demonic instincts. This state was somewhat similar to when he was injected with Hell's power by Elizabeth in the House of Wax incident, forcibly increasing his strength.
Because of his insufficient Willpower stat, Roy was temporarily controlled by his demonic instincts, which led him to talk back to his teacher.
The current situation was also like that. Roy's willpower was temporarily destroyed by Adela's charm, so his goal was very clear.
"You, you better not come any closer!"
Adela looked at the approaching Roy in horror, the fear in her heart surging like a tide.
As a succubus, although she was already a mid-level one, combat wasn't Adela's strongest ability. Mental control and charm were.
Watching the strong and mighty Roy approach her, Adela instinctively felt fear. She tried to control him, but failed.
Grabbing Adela's neck and tearing off her transparent gauze dress, Roy pinned Adela down.
This result made Adela slightly relieved. For a succubus, virginity was meaningless.
If it was just about losing her body, then Adela could completely accept it. Maybe she could even absorb some power from Roy through some kind of training.
However, when Roy revealed his terrifying weapon, Adela felt she had been happy too soon.
This was a weapon that even the King of Sloth, Belial, would praise. It was far beyond what Adela, a mid-level succubus, could handle.
"Wait, Mr. Diablo, let's talk this over... Ah—"
Roy, driven only by instinct, couldn't care less and launched a fearless charge.
Adela instantly felt a tearing pain, a sensation she hadn't experienced since her birth.
Then, Adela found herself being lifted up again, the second fearless charge already prepared.
"Ah! No, Lord Diablo, please spare me!"
Realizing that if this continued, she might be stabbed to death, Adela changed her tone.
Unfortunately, Roy was completely irrational now. All he wanted was to screw this beautiful succubus.
Both literally and physically.
In the intense pain, Adela revealed her true demonic form, but unfortunately, it didn't change anything.
Succubi were naturally small, while Roy's body had grown several sizes after becoming the Son of the Devil. In his hands, Adela was like a little girl.
"No!"
"Stop!"
"Spare me!"
In the dark room, heart-wrenching screams echoed endlessly.
Time passed, and the screams began to weaken until they completely disappeared.
But the irrational Roy didn't stop until the system's voice rang in his ears, pulling him back to his senses.
[Ding! Obtained Adela's Fate Treasure Chest! Open it?]
What happened?
Roy looked down at the person beneath him in confusion and saw a beautiful woman with goat horns, staring blankly at the ceiling, clearly having completely lost her life.
Looking at her lower body, it was a truly horrific sight!
It could only be said that the irrational Roy was not someone ordinary people could withstand. Adela had tragically been ravaged.
However, this was also Adela's own doing. If she hadn't tried to destroy Roy's rationality by manipulating his five senses, this wouldn't have happened.
With Adela's death, the alternate dimension she had constructed began to collapse, and Roy's consciousness quickly returned to reality.
At this moment, Roy realized he was still in the corridor of the underground base, surrounded by the FEA agents lying scattered on the floor.
The only change was that Adela's laptop was bleeding, with more blood than the shot Agent Tom.
Damn it, his head hurts so much!
The aftereffects of his willpower collapsing gave Roy a splitting headache. His vision was blurry, and he felt like he had been on a roller coaster after drinking two pounds of fake liquor.
"Mr. Black, what's the situation? Why haven't you been saying anything?"
Gerald's voice came through the earpiece.
To avoid affecting Roy's actions, Gerald had agreed with him to communicate every so often and remain silent at other times.
Gerald's meaning was that Roy had stopped contacting him for a long time.
"Fuck! How long have I been in here?"
"Two hours."
"Has it been that long already?"
Because Roy had no memory of the time he was irrational, it felt like he hadn't been in there for very long.
"Mr. Orlin, I've taken care of the succubus. You can send people in now!"

Chapter 127: Strange Dream
After a team of FEAR operatives entered the underground base to confirm its safety, the FEA agents outside began to fully enter the facility.
Then, Gerald saw Roy sitting wearily in the hallway, along with nearly a hundred unconscious agents.
Seeing this scene, Gerald and the agents beside him were astounded.
"Did you do all this by yourself?"
Roy nodded irritably, his mood terrible due to a headache.
"If I didn't knock them out, did they do it to each other?"
Gerald noticed that Roy wasn't quite himself, so he didn't get angry at his sharp tone.
"Mr. Black, you don't look well. Should we get you to a hospital?"
"No need, I just need to go back and rest."
Roy knew there was nothing physically wrong with him; it was purely mental exhaustion. Going to the hospital wouldn't help in this situation.
Besides, Roy didn't want to be examined by the FEA. Their technology was so advanced, what if they found something strange in his genes?
Theoretically, Roy was now a hybrid of three races: human, demon, and angel, which was what Lilith had previously referred to as a Nephilim.
Seeing that Roy didn't accept his offer, Gerald didn't say much more.
"Mr. Black, thank you very much for your help this time. I'll resolve the matter regarding Saltana as soon as possible, and I'll also pay you an additional 'intelligence fee'!"
Roy raised an eyebrow, not expecting Gerald to be so generous.
But upon closer thought, it seemed quite reasonable.
Because Roy had handled this incident very well. So far, only a few agents had been shot, and the most seriously injured was Agent Tom, who had been shot in the abdomen. Everyone else had just been knocked unconscious.
It could be said that Roy had minimized the losses for the FEA's Los Angeles branch, so Gerald was naturally very grateful to him.
If things had really escalated, Gerald, as the person directly responsible, might have lost his position.
However, this was also related to his habit of personally overseeing operations at the front lines. If he had stayed behind like other high-ranking leaders and remotely directed things, he could have easily shifted the blame.
Of course, this time it was also thanks to Gerald's preference for being on the front lines that he had taken half of the special agents out in the morning. Otherwise, if he had been in the underground base, FEA's command system would have been leaderless, and the resulting chaos might have been even greater.
"Then I'll go back and rest first."
Waving his hand, Roy wasn't in the mood for small talk with Gerald. He staggered out of the underground base.
Watching Roy's departing figure, Gerald narrowed his eyes, seemingly deep in thought.
His face, similar to Nick Fury's, always made people feel like he was plotting something when he was thinking.
"It's a pity someone with such strong abilities isn't one of my agents. That way, I wouldn't have to do everything myself. But if Saltana can come back, that would be a good thing. Maybe it can change the situation somewhat."
An agent came to Gerald's side, interrupting his thoughts.
"Chief, the technicians found some abnormal blood in Adela's laptop, and they also found abnormal code residue in the server room's mainframes!"
Gerald frowned at the agent.
"Is that so? Seal Adela's laptop and the mainframe where the abnormal code was found with the highest security protocols! No one is to study or remove them without my permission!"
"Yes, Chief!"
Roy felt like he was experiencing the sensation of being drunk, something he hadn't felt in a long time. The whole world was spinning, and even the numbers were a bit blurry.
Dizzy, he walked out of the elevator without even looking closely at which floor it was.
Suddenly, someone pulled Roy from behind.
"Sir, this is the 14th floor. No one lives here. How did you get here?"
Turning his head, he saw a young service worker. He wondered if they were an agent in disguise.
Roy broke out in a cold sweat. His room was 1208, just one digit off from 1408. If he had accidentally entered that cursed room, it would have been a huge problem.
"Thank you! I'm feeling a bit unwell. Could you help me back to my room? My room is 1208."
"Of course, no problem, sir!"
With the service worker's help, Roy finally managed to return to Suite 1208. This time, he carefully checked the room number to make absolutely sure.
Inside the suite, Heather and Penny were surfing the internet when they suddenly saw Roy staggering in. They were both startled.
"Roy, what's wrong?"
The two girls quickly helped Roy, but he first turned back to thank the service worker and gave them a tip.
Then, Roy sat down on the sofa with Heather and Penny's support.
"I'm fine, just a headache. I'll probably be better after a sleep."
Roy's mental attribute was 34, which was considered quite high.
This attribute determined Roy's mental strength and recovery speed after mental trauma, so Roy's problem wasn't actually that serious.
However, the feeling of experiencing mental trauma for the first time wasn't pleasant, and Roy was very uncomfortable with it.
Penny looked at Roy with concern.
"Roy, are you sick? Should we go to the hospital?"
"No, no! Just help me back to bed."
Roy was a big guy, and it took both Heather and Penny's combined effort to barely support him to the bed.
The two girls lay down on either side of Roy, trying to lull him to sleep like comforting a sick child.
Penny even started humming a lullaby.
Unfortunately, this girl was beautiful, had a sweet voice, and had even studied dance, with flexibility second only to Jennifer, but she just didn't have a musical bone in her body.
The lullaby she hummed was completely off-key, making it hard for Roy to keep a straight face.
"How am I supposed to sleep with you two like this?"
Heather also felt that Penny's lullaby was a bit frightening and quickly stopped her.
"Penny, you should probably stop singing. Let me do it!"
Heather used her ample chest as a pillow and hugged Roy, using her hands to massage his head with very professional techniques.
Roy quickly felt his headache ease.
"Heather, I never knew you had this skill!"
"Hehe, actually, I learned some nursing and massage techniques when I was in Los Angeles, but I just never had the chance to use them! Do you like it, Roy?"
This was true. Most of the time between Heather and Roy, Roy was the one taking the initiative, usually giving Heather massages. After the massage, Heather wouldn't have the energy to massage Roy.
"I like it a lot..."
Roy's voice grew softer and softer.
"Then I'll give you more massages in the future!"
Roy didn't answer. It was then that Heather realized Roy had already fallen asleep under her massage.
However, Heather didn't stop massaging. She continued to rhythmically press Roy's scalp, allowing him to enjoy it even in his sleep.
Penny looked at Heather's skillful technique with some envy.
"Heather, can you teach me this?"
"Of course! We're best sisters!"
Heather began giving Penny on-the-spot instruction. Roy, in his sleep, was completely unaware of this.
Due to the mental trauma, Roy's sleep quality this time was quite poor. Random and chaotic dreams intertwined.
Suddenly, Roy felt a strange sensation of falling in his dream, like falling from a great height.
Many people might have this feeling in their sleep, which can even cause the body to instinctively make some movements.
After falling, Roy's vision suddenly became clear. He found himself standing in the hallway of the Dolphin Hotel, with the elevator behind him.
The floor indicator above the elevator showed that he was on the 14th floor.
The 14th floor again?
Roy felt a bit strange. He had inexplicably come to the 14th floor in the elevator before, and now he was dreaming of the 14th floor as well.
Something was off!
Roy turned around and pressed the elevator button, wanting to leave this floor, but the elevator didn't respond.
This situation made Roy frown.

In Freddy's Fate Box, Roy had obtained a special ability called Nightmare. Because it was somewhat troublesome to use, he hadn't used it on anyone else so far.
However, Roy had experimented with this ability in his own dreams before. Nightmare allowed him to distinguish between reality and dreams.
For example, after arriving in this hotel hallway, Roy immediately knew he was dreaming. Under normal circumstances, a person's first reaction wouldn't be like this.
Moreover, after gaining the Nightmare ability, Roy was able to change his own dreams, but now his ability had inexplicably lost its effect.
There was only one possibility for this phenomenon: this wasn't Roy's own dream; he was an outsider!
The Nightmare ability could also change other people's dreams, but only if the dream's owner didn't have conscious control over the dream and was in a state of fear. Only then could Roy seize control of the dream.
The problem was, Roy was the only one here so far. So, who was the owner of this dream?
Roy started walking forward.
Due to the special nature of Room 1408, this floor actually only had this one room. The doors of the other rooms had all been converted into walls.
The reason for this was to prevent other guests staying on the 14th floor from accidentally entering Room 1408.
However, for some unknown reason, FEA had actually allowed the elevator to still stop on the 14th floor and hadn't completely sealed off Room 1408.
When Roy walked to the door of Room 1408, the door suddenly opened a crack on its own, as if inviting Roy to enter.
It was now certain that the one dreaming wasn't a person, but most likely Room 1408 itself.
A room dreaming might sound a bit strange, but in the movie "1408," this room did seem to possess a kind of self-awareness, capable of reading the memories of its occupants and creating realistic illusions that could drive people to collapse.
However, Roy was a bit puzzled. Why would he enter 1408's dream without activating his Nightmare ability?
Could it be because he had suffered mental trauma, or as the Cthulhu mythos would say, his Sanity had dropped to zero?
Roy couldn't be sure.
At this moment, some faint whispers suddenly came from the crack in the door. The voice was very alluring, as if a beautiful woman inside was calling Roy to come in.
Roy couldn't help but reach out and grab the doorknob, then gritted his teeth and used force to close the door completely.
Did it really think it could tempt him with just a beautiful voice?
The succubus Adela had at least used several abilities to make Roy lose control.
However, after closing the door, Roy still needed to find a way to leave this hallway. He started trying to use his Nightmare ability to break through the wall and leave, but he was a bit worried that if the wall broke open, he would directly enter Room 1408.
It seemed he could only wait for an external influence to wake him up.
Roy returned to the elevator door and sat down cross-legged, waiting idly.
During this time, the door of Room 1408 repeatedly opened, trying to lure Roy in various ways.
This included, but was not limited to, using the voices of the women around Roy, the voices of his original body's parents, and even the voices of the horror movie villains he had killed.
It was a pity that Roy knew this was a dream, so he wasn't fooled at all.
He didn't know how long he had waited, but the elevator in the dream suddenly started running. The elevator slowly ascended from the first floor, as if someone was coming up.
Could there be other people who had entered this dream?
5, 6... 10, 11...
Just as Roy was about to see who was in the elevator, he suddenly heard a phone ringing above his head, and then his consciousness began to rise rapidly, quickly leaving the dream of 1408.
He was so close to seeing who it was, but being able to leave this damn place was good enough.
Opening his eyes, Roy found that it was already pitch black outside, clearly it was night.
He was still resting on the soft and comfortable airbag, but the size seemed to be a bit smaller because Penny was now acting as Roy's pillow.
The two girls didn't seem to have left while Roy was sleeping, taking turns massaging his head.
But they had probably fallen asleep from staying with him for too long.
The sound of the phone also woke up Penny and Heather. The two girls rubbed their eyes.
"Roy, you're awake? How are you feeling now?"
"I feel much better! At least eighty percent recovered!"
Roy picked up his phone and glanced at the screen. It showed Saltana's number.
And the time on the phone showed that it was already ten o'clock at night. He had probably slept for eight hours.
"That's good!"
Penny rubbed her eyes for a while and then yawned.
The two girls had been taking care of Roy for several hours and probably hadn't had enough sleep yet.
"You two go back to sleep. I'll go out and take this call."
Heather and Penny nodded sleepily, hugging each other and continuing to sleep.
Roy took his coat and walked out of the bedroom, answering Saltana's call.
"Hello, Sister Saltana, why did you suddenly think of calling me?"
"Can't I call you?"
Saltana's tone on the other end of the phone was relaxed, and she seemed to be in a good mood.
"Of course not, I'm overjoyed whenever Sister Saltana calls me!"
Roy sat on the sofa, picked up the remote control, and turned on the TV. He flipped through several channels, but there wasn't anything good to watch.
It was a pity that the "Night Owl" show wasn't on tonight. Roy had wanted to see what urban legends the show might reveal.
"Hmph! Always saying nice things. You took so long to answer the phone just now. I wonder what you were up to!"
"Of course, I was missing you, Sister Saltana!"
These cheesy words finally made Saltana crack up. She chuckled.
"So cheesy! Are you free right now? Let's grab a drink."
