Roy returned to the Dolphin Hotel at 2 AM.
As he entered the hotel lobby, Roy unexpectedly saw the manager, Gerald Olin.
Gerald greeted Roy.
"Mr. Black, still out for a walk this late?"
"No, I just went out to grab some late-night snacks."
As Roy walked past Gerald, he suddenly remembered the yellow-suited clown he had encountered earlier.
"By the way, Mr. Olin, I was wondering if you've ever watched a late-night talk show called 'Night Owl'?"
Gerald was a little surprised by Roy's sudden mention of such a show.
"Sorry, I've never been interested in those kinds of reality shows that don't offer much substance. Did something happen?"
This response fit the image of the black detective.
"Something did happen while I was out getting snacks."
Just as Roy was about to tell him about the yellow-suited clown, Gerald looked around vigilantly.
"Wait a moment, Mr. Black, let's talk in my office."
Gerald led Roy to the manager's office. After inviting Roy to sit down, he picked up a bottle of whiskey, intending to pour a drink.
However, before the whiskey was poured, Gerald remembered that Roy was only 18 and not of legal drinking age yet.
"Oh, I almost forgot, Mr. Black, you can't drink yet!"
Roy raised an eyebrow. He was always speechless about America's strange laws.
"It's just you and me in the office, Mr. Olin. Are you afraid I'll go out and report you after having a drink?"
This made Gerald laugh. So, he didn't hold back anymore and poured two glasses of whiskey, one for Roy and one for himself.
"Mr. Black, try this 15-year-old bourbon whiskey."
Roy didn't really know much about whiskey, but hearing Gerald say it was 15 years old, it must be pretty good.
After taking a sip, he first felt the bitterness, followed by a hint of fruitiness and caramel, and a touch of oak barrel flavor, with a strong lingering sweetness at the end.
"How is it?"
Gerald raised an eyebrow at Roy.
"It feels pretty good."
After finishing his drink, Gerald continued the previous topic.
"Mr. Black, what were you going to say just now?"
"It's quite a coincidence. I heard the host mention an urban legend on the 'Night Owl' show about a clown in a yellow suit and a top hat. After buying my late-night snacks, I ran into him on the way back!"
Hearing this, Gerald frowned.
"Wait, I think I've heard of this urban legend! Mr. Black, please wait a moment!"
Gerald pressed a button, and immediately a man in black walked into the office.
"Director, what are your orders?"
"Bring me the files numbered 168 to 188."
"Yes, sir!"
After a while, the man in black returned with a document and handed it to Gerald.
"Yellow-suited clown, yellow-suited clown... found it, this is it!"
Gerald handed over a photo. There was a large white area in the photo, as if it had been overexposed.
But from the corner of the photo, you could see a person wearing a white clown mask, exactly the yellow-suited clown Roy had encountered earlier.
"It is indeed this guy, but why is the photo like this? Was it overexposed?"
Gerald crossed his arms and looked at Roy.
"No, there was no problem with the process of taking or developing this photo. It was some kind of force that caused the photo to become like this. At the time, this clown was performing magic tricks for the photographer and his friend. The photo was taken during this process. After the photo was taken, the photographer's friend disappeared, but the photographer had no idea how he disappeared and even forgot about the clown until he saw this photo and recalled some fragmented information."
This situation was very similar to Dahlia's. She had also completely forgotten about the yellow-suited clown.
"Mr. Black, you said you've seen this yellow-suited clown?"
"Yes."
"Did he perform magic tricks for you?"
"Yes."
Gerald leaned forward, looking at Roy with a scrutinizing gaze.
"Then why do you still remember this guy?"
Not only did Roy remember this guy, but he also kicked his head like a ball.
However, Roy certainly wouldn't tell him the details. He didn't trust Gerald to that extent yet.
"That's my secret, Mr. Olin."
Gerald gave Roy a deep look, then sat back in his chair.
"Alright, Mr. Black, everyone has secrets. So why are you telling me about this?"
"Mr. Olin, I originally wanted to inquire about information regarding the yellow-suited clown from you, but it seems you know even less than I do."
Roy shrugged.
The yellow-suited clown had run away, but Roy still wanted to find him. This guy's fate chest would definitely yield good stuff.
Gerald smiled.
"Mr. Black, the FEA isn't omnipotent either. This organization has only been established for less than ten years and can only be considered a child in the American government departments. We are severely understaffed, so oversights are inevitable."
This guy made it sound good, but Roy suspected that the FEA's problem wasn't manpower, but combat power.
Even if the FEA agents were well-trained, they would definitely die if they encountered the yellow-suited clown.
"I have a good suggestion here, I wonder if Mr. Black is interested."
"Please tell me."
"I can purchase intelligence from you."
Roy raised an eyebrow, not expecting Gerald to make such a suggestion.
"I'm Saltana's informant."
"Yes, of course, I know you're Saltana's informant, but since she's been temporarily suspended, why don't you cooperate with me for a while? The reward will definitely satisfy you!"
This Gerald was definitely a master negotiator. With just a few words, he made Roy a little tempted.
However, Roy was a principled person, and there was some money he wouldn't take.
"I'll have to ask Saltana."
"Mr. Black, I don't think Saltana would object either, because she was a student I personally mentored. But it's two in the morning now, so it's probably best if we don't disturb her."
So that's what was going on. No wonder Saltana could still follow the FEA's operations after her suspension.
"Moreover, the benefit of cooperating with me is that I can provide you with some conveniences during your stay in Los Angeles."
These words truly moved Roy. He knew his own constitution; all sorts of messy things would happen wherever he went.
And if Roy decided to bring his talent to UCLA, he would have to stay in Los Angeles for at least four years.
If he could get the FEA's help, it would indeed save him a lot of trouble.
"I can cooperate with you, but I need the right to terminate the cooperation at any time, and my personal information must be kept confidential."
Gerald smiled.
"No problem!"
"Mr. Black, I wish us a happy cooperation!"
Gerald smiled, raised his glass, and clinked it with Roy's. Then, he finished the bourbon whiskey in one gulp and picked up the bottle to pour more for himself and Roy.
"Mr. Black, our cooperation can start with this strange clown."
Roy was already a little tipsy at this point, but his mind was still very clear.
"What do you want to know?"
"I want to know everything! Actually, the FEA's understanding of this yellow-suited clown is limited to just this photo. In other aspects, we can say we know nothing."
The FEA's incompetence was somewhat beyond Roy's expectations, but a being like the yellow-suited clown who could make people lose their memory and hinder electronic devices from recording was indeed quite troublesome.
So, Roy began to tell Gerald about the yellow-suited clown's abilities, while Gerald took out a pen and paper to take notes.
After listening to Roy's narration, Gerald looked at the densely filled white paper and fell into deep thought.
Roy didn't disturb Gerald's thoughts and drank his whiskey.
After a while, Gerald came back to his senses and raised a question.
"So, you're saying this guy's abilities include incredible magic, rapid movement, the ability to make people lose their memory, and immortality? Then how did you survive an encounter with him?"
"I naturally have my own ways, but as I recall it now, I've summarized some rules about the yellow-suited clown. Although this guy is powerful, he seems to be acting according to certain rules. First, he will force you to watch his performance, and you can't refuse, otherwise there will be danger. Then, after his first performance ends, you have to express praise, and then he will let you leave. If you don't praise him or ask him to do another one, the danger level of the magic will escalate until you praise the performance."
Gerald's white paper was already full, and he had to take out another sheet to continue recording.
"By the way, you just said you interrupted the yellow-suited clown's magic performance to save a lady. What method did you use at that time?"
"I offered to have a magic competition with the yellow-suited clown, and he agreed."
Gerald put down his pen and rubbed his temples. The amount of information about the yellow-suited clown was too much, and he needed to organize it properly.
"Mr. Black, thank you very much for your cooperation."
"So, what about my reward?"
"There's an approval process for intelligence fees, but don't worry, the money will be in your account by next week at the latest."
That was convenient, but Roy thought of another question.
"Does this intelligence fee require taxes to be paid?"
America's tax filing process was a terrible hassle, forcing ordinary people to seek professional accountants to complete their tax returns.
Gerald paused for a moment before answering Roy.
"Mr. Black, if you don't mind, the FEA can help you pay the taxes and then deposit the money into your account."
"Good idea! Then, Mr. Olin, I'll head back first!"
With that, Roy grabbed his late-night snacks and left the manager's office, leaving Gerald sitting in the office in deep thought.
Back in the suite, Heather and Penny were both awake. Just in time, Roy had brought back late-night snacks.
Although the snacks were a bit cold, for hungry people, even leftovers were delicious.
After eating, Roy hugged the two girls and went back to sleep, this time purely platonically.
After all, even the most fertile land couldn't withstand the constant plowing of a bull like Roy.
The next day, at the break of dawn, Roy woke up refreshed.
Seeing the two beauties beside him still asleep, Roy reached out with both hands and lightly slapped each of their luxurious rear ends, eliciting娇嗔 from the two girls.
"Time to get up, ladies! Early to bed and early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy, and wise!"
"Get lost! You exhaust us so much every time, and you still have the nerve to say that!"
Heather lifted her long, snow-white legs and gently kicked Roy, pushing him to the edge of the bed.
"Heather's right! If you want to go out and pick up girls, go ahead! Just don't disturb our rest!"
Penny couldn't help but kick Roy as well, directly knocking him off the bed.
This girl had always been obedient to Roy, but today she actually started to resist him.
There was no other way; Roy was simply too much of an animal.
Every time the two of them finished exercising with Roy, they needed at least half a day to recover their strength and could only continue exercising every other day, otherwise their bodies simply couldn't handle it.
Roy chuckled and got up to put on his clothes.
"Hey, most of the time you guys are the ones taking the initiative, okay? I'm the one being forced!"
Faced with Roy's cheeky reply, Heather and Penny picked up pillows and threw them at him.
The soft pillows naturally didn't hurt when they hit him, but Roy still dodged a few times before escaping the bedroom and closing the door.
"I'm going out for breakfast. I'll bring some food back later. If you guys wake up, just eat it yourselves."
"Got it!" ×2
Roy tidied his clothes, then grabbed his laptop and left the suite for the restaurant.
The Dolphin Hotel's restaurant had already opened, but because it was still early, there weren't many people in the breakfast area, only two or three early risers like Roy.
Roy didn't see Gerald. This guy usually showed up at the hotel restaurant around this time.
Maybe what Roy said about the yellow-suited clown last night made this guy lose his appetite for breakfast.
Roy was in a good mood. He ordered a cup of coffee, two sandwiches, and three servings of eggs and bacon.
While waiting for his food, Roy opened his laptop, wanting to see if any of his friends on MSN had any new messages.
There actually were!
The true night owl Needy had even recommended a newly released single-player game to Roy at three in the morning.
This sleep schedule was too unhealthy. Roy couldn't help but type a few words.
However, Needy was still asleep, and by the time she saw the message, it would probably be after school.
He glanced at his other friends, but there were no new messages. Roy was about to close MSN and browse some news.
At this moment, his online friend called Succubus suddenly sent a message.
Was this person online so early?
Roy clicked on the message and saw that this person had actually sent him a website link.
Could it be a Trojan virus website?
His soul from the future made Roy subconsciously think of this possibility.
But then he thought about it. This computer wasn't used for work, and it didn't store any confidential information. At worst, he could just reinstall the system, which didn't seem to have much impact.
So, Roy clicked on the website link sent by Succubus.
Peak Dahlia O'Connor (Jennifer Connelly)
Chapter 123: Succubus
Clicking on the website address brought up a minimalist webpage. Right in the center was a video, and it started playing automatically.
It was 2000, and internet speeds were very limited, so the video loading speed was rather slow.
Just then, Roy's breakfast arrived, so he decided to eat while waiting for the video to finish loading.
Halfway through his breakfast, the video finally loaded, and Roy saw a pair of magnificent headlights fill the screen.
"Pfft!"
Caught completely off guard, Roy, who was drinking coffee, sprayed it out.
People around him looked at Roy in surprise, and a waiter in the distance quickly came over to ask what was wrong.
"Sir, is everything alright?"
Roy quickly closed his laptop screen. Otherwise, he'd be mortified on the spot, and he still had to stay in this hotel for most of the month.
"Nothing, just choked on my coffee."
After seeing the waiter off, Roy immediately shut down his computer. Such a stimulating video definitely needed to be critiqued in private.
He quickly finished the rest of his breakfast, ordered breakfast for Heather and Penny, and then returned to the living room of the suite. He opened his laptop and played the video again.
To avoid disturbing Heather and Penny, Roy made sure to put on headphones.
The video loaded, and the beginning was still those dazzlingly white and magnificent headlights. He hadn't looked closely before, but now he realized they were actually wearing lampshades.
It's just that these lampshades were very economical with fabric, barely covering the essentials.
Roy felt that the headlights in the video were quite impressive, arguably not inferior to Heather's.
The video continued to play, and the woman in the frame began to adjust the lens of a digital camera on the table. During this process, Roy saw her beautiful abdominal muscles and the familiar English letters "Diablo" under the lampshade.
Was it really that Succubus netizen, Adela?
Roy saw Adela's face. She was wearing sunglasses, which made him a bit strange.
Who would wear sunglasses indoors for no reason?
However, Adela was really beautiful, in Roy's impression only slightly less so than Elizabeth and Isabella.
This kind of beauty was enough to get into Hollywood and become a movie star.
Adela in the video began to speak.
"Diablo, I really want to meet you. If you want to meet me too, come find me here!"
Adela's voice was very pleasant, like the singing of a nightingale, unforgettable.
After saying this, Adela took out a piece of paper and held it to her chest. Her address was written on it.
Seeing the address, Roy was a bit surprised because it was inside UCLA.
Could Adela be a UCLA student?
Looking closely at Adela's face, she did look quite young, seeming not much older than him.
Wasn't this a coincidence?
The video ended there. Roy exited the webpage and just happened to see Mary come online.
So, Roy decided to ask Mary about Adela.
Diablo: Mary, do you know a student named Adela?
Mary replied to Roy very quickly, it seemed she didn't have class in the morning.
Platonic Love (Mary's online name): Why are you suddenly asking about this?
Diablo: I know a netizen who said she lives on the UCLA campus.
Platonic Love: I do know a student named Adela. She's a psychology major, and something bad just happened to her recently.
Seeing this, Roy was a bit curious.
Diablo: Can you tell me what the bad thing is?
Mary replied to Roy after five minutes.
Platonic Love: Someone saw Adela being intimate with a psychology professor, so they reported her. Now Adela is facing disciplinary action.
Something like that actually happened?
However, Roy thought that Adela's style was indeed quite attention-seeking. She directly sent revealing photos to a stranger online and even wanted to meet him.
Diablo: Thanks, Mary!
Roy closed MSN and prepared to go out for some exercise.
Unexpectedly, Adela sent him another message, another webpage link.
Roy hesitated for a moment but still clicked on the webpage. It was the same simple webpage, but the video was different.
Adela in the video was in a very dimly lit room. She was still dressed scantily, making Roy a little worried that she might catch a cold.
Adela held a lit candle in her hand, looking directly at the camera.
"Mr. Diablo, would you like to see my eyes?"
Roy nodded involuntarily. Adela on the screen seemed to see Roy's action from across the screen, and a bewitching smile appeared on her lips.
"Then I'll let you see my eyes."
With that, Adela took off the sunglasses on her face, revealing a pair of golden pupils.
In an instant, Roy felt dazed. All that was left in his eyes were Adela's charming eyes. He began to lean closer to the laptop screen, as if wanting to kiss Adela on the screen.
Just as Roy was about to touch the screen, his willpower check passed, successfully bringing him back to his senses.
Although Roy's willpower was as high as 39, his resistance to female charm was relatively weak. The 39 willpower attribute had to be at least halved in this regard.
Looking at Adela with golden pupils waving at him on the screen, Roy understood that this person was one of his kind.
To run into a fellow supernatural being like this, no wonder they say professionals are rivals.
Roy suspected that what Mary had just said about Adela being intimate with the psychology professor was probably because the professor had also been charmed by Adela.
At this moment, Heather and Penny woke up and came out. Roy quickly closed his laptop.
Heather yawned.
"Roy, where's breakfast?"
"It's on the table. It should still be a bit warm. Hurry up and eat."
Penny rubbed her belly.
"I feel like I've been eating more and more lately. Will it stretch out my stomach?"
Women are always most concerned about their weight. Even though Heather and Penny's figures were already quite perfect, they still had body image anxieties.
Roy hugged both girls.
"Your current weight is already perfect. Don't even think about losing any!"
Heather rolled her eyes at Roy.
"Hmph, I know what you're thinking!"
Roy chuckled awkwardly and changed the subject.
"What are your plans for today?"
Penny picked up a sandwich and took a bite, answering Roy's question vaguely.
"Heather and I have been shopping too much these past two days, so we're going to rest at the hotel today."
So you guys know you're tired too?
Roy almost said this out loud, but thankfully he stopped himself in time.
"I'm going to UCLA today. Do you want to come with me?"
Heather shook her head, resting her fair and slender legs on Roy's lap.
At this moment, Roy noticed that Heather's feet were a bit red and swollen. It seemed that the crazy shopping spree of the past two days hadn't come without a price.
"We won't go. Penny and I won't step out of the hotel today."
"Then you guys rest well at home. I'll tell the hotel staff to send up your meals on time."
With that, Roy put on his jacket and prepared to leave, but Penny hooked her leg around his.
"Honey, haven't you forgotten something?"
Looking at Penny's watery eyes, Roy immediately realized he had made a mistake.
"My bad!"
Roy hooked his arm around Penny's neck and gave her a passionate French kiss, then gave Heather one as well.
"I'm leaving then!"
After Roy left the Dolphin Hotel, he went straight to his car, started it, and headed towards UCLA.
Arriving at the UCLA campus gate, Roy immediately dialed Mary's phone number.
The phone rang for over a minute before being answered. Mary on the other end deliberately lowered her voice.
"Mr. Black, I'm in class! Can we talk later?"
After speaking, Mary hung up directly.
What bad luck, Mary was actually in class. Roy quickly composed a text message to apologize and told her that he needed to talk to her about something.
After waiting at the UCLA gate for more than half an hour, admiring the beautiful university girls of this era, Mary finally came out of the school.
"Mr. Black, what's the urgent matter that you needed to see me for?"
"Don't call me Mr. Black. We've known each other for so long, just call me Roy."
Mary hesitated for a moment but still agreed to Roy's somewhat presumptuous suggestion.
"Okay, Roy, what do you need to talk to me about?"
Roy's expression instantly became serious.
"Mary, I want to find that Adela I told you about this morning."
"Adela? Why do you want to find her?"
"It's a very important matter. Just take me to her."
Although Mary was still a bit doubtful, she still led Roy onto the campus.
"Adela was reported and dealt with by the school because of that incident not long ago. She hasn't been attending classes lately."
"How do you know?"
"Because I audit Professor Lecter's class. He's the psychology professor who was reported to be involved with Adela."
Roy nodded, then thought of something else.
"Then wasn't Professor Lecter dealt with?"
"No, Professor Lecter is a psychology expert hired by the board of trustees at a high salary. He used to be a consultant in criminal psychology for the FBI. How could they possibly deal with him? Moreover, Professor Lecter has always had a good reputation. He's been teaching at UCLA for so many years and has never had any scandals. Many people suspect that Adela was actually the one harassing him, and someone just happened to see it."
Roy thought of Adela's golden eyes and felt that it might not be as Mary said.
After all, Adela possessed a charm ability that almost got Roy, let alone ordinary people.
However, Mary seemed to respect Professor Lecter quite a bit, so Roy didn't say much.
"We're here. This is Adela's dorm. I'll go in first and take a look."
No matter which country's university it was, it was always a bit troublesome for male students to enter female dorms, let alone Roy, who was an outsider.
But Roy grabbed Mary. It was too dangerous to just let her go in to find Adela like that.
Mary was a bit surprised by Roy's reaction, but surprisingly, she didn't shake off Roy's hand.
"Uh, Mary, I think it's better to call Adela out. Do you have her contact information?"
Mary shook her head.
"After all, I'm not a psychology major. Let's just go in and look."
As she spoke, Mary wanted to walk into the dorm, but Roy pulled her back again.
"Let's try to get a phone number first!"
Roy's repeated attempts to stop her from entering the dorm made Mary frown. She shook off Roy's hand.
"Roy, why don't you want me to go in?"
Roy really wanted to explain, but he was worried that if he did, Mary might think he was crazy.
Just then, a girl walked out of the dorm. Roy quickly called out to her.
"Excuse me, miss, can I ask you something?"
Seeing such a handsome guy call her "miss," the girl was quite happy.
However, this girl seemed a bit too eager.
"Are you asking for my phone number? I can give it to you!"
Because he still had something to ask, Roy accepted the other girl's phone number before asking her.
"Miss, it's like this, we have something we need to talk to Adela about. Is she in the dorm?"
When Roy mentioned another girl's name, this one looked a bit unhappy, but she still answered Roy.
"That person hides in her room every day, and no one has seen her come out. I don't know if she's in the dorm right now."
After speaking, the girl left.
It sounded like Adela didn't have a very good relationship with her roommates.
But thinking about it, America's morality hadn't declined to the extent of the future yet. Otherwise, Adela's ambiguous relationship with the professor might have even earned her the title of "independent woman."
Mary stood with her hands on her hips, looking at Roy.
"Roy, are you hiding something from me?"
Roy was a bit helpless and had no choice but to forcefully explain.
"The main reason I don't want you to go find Adela is for your safety!"
Roy's eyes were very sincere, which made Mary start to believe him a bit, but she still had doubts in her heart.
"Could Adela possibly harm my safety? Forget it, I'll go ask for Adela's phone number."
As a result, Mary asked several people in the dorm, but no one knew Adela's phone number.
This was a bit strange. Unless Adela didn't have a phone, why wouldn't her classmates know her phone number?
It was true that around the year 2000, mobile phones were still a bit expensive for ordinary people, but the problem was that Adela clearly had a much more expensive computer, so how could she not have a phone?
This situation made Mary also feel a bit strange, and in the end, she had no choice but to make a suggestion.
"Why don't we just go knock on Adela's dorm room door together?"
"Can I? Am I, an outsider, allowed to directly enter your female dorm?"
Mary gritted her teeth.
"Roy, I don't think you're here to do anything bad, are you?"
"Of course not, I'm a gentleman!"
Mary looked at Roy, feeling that his slightly mischievous handsome face didn't quite match the image of a gentleman, but she still prepared to take Roy in.
"Follow me, and don't let your eyes wander around once we're inside!"
Wandering around wasn't likely. It wasn't like Roy had never been in a girl's boudoir before. Female dorms didn't hold much mystery for him.
Mary quickly found the dorm room where Adela was staying.
Dorms in America were actually suites, with very complete facilities, and each student had a private room.
Just as Mary began to knock on Adela's room door, Roy suddenly smelled something strange.
Adela (Rachel Cook)
Chapter 124: Girls' Dormitory
It was a bloody smell, but mixed with a hint of sulfur, which was very strange.
Mary had knocked on the door several times, but there was no response from inside the room, which she found very odd.
"That's weird, is Adela not in her dorm?"
Just as she was wondering, Mary saw Roy take out a wire, ready to pick the lock.
"Roy, what are you doing!"
"Quiet! Mary, I smell blood. Something might have happened inside!"
"Blood? How could that be?"
Before the words even finished, Roy had easily opened the lock with his thief skills. What greeted their eyes was a large amount of blood, practically covering the entire room.
Mary, just an ordinary college student, had never seen such a bloody scene before and almost fainted. Luckily, Roy caught her in time.
"Roy, so much blood!"
"Don't be scared, Mary! I'm here. Why don't you go sit in the living room and take a breather?"
Mary obediently let Roy help her to the dorm's living room. She looked like she was drunk, her condition was definitely not right.
"Roy, what should we do?"
"It's okay, I'll call the professionals. Just sit here."
However, before making the call, Roy still wanted to take a closer look at the situation in Adela's room. He hadn't seen everything clearly just now.
Walking to the entrance of Adela's bedroom, his eyes were filled with red.
What was particularly strange was that the walls were covered in fresh blood everywhere, but there wasn't much blood on the furniture, especially the desk and chairs. Except for a bit of blood at the bottom, the rest was clean.
It was as if someone had moved the furniture into the room afterward.
On the desk was a laptop. The screen was on, suggesting someone had used it recently, and the screen showed the MSN interface.
All of this hinted at a bizarre situation.
Immediately after, Roy noticed that the blanket on the dorm bed was slightly raised, as if there was something underneath.
Could it be a body?
Roy stepped into the bedroom, careful to avoid the patches of dried blood on the floor. He lifted the blanket and saw a pile of minced meat underneath.
How could he describe it?
It was like the traditional Beijing dish "Lu Zhu," where a bunch of internal organs are chopped into tiny pieces and mixed together. It looked incredibly disgusting.
Fortunately, Roy had experienced so many incidents that his tolerance was quite high, but others might not be so strong.
The other girls in the dorm passed by and saw Mary sitting pale-faced on the sofa. Thinking something had happened, they came in to check. Then, they noticed Adela's bedroom door was open, and so...
"Ahhh—"
A top-notch soprano scream echoed throughout the entire dorm area.
Roy, who had been intently observing the minced meat on the bed to see if it was human, was startled by the scream.
He thought to himself, this isn't good. The girls outside probably think I'm the bad guy again, right?
"Wait!"
But the girl didn't listen to Roy and ran off, covering her mouth.
This girl was probably a sports student; she ran incredibly fast.
Roy remembered the several times he had been pointed at with guns by the police, so he quickly walked out of Adela's room, pulled out his phone, and contacted Gerald.
"Mr. Black, is there something I can help you with?"
"Mr. Orlin, I have a supernatural event here. You'd better bring some people over immediately!"
"Another supernatural event? It's only been a few hours, hasn't it?"
Roy was also speechless. The Yellow Clown incident had indeed happened less than 12 hours ago.
However, Adela had added Roy yesterday. If you had to say, these two incidents were actually happening simultaneously, it's just that one happened online and the other offline.
"Anyway, you need to bring people to the UCLA women's dorm as soon as possible, or I might get taken away by the LAPD!"
LAPD refers to the Los Angeles County Police Department. Although it's just the county police, backed by Los Angeles, a metropolis second only to New York, its power is still considerable.
It would be too embarrassing to be taken into the police station by the LAPD before even entering UCLA.
"Women's dorm? I understand. Stay there and don't run around. I'll call the UCLA police department."
Large universities like UCLA have their own police departments responsible for security in the surrounding areas, and there are also police officers patrolling the campus.
This meant the police would arrive very quickly.
"LAPD, drop your weapon immediately!"
Roy quickly raised his hands to show that he was holding a phone, not a gun.
Fortunately, Roy's current skin color was correct, so the police officers who rushed over didn't choose to empty their magazines.
After all, what if they emptied their magazines and found out they couldn't kill Roy? Wouldn't that be even more awkward?
"I'm the person who discovered the crime scene, not the suspect!"
The arriving police officer was a typical middle-aged white American, well-built with very thick arms.
"Whether you're a suspect or not isn't for you to decide! Now, turn around and lean against the wall. I'm going to search you!"
Roy was a bit helpless, but Mary stood up at this moment to explain for him.
"Officer, Roy is definitely not a suspect. He came here with me and we discovered the scene together. I can vouch for him!"
"Is that so?"
The white police officer hesitated, holding his gun. At this moment, the female sports student who had just gone out to report spoke up.
"Maybe the real killer deliberately brought someone back to act as a witness? I've seen that in detective dramas!"
Roy looked at the female sports student in shock. Why was this person doing sports and not writing scripts?
The white police officer suddenly understood, seemingly convinced by the female sports student. Even Mary started to feel a bit uncertain.
At this moment, the white police officer's walkie-talkie suddenly crackled. The message instructed the officer not to make any arrests but to secure the scene and wait for others to arrive.
Although the white police officer was very confused as to why the higher-ups would issue such an order, he still followed instructions and didn't make things difficult for Roy. However, he still restricted Roy's movements, not allowing him to leave the dorm.
Half an hour later, a large group of people in black suits entered the girls' dorm. Leading them was Gerald, wearing sunglasses.
This attire really made him look like the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., just with more hair.
"FEA business! Unrelated personnel, please leave!"
The FEA agents cleared out the onlookers and the white police officer, leaving only Roy and Mary, the two first discoverers of the crime scene.
"Mr. Black, you certainly know how to surprise me! I thought you had gotten into trouble in the UCLA women's dorm and were looking for an excuse for me to bail you out!"
After taking a look at the situation in Adela's bedroom, Gerald could confirm that this was a supernatural event.
Roy rolled his eyes.
"Why would you think that? Do I need to do something illegal to find girls? Right, Mary!"
Mary hadn't fully recovered from the disgusting state of Adela's room. Hearing Roy's words, she couldn't help but tense up.
"Don't drag me into this. I don't know anything."
A pitiful expression appeared on Roy's face, like a pet abandoned by its owner, finally making Mary chuckle.
Gerald's face darkened a bit, but fortunately, he was Black, so others couldn't really tell.
"Alright, Mr. Black, now is not the time for you to be flirting with this young lady. I dropped what I was doing to bring people over!"
"That thing" he was referring to was likely the Yellow Clown incident Roy had mentioned in the early hours of the morning.
Gerald signaled for his staff to take Mary downstairs to rest. This girl clearly didn't know anything.
"So, what do you know?"
"Does this count towards my information fee?"
Roy's mercenary attitude left Gerald a bit speechless.
"Yes, yes, of course it counts! Why are you so focused on money at such a young age?"
"Ha! America is a capitalist country. Did you expect me to work for you for free? Or perhaps..."
The latest and most up-to-date novels are first published on [website address]!
"Stop! Don't say any more! If you continue, I'll start losing hair!"
Gerald quickly stopped Roy from saying those words. Saying that in America was very taboo. Did anyone really believe this country had freedom of speech?
After a little joke, Roy began to explain the detailed process of the incident.
Because Roy hadn't actually done anything in this incident, just picked a lock, there was nothing he needed to avoid mentioning.
"Are you saying that a netizen suddenly added you as a friend, then said they wanted to meet you and sent you two videos?"
"Yes, that netizen claimed to be Adela. The address is here, but I'm not sure if she's really that Adela."
"This is easy. I can access UCLA's student files."
Having official power was convenient. With just one sentence from Gerald, the agents under his command went to the university to retrieve Adela's file.
"Can we still find those videos you mentioned? We can compare them."
"I saw that the laptop in Adela's dorm was on. Maybe we can use her computer to go online and take a look."
Gerald signaled for his computer experts to operate Adela's computer, then picked up Adela's student file.
"Is this the person?"
The girl in the student ID photo looked very plain and didn't have the golden pupils like in the video, but Roy could still confirm that she was the Adela from the video.
"It's definitely this face, but there's a big difference in her aura, and the Adela I saw in the video had golden pupils."
"Golden pupils?"
Hearing this, Gerald frowned.
Golden pupils are generally a symbol of demons. When Roy and Elizabeth transform or use their demonic abilities, their pupils also turn golden.
At this moment, the agent who had gone to operate Adela's computer returned.
"Director, those two website addresses can no longer be opened. I tried to recover the webpages, but I can't watch the videos. Also, there's one more thing. We found that the last time this computer was used was just two hours ago, which was when the last website address was sent."
"Is that so? Take that laptop back as evidence and carefully investigate the hard drive. There might be something we missed."
"Yes, Director."
The agent left with the laptop, and the other agents began to carefully investigate Adela's room, including the pile of minced meat on the bed.
After preliminary investigation and analysis, it was found that the blood stains had been dry for at least a day, and although the pile of minced meat on the bed looked fresh, it had also been there for at least a day, with many tissues completely stuck together.
"Strange, could Adela already be dead?"
The situation at the scene was so bizarre that Gerald found it hard to determine what was going on.
"No, Adela definitely isn't dead! I suspect that pile of minced meat is someone else's body!"
Roy still remembered the photo Adela sent him last night. In the photo, Adela had written his online name on her body with lipstick. That photo definitely couldn't be fake.
Moreover, Adela had used her laptop just two hours ago to send Roy the second video. The current version of MSN doesn't have a scheduled message sending function, so it must have been her operating it.
But if the minced meat wasn't Adela's, then who could it belong to?
"Let's just do a DNA test first."
Gerald could only instruct his subordinates to collect those minced meat tissues and dried blood first, preparing to take them back to FEA headquarters for further investigation.
The next step was to find witnesses and record the trivial details from the people nearby. This kind of work didn't require Gerald and Roy, so the two of them left the girls' dorm.
"Mr. Black, what do you think this Adela is?"
Having almost been charmed when he saw the second video, Roy had a rough idea of what Adela was.
"I think Adela might be possessed by a succubus."
"A succubus?"
As the director of the Los Angeles FEA branch, it was impossible for Gerald not to know what a succubus was.
"Mr. Orlin, if it really is a succubus, then I probably wasn't the only one being targeted. Perhaps you could investigate the missing person cases around UCLA, specifically looking for young people who use the internet. Maybe we can find some clues."
This suggestion was quite constructive, and Gerald nodded in agreement.
"I will arrange that! Mr. Black, thank you very much for your cooperation! I think our collaboration has gotten off to a good start."
"Is that so? Actually, I'm more concerned about when my information fee will arrive. By the way, I also wanted to ask when Sultana will be reinstated. I still prefer working with young and beautiful female agents."
Gerald smiled, but his smile was quite frightening, so it was better when he didn't smile.
"Who wouldn't want to work with young and beautiful female agents? However, Sultana did cause the bureau significant losses in the Freddy incident. She might not be reinstated for another two months, and she might even be demoted when she returns. But don't worry, I will transfer Sultana to Los Angeles."
Hearing this, Roy's eyes lit up. Didn't this mean he would be able to see Sultana often in the second half of the year?
However, Jennifer and Niddy would also be coming to UCLA in the second half of the year, plus Heather and Penny. This was going to be a huge challenge for Roy's time management skills.
"I understand! Mr. Orlin, if there's nothing else, I'll head back first."
"Mr. Black, please keep your phone on. I'll contact you if there are any new developments."
Roy waved at Gerald, then walked towards Mary, who was waiting for him not far away.
"Roy, who was that fierce-looking African American man?"
The adjective "fierce-looking" made Roy almost lose it.
"He's the director of an official organization, not a bad guy."
"Oh, I see..."
Mary's face was full of worry. She probably hadn't recovered from the bloody scene yet.
Looking at Mary's expression, Roy made a suggestion.
"Mary, how about we go grab a cup of coffee? My treat."
Mary gave a forced smile.
"Okay!"
Succubus still
