Like tossing aside a broken doll, Roy dusted off his hands and returned to the kitchen.
He was quite pleased that dealing with the knight hadn't resulted in too much oil spillage.
Reeva cautiously poked Penny and asked, "Penny, who exactly is your friend?"
"Oh, him? He's my hero!"
Looking at Penny's blissful expression, Reeva was speechless. Was this really the time for a lovey-dovey moment?
Just as she was about to ask more, a strange noise suddenly came from the corner of the kitchen.
The people in the kitchen looked towards the sound and saw a fat crocodile puppet crawling out of a ventilation duct, heading straight for the closest blonde boy.
However, Roy was faster. He flew out a kick, sending the crocodile crashing into the wall, then grabbed its tail and dragged it out of the kitchen.
The subsequent execution was rather bloody, and he didn't want to do it in the kitchen and spoil everyone's appetite for drinks and food.
The crocodile puppet struggled fiercely but couldn't break free from Roy's grasp. He dragged it into the main hall and snapped its upper and lower jaws.
Since Roy was riding on the crocodile's back, no termination oil sprayed onto him this time either.
Roy was getting increasingly skilled at dealing with these puppets, and he didn't even get himself dirty anymore.
He glanced at Willie, who was still playing the guitar on stage, and then returned to the kitchen.
Having witnessed Roy effortlessly take down two killer puppets, Reeva and her friends were completely hyped.
The killer puppets in Willie's Wonderland had been a nightmare for the town's residents for years, to the point where some had chosen to cooperate with Willie.
Reeva and her group were among those who didn't want to go along with Willie. They had all lost friends to him, and at this moment, they were as happy as if it were a holiday.
Everyone grabbed their beers and enthusiastically clinked glasses, completely ignoring the surrounding chaos.
Such joyful moments are always bound to be interrupted.
Suddenly, a tongue shot in from outside, wrapped around Reeva's neck, and tried to pull her out.
Penny, already a little tipsy, swiftly drew the cursed dagger and easily severed the tongue.
Immediately after, Reeva and her companions grabbed the severed tongue and dragged the creature responsible for the sneak attack inside.
It turned out the tongue belonged to an ugly chameleon puppet.
This chameleon puppet probably hadn't expected Reeva and her friends to be so bold. Surrounded by a group of people, it seemed somewhat at a loss.
"Heh! Let me at 'em!"
Penny hiccuped, picked up the cursed dagger, and stabbed it into the chameleon puppet. Then, Heather also plunged her cursed dagger into it.
This seemed to be a signal, as Reeva and her friends also began to settle old scores and get revenge for past wrongs.
After a round of gang beating, the chameleon puppet was actually beaten to death.
At this point, the fear in the hearts of Penny, Reeva, and the other young people completely vanished.
Fueled by alcohol, some of them even considered directly taking down the mastermind, Willie, which was quite reckless.
However, when the weasel Willie appeared at the kitchen door, accompanied by an elf puppet and a turtle puppet, the group's courage wavered.
Their previous cheers and laughter disappeared.
The weasel Willie's sharp gaze swept over Roy. He knew this boy was the one who had killed several of his subordinates.
"Kid, you're pretty good. I'm going to turn you into a new puppet to replace my fallen minions!"
Bang!
The response to the weasel Willie was a .44 Magnum bullet from a Smith & Wesson M629 revolver.
"You talk way too much!"
The weasel Willie's head instantly had a huge hole blown in it. An ordinary killer puppet would have died from this level of damage, but this one didn't.
The weasel Willie merely took a step back and then ordered his last two remaining minions, the elf puppet and the turtle puppet, to attack Roy.
However, what this guy hadn't expected was that after Roy pulled out his gun, the others also regained some of their courage.
Facing the two charging killer puppets, Penny and Heather each led a group to meet them head-on.
Apart from being quite durable, these killer puppets' combat power was actually only slightly stronger than that of an ordinary person. Two adults, if they overcame their fear, could defeat them.
So, most of the time, the killer puppets relied on surprise attacks to win.
Now, facing the united front of Penny and Heather and their allies, they were naturally overwhelmed in the group fight. What's more, the two girls had cursed daggers in their hands.
The power of these daggers was not small, especially against dark creatures like killer puppets, which were a combination of flesh and machinery.
Soon, the elf puppet and the turtle puppet were collectively taken down by the group, and the weasel Willie was left all alone.
Penny and Heather were somewhat bloodthirsty and wanted to attack Willie, but Roy stopped them.
"Back away, you're no match for him!"
The weasel Willie was a different kind of killer puppet. Through the Eyes of Judgment, Roy could see that the evil on this guy was so intense it was practically glowing purple, enough to show just how much evil he had committed.
However, compared to Roy, whose base stats were over thirty, he was still a bit lacking.
Seeing that Roy hadn't drawn his gun, the weasel Willie even struck a boxing pose, wanting to spar with him.
This scene amused Roy. This guy actually wanted to box with him.
So, Roy also adopted a very relaxed boxing stance and walked over.
Seeing this, Reeva, who had regained her composure, couldn't help but feel a little worried.
"Penny, is your boyfriend going to be okay?"
"Hehe, of course! Roy is a boxer! Boxing is what he's best at! He has a nickname: the Grim Reaper!"
There are no wrong nicknames, only wrongly given names.
Roy having such a powerful nickname reassured Reeva and her friends.
The weasel Willie at the kitchen door was still unaware that his Grim Reaper was approaching him. Seeing Roy's loose stance, he immediately took a step forward and launched an attack.
This guy might have practiced boxing for a few years when he was alive. His punching movements and footwork were still somewhat decent, but he was facing a professional boxer.
So, unsurprisingly, all of the weasel Willie's combination punches missed.
Taken aback, the weasel Willie immediately wanted to retreat and reorganize his defense, but Roy had already used a V-step feint to close the distance.
Immediately following that was a straight punch that broke through the weasel Willie's guard, followed by an uppercut!
This punch sent the weasel Willie's body flying half a meter into the air, letting him experience what it felt like to fly.
Roy stretched his neck. He was also getting a little pumped up now.
After all, there weren't many good sparring partners like the weasel Willie in the boxing ring. Roy was even afraid to punch with his full strength, worried about accidentally killing him.
The weasel Willie, now on the ground, had a clearer look in his eyes. He had realized he was no match.
"You... you better not come any closer!"
Watching Roy approach with clenched fists, the weasel Willie let out a miserable cry. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought he was the victim.
Finally, after releasing a large amount of fear, the weasel Willie scrambled to get away from Roy.
"Trying to run?"
Roy grabbed the weasel Willie's tail, but it came right off. It was actually an attachment?
What the fuck!
Disgustedly dropping the tail attachment, Roy saw the weasel Willie escape to the center of the restaurant.
"Damn you! You forced me to do this!"
That's just how villains think. Even though the weasel Willie had attacked first, now it was as if Roy was bullying them.
Roy spat on the ground.
"Use whatever tricks you have left!"
A bright red pentagram suddenly appeared beneath the weasel Willie's feet. The Key of Solomon told Roy that this was a magic circle for summoning demons.
"Originally, I wanted to accumulate enough souls to destroy this town all at once, but since you insist on seeking death, I can only use this to deal with you first!"
Sure enough, making a deal with this kind of demon would never have a good ending.
The people in town thought that by sending outsiders in to be killed by Willie, Willie wouldn't attack them, but in reality, he was just gathering strength to wipe out the entire town.
The result of trying to appease evil is always a reckoning later.
"Feel true fear!"
The weasel Willie roared to the sky, and the entire restaurant began to shake violently, as if something was about to explode.
Roy felt something was wrong and immediately took out Mason's digital camera to take a look. Sure enough, he saw a large number of souls flying around the weasel Willie.
These were probably all the people Willie had killed over the decades. Their souls were bound to Willie, becoming his power.
The latest and fastest novels are first published here!
It had to be said, this was too tragic.
The weasel Willie sucked all the wronged souls in the air into his body. His body began to expand rapidly, and his head soon hit the ceiling. His body grew several times larger.
The half of his head that Roy had blown off with the M629 also grew new flesh.
Now, you could easily call this Willie "Brown Bear Willie."
"Hahaha! Witness true power!"
Showing off his sharp claws, which were thirty centimeters long, Willie was extremely smug.
In contrast, Reeva and her friends in the distance were completely terrified. The black guy with the least courage had even wet his pants.
Only Heather and Penny still believed in Roy and remained very calm.
"Is that so?"
Roy put away the digital camera and took out the chainsaw sword from his inventory.
Given Willie's transformation, it didn't seem too strange that Roy suddenly had something else in his hand.
Roy hadn't used the Angel's Blood he obtained from Isabella yet, mainly because he didn't have enough Justice Points.
However, after taking down Willie's subordinates, he had gained quite a few Justice Points.
This also indirectly showed that Willie and his gang were truly heinous!
Now, Roy was going to try the effects of the Angel's Blood and see how it compared to the Son of the Devil.
Pointing the chainsaw sword at Willie, Roy glanced at his reserve of Justice Points.
"About a minute, should be enough."
"You!"
Willie was surprised by Roy's calmness and felt a vague sense of unease. Then, he saw Roy begin to transform.
Roy's hair instantly turned snow-white, his pupils turned silver, strange white patterns appeared on his exposed skin, then a pair of slender, glowing wings appeared on his back, and finally, he stood on a pure white halo.
"An angel?"
This appearance instantly made everyone else think of the word "angel." Courage suddenly welled up from the bottom of their hearts, making Reeva and her friends want to go all out against Willie.
Penny's expression became a bit strange. Unlike the others, she had personally witnessed Roy's Son of the Devil form during the Southern Demon incident. Now, she was seeing Roy's Angel's Blood form.
Could one person be both a demon and an angel at the same time?
In any case, Penny had certainly gained some new knowledge today.
Roy felt the Angel's Blood form. This form, unlike the Son of the Devil form, didn't provide temporary stat boosts and didn't seem to be able to change the weapon's form.
However, it could directly convert Justice Points into holy light energy for combat and could also generate a group-wide buffing aura.
That was the pure white halo under Roy's feet. It was an aura of courage that could allow his companions to resist fear to a certain extent and enhance their strength.
That's why Reeva and her friends suddenly had a surge of courage and wanted to go all out against Willie.
It seemed that the Angel's Blood form was mainly about energy manipulation and buffing, quite different from the Son of the Devil's physical enhancement and weapon enhancement.
Willie, who had originally felt confident of victory, was now completely desperate. Facing Roy, who exuded an aura of holiness, he couldn't even muster the will to resist.
After all, this guy was just a human forcibly transformed into an evil spirit through a cult ritual, while Roy's Angel's Blood came from the Archangel Michael.
"Are you ready to face judgment?"
Roy raised the chainsaw sword high. The dark gothic weapon also became holy in the holy light.
"No—"
A flash of white light, and Willie was split in two. Immediately after, pure white flames ignited the creature, burning him to ashes.
*[Ding! Obtained Willie's Fate Treasure Chest! Open it?]*
Roy instantly reverted from the Angel's Blood state. He had said a minute, but he had dealt with Willie in less than half a minute. This was entirely due to the Angel's Blood form's powerful suppression of dark creatures.
If it had been the Son of the Devil form, Roy might have wasted another minute or two, first beating Willie into a pulp with his fists, and then finely mincing him with the Hellfire Chainsaw Sword.
After the battle ended, Reeva and her friends walked over and looked at the completely burned ashes on the ground, somewhat in disbelief.
"Is it... over?"
"Mhm! Willie is dead beyond dead, and he can never be resurrected."
The Fate Treasure Chest was in hand, and Willie wasn't a meme-type villain like Freddy.
Roy remembered something and then looked at Penny with an apologetic gaze.
"Sorry, Penny, I said I'd let you have your revenge, but I wasn't paying attention and just took Willie out directly."
A sweet smile appeared on Penny's face.
"It's okay, Roy! I just personally took down two killer puppets, and it feels amazing!"
"Yeah, yeah, I took down a killer puppet too!"
Reeva and her friends also began to celebrate. Having their childhood nightmare eliminated made them very happy.
But at this moment, the restaurant door was opened, and the restaurant owner Terry, the repair shop owner Wilson, and an older female police chief holding a double-barreled shotgun appeared at the entrance.
These people must have been attracted by the commotion just now.
"You... what have you all done!"
The female police chief looked at the messy restaurant and the killer puppet corpses all over the floor in shock.
Reeva happily walked towards the female police chief.
"Mother, Mr. Roy Black has killed the demon Willie! We are finally free!"
It turned out the female police chief was Reeva's mother, although Reeva clearly had black ancestry while the police chief was white.
Unless the police chief had married a black man, Reeva must have been adopted.
Unexpectedly, the female police chief didn't seem too happy after hearing Reeva's words.
"Get behind me, and you others too!"
Angel form looks something like this
Chapter 114: The Dolphin Hotel
"Mother, why...?"
Riva looked at the female police chief's actions in astonishment. She noticed that her mother was still pointing the double-barreled shotgun at Roy, as if he were an enemy.
"What do you know! This guy knows the town's secret, we can't let him live! Only this way can all the secrets be buried!"
Riva opened her mouth, wanting to tell her mother, "You can't even handle Willy, where do you get the courage to deal with the person who took down Willy?"
Terry, the restaurant owner, who was standing nearby, also tried to persuade Riva.
"Riva, they're just outsiders. Even if they die here, no one will ever know."
The female police chief sneered at Roy.
"Young man, thank you very much for helping us solve this trouble. After you die, I will definitely choose a scenic spot to bury you and your girlfriend!"
Roy shrugged, looking completely relaxed.
"I once heard a saying, 'When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.' I used to scoff at that, but I never thought I'd see such a clear example today."
Due to their long-term dealings with Willy, these people's conscience had completely disappeared.
Perhaps in the beginning, these people still felt guilty, but now they only wanted to kill and silence to cover up the truth.
"Say whatever you want! For this town, and for my family, no one will stop me!"
The female police chief had completely fallen into the abyss. Riva, standing beside her, looked at her as if she had seen a ghost, as if she was seeing her for the first time.
"No, Mother, you can't do this!"
Riva grabbed the female police chief, trying to stop her from continuing her evil deeds, but she was ruthlessly pushed to the ground by the police chief.
In that instant, Roy quickly drew his Smith & Wesson M625 revolver, pulled the trigger, and fired three shots in quick succession.
Bang—
The three gunshots completely overlapped!
By the time Roy stylishly blew away the gunpowder smoke from the barrel, the female police chief, Terry, and Wilson had all fallen to the ground, each with a bloody hole in their forehead.
"Then I'm sorry, but I'm also doing this for my women. I'm sure you can understand, right?"
At this moment, the night was about to end. The rising sun pierced through the darkness, and the first rays of dawn shone on Roy, making him look as flawless as Apollo in Greek mythology.
Seeing this scene, Heather and Penny immediately...
Having eliminated three deeply sinful individuals, Roy gained a large amount of Justice Points. The combined evil of these three was almost as much as Willy's.
"Sorry, Riva, but I think the three of them need to be held responsible for all the people who died tragically in Willy's Wonderland over the years."
Roy thought Riva was a pretty good girl, so he offered her some comfort.
Riva wiped away her tears, her expression hardening. She was indeed a very nice girl.
"You're right, they should be held responsible! Mr. Black, if only you had come a few years earlier!"
A few years earlier, he hadn't even transmigrated yet!
The Willy's Wonderland incident was more or less over. Before leaving, Penny and Riva shared one last hug.
"Riva, what will you do now?"
Riva smiled.
"After dealing with the bodies in Willy's Wonderland, I'll leave this town and start a new life."
Roy walked over and said,
"Riva, don't go into Willy's Wonderland. I've already called professionals to come and clean... handle things. You're not professionals, I'm afraid something might happen!"
The professionals he was referring to were naturally the FEA. Roy had just spoken to Saltana on the phone. Although she was currently suspended, she still had connections with her colleagues.
Making a call to have the FEA come and deal with the aftermath of Willy's Wonderland was relatively easy.
Riva looked at Roy gratefully. Although he had killed her foster mother, she couldn't bring herself to hate him.
"Thank you, Mr. Black! I hope you and Penny can be happy forever!"
"I also hope you can find the life you want."
Arriving at Wilson's Auto Repair Shop, Roy found that his Chevrolet Camaro had been repaired.
He probably intended to sell this car himself.
Over the years, the people who died at Willy's Wonderland should have left behind cars or some personal belongings. There were considerable profits to be made from this, which was why the female police chief, Terry, and Wilson were so eager.
Roy stepped on the gas, and the Chevrolet Camaro sped onto the highway.
Although they hadn't slept all night, Heather and Penny both seemed very excited. The adventure at Willy's Wonderland had felt very stimulating to them.
However, the journey ahead wasn't very exciting and was actually quite boring.
As a result, after Heather and Penny's excitement faded, the fatigue from not sleeping all night caught up to them, and the two started sleeping in each other's arms in the back seat.
With a physique of 45, Roy wasn't greatly affected by staying up all night, so he decided to drive straight to Los Angeles before resting.
The closer they got to the West Coast, the more traffic there was on the highway.
By the time they reached the outskirts of Los Angeles, it was completely dark.
Roy reached out and patted Heather's thigh.
"Wake up, we're in Los Angeles!"
"Hmm? Are we there already?"
Roy hadn't been to Los Angeles in either of his lives, and neither had Penny.
The only one in the car who had been to Los Angeles was Heather, who had grown up there.
This was also why Roy wanted to bring Heather along; having her was like having a tour guide.
"Yes, we've arrived at the outskirts of Los Angeles. I need you to give me directions now."
It was currently rush hour, and the highways outside Los Angeles were full of cars. The roads here were too complicated, and it was easy to take the wrong turn without someone familiar with the area giving directions.
"Okay, where are we going?"
"Hmm—UCLA booked a hotel for us, the Dolphin Hotel on Santa Monica Beach. Do you know where that is?"
"The Dolphin Hotel? Ha! Of course, I know it. There's a famous haunted room there, 1408! Do you know about that?"
Some images flashed through Roy's memory: the movie "1408," adapted from Stephen King's famous horror novel, which tells the story of a terrifying, demon-dominated hotel room where no one could last an hour.
Horror movies adapted from Stephen King's horror novels are all very classic, and "1408" is especially so. Even with Roy's current strength, he wasn't sure if he could get out of that room.
UCLA actually booked a room for him in that kind of hotel?
After double-checking the letter sent by Alan Berg, Roy confirmed that the room booked for him was 1208. He could finally relax.
"Just give me directions."
"We're currently in the southern part of Los Angeles. We need to cross most of the city to reach the northwest beach."
"Which route is the fastest?"
"At this time of day, the fastest route is definitely the环城 (Huánchéng - ring road)!"
Roy took a good look at the scenery along the way in Los Angeles, because in just over twenty years, this place would be burned down by a big fire.
After driving around most of the city, Roy finally arrived at the Dolphin Hotel on Santa Monica Beach.
This hotel was famous nationwide for its notorious Room 1408. Even during the off-season, the daily traffic was very high.
If Roy had come to stay at the hotel directly tonight, he might not have even gotten a room.
"Alan Berg booked a room for me. The room number is 1208."
Roy was checking in at the front desk.
"Is it Mr. Roy Black?"
"Yes."
"I need to contact Mr. Alan Berg. Please wait a moment."
The receptionist picked up the phone and dialed a number. Feeling a bit bored, Roy began to look around the hotel environment.
This was a four-star hotel. Although its luxury couldn't compare to a five-star hotel, it was still quite good.
Suddenly, Roy saw a familiar-looking black man walk through the lobby.
There weren't many black people Roy would find familiar, as most black faces looked similar to him.
Taking a closer look, wasn't that Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
However, this version of Nick Fury had hair and hadn't lost an eye.
The newest and fastest novels are first published on [website address]!
Roy asked one of the front desk staff.
"Excuse me, who is that gentleman?"
"You mean him? He's our manager, Mr. Gerald Olin."
Roy remembered. There was indeed a black manager supporting character in "1408." However, he had watched the movie a long time ago, before the Marvel movies had even started filming, so Roy hadn't noticed Samuel L. Jackson in the role.
This was quite a small surprise.
At this moment, the front desk staff had finished confirming the booking over the phone and began the next steps of the check-in process.
"Mr. Black, we have confirmed your reservation. How many people are in your party?"
"Three."
Roy took out the driver's licenses of the three of them for registration. Soon, a bellhop helped the three of them take their luggage into the elevator.
In the elevator, Roy keenly noticed that this hotel didn't have a 13th floor, as if it was avoiding the number 13.
Just like many hotels or apartments in Dongda don't have a 4th floor, 13 also has a special meaning in Christian culture, and many Christians instinctively avoid the number 13.
Interestingly, the digits in 1408 add up to 13, which might also be a hint in the movie.
Just as he was thinking about this, the elevator stopped on the 12th floor.
The bellhop helped carry the luggage to Room 1208, and Roy gave him a $20 tip.
Roy hadn't been used to the tipping culture in America when he first transmigrated, but he was quite accustomed to it now.
Alan Berg had booked a suite for Roy. There was a living room outside, a bedroom inside, and a bathroom with a huge bathtub.
Roy was inevitably a bit tired after driving all day and leaned back on the sofa, not wanting to get up.
Heather and Penny were putting away their luggage. They would be staying here for at least a week, so they needed to arrange their things properly.
Roy didn't disturb them and casually turned on the TV.
The TV happened to be showing a late-night talk show called "Night Owls." The host was interviewing a man dressed as a priest, who claimed to be an exorcist.
The two girls nearby were chatting excitedly, and their topic unknowingly drifted to 1408.
"Roy, should we go take a look at Room 1408?"
Heather was really getting a bit carried away. Maybe it was because she had experienced a lot of dangerous things with Roy, and she was increasingly enjoying the thrill.
This was a very dangerous phenomenon, and Roy felt it was necessary to remind Heather, otherwise, it might lead to big trouble in the future.
"Heather, I'm not invincible either. There are still many beings in this world that can defeat me. You need to have a sense of awe for those mysterious things!"
Roy's serious attitude made Heather's smile fade a bit, but she still nodded obediently.
Seeing that the atmosphere was becoming a bit awkward, Penny quickly changed the subject.
"Roy, we prepared a surprise for you!"
Hearing this, Roy became interested.
"What surprise?"
"You'll find out soon!"
With that, the two girls ran into the bathroom with something and closed the door.
Roy smiled and then focused his attention on the TV show.
The host of "Night Owls," Jack, was using various methods to try and trick Mace, the self-proclaimed exorcist priest.
This middle-aged priest named Mace skillfully used various rhetorical techniques, making Roy feel like he was a charlatan.
Roy had already met a real exorcist during the Elm Street incident. His aura was completely different from this guy's. This guy seemed more like one of those fake priests who swindle money on the streets.
But thinking about it, if he were truly a member of the clergy with exorcism abilities, he wouldn't appear on a TV show.
This show probably invited this fake priest more for the gimmick.
Just as he was thinking this, the lights in the living room suddenly went out.
Roy looked towards the bathroom and saw two beautiful and sexy bunny girls walk out.
One in black and one in red, with swaying bunny ears, snow-white... headlights, high-cut tight-fitting leatherette outfits, and classic fishnet stockings.
Seeing this scene, Roy felt the fatigue from driving all day instantly disappear.
"Wow! This is indeed a very 'huge' surprise!"
Roy exclaimed in admiration.
Penny spoke first.
"Darling, do you like it?"
"I couldn't like it more! Whose idea was this?"
Heather replied,
"Of course, it was Penny's idea!"
As expected, Penny had more tricks up her sleeve. Her previous line of work had exposed her to too many... activities.
The other girls around Roy couldn't compare to Penny in this regard, not even Elizabeth could necessarily beat her.
Penny leaned in from the other side and gently breathed into Roy's ear.
"Honey, you drove all day today. Can your body still hold up?"
This was a bit of an underestimate of Roy's 45 points in physique. Even if he wasn't at full strength right now, he definitely wouldn't lose.
"Hehe, you can try!"
"Roy, then I'm coming for you!"
With that, Heather immediately transformed into a female knight.
At this point, no one was paying attention to the reality show on TV anymore.
Chapter 115 UCLA
The next day, Roy reluctantly had to visit UCLA by himself.
The two girls simply couldn't get up in the morning, and since Roy had already scheduled a meeting with Alan Berg, there was no other way.
UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) is a public university, known as a "Public Ivy."
The campus is located in the northwest of Los Angeles, very close to Santa Monica College and West Hollywood, so the environment is quite nice.
By the way, the San Fernando Valley is just north of the university, about thirty-odd kilometers away.
Alan Berg himself waited for Roy at the entrance of UCLA, which was quite a show of respect.
However, this time Alan had learned his lesson and didn't bring a towering black man. Instead, he brought a short-haired beauty, which could be considered catering to Roy's tastes.
Wait a minute, this short-haired beauty looks familiar!
Demi Moore?
"Oh, Mr. Blake, you've finally arrived!"
Alan gave Roy an enthusiastic hug first. Roy awkwardly hugged him back, then reached out to shake hands with the short-haired beauty.
\[Discovered special character Mary Hill, you can absorb the power of fate to obtain rewards!]
"And this is?"
Alan knew he had brought the right person this time just by looking at Roy's expression.
"Mary Hill, currently a sophomore in the UCLA School of Law. She heard your name and wanted to meet you."
Roy raised an eyebrow and stared directly at Mary Hill.
There's no mistake, this is definitely a young Demi Moore!
If Roy remembered correctly, this look should be from the movie Ghost.
As a romantic ghost movie that grossed over $500 million in 1990, Ghost has always been considered the second greatest love story film after Titanic, so Roy had a deep impression of Demi Moore's appearance in the movie.
So, is Ghost considered a horror movie too?
Roy's burning gaze seemed to make Mary a little embarrassed, and she coughed subconsciously.
The cough woke Roy up, and he quickly looked away, realizing his gaze had been a bit rude.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Hill!"
"The pleasure is mine, Mr. Blake!"
Roy's excellent appearance worked in his favor. If an average-looking man had looked at Mary like that, she would definitely have been a bit disgusted.
But because Roy looked at Mary like that, she only felt proud of her looks.
Alan nudged Roy's arm, interrupting his gaze with Mary.
"Mr. Blake, have you gained weight?"
"Yes, I just reached 91 kilograms at the end of last month."
This is already the weight of a heavyweight boxer. Some tall boxers even gain over 100 kilograms.
But Roy doesn't need to. Maintaining this weight with his current height and stats is enough; gaining more weight wouldn't look as good.
Alan felt Roy's arm muscles, and his mouth almost watered, making Roy feel quite uncomfortable.
"Absolutely perfect muscle definition, just like Hercules!"
Hercules is the greatest hero in Greek mythology, the son of Zeus and Alcmene, possessing unparalleled strength. He completed 12 impossible tasks, rescued Prometheus, the fire-bringer, and finally ascended to Olympus to become the god of strength after his death.
"Um, do we have to chat here?"
Alan's actions made Roy quite embarrassed. Plus, it was during school hours, and teachers and students passing by were looking at them strangely.
"Oh, don't get me wrong! I'm just marveling at your physical talent!"
Saying that, Alan led Roy to tour the UCLA campus. Having Mary by his side made it less boring.
UCLA's campus is so large, covering 1.7 square kilometers, that a walking tour could take a whole day. So, after showing Roy around a bit, Alan took him to the boxing gym.
Since classes were still in session, there weren't many people in the boxing gym, just a few staff members cleaning up, which was perfect for a conversation.
"Mr. Blake, what do you think of UCLA?"
"It's not bad. The environment is beautiful, the climate is pleasant, and I quite like it here."
Los Angeles has a typical Mediterranean climate, with pleasant temperatures year-round, making it very comfortable.
Plus, with Hollywood nearby, it's quite attractive to Roy.
"So, would you like to come here for university?"
Alan directly stated his purpose. After all, they had been in contact for a month or two, and dragging it out any longer wouldn't make much sense.
If they couldn't reach an agreement this time, UCLA would probably give up.
Realizing this, Roy also started to lay out his bottom line.
"My girlfriend from high school also wants to bring her talent to UCLA. I wonder if UCLA can provide some assistance."
Hearing this, Mary was a bit shocked. She seemed unable to accept that Roy, who had just been flirting with her, would suddenly say he had a girlfriend.
Alan frowned slightly. He was somewhat prepared for this, but he still had to offer a word of advice.
"Mr. Blake, there are many good girls in this world. Ms. Hill, for example, is quite nice. Do you really have to bring your high school girlfriend?"
Roy smiled and glanced at Mary, firmly replying to Alan.
"Mr. Berg, I'm a person who values the past and doesn't easily abandon people or things."
This statement shocked Mary again. She found it hard to imagine the words "womanizer" and "loyal" appearing in the same person.
Alan scratched his head, still prepared to accept Roy's conditions.
"Are they the two girls I saw at the Oak High School boxing gym? Theoretically, I can help you sort it out, but their grades can't be too bad!"
"Don't worry about that. One of them is a straight-A student who can get a perfect score on the SAT, and the other can at least pass. They definitely won't make things difficult for you."
Hearing this, Alan breathed a sigh of relief, but Mary was even more shocked because she heard Roy say his girlfriends are two.
If this girl knew that Roy had two other girlfriends besides these two high schoolers, one wonders what she would think.
Would she admire Roy's good health?
"However—"
Alan suddenly changed the topic, implying there was a catch.
"The board of trustees still has some doubts about your abilities. After all, you've only participated in a small tournament around Austin before. I need you to achieve better results to convince them."
Alan's words made some sense. Strength is best shown by the caliber of the opponent.
Roy frowned slightly.
"So?"
"There happens to be an amateur heavyweight boxing match in Los Angeles these days. I can help you register. If you can win the championship, the conditions will be easier to negotiate."
"Okay!"
After agreeing with Alan, Roy received the information about the high school heavyweight boxing competition being held in Los Angeles.
The boxing match was called the Santa Monica Cup Amateur Boxing Tournament. As the name suggests, the competition was held on Santa Monica Beach.
The Santa Monica Cup was not an officially organized competition but was privately sponsored by a wealthy boxing enthusiast. However, because of the generous prize money, with a champion's purse of $100,000, it attracted many talented high school boxers from around California.
But because it was a privately run boxing match, the schedule wasn't as relaxed as a normal boxing tournament. Basically, all the matches had to be completed in less than a month.
For out-of-towners like Roy, he would first have to fight three qualifying matches, then two preliminary matches, before entering the elimination rounds.
After five elimination rounds, he could finally lift the trophy. That's a total of ten matches in less than a month, which is definitely a huge challenge.
But Roy was fearless. Ten matches? He could finish them all in a day.
"Great! Mr. Blake, I'll help you with the registration, but what about accommodation...?"
Alan had only booked a hotel room for Roy for one day. After all, if they couldn't reach an agreement, Roy would just leave, so there was no need to keep the room.
"I'll take care of the accommodation."
Roy had originally planned to spend a week in Los Angeles anyway. Now he would just be staying for another three weeks. The money in his inventory would finally come in handy.
The problem of taking leave from school was a bit tricky. Perhaps he could discuss it with the principal of Oak High School and extend his vacation by "playing well" in the tournament, for example, by having the name of Oak High School embroidered on his fight robe.
Of course, Roy would need to discuss the specifics with the principal.
What was more troublesome was Elizabeth. That woman would definitely find an excuse to squeeze Roy one more time.
"Then it's settled! Ms. Hill, why don't you accompany Roy for a bit longer?"
Mary's expression seemed a bit unwilling, mainly because she had already learned that Roy was such a womanizer.
The latest novels are first published here!
American universities' beauty recruitment also depends on mutual consent, and now it seemed that Mary was showing signs of resistance.
"Hill, what's wrong?"
Alan pulled Mary aside and said something to her. Afterward, Mary obediently continued to show Roy around the UCLA campus.
The atmosphere of the tour was actually quite awkward, but after Roy deliberately tried to amuse Mary, the atmosphere finally improved a bit.
After walking around for a while, Mary suddenly asked, "Mr. Blake, do you really have two girlfriends?"
"Hmm! Do you find it strange?"
Mary nodded.
"The education I've received since I was a child has taught me that people should be loyal to one lover, so I've always dreamed of finding a soulmate."
This really fits the setting of Ghost.
"Well—both girls like me, and I like them too. Plus, they are good friends with each other, so we got together."
Mary was a bit shocked.
"Don't they get jealous of each other?"
Roy smiled.
"Would you share something you like with your best friend?"
This made Mary fall silent. She probably understood Jennifer's and Niddy's thoughts now.
"Let's not talk about this anymore. I'm a bit hungry. Could you take me to try the UCLA cafeteria?"
"Of course!"
After lunch, Roy successfully changed Mary's opinion of him to some extent. At least she wouldn't look at him strangely anymore.
She even had a faint feeling in her heart that a boy like Roy might not be bad as a soulmate.
However, after lunch, Roy said goodbye to Mary and returned to the Dolphin Hotel.
Heather and Penny had already woken up and finished lunch. The two of them were excitedly playing with a laptop in the hotel.
Roy told Heather and Penny that they would be staying in Los Angeles until the end of the month. The two girls naturally didn't refuse; they couldn't have wished for anything more than to spend more time with Roy.
At this moment, Roy saw a somewhat familiar interface on the laptop screen.
"What are you playing?"
"Roy, we're trying out a new software called MSN. We heard it's the hottest software right now!"
Heather's words made Roy feel a bit dazed.
Indeed, it was already March 2000, and MSN had been launched on July 22, 1999.
After spreading among universities, the software quickly began to become popular in society.
However, the MSN in front of him seemed more mature than the earliest 1.0 version; it could even send pictures.
Roy remembered that MSN in his previous life didn't have this feature until at least after the launch of the Windows XP system in 2001.
Could it be that technological development in this world is different?
"Looks kind of interesting."
"Roy, do you want to register for an account too? That way, the three of us can chat anytime, anywhere!"
"Of course, and I'm going to buy a laptop too!"
It was already the new millennium, so naturally, he needed to have a computer.
So, Roy took Heather and Penny to do some good shopping in downtown Los Angeles first, and then they started to explore the beautiful scenery of the West Coast.
They had a lot of fun until the evening. Penny suggested watching another movie to end their day of fun.
"There seems to be a movie theater just ahead!"
Heather saw a rather deserted-looking movie theater around the corner.
"Strange, it doesn't seem like there are many people?"
Roy was a bit surprised. Even though this was already the outskirts of Los Angeles, it shouldn't be this deserted.
Penny thought for a moment and replied to Roy, "March seems to be the off-season for movies. Movie theaters usually show art films or re-releases of old movies during this time. But isn't it a good thing if there aren't many people in the movie theater?"
Looking at Penny's playful eyes, Roy immediately understood what she meant and couldn't help but reach out and wipe her fiery red lipstick.
"You're such a little glutton!"
Unexpectedly, Penny directly sucked on Roy's finger, her eyes as watery as if they were about to drip.
It made Roy unable to resist saying a line with Hong Shixian's expression, "You're so seductive!"
Heather, who was standing next to them, felt a bit embarrassed.
"Can't you guys wait until we get back to do this kind of thing?"
"Hehe, Heather, we don't necessarily need to go back! Isn't the movie theater exciting?"
Saying that, Penny pulled Roy and Heather towards the movie theater.
"Are there any good movies showing right now?"
There were three staff members at the movie theater ticket booth: two young blonde women and a young man. They all looked quite attractive, although not as good-looking as the three of them.
One of the blonde women with a somewhat extravagant hairstyle replied to Penny, "Well, there aren't any particularly exciting movies out recently, but our theater has a rare horror film that's about to be re-released. Would you like to see it?"
"Is that so? Roy, should we watch it?"
