This was exactly why Kazama, even after establishing Oto no Kuni (the Sound Village), still chose to remain a Konoha ninja.
At that moment, Kinkaku and Ginkaku pulled out the legendary ninja tools of the Sage of the Six Paths. Brimming with confidence, they sneered at Kazama.
“Let me tell you, you little punk,” Kinkaku taunted. “There’s no need to explain the power of these ninja tools to you. Your Second Hokage already spelled it out clear as day. But even knowing what our tools can do, you can’t stop them. That’s the gap in our strength!”
“Exactly!” Ginkaku chimed in. “Our ninja tools are on a whole other level—capable of destroying heaven and earth!”
As soon as Kinkaku finished speaking, he charged at Kazama, brandishing the Kōkinjō (Golden Canopy Rope). Ginkaku followed close behind, ready to draw the Shichiseiken (Seven Star Sword) to sever Kazama’s “word spirit” extracted by the rope and curse him.
Anyone unaware of their tactics would’ve fallen for it in an instant. But Kazama? He’d already faced Kinkaku and Ginkaku in the real world. Not only that—he’d thoroughly thrashed them and taken their ninja tools.
So, seeing their attack coming, Kazama just smirked, completely unfazed. With his current strength, he had a thousand ways to wipe them out in a heartbeat. But killing them too quickly? That’d be letting them off too easy, especially after all their arrogance.
Instead, Kazama decided to toy with them first.
In the blink of an eye, he activated Tenshuriki (Heavenly Hand Power), instantly swapping places with Ginkaku, who was trailing behind. Before the brothers could react, they crashed into each other, heads smashing together, blood streaming down their faces.
In the chaos, Kinkaku’s Kōkinjō accidentally touched Ginkaku, summoning Ginkaku’s “word spirit.” Both brothers froze, stunned, trying to process why they’d collided.
Seizing the moment, Kazama moved like lightning. In a flash, he snatched the Shichiseiken from Ginkaku’s hand and sliced through Ginkaku’s word spirit, sealing it. Then, he grabbed the Benihisago (Crimson Gourd) from Ginkaku’s grip.
Grinning, Kazama taunted, “Seriously, are you two idiots? Weren’t you supposed to attack me? How’d you end up beating each other up instead?”
“What?!” the brothers roared, humiliated and enraged. They were already furious from their blunder, and now Kazama was rubbing salt in the wound, mocking them openly. Their anger boiled over, but they didn’t dare lash out at him.
They knew Kazama had just used their own Kōkinjō and Shichiseiken to curse Ginkaku’s word spirit. If they kept yelling at him, they might accidentally blurt out their catchphrases. For Kinkaku, that might not be a big deal. But if Ginkaku said his, Kazama could use the Benihisago to suck him into the gourd in an instant.
Chapter 307: Thrashing Ginkaku First
Kinkaku and Ginkaku were utterly stunned. Shocked into silence, they clamped their mouths shut, only daring to glare at Kazama with burning resentment.
Meanwhile, Senju Tobirama, Sarutobi Hiruzen, Shimura Danzō, and the others watching from the sidelines could hardly believe their eyes. In just a few moments, Kazama had turned the tables, pulling off a dazzling comeback against the odds.
It was beyond anything they could’ve imagined.
Even Tobirama, the Nidaime Hokage, hadn’t expected Kazama to overpower Kinkaku and Ginkaku so effortlessly. It wasn’t that Tobirama underestimated Kazama—far from it. He knew all too well how formidable the brothers were.
Kinkaku and Ginkaku weren’t just strong—they wielded the power of the Kyūbi’s chakra and could use the Rikudō Sennin’s ninja tools with deadly precision. Even Tobirama himself wasn’t confident he could defeat them in a one-on-one fight.
Yet here was Kazama, making it look easy as he dominated the two brothers. Tobirama couldn’t help but feel a mix of awe and curiosity about Kazama’s origins.
Seeing Kinkaku and Ginkaku too scared to even speak, Kazama smirked coldly. “You two are dumber than a bag of hammers. Sure, silence is golden, but so is a sharp tongue. You think clamming up will save you from being sucked into the Benihisago?”
“What?!” Ginkaku barely had time to process Kazama’s words before the Benihisago’s power activated, pulling him inside with a whoosh.
“Ha! Told you,” Kazama taunted. “Doesn’t matter if you stay quiet—the Benihisago will still gobble you up.”
Kinkaku’s face twisted with rage. He suddenly remembered the Benihisago’s ability to trap anyone, spoken words or not. But what infuriated him even more was that Kazama, an outsider, knew so much about their own ninja tools.
It drove him wild with anger.
With a manic laugh, Kinkaku unleashed the full power of the Kyūbi’s chakra. The bond between Kinkaku and Ginkaku was unbreakable—when one fell, the other went berserk.
Seeing Kinkaku tap into the Kyūbi’s chakra, Tobirama’s expression darkened. He knew the Nine-Tails’ power was synonymous with destruction. Even after watching Kazama dominate the brothers earlier, Tobirama wasn’t convinced Kazama could handle this.
He rushed to Kazama’s side and urged, “Kazama, you need to get out of here—now! Don’t tangle with Kinkaku anymore. He’s using the Kyūbi’s chakra. The power of a Tailed Beast is no joke—it’s on a whole other level!”
“Leave? Not a chance!” Kinkaku roared, cutting off Tobirama’s warning. Now fully cloaked in the Kyūbi’s chakra, he charged at Kazama with terrifying speed.
Tobirama reacted instantly, weaving hand signs to summon a Suiton: Suijinheki (Water Release: Water Formation Wall) to block Kinkaku’s attack.
But he hadn’t anticipated just how monstrous Kinkaku’s power had become in his Tailed Beast state. In a single clash, Kinkaku obliterated Tobirama’s water barrier like it was nothing.
“Ha! Senju Tobirama, what’s wrong with you? Did a donkey kick you in the head?” Kinkaku sneered. “You think that pathetic Suiton can stop me now that I’ve got the Tailed Beast’s power? Keep dreaming!”
Chapter 308: Thrashing Kinkaku Again
“Suiton: Suijinheki!” (Water Release: Water Formation Wall)
As Kinkaku, in his frenzied state, mocked Senju Tobirama’s Suiton relentlessly, Kazama stepped up and unleashed his own Suiton: Suijinheki.
Kinkaku, having just smashed through Tobirama’s Water Formation Wall, burst into laughter at the sight of Kazama’s technique. “This punk dares to show off with a Suiton in front of me?” he thought, his amusement turning to outright hysterics.
“Hey, you little punk!” Kinkaku roared. “You’re dumber than I thought! Senju Tobirama’s supposed to have a contract with the sea itself, and even his Suiton couldn’t stop me. You think your pathetic water jutsu’s gonna do any better?”
With a bellow, Kinkaku charged straight at Kazama’s Suijinheki. But as Kazama’s technique fully formed, Kinkaku froze, stunned. Kazama’s Water Formation Wall wasn’t just bigger than Tobirama’s—it was dozens of times larger. If Tobirama’s wall was like a barricade, Kazama’s was a fortress, a Great Wall stretching endlessly.
The wall surged toward Kinkaku like a tsunami, its roar deafening. Not just Kinkaku, but even Tobirama, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and Danzō staggered back, nearly collapsing in shock. Tobirama, the man said to have a pact with the sea, had never summoned a Suiton this immense. His chakra reserves couldn’t compare. Yet Kazama had cast this monstrous jutsu with ease.
How could Tobirama not be floored?
Kinkaku, though equally shocked, was trapped by his own bravado. He’d boasted he feared no Suiton. Backing down now would make him a laughingstock. Gritting his teeth, he charged headlong into Kazama’s wall.
Kazama smirked as Kinkaku foolishly tried to brute-force his way through. Kinkaku’s Nine-Tails chakra was formidable, sure, but Kazama’s Suijinheki was on another level. Infused with the power of Ika (alien fire), it wasn’t just any water jutsu—it was a cataclysmic force, capable of obliterating heaven and earth.
In mere moments, Kinkaku was battered back, overwhelmed. He’d thought he could smash through like he did Tobirama’s wall, but instead, Kazama’s jutsu completely dominated him. Desperate to escape, Kinkaku looked for a way out, but before he could act, Kazama let out a roar.
The Suijinheki erupted, thousands of water pillars shooting forth. In an instant, they pummeled Kinkaku, leaving him battered and bruised. If not for his Nine-Tails chakra healing his wounds instantly, he’d have been reduced to pulp in a single clash.
Tobirama, watching Kazama wield Suiton with such mastery—completely suppressing a tailed-beast-powered Kinkaku—was in awe. The man who rarely praised anyone gave Kazama a heartfelt thumbs-up.
Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzō, seeing Tobirama, who was notoriously stingy with compliments, openly admire Kazama, were equally stunned.
Chapter 309: Beating You Is Easy
At that moment, Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzō watched in shock as Senju Tobirama, who rarely praised anyone, gave Kazama a big thumbs-up.
Their hearts were filled with disbelief about Kazama’s abilities.
Meanwhile, Kinkaku, now in his tailed beast form, realized he was no match for Kazama and immediately tried to flee.
“Little punk, I’ll admit I can’t beat you, but if I want to escape, there’s no way you can catch me—haha!”
Unfortunately for him, escaping Kazama was impossible.
“Shinra Tensei!”
With a single gesture, Kazama sent Kinkaku crashing to the ground.
Senju Tobirama had thought Kinkaku might actually get away.
But he never expected Kazama to be this incredible.
With a casual wave of his hand, Kazama knocked Kinkaku flat again.
While Tobirama stood there stunned, Kazama used Banshō Ten’in, pulling Kinkaku right toward him.
Kinkaku, now dangerously close, saw his chance to strike back at Kazama.
But Kazama had already read his intentions and unleashed another Shinra Tensei, blasting Kinkaku a hundred meters away.
In just a few exchanges, Kazama had completely overwhelmed Kinkaku, leaving him unable to move.
Though Kinkaku was beaten to the brink of death, he still refused to yield, sneering at Kazama.
“Little punk, you can beat me to a pulp, but you’ll never kill me! My body’s protected by the Kyūbi’s chakra, so you can’t hurt me. Even if you turn me into mincemeat, I’ll just come back to life!”
“Oh, really? If you’re that tough, let’s see what happens when I absorb your Kyūbi chakra first!”
“What? You think you can absorb my Kyūbi chakra? Keep dreaming! My Kyūbi power isn’t something you can just take—wait, what?!”
Kinkaku thought Kazama was bluffing.
But he hadn’t anticipated that Kazama was already using the Preta Path of the Rokudō, the Hungry Ghost Path.
In mere moments, Kazama drained every last bit of Kinkaku’s Kyūbi chakra.
This was far beyond Kinkaku’s expectations.
It also left Senju Tobirama, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and the others absolutely floored.
“What?! How is this possible? This can’t be real!”
Sarutobi Hiruzen, Kinkaku, and the others all gasped in unison, their voices dripping with shock.
Though Sarutobi Hiruzen, Senju Tobirama, and their allies desperately wanted Kazama to crush Kinkaku—after all, he was their enemy, and his defeat would mean their survival—they never imagined Kazama could absorb an enemy’s power. Wasn’t this guy basically invincible now?
Kinkaku, too, was dumbfounded.
He couldn’t believe that even after unleashing the Kyūbi’s power, he still wasn’t a match for Kazama. His pride was shattered.
With a furious roar, Kinkaku charged at Kazama again.
But by now, Senju Tobirama, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and the others had stopped worrying about Kazama.
They knew his strength was on another level—absolutely insane.
Worrying about him was pointless.
There was no need to fret at all.
They were certain Kazama’s current power could easily dominate Kinkaku.
Chapter 310: Danzō's Discontent
Just as Senju Tobirama and the others had expected, in the blink of an eye, Kinkaku was once again knocked to the ground by Kazama.
Before Kinkaku could even react, Kazama swiftly sucked him into the Crimson Gourd (Benihisago).
At that moment, Senju Tobirama, Sarutobi Hiruzen, Danzō, and the others were utterly shocked by Kazama’s display. They couldn’t help but admire him deeply.
After all, if it had been any of them, there’s no way they could’ve taken down Kinkaku and Ginkaku so effortlessly. Those two were infamous for their arrogance and overwhelming strength. They weren’t called the “Two Lights of the Cloud” for nothing.
Yet here was Kazama, easily crushing these so-called “Two Lights of the Cloud.”
Naturally, this left everyone stunned.
What’s more, Kazama hadn’t just defeated Kinkaku and Ginkaku—he’d also taken their ninja tools (ninjū). This only deepened the admiration Senju Tobirama and the others felt.
Everyone knew that Kinkaku and Ginkaku’s dominance came largely from wielding the ninja tools of the Sage of the Six Paths (Rikudō Sennin). Those tools were coveted by many, but they were notorious for draining massive amounts of chakra. Even if someone managed to get their hands on them, most couldn’t use them.
But Kazama? Not only did he effortlessly seize the brothers’ ninja tools, he could wield them with ease.
This left Senju Tobirama and the others in awe.
Without hesitation, Senju Tobirama rushed over to Kazama, showering him with praise. He genuinely admired the young shinobi from the bottom of his heart.
“Listen, kid,” Tobirama said, “you’re incredible—absolutely phenomenal! We thought you were just some young, ordinary genin, but your strength? It’s way beyond anything we could’ve imagined. You’ve completely blown us away!”
“Hokage-sama, you’re too kind,” Kazama replied coolly. “To me, Kinkaku and Ginkaku are nothing but trash. Taking them out was a piece of cake.”
“What?!”
Kazama’s casual dismissal of Kinkaku and Ginkaku as “trash” sent another shockwave through Tobirama and Sarutobi Hiruzen.
But despite their surprise, they didn’t voice any doubts. Kazama had the skills and the strength to back up his words. In the eyes of others, Kinkaku and Ginkaku might be formidable, but in front of Kazama? They really were nothing.
At that moment, however, Danzō, standing off to the side, scoffed at Kazama’s words.
With a cold smirk, Danzō sneered at him. “Kid, you’re pretty young to be talking so big!”
“Danzō!” Sarutobi Hiruzen snapped, furious that Danzō would dare mock their savior. “How can you speak to our benefactor like that?”
“Spare me your nonsense!” Danzō shot back, cutting Sarutobi off.
Though Danzō and Sarutobi were comrades, Danzō was still seething over Tobirama’s recent announcement naming Sarutobi the new Hokage. Becoming Hokage had been Danzō’s lifelong dream, and now that Sarutobi had officially taken the title, Danzō was livid.
So, instead of engaging with Sarutobi further, Danzō turned back to Kazama, his cold smirk returning as he continued to taunt him.
