The collector turned back in surprise, only to see a handsome black-haired teenager waving at him from the end of the corridor.
His pupils constricted, and the collector immediately turned to run.
Unfortunately for him, the collector reacted quickly, but Roy reacted even faster.
Almost instantly, Roy drew his gun, aimed, and fired. The Smith & Wesson M625 revolver accurately hit the collector in the upper thigh.
The collector let out a muffled groan, clutching his wound as he disappeared around the corner.
Roy frowned slightly. He hadn't expected the collector to have such strong willpower. Usually, someone hit in the thigh with a .45 caliber bullet would lose the ability to move.
The main reason was that Roy was afraid of accidentally killing the collector, so he hadn't aimed for a vital spot. After all, he still wanted to interrogate him about the Dark Web.
But no matter, the collector was injured now and wouldn't be able to run far anytime soon. Roy decided to get the bounty first.
"Elena, come down, it's me, Roy."
Elena jumped down from the pipe with a surprised cry of joy and rushed to Roy, throwing her arms around him.
"Roy, it really is you! Oh my god, I thought I was dreaming! Did you come to rescue me?"
Roy nodded.
"Yes, I was commissioned by your grandfather to come and save you."
Elena looked at Roy with a dazed expression. Girls her age were at the stage of idolizing heroes, so Elena completely forgot her current predicament and almost wished she could give Roy a passionate French kiss right then and there.
"Roy, thank you!"
"Hold on a second, Elena. Let's save the thank yous for after I get you out of here."
As he spoke, Roy took Elena's hand and started looking for traces of the collector. A trail of blood led down the corridor, finally stopping at a trash chute on the wall.
In high-rise apartments in America, these trash chutes were pretty common. Roy cautiously opened the chute door and peeked inside. Below was a mountain of corpses piled on top of each other.
The collector must have crawled into this trash chute, fallen onto the pile of corpses, and escaped.
Luckily, the weather in Texas was still relatively cold, otherwise the smell would have been enough to kill someone.
Speaking of which, with so many corpses in this rundown hotel, wouldn't it reek for miles in the summer?
How had the collector managed to hide until now?
Roy keenly sensed that something was wrong, and he became even more alert.
"Roy, that guy looks like he got away!"
"It's not that simple! Elena, let's worry about that later. I'll get you out of here first."
With that, Roy pulled Elena towards his escape route. On the way, they saw the blonde girl who had just been pushed down by the collector.
The blonde girl was squatting on the ground, looking at them timidly.
"You shouldn't do this. Mr. Collector will be angry. Mr. Collector doesn't like this..."
This attitude left Elena, who was already a bit annoyed, unsure of how to react.
"Roy, she..."
But Roy remembered the movie plot. This blonde girl, suffering from Stockholm syndrome, was nothing but trouble.
Without any hesitation, he punched the blonde girl, knocking her out cold, which shocked Elena.
"Once we deal with the collector, the police will naturally handle these victims properly."
Elena agreed with Roy's decision, mainly because she was so infatuated with Roy at the moment that her brain automatically glorified all his actions.
Roy led Elena to a hotel room where he had already removed the window.
Having seen the movie, Roy knew that this abandoned hotel was full of traps, and going through the inside was just plain stupid. So, he chose to go back down to the first floor, exit the hotel, and then climb the outer wall by hand to the higher floors.
It was also thanks to the blonde girl's screaming that Roy was able to pinpoint Elena's location.
"Are we really going to climb down like this?"
Roy and Elena were on roughly the fourth floor of the hotel, a height that made Elena a bit scared.
"Yes, I'll carry you on my back. You just need to hold on tight, and I'll get us down."
Looking at Roy's confident expression, Elena decided to trust him.
Actually, with Roy's current physique of 36, jumping down from the fourth floor might not even be a problem, but to avoid scaring Elena, he chose to climb down slowly.
A few minutes later, the two landed safely.
Roy took Elena to Peters' getaway car to hide, then took out his phone and started dialing at the hotel entrance.
"Hello, is this Sister Saltana?"
"Roy? What do you need?"
"Hehe, Sister Saltana, can't I just call you to chat even if there's nothing wrong?"
"Don't give me that. I know what kind of person you are."
During this time, Roy had sent Saltana quite a few flirtatious messages, and she had actually replied to every single one, but they hadn't had a single phone call.
"Sister Saltana, you're really too smart. I can't hide anything from you."
At this moment, Saltana on the other end of the phone could no longer hide the amusement in her voice.
"Alright! Just tell me quickly if you're in trouble. I'll try my best to help you."
That was exactly what he was waiting for!
Roy explained his current situation and suspicions, and Saltana on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment.
"Roy, how did you get involved in such a dangerous incident?"
"It's not my fault, I'm a victim too!"
Roy's voice sounded particularly wronged. He was indeed forced into this situation. He couldn't just let the Dark Web torture him without fighting back, could he?
"Okay, I've heard a little about this incident, but this kind of case isn't under the FEA's jurisdiction. I can introduce you to an FBI agent who is currently investigating cases related to the Dark Web."
"Sister Saltana, is this FBI agent reliable? I suspect the Dark Web must have people in the police department."
"You can rest assured about that. I've known this FBI agent for almost ten years. She's absolutely reliable!"
Since Saltana had said so, Roy naturally chose to believe her.
Afterwards, Saltana gave him a string of phone numbers.
"I'll talk to her first, and you can contact her later."
"Okay!"
Ten minutes later, Roy figured enough time had passed and dialed the phone number Saltana had given him.
A mature and magnetic low female voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Hello, are you that cute little brother Saltana mentioned?"
Another older sister?
Roy really wanted to tell this older sister that he wasn't little at all, but saying such things on the phone to a stranger felt a bit like sexual harassment. He'd better wait until he met her in person to say it.
If this older sister wasn't pretty, then forget it.
"Yes, my name is Roy Black. What should I call you, Miss?"
"Iliana Scott. Where are you now?"
Roy gave his location.
"Oh my god, I happen to be in Austin! Wait for me there, don't do anything rash, I'll be there soon with the mobile unit! Remember, absolutely, positively don't do anything rash!"
With that, Iliana hung up the phone.
Roy scoffed. How could he just wait there? He still wanted to get the kill!
Inside the dilapidated hotel, although the collector was injured, Peters' team still suffered casualties due to the various traps.
Three out of five people were dead, and the remaining two were scattered, which was a standard horror movie scenario.
The once incredibly confident Peters was now in a state of anxiety. The dead team members were all his colleagues, and he had no idea how to explain this to their families.
This made Peters extremely frustrated, and he sprayed his surroundings with his submachine gun.
"Come out, you freak! Fight me one-on-one if you dare!"
At this time, Peters' location was similar to a museum, with a large number of the collector's cruel collection items displayed in the room.
There were strangely shaped corpses, internal organs soaked in formalin, and even human leather products.
No wonder this guy was called the collector. He really liked collecting things.
Actually, Peters wasn't as frantic as he appeared. His moral standards weren't very high to begin with. He mainly wanted to lure the collector out this way.
This strategy was quite effective. The collector really liked seeing his prey in despair, so after Peters emptied his submachine gun, he appeared directly in front of him.
The newest and fastest novels are all on \[website name]!
"Found you!"
Peters quickly drew the pistol from his waist and shot at the collector. His drawing speed wasn't as fast as Roy's, but it wasn't too slow either. The collector on the opposite side couldn't react at all.
Bang, crash!
However, what Peters hit was a full-length mirror, which meant the real collector was actually behind him.
Peters quickly gripped his pistol and turned around, but it was clearly too late. The collector had already pounced from behind and restrained him.
The collector's method of restraint showed obvious military training, which surprised Peters greatly.
"Damn it, are you a veteran? Ah—"
The collector didn't answer, dislocating Peters' arm and disarming him.
This completely deprived Peters of his ability to resist, and he could only be dragged on the ground by the other man.
The only thing Peters could do was to keep cursing the collector, but he never hit the mark, and the mockery effect was very poor.
Looking at the terrifying collection items around him, Peters realized that he would soon be joining them, and a sense of fear arose in his heart.
Like a death row inmate about to sit in the electric chair, Peters was now very scared.
Fortunately, Arken, who was lurking in the corner, suddenly appeared and bumped into the collector.
This guy was still kind-hearted. Although he had been morally blackmailed and coerced by Peters, he still chose to put aside his grievances and save him when he was in danger.
How could someone with such high moral standards end up as a thief? Indeed, there's no way out for good people in America.
Seeing this, Peters quickly reminded Arken.
"Arken, be careful! This guy is likely a former special forces soldier!"
Actually, Arken had already fought the collector in the first movie. He was badly beaten by the collector at that time, so Arken had no intention of fighting the collector at all this time. He just pushed him and ran.
The main purpose was to attract the collector's attention.
It has to be said that Arken's strategy was quite correct. The collector, whose plan was ruined by him, immediately abandoned Peters and started chasing him.
This gave Peters a chance to save himself. He quickly stabilized his arm and reset the dislocated joint. This process was very painful, and the reset arm was also very fragile and could easily dislocate again.
However, Peters had no other choice. At least after resetting his arm, he still had some ability to resist.
Hurrying to pick up his dropped gun, Peters found that the collector and Arken had already disappeared.
On the other side, Arken was trying to shake off the collector's pursuit.
Arken was definitely not as familiar with the internal structure of the hotel as the collector. This guy had a very good memory and could remember all the traps he had set.
Fortunately, the collector's thigh was injured by Roy. Although the bullet had been removed and the wound had been bandaged, his mobility was still affected.
During this process, Arken found the female team member who had been caught and hung up by the collector.
Feeling that the collector shouldn't have caught up, Arken immediately began to rescue the female team member.
The female team member had many wounds on her body, but fortunately, none of these wounds were very serious and did not affect her ability to move.
However, Arken was still careless. The collector did not follow, but he returned to the surveillance room and activated the mechanism remotely.
With a click, the floor under Arken's feet gave way, and below was a large meat grinder.
It turned out that the female team member was hung here as a trap set by the collector, the purpose of which was to attract others to rescue her.
The female team member grabbed the iron chain in time, while Arken hugged the female team member's body to avoid falling down and becoming minced meat.
But the iron chain was also slowly descending, and in a few minutes, Arken would become Arken sauce.
"Damn it, can you climb up?"
"Why don't you let go and try!"
Letting go was impossible. Every extra minute was a minute of life. What if there was a turning point?
The current situation was obvious. Even if the female team member was physically stronger than the average woman, it was impossible for her to climb up carrying an adult male. The two could only slowly descend together.
At a critical moment, something black and hair-like was thrown from a distance and wrapped around Arken's body.
"Grab the rope, I'll pull you over!"
A familiar voice, it was Roy!
Arken was very surprised and immediately grabbed the black hair, letting go of the female team member's body.
Then Roy did the same, rescuing the female team member as well.
"Mr. Black, are you alright? We all thought you triggered a trap and died!"
Roy rolled his eyes. How could they curse their savior like that?
"Have you guys seen the collector?"
Arken answered Roy.
"The collector was just chasing me, then he disappeared, and immediately afterwards, the traps were activated."
Roy looked towards the corner of the room, where surveillance cameras were filming them.
"That guy should be in the surveillance room. You guys get out of here quickly. I've already rescued Elena."
The female team member looked at Roy in shock. While their team was being brutally beaten by the collector, Roy had already rescued the person unharmed.
"We can't just let that guy go. He killed my teammates!"
"There's no need to fight in this guy's territory. I've called for backup, and the FBI will be here soon."
These words convinced the female team member, and she and Arken ran towards the door.
Roy did not leave, however. He chose to go deeper into the hotel to look for traces of the collector.
After putting on the ghost mask again, Roy could sense the surrounding life and quickly made a discovery.
In the surveillance room, the collector had realized that he could no longer control the situation. He chose to detonate the bombs placed in the hotel to destroy all traces.
Just as he pressed the detonation button, the door of the surveillance room was kicked open.
"Found you!"
Chapter 93: Isabella and Elena
The Collector frowned slightly, still wanting to reach for the automatic pistol beside him.
But Roy quickly pulled the trigger, accurately shooting the automatic pistol out of his hand and giving a warning.
"Don't move. If you dare to move again, I'll take you down!"
This level of marksmanship made the Collector dare not act rashly again, and he raised his hands in surrender.
"Roy Black, I thought you were just a small task assigned to me by the higher-ups. I didn't expect you to be so troublesome."
The Collector suddenly spoke, surprising Roy.
"Oh ho, so you can talk! I thought you were mute! You really were sent by the Dark Web to deal with me. Why don't you honestly confess everything? That way, you might even be able to save your skin!"
Of course, this was just a bluff to the Collector. Although the fate treasure chests of ordinary people might not yield anything good for Roy, he adhered to the principle that even a mosquito's leg is still meat, and he wouldn't voluntarily give up any treasure chest.
The Collector smiled, not caring about Roy's threat at all, as if he had some backup.
"You like to laugh, huh?"
Roy quickly walked towards the Collector, ready to teach him a lesson.
Just at this moment, the entire hotel shook. This was the explosion of a bomb that the Collector had planted in advance.
The sudden tremor distracted Roy, and the prepared Collector seized the opportunity to lunge at him.
Hmm, the Collector probably thought that since Roy's marksmanship was so good, his close-quarters combat skills might be weaker.
And then...
Roy agilely dodged the Collector's charge, then using both hands, landed a series of punches on the Collector's face.
Instantly, the Collector's eyes became incredibly clear. He seemed to have returned to his childhood, to the feeling of being violently beaten by his father.
"Trying to trick me? Scumbag, look me in the eyes! Tell me, where is the Dark Web's hideout!"
The hotel had already begun to gradually collapse in the explosion, but Roy was not in a hurry to leave. Instead, he prepared to interrogate the Collector first.
The power of the Shadow of Fear was released, and the Collector immediately began to tremble all over, as if he had seen some terrifying illusion.
However, the Collector's willpower was also quite strong, and he gritted his teeth, refusing to say anything.
So, Roy increased the output of the Shadow of Fear.
"Tell me immediately!"
At this moment, in the Collector's eyes, Roy had become the embodiment of the Grim Reaper, constantly roaring at him.
Finally, the Collector couldn't withstand this mental pressure, and he tremblingly spoke out an address, then his eyes rolled back and foam appeared at his mouth.
\[Ding! Obtained the Collector's fate treasure chest! Open it?]
Was he scared to death?
Roy was a bit speechless. He probably hadn't controlled the output of the Shadow of Fear well enough, which led to the Collector's direct death. He hadn't even confirmed the authenticity of the address yet!
Helplessly, Roy had no choice but to leave the Collector's body behind and depart.
At this time, most of the hotel had already been engulfed in flames. Perhaps the Collector had placed gasoline near the bomb to better destroy evidence.
In the end, Roy chose to smash a window and jump out of the hotel.
Huh? Why is it so lively outside?
Roy, after leaving the hotel, suddenly noticed several armored vehicles parked outside, and a group of heavily armed people guarding the hotel.
Using the light from the hotel fire, Roy saw the letters SWAT on the vests of these people.
SWAT is actually the special police force in America, specializing in urban counter-terrorism and anti-violence missions.
Could it be the rescue Elena mentioned that has arrived? It seems a bit fast. Has it only been a few minutes?
However, what surprised Roy was that Peters, the female team member, and Aiken, including Elena, who had just escaped the hotel, were all being held at gunpoint, kneeling on the ground with their hands on their heads.
This was clearly the attitude of treating criminals. Was it really necessary?
Roy immediately thought of the worst possible scenario he had predicted earlier.
"Sir, there's another person here!"
"Grab him!"
More than a dozen submachine guns were pointed at Roy. Even with his current 36 points of constitution, he could only retreat.
Fortunately, there was a low wall around the outside of the hotel, which became an excellent cover, and finally prevented Roy from being riddled with bullets.
"Surround him! If he resists, shoot him dead!"
The on-site commander gave the order, and now it could be confirmed that the other party was sent by the Dark Web to clean up.
After all, Roy's skin color should protect him from the police emptying their bullets on him, and besides, he wasn't even holding a gun.
Facing the dire situation, Roy was just about to transform into the Son of the Devil and go on a killing spree when...
A somewhat familiar voice came from afar.
"You evildoer, prepare to die!"
"Where did this nun come from! Take her down!"
Nun? Could it be that nun?
Roy cautiously poked his head out and saw the beautiful nun who had appeared in the auditorium, holding two guns and fearlessly confronting the fake SWAT team.
Strange, wasn't this nun tracking the Collector even earlier than him?
Why didn't she appear before, but only now?
Just as he was thinking, the fake SWAT team opened fire on the nun. The firepower of more than a dozen submachine guns was enough to turn a person into a sieve, but the nun suddenly leaped and dodged the concentrated fire.
The fake SWAT members quickly adjusted their aim, but the nun had already stylishly pulled the trigger in mid-air, just like a scene from an action movie.
After a magazine of bullets was emptied, Roy was surprised to find that not a single shot from the fake SWAT hit the nun, and the nun didn't hit any of the fake SWAT members either.
What kind of geriatric marksmanship is this?
It was understandable that the fake SWAT didn't hit the nun, after all, no one expected her to jump so high. But how did the nun manage to miss with thirty bullets from two automatic pistols, all at stationary targets?
Everyone's brain on the scene crashed at this moment.
The nun expressionlessly threw away the two guns.
"Hmph, there must be something wrong with these two pistols!"
The fake SWAT commander was a bit annoyed.
"What are you doing! Hurry up and take down this nun!"
The other fake SWAT members finally belatedly took out their pistols, ready to deal with the nun.
The nun pulled off her belt, and it turned out to be a long whip.
Snap!
The sound of the whip cracking through the air rang out, and several fake SWAT members closest to her were immediately whipped to the ground. However, the fake SWAT members from other directions had already aimed at the nun.
Bang—
Unfortunately, these fake SWAT members didn't have time to pull the trigger before Roy took them down with his Smith & Wesson M625.
The nun followed the sound of the gunshot and looked at Roy by the low wall, giving a slight nod.
Caught in a crossfire, the fake SWAT members were immediately thrown into brief chaos, and Peters and Aiken, who had been captured by them earlier, also seized the opportunity to fight back.
The situation reversed in an instant!
Seeing that the situation was bad, the fake SWAT commander turned and ran towards the armored vehicle, preparing to escape.
But the nun's long whip wrapped around the guy's neck, pulling him back for execution.
"Madam, wait! This guy is the commander, maybe we can get some information out of him!"
The nun, stopped by Roy, frowned slightly but still released her grip.
"Do you want to investigate the person behind this evildoer?"
"Yes, Madam. May I ask your name?"
"Mi... Isabella."
The sound of sirens came from afar. This was the real way the police responded to a call.
Unlike those armored vehicles just now, Roy had no idea when they had appeared.
Hearing the sirens, Isabella frowned and looked at Roy.
"Young man, what's your name?"
"Roy, Roy Black."
"You're a good kid. If you find out who's behind these guys, remember to call me."
Isabella tossed Roy a business card and then turned and left.
This person really had the same way of speaking as Elizabeth, leaving Roy speechless.
But seeing Isabella's receding figure, Roy suddenly thought of a possibility.
Could this person have walked all the way here?
Just as he was thinking, the sound of sirens arrived at the scene. Fully armed police surrounded the group. This time, it was finally the real FBI and SWAT.
A mature woman in a ladies' suit came to Roy.
"Roy Black?"
"That's me."
Roy looked at the brown-haired woman in front of him. She had thick lips that were very familiar to him.
Isn't that Angelina Jolie?
Seeing another familiar face made Roy slightly stunned.
"Tell me the details of what happened. Why did it become like this? Are you hurt?"
The newest novel is first published here!
Elena thought Roy was injured and reached out to check his physical condition.
\[Discovered special character Elena Scott. You can absorb the power of fate to obtain rewards!]
"I'm fine, just a bit mentally exhausted."
Elena didn't suspect anything else.
"In that case, let's talk in the car."
In the car, Roy told Elena about the entire Nightstalker incident, omitting the supernatural aspects.
Elena had an earpiece in her ear and was listening to her subordinates' reports.
Meanwhile, Peters, Aiken, and the others were in other cars, also being questioned by the FBI.
"Hmm, it's similar to what the others said, but are you sure the Collector is dead?"
"I'm sure!"
Elena nodded.
"Mr. Black, because this case has many suspicious points, I need to temporarily detain you. This isn't because we consider you a suspect, but for protection and confidentiality purposes. You shouldn't mind, right?"
"Can I let my family know I'm safe?"
"Of course."
Roy drank coffee for almost 12 hours at the FBI headquarters in Austin before being released.
Just as Roy had previously guessed, Peters' team was indeed from the local SWAT unit.
With their own people coming forward to testify, plus Elena's grandfather Simon pulling some strings, Roy was able to be released so quickly.
Aiken was more unlucky. Because he was a habitual thief, the FBI found his criminal record after arresting him, and he might have to spend a few years in prison before getting out.
However, Simon didn't break his promise and would still give Aiken the agreed-upon money.
Back in Waterfall Town, Roy immediately met with Keller Evans.
"I didn't expect the Collector to really be connected to the Dark Web. Damn it! Almost a whole day has passed, and we haven't seen half a day's worth of news! I suspect there might be a government scandal involved, so the FBI is suppressing the news! Otherwise, given the FBI's style, they would have already publicized it to the whole world!
Mr. Black, what are you planning to do next?"
"I'm planning to go to the address the Collector mentioned myself."
Keller thought for a moment and shook his head.
"Mr. Black, you're already on the Dark Web's list. Appearing there rashly could easily alert them. Why don't you let me investigate secretly first?"
Roy thought Keller's words made sense. His appearance was indeed a bit too conspicuous, and he was also a student, making it inconvenient to take long periods of leave.
"Okay, if there's any danger, call me immediately, and I'll come to save you."
"I will."
Keller left with Molly. Molly seemed to have decided to stay with Keller and was now his assistant.
After seeing Keller off, only Jennifer and Needy remained at home. The two girls stared straight at Roy.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Then, as if they had discussed it beforehand, Jennifer and Needy simultaneously pounced on Roy and hugged him.
"Roy, I didn't expect this incident to be so dangerous!"
"Yeah, I was really worried about you!"
The two girls took turns expressing their concern for Roy, talking as if he were already dead.
"What's there to worry about? Aren't I perfectly fine?"
Jennifer bit her lip tightly, as if she had made some kind of decision.
"Roy, do you think I should..."
Roy guessed what Jennifer wanted to do and directly stopped her mouth with a kiss.
After a fierce battle of lips and tongues, Roy released the panting Jennifer.
"Things haven't reached their worst yet, and besides, there's a troublesome person in Texas right now that we need to get rid of."
Needy looked at Jennifer and Roy's passionate kiss with an envious expression, seemingly wanting to try it herself.
"Are you guys hiding something else from me?"
Roy looked at Jennifer, somewhat surprised that she hadn't told Needy about Lilith. He had originally intended to let her tell Needy herself.
"I... I haven't decided yet."
Jennifer still seemed to be struggling with her own feelings, so Roy patted her back.
"It's okay, Jennifer! I think no matter what happens, Needy won't abandon your friendship!"
Needy smiled and nodded.
"Roy is right, no matter what happens, we'll always be best friends!"
Jennifer felt a bit touched, and then she heard Roy's next words.
"So, can best friends sleep together tonight?"
Jennifer and Needy simultaneously punched Roy.
"Pui, you wish!"
The two girls broke free from Roy's embrace and ran out laughing.
Roy scratched his head, thinking it would be another lonely night, and was just wondering if he should go to the Sawyer Manor when Needy suddenly pushed Jennifer back into the room.
"Jennifer, you should stay here tonight. I'll talk to Mom and Dad!"
Saying this, Needy closed the door.
Jennifer hadn't expected to be betrayed by her best friend and looked back at Roy somewhat shyly.
Things had actually developed this way. Needy was truly a good girl!
Roy rubbed his hands together.
"Jennifer, we can't waste Needy's kindness, right?"
"You go take a shower first, you stink!"
Because he had been in a fight and then detained by the FBI for half a day, Roy did indeed smell a bit.
"Then let's shower together!"
Roy suddenly rushed towards Jennifer, picked her up, and headed for the bathroom.
Like the first blood in a battle, Roy first used his "flesh brush" to thoroughly clean Jennifer's body from the inside out.
Only then did he carry Jennifer to the second battlefield to continue the fight.
At this moment, Roy noticed that Jennifer's body seemed to have undergone some changes.
Furthermore, Roy also noticed the pink pattern that appeared on Jennifer's lower abdomen when she was excited.
Elena Scott (Angelina Jolie)
