Chapter 77: Keller Evans
🕑 Added 2025-05-22 17:18:54 +0000 UTC"Hold on a second, I'll get the door."
Roy went to the entrance and opened the door, seeing someone he didn't expect.
"Carly? What are you doing here?"
It was Carly Jones, who appeared in the "House of Wax" incident.
Carly was wearing her cheerleader uniform today, probably having just run over after practice. She radiated youthful energy.
"Roy, I heard you're home alone these days?"
Carly winked at Roy, seemingly hinting at something.
"Yeah, is there something I can help you with?"
Carly bit her lip and placed her hand on Roy's firm chest muscles.
"I was wondering if I could borrow your bathroom to take a shower."
Roy's lips twitched. That was a pretty lame excuse.
Not only does the school have bathrooms where the cheerleaders can shower after practice, but Roy's house is also several miles away from the school. Why would she need to come all the way to his place to borrow a bathroom?
This girl clearly wanted to sleep with him.
Normally, Roy definitely wouldn't refuse. Free conquest points were always welcome. But he had important business to attend to right now.
While he was hesitating, Carly had already squeezed her way inside.
"Wait a minute, Carly!"

"Are Jennifer and Niddy at your place?"
As soon as she said that, Carly saw Keller in the living room, and her expression instantly turned strange.
"So it's not Jennifer and Niddy, but another woman? No wonder you were so nervous!"
Carly had obviously misunderstood. Roy helplessly explained, "Carly, you've got it wrong. This lady is a reporter. She's here to interview me."
Roy just made up an excuse, but Carly clearly didn't believe him.
"Hehe! I didn't say anything. Why are you in such a hurry to explain? Don't worry, I won't tell Jennifer and Niddy! But, I heard that some female reporters will sleep with celebrities to get exclusive information. Is that true?"
Carly blinked her eyes, her face full of curiosity.
This made Keller's face darken. It was true that some entertainment or sports reporters would have friendly encounters with their interviewees, but she wasn't that kind of reporter.
"I'm a social news reporter!"
Carly ignored Keller's words.
"Roy, if you want to try something different, you can always come to me! No need to go for an old woman like her!"
Keller's face darkened even more. Her looks and skin were already considered good among white people, but at 28 years old, she definitely couldn't compare to the 18-year-old Carly in the prime of her youth.
"Have you said enough?"
Roy smiled and gently pushed the pouting Carly out of his house.
"Hey, I haven't taken a shower yet!"
"Sorry, Carly, but I really have important business tonight. I'll invite you for a shower next time when I have time, okay?"
With that, Roy closed the door.
Carly stomped her feet in anger, then her eyes darted around. She took out her phone and made a call.
"Hello? Jennifer? Listen, I just passed by Roy's house, and I saw a suspicious-looking woman go inside. She looked like a call girl!
What? You're asking why I was passing by his house? Uh, never mind that. Anyway, I wouldn't lie to you!"
Carly quickly hung up the phone, her face still a bit resentful.
"Hmph, if I can't have him, neither can you! Oh, wait, should I take a picture of this with my digital camera? Hehe, I'll call Peggy to come over!"
Roy had no idea he was going to be very busy tonight. He was currently telling Keller some of the information he knew.
"You're saying that motel is working for an organization called 'Dark Web' and is secretly involved in the business of snuff films? And Keller died at the hands of the motel owner?"
"Yes. However, the motel owner and employees have already been taken care of by me, but the Dark Web organization still exists. They have quite a bit of power. They even directly impersonated two police officers to find me. If I hadn't been careful, you might not have been able to find Amy and me."
As a social news reporter, Keller knew a fair amount about the dark side of American society.
"This organization must have some wealthy and powerful people protecting them! These inhuman bastards! I have to expose this, not just for Keller, but also for those innocent people who died!"
Roy looked at Keller in surprise. He didn't expect this female reporter to be so righteous.
People who have seen the dark side of society and can still maintain their sense of justice are truly rare.
Roy himself couldn't do it, so he admired such idealists even more. Sometimes, it takes idealists like these to change things.
"I need to warn you that the power of the Dark Web might be greater than you imagine!"
Roy told her about the mercenary ambush he encountered later, which directly led to David's death.
Hearing this, Keller was silent for a moment.
"No wonder Ms. Amy hated that organization so much. No wonder Saltana wouldn't tell me any information about it!"

Hmm? Did I just hear a familiar name?
Roy raised an eyebrow, feeling that America was really small. He had run into an old acquaintance.
"Mr. Black, I have a question. How did you survive in such a situation?"
Roy smiled.
"First of all, I'm a boxer. Although I'm still a student, my physique is better than most adults. Furthermore..."
Roy suddenly reached towards his waist. Keller only saw a blur, and then she found a revolver pointed at her.
She hadn't seen Roy draw his gun at all. It was like the frame where he drew the gun had been cut out.
"I'm also a Texas cowboy!"
Keller's eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Are all the Texas boys this impressive nowadays?"
"No, I'm a special one! Ms. Evans, if you're really going to investigate the Dark Web, you have to be very careful. This organization has no bottom line! Of course, if you find anything, you can contact me. I also have a score to settle with the Dark Web."
As he spoke, a murderous aura emanated from Roy.
Keller had interviewed some veterans and murderers before. The murderous aura on Roy was comparable to theirs.
Considering that Roy had said he personally killed the motel owner, Keller had a clearer understanding of Roy's combat abilities.
It's just a pity that Keller still underestimated Roy's fighting power.
"I will. I hope I won't need to contact you."
Keller flipped her hair and handed Roy a business card.
"Not necessarily. Maybe you'll need to interview me in the future?"
Roy winked at Keller, which reminded Keller of the misunderstanding when they first met.
"So you're quite famous around here?"
"These days, I'm the most famous boxer around Austin. If you're interested, you can check out the Austin TV stations. You might even catch a replay of my fights."
"I will, Mr. Black. Well, I won't bother you any longer. Goodbye."
"I'll see you out."
Roy had just seen Keller to the door when he heard the doorbell ring again.
"So many visitors tonight?"
