Even though it was already past lights-out, a nursing home wouldn't usually be completely dark, especially since Americans are known for their love of wasting things, with regular households often leaving lights on until dawn.
The situation before them made Roy and Wade feel a little strange, but they still stopped the car and walked into the Gospel Nursing Home.
What struck them as odd was that the reception area was also pitch black and completely deserted.
Even if there was a power outage, shouldn't someone be on duty at the entrance?
Roy felt like something was seriously wrong.
"Wade, call your cousin right now!"
Wade had also sensed that something was off, and his hands were shaking as he pulled out his phone.
He quickly redialed the number, but the call connected and was immediately hung up.
"My cousin hung up!"
Just as he finished speaking, Roy and Wade simultaneously heard a woman's scream coming from inside the nursing home.
"Something's happened!"
Roy immediately pulled out his Smith & Wesson M625 revolver.
"Whoa, Roy, you really do carry a gun everywhere!"
Roy glared at Wade. Was this really the time for that?
"America's so dangerous, you think you can go out without a gun?"
Wade nodded repeatedly.
"You're absolutely right, I'm definitely buying a gun when we get back! Roy, what do we do now?"
"I have to get that zopiclone tonight. Do you know where the pharmacy is in this nursing home?"
"Yeah, my cousin took me a few times. But if there aren't any lights, we probably won't be able to see the labels on the medicine."
Wade was still pretty loyal. Hearing what Roy said, he didn't bring up the idea of running away.
"You're right, let's go back to the car and get a flashlight."
Roy led Wade back to the beat-up yellow Chevrolet Camaro, took two flashlights from the trunk, and also quietly conjured up his Remington M870 from his inventory.
"Uh, Roy, you've got two guns now, could you maybe give me one?"
"Do you even know how to use a gun?"
"I went hunting with my dad once when I was little."
Roy rolled his eyes.
"With your skills, I'm more worried you'll accidentally shoot me! Stop talking nonsense and just take me to the pharmacy!"
Roy didn't know what had happened at the Gospel Nursing Home, but he was sure it wasn't anything good. To avoid getting caught up in whatever was going on, he planned to grab the medicine and leave.
Deeper inside the nursing home, Roy and Wade found the hallways in disarray, and they even saw bloodstains.
It looked like there had been a fight here, but the strange thing was that Roy hadn't seen anyone in the several patient rooms they passed.
What on earth had happened here?
"How much further?"
"It's just around the next corner."
At that moment, Roy heard the sound of something being chopped.
"Is someone chopping down a door?"
Rounding the corner, Roy saw a burly man using a short-handled axe to hack at a wooden door.
The guy was covered in bloodstains, which was clearly not normal.
"He's chopping at the pharmacy door!"
Wade's voice caught the strongman's attention. The man stopped swinging the axe and looked at Roy and Wade.
Only then did Roy get a clear look at the strongman's face. It was truly hideous.
"Ugh! How can someone be so ugly! The stuff I get when I have diarrhea is prettier than this guy!"
Wade habitually made a rude comment, but Roy had to admit, the guy had a point.
The strongman's face was absolutely repulsive.
Wade's words seemed to have enraged the deformed strongman, who raised his short-handled axe and charged towards them.
Without a word, Roy raised his Remington M870 and pulled the trigger.
Texas has a "stand your ground" law, meaning that people don't have to retreat when confronted by someone else and can use deadly force if they believe their life is in danger. In such cases, killing someone is considered self-defense.
Bang!
The muzzle flash from the shotgun briefly illuminated the dark hallway. Most of the buckshot hit the deformed giant's body.
However, to Wade's great surprise, the deformed giant on the other side only staggered slightly before continuing to charge towards them.
Roy wasn't too surprised. Having been in the American Horror Story world for a few months, he had already seen too many monsters with high physical stats. Clearly, this deformed person was one of them.
He just didn't know which horror movie this guy was from.
"R-R-Roy, what do we do?"
Watching the deformed giant getting closer and closer, Wade started to panic.
If Roy hadn't been standing calmly in front of him, he probably would have bolted already.
"Hmph, let's just wing it!"
Facing the deformed giant who had rushed right up to him, Roy showed no fear. He ducked under the incoming axe, then swept his leg, directly tripping the man.
After all, this wasn't a boxing match. Roy didn't need to follow any boxing rules. He just needed to take the guy down as quickly as possible.
The deformed giant fell backward, completely unprepared, and was instantly stunned.
Roy quickly snatched the short-handled axe from his hand and tossed it to Wade, then pressed the muzzle of the Remington M870 against the man's forehead and pulled the trigger repeatedly.
Firing a shotgun at point-blank range like that could blast through thin steel plates. Even if the deformed giant was much tougher than an ordinary person, his head was still blown apart like a watermelon.
White brain matter mixed with blood splattered all over the floor.
"Ugh! Roy, how can you be so calm?"
"If you had defeated several perverted killers like I have, you wouldn't panic either."
Hearing this, Wade's face lit up with anticipation. What boy doesn't dream of being a hero?
"Really? Can I do it too?"
"No, you'd just get killed by a perverted killer."
Wade, feeling deflated, was speechless. But Roy had already started walking towards the pharmacy, so he had no choice but to follow.
The pharmacy was probably one of the most important places in the hospital. So, while the other rooms had wooden doors, the pharmacy had two doors: an iron door on the outside and a wooden door on the inside.
That's why the deformed giant hadn't been able to break through the door even after hacking at it for so long with the short-handled axe.
"Why was that deformed guy chopping at the pharmacy door? Did he want to get some drugs to get high?"
Wade's mouth had only been quiet for a moment before it started moving again.
Roy could roughly guess what the deformed man's purpose was, but he didn't say it out loud.
"Stand back, I'm going to break down the door!"
With that, Roy fired his Remington M870 at the lock of the iron door.
The deformed giant had hacked at the door for ages with his short-handled axe without opening it, but Roy had taken care of it with just one shot. That was the power of technology.
Actually, Roy could have picked the lock, but he didn't think it was necessary to show off that skill, and using the shotgun to open the door was faster anyway.
Then, Roy did the same thing, using the shotgun to open the lock of the wooden door inside, and kicked the pharmacy door open.
"Ah—"
Suddenly, someone inside the pharmacy attacked Roy with a glass bottle. Roy instinctively raised his foot and kicked out, sending the person flying backward.
"Wait, that's my cousin Seth!"
"Cough, cough, cough! Wade? Is that you?"
Earlier, Roy had guessed that there might be someone hiding in the pharmacy, which was why he had attracted the deformed man's attack. But he hadn't expected that person to be Wade's cousin, Seth.
"Why wouldn't it be me? We agreed to come get the medicine!"
Seth slapped himself in the face.
"You're right, I guess I was just a little freaked out."
Wade helped Seth up.
"Cousin Seth, what exactly happened at the nursing home?"
"I'm not sure either. After I got your call tonight, I came to the pharmacy to start getting things ready. Then, for some reason, the nursing home suddenly lost power. I left the pharmacy to see what was going on, and I saw those deformed people who were originally locked up in the cells starting to kill everyone!
Phew, luckily I ran fast and got back to the pharmacy to lock the door, otherwise you wouldn't have seen me! Oh, right, someone called me just now, which caused me to be noticed by the deformed person outside. Was that you who called?"
Seth looked at Wade, whose expression was a bit awkward.
"Yeah, I did make the call, but we also took care of that deformed guy at the door!"
The latest novel is first published at [website address]!
Wade shamelessly included himself in the ranks of those who had killed the deformed person, even more brazen than someone claiming to have scored 83 points in total.
"Alright, let's not talk about useless things. Is the zopiclone I need ready?"
"Of course, I've already divided it into portions."
At this point, Wade's eyes darted around.
"Cousin Seth, besides you, how many other people are still alive in the nursing home?"
"I don't know, maybe everyone else is dead. Wait, are you thinking...?"
Seth noticed Wade's expression and immediately understood what he was getting at.
"Hehe, why not? All these drugs would be worth a lot of money if we sold them!"
As expected of Mr. Wild Card, Wade had come up with a great idea to make some money.
Medicine in America is very expensive, especially for those who don't have health insurance.
If they could take the drugs from the pharmacy out, they could easily make at least a hundred thousand US dollars.
Hearing this, Seth hesitated. The crime they were considering was vastly different from secretly selling drugs before.
They could end up in prison for decades, ruining their bright futures.
But the sight of all those greenbacks was just too tempting for Seth to resist.
"What if the Amalgamated company behind Gospel Nursing Home investigates?"
Roy, who hadn't spoken until now, finally said something.
"I think we should do it. If Amalgamated really investigates, someone will help us cover it up. They just need to inflate the value of the lost drugs tenfold."
Seth looked at Roy in shock. He hadn't expected him to say something like that, but he had to admit that the master of balancing the books would definitely not miss this opportunity.
After thinking for a long time, Seth finally decided to go for it.
"Okay, I'm in."
"Cousin Seth, hurry up and pick out the valuable drugs. Roy's Chevrolet Camaro can't hold that much stuff!"
"I know, I definitely won't be stuffing any saline solution in there!"
Seth and Wade immediately started busying themselves, while Roy was left with nothing to do.
There was no way around it. Seth was a doctor and knew a lot about medicine, and Wade was a drug dealer who also knew something about the value of drugs. Only Roy knew nothing.
However, since Roy was going to get a share of the money, he couldn't just stand around doing nothing. His job was to ensure the safety of Seth and Wade.
"Someone's coming!"
Roy heard some movement and guessed that the sound of the shotgun earlier had attracted someone.
Hearing this, Seth panicked a little.
"What do we do? Should we run now?"
Roy saw that the bags next to Seth and Wade weren't full yet, so he asked, "How much longer until you guys are done?"
Wade answered Roy, even while quickly stuffing drugs into bags.
"Ten minutes, give us ten more minutes and we can go!"
"Okay, I'll give you ten minutes."
With that, Roy walked out of the pharmacy and closed the door behind him.
Seth looked at this scene in shock and stammered as he asked his cousin, "Wade, isn't your friend afraid of death?"
Wade glared at his cousin.
"Roy's not an idiot. He's really strong in a fight. He must be confident to go out there! Instead of worrying about him, you should hurry up and work! If we're not done in ten minutes, Roy will definitely beat us up! He can knock down a cow with one punch!"
Hearing this, Seth shivered and quickly focused on his work.
Roy didn't know that he was seen as so terrifying by Wade. When he walked out of the pharmacy, he saw four or five deformed people surrounding it.
These guys, both male and female, were all burly and hideous-looking. They held various weapons in their hands and looked at Roy with a kind of greedy gaze, like they were looking at food.
"Hmph! I hate the way you're looking at me! Take a closer look!"
Roy released the power of the Shadow of Fear, and a terrifying wave of fear surged forth.
In an instant, all five deformed people were plunged into terror. Although their ugly, deformed faces made it impossible to discern their emotions, Roy could confirm their current state through the feedback of fear he received.
Now's the time!
These deformed people were very resistant to bullets, so Roy didn't waste time and money using the shotgun. After all, 12-gauge shotgun shells cost money.
He took the chainsaw sword out of his inventory. Even without the enhancement from the Son of the Devil transformation, this weapon could easily saw through flesh.
"Die!"
Easily bisecting the nearest deformed person at the waist, Roy then walked towards the second deformed person.
However, at this moment, the remaining four deformed people had already broken free from the effects of Roy's Shadow of Fear. The ability to use Shadow of Fear consecutively had a chance of failure.
Fortunately, Roy also had the ability of the Shadow of Desire. He hadn't tested this ability yet, so today was a good opportunity to try it out.
He released the Shadow of Desire towards the two deformed people furthest away. However, as soon as he used it, Roy began to regret it.
Because after those two hulking figures paused for a moment, they dropped their weapons and started passionately kissing each other. Can you imagine how impactful that scene was?
Two strong men around two meters tall, and incredibly ugly to boot. Roy almost threw up when he saw it.
Those two were even starting to tear each other's clothes off!
Roy realized for the first time that his own skills could actually harm him.
He quickly turned his face away before his stomach felt any worse.
At this moment, the remaining two deformed people, one male and one female, had already rushed in front of him. One was swinging a crude mace, while the other was attacking with a long drill bit they had found somewhere.
Roy easily cut through the two deformed people's weapons with his chainsaw sword, and then sawed off their heads.
After glancing at the appearance of the two deformed people in the distance, Roy dry-heaved again.
"Fuck! Looks like the Shadow of Desire is powerful, but I can't just use it randomly! Dammit, just die!"
Chapter 99: Trap Master
【Ding! Obtained the deformed family's fate treasure chest! Open it?】
The battle ended, and Roy hadn't suffered any physical injuries, but the mental trauma was immense. Right now, only the warmth of a good night's sleep could soothe the impact on his heart.
However, getting the fate treasure chest did lift Roy's spirits a bit.
This fate treasure chest was actually family-based, requiring the entire deformed family to be present to obtain it. This was the first time Roy had encountered something like this.
After managing to calm down, Roy realized that exactly ten minutes had passed.
Wade and Seth emerged from the pharmacy, each carrying a large bag.
"Roy, we got it!"
"Good job. Where's my Zopiclone?"
"Here!"
Wade tossed a well-packaged large bag of Zopiclone to Roy.
This amount seemed a bit excessive. Even if Neidy and Nancy ate Zopiclone like it was rice, it would last them for months.
But American drug packaging was always quite generous.
In China, a bottle of 100 pills would be considered a lot, but here in America, a bottle of 1,000 pills was the standard starting point.
"Roy, consider this your share."
Roy put away the Zopiclone.
"There's no need for that. I'm not short on cash right now. Just deduct it when we're splitting the money later."
As soon as money was mentioned, Wade and Seth both smiled.
Especially Seth, who had been a bit reluctant earlier, was now smiling the widest.
"Maybe I can pay off my student loans early!"
Alright, another poor American being driven crazy by student loans. Even doctors, who were considered high-income earners, were being pushed to such desperate measures.
After securing the drugs, Roy and his group immediately began to evacuate the Gospel Sanitarium.
Roy wasn't interested in the secrets behind this asylum. Besides, he had already gained a lot this time, so it was better to quickly return to Waterfall Town with the Zopiclone.
Just as the three of them reached the outer lobby, only a few steps away from leaving the asylum, Roy suddenly heard the sound of his Chevrolet Camaro's horn.
Roy instantly felt something was wrong. He stopped Wade and Seth.
"Wait! Why did my car horn just go off?"
Wade scratched his head, not thinking too much of it.
"Maybe it accidentally went off after you locked it with the alarm on?"
"I didn't even turn on the alarm!"
That was the problem. Roy hadn't turned on the alarm, yet the car horn had sounded. Considering the events that had just transpired at the Gospel Sanitarium, he couldn't help but overthink it.
Seth seemed to have thought of a possibility and suddenly became nervous.
"Could it be the police?"
Roy didn't believe the American police would arrive so quickly, but someone else had definitely entered the Gospel Sanitarium.
"Let's find out."
Roy picked up an empty bottle from the ground and tossed it towards the asylum's lobby.
Crash!
The sound of shattering glass was immediately followed by a burst of gunfire. The firepower was quite intense, with at least a dozen automatic weapons firing.
"Cease fire! Someone inside threw a glass bottle! Catch them!"
"Run!"
Without Roy needing to say anything, Wade and Seth had already turned around and started sprinting.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck! Who the hell are they?"
Wade was so scared he was about to shit his pants. As a high school student, he had never seen anything like this.
"I don't know, but it's definitely not the police!"
Even the American police would at least give a warning before emptying their magazines, but the people outside had opened fire without even getting a clear look.
Clearly, these people weren't here for rescue or investigation; they were here to eliminate them!
Rapid footsteps came from behind them. Those people were following, but their advance wasn't too fast.
Occasionally, someone would fire a shot, but Roy and the others were lucky. Plus, with Seth, who knew the place well, as their guide, no one had been injured so far.
However, Seth soon started to struggle to keep up.
Wade and Roy were young, but Seth was already in his thirties and didn't exercise much, so his stamina naturally couldn't keep up.
"N-no, I can't anymore! I... I can't run!"
Seth was somewhat desperate. Just a few minutes ago, he was still fantasizing about paying off his student loans early, but now he was facing a life-or-death decision.
"Roy, what do we do?"
Wade was also a bit desperate. Although his physical fitness was better than Seth's, it wasn't by much.
Among the three of them, Roy was actually the only one who could rely on his own physical abilities to escape.
Feeling that the pursuers were still relatively far away, Roy stopped and thought for a moment.
"You guys quickly find a place to hide! I'll go and draw those guys away! No matter what happens, don't come out until I come to find you!"
Seth was still a bit panicked. After all, he wasn't very familiar with Roy and was very worried that Roy would leave him behind.
But Wade was different. Roy had saved him once before in Ambrosia, so he immediately grabbed Roy's hand.
"Roy, if we can get out of this, you're my boss!"
Wade's words were quite sincere, although Roy didn't really need a subordinate like him.
"Hurry up and hide! I hear footsteps!"
With that, Roy went to create some noise to attract the attention of the pursuers.
If he were to fight these fully armed pursuers head-on, even with Roy's current physique of 36, it would be very difficult to win.
The weapons these pursuers had were even better than those of the mercenaries sent by the Dark Web back then. They were all military-grade weapons.
And their tactical level was also superior, clearly a very professional mercenary team.
If it had been the Roy from before, facing this kind of mercenary team, he would have had no choice but to transform into the Son of the Devil and fight them. But now, he possessed a very special ability: Trap Master!
Let's switch to the victim's perspective.
"He's over there! Don't be reckless, maintain formation!"
The mercenary leader was very calm and didn't rashly order his team members to speed up.
Ahead was a corner of a corridor. This was the hospital ward area of the asylum. The walls and floors were covered in blood, and overturned furniture and hospital beds were scattered everywhere, as if it had been hit by a looting spree.
"Be careful, report any suspicious situations immediately!"
Including the leader himself, a total of twenty-four mercenaries began to spread out, cautiously searching for Roy in the complex ward area.
But no matter how careful they were, accidents were bound to happen.
One mercenary stepped on a mat. Unexpectedly, the mat suddenly slipped, causing the mercenary to lose his balance and fall directly.
"Jamie, are you alright?"
The fallen mercenary didn't get up for a long time. The teammate beside him quickly helped him up, only to find a white dagger sticking out of his chest.
"Jamie!"
"What happened?"
The leader inquired over the communication system.
"Jamie slipped and fell on a dagger. His heart was pierced, and he's..."
The leader frowned tightly. The sudden loss of a team member made him feel vaguely uneasy. Jamie's death seemed like a very unfortunate coincidence, but was that really the case?
"Are you sure it's not a trap?"
The team member checked. He didn't notice the long black hair tangled around the mat.
"It shouldn't be."
"Be careful, continue moving!"
Despite the leader's repeated requests for his team members to be careful, "accidents" continued to happen one after another.
First, a mercenary searching a ward saw a white figure float past the window.
Startled, this guy didn't notice a strand of black hair at his feet. He tripped over the hair and his neck snapped when it hit a cabinet.
Immediately afterward, another mercenary heard the noise and came to investigate. He was too hasty when entering the room, and his head went straight into a loop of black hair. He was strangled. He pulled out his dagger, wanting to cut the hair and save himself.
But this strand of black hair looked very thin, yet it was extremely tough. He cut at it for a long time with the dagger but couldn't sever it.
By the time the other mercenaries found this guy, he had already suffocated to death.

Then, two mercenaries found a door that was slightly ajar. Being relatively cautious, the two men hid on either side of the door and carefully pushed it open.
This choice was correct. As the door fully opened, a nail board fell from the ceiling.
If anyone had been standing in the doorway at this time, they would have been hit in the face by this nail board.
The two mercenaries breathed a sigh of relief and began to report the situation to the leader.
"Boss, we found a trap."
"Be careful!"
"We will."
While answering the leader, this mercenary pushed the nail board aside and walked into the room. Unexpectedly, this nail board was connected to another trap.
When the nail board was pushed aside, the black hair connected to it was pulled, and the black hair was connected to a shotgun hanging on the wall. The muzzle was aimed directly at the doorway.
Bang!
The mercenary had just finished speaking when his head was blown apart by the shotgun. The mercenary behind him was startled and took several steps back, slipping on a puddle of water.
This guy's luck was still pretty good. He didn't break his neck like the previous mercenary, but when he looked up at the ceiling, he saw a sharp piece of glass falling down.
"Ah—"
The scream abruptly stopped.
...
The mercenary leader felt increasingly uneasy. The number of voices in his earpiece was dwindling. He quickly recalled his teammates to regroup.
At this point, the leader realized that out of the 24-man mercenary squad plus himself, only 13 remained. Eleven mercenaries had lost contact in just over ten minutes.
Although losing contact didn't necessarily mean death, the leader had already prepared for the worst.
"Team B, Team B, respond if you hear me."
"Team B received, what's the matter, Team A?"
"Team A encountered a trap ambush in the ward area. Our casualties are approaching half. We need immediate support!"
"Roger that. Team B will move towards your position after placing the timed bombs."
There was another squad? And they were planting timed bombs?
Hearing this information, Roy knew he couldn't continue to rely on the ghost mask to hide and set traps.
Thirteen mercenaries remained, which shouldn't be too much of a problem, as long as he could draw their initial fire.
At this moment, the survivors of Mercenary Team A surrounded their leader, cautiously guarding their surroundings. They didn't dare to move at all, fearing that any movement would trigger some trap and they would follow in the footsteps of their dead comrades.
Suddenly, the mercenaries heard a very strange sound, like someone making a suppressed noise from deep within their throat.
"Gurgle... gurgle..."
"Did you guys hear something?"
"I think I heard it too!"
The mercenaries looked towards the direction of the sound. They were all wearing night vision devices and could easily see in the dark.
And so, the 13 mercenaries saw an unidentified creature with a bizarre, unnatural posture crawling towards them from the depths of the corridor.
Well, because they couldn't see its face clearly, the mercenaries could only describe this thing as an unidentified creature in their minds.
The mercenaries, who were already quite frightened, couldn't help but immediately pull their triggers at the unidentified creature. However, to their shock, all the bullets passed right through the creature's body.
Immediately afterward, several mercenaries suddenly noticed some strange black hairs hanging down from the ceiling. Looking up, they discovered that the ceiling was covered in black hair without them realizing it.
This situation increased the mercenaries' confusion, but it was only confusion.
Neither of the two female ghosts were the type that could instantly kill upon sight. Their curses usually needed a few days to accumulate power before they could reap their victims.
But it didn't matter. Sadako and Kayako's appearance was just to attract the mercenaries' attention.
The real reaper was Roy, who had transformed into the Son of the Devil.
Buzz... buzz... buzz...
The piercing sound of a chainsaw rang out. Team A's leader subconsciously looked towards the source of the sound and saw a man covered in black aura appear. He was holding a huge, flaming chainsaw greatsword in his hand.
"Ah—"
Screams rose and fell, then quickly faded into silence.
When the 24 mercenaries from Team B arrived in the ward area, they saw limbs and internal organs scattered all over the ground. The scene was like hell.
"Damn it! Team A is completely wiped out! Retreat immediately!"
Team B's leader realized the situation was bad and quickly ordered his team members to retreat the way they came.
But at this moment, several grenades were thrown at Team B's mercenaries from different directions.
"Watch out for grenades!"
Continuous explosions shattered the silence of the Gospel Sanitarium.
The mercenaries were all very experienced in combat. At the first moment after the leader issued the warning, they took tactical evasive maneuvers. Plus, their formation was already relatively spread out, so only a few mercenaries were injured, and there were no fatalities.
However, Team B's originally perfect formation was completely disrupted, giving Roy an opportunity.
He still used the two female ghosts from the cursed double daggers as the vanguard. Sadako and Kayako were immune to physical damage, making them the perfect bait.
"Assemble, assemble! Don't scatter! Ah—"
Team B's leader was directing the chaotic team members, trying to restore order. Unfortunately for him, Roy targeted him immediately.
To create greater chaos, the mercenaries' command system had to be eliminated.
So, after saying the above sentence, Team B's leader was decapitated by Roy with his chainsaw sword.
Several mercenaries spotted Roy and immediately focused their fire on him.
Roy used his huge chainsaw sword to block his vital areas, then quickly released the effect of Fear Shadow, instantly throwing these mercenaries into chaos.
Nevertheless, Roy was still hit by several bullets. Fortunately, in his Son of the Devil state, his defense was even more terrifying, and these bullets could only be considered superficial wounds.
Roy quickly rushed towards these mercenaries, his chainsaw sword operating at high speed, cutting them all into pieces as easily as cutting tofu.
"He's over here!"
"Quick, fire!"
More and more mercenaries spotted Roy, but because of the interference of the two female ghosts and the fact that their leader had been killed, they couldn't form an effective organization.
"Face your fear!"

Chapter 100: Zombie Mode
Ten minutes later, the gunfire ceased.
Roy stood amidst a pile of corpses, covered in blood. He wasn't in great shape; his clothes were riddled with bullet holes, and his left arm was fractured from a close-range shotgun blast.
However, he had managed to eliminate all the mercenaries, so he considered the cost acceptable.
The only troublesome part was digging the bullets embedded in his skin out. Time was also of the essence, as he didn't know when the time bomb would detonate.
So, Roy decided to forgo treating his injuries. He'd just let the bleeding continue; he wouldn't die right away anyway.
Instead, he gathered the mercenaries' weapons and ammunition. These were all good items, and even if he didn't need them himself, he could sell them.
During this, Roy noticed that all the mercenaries' uniforms had the same logo, which read "Black Mountain Military Company."
After collecting his spoils, Roy immediately went to find Wade and Seth.
"We can go!"
The cousins were startled when they saw Roy covered in blood.
"Boss Roy, are you alright?"
Wade still showed some concern for Roy's well-being.
"I won't die just yet! Let's get out of here quickly. Those bastards planted a time bomb in the nursing home, it could go off at any moment!"
Hearing about the time bomb, the cousins didn't dare delay any longer and grabbed their bags of medicine to run.
"Boss Roy, what about those mercenaries?"
"I took care of all of them."
Wade and Seth were filled with awe and respect, especially after they walked out of the Gospel Nursing Home and saw seven or eight armored vehicles. They knew then just how much Roy's words meant.
"Be careful, there might still be some mercenaries left!"
Just as he finished speaking, several ambushing mercenaries opened fire on Roy and the others.
These remaining mercenaries must have learned about the changes inside the nursing home through their radios, so they were lying in wait outside, ready to ambush anyone who came out.
However, what these mercenaries didn't know was that their positions had already been sensed by Roy due to the fear they were emitting.
The moment the mercenaries poked their heads out, Roy had already drawn his Smith & Wesson M625 revolver and pulled the trigger.
Six remaining mercenaries, six revolver bullets, not a single one wasted.
Even after Roy had run out of bullets and the mercenaries had fallen to the ground, Wade and Seth hadn't even reacted yet.
"What are you guys standing around for? Get in the car!"
It wasn't until Roy got into the Chevrolet Camaro, started the engine, and called out to Wade and Seth that the two of them snapped out of their daze.
"Boss Roy, your gun skills are amazing! Even the cowboys in movies aren't as good as you!"
As soon as Wade got into the car, he started flattering Roy, showering him with all sorts of compliments.

"Stop with the flattery!"
Roy was certain that he hadn't locked the Chevrolet Camaro. So where had that honking sound he'd heard earlier come from?
It couldn't have been the six remaining mercenaries outside who were bored and decided to open the Chevrolet Camaro and honk the horn, could it?
With this question in mind, Roy drove away from the Gospel Nursing Home.
Less than three minutes after driving away, a deafening explosion came from behind them. In the rearview mirror, they could see a huge blaze of fire, and the whole mountain shook.
Those mercenaries' bomb had a considerable yield!
Seeing this scene, Wade and Seth were both a little worried.
"What kind of people were those mercenaries? How could they play things so big?"
"I don't know, I only know they're from a company called Black Mountain Military."
Hearing this, Seth paused for a moment. Roy saw his strange expression through the rearview mirror.
"Seth, do you know something about this?"
Seth hesitated for a moment but decided to tell them what he knew, after all, the three of them were in this together now.
"Black Mountain Military Company was hired by the Gospel Nursing Home. They used to work as guards there."
Sure enough, these mercenaries hadn't appeared out of thin air. This meant that there was a huge secret behind the Gospel Nursing Home, otherwise, they wouldn't have needed to send 54 fully armed and well-trained mercenaries to destroy the nursing home.
Wade curiously asked his cousin, "Cousin, what exactly was hidden in the Gospel Nursing Home? Why did they have to use mercenaries and explosives to cover everything up?"
Seth was silent. Having worked at the Gospel Nursing Home for three years, he had vaguely sensed something was amiss.
Roy answered Wade for Seth.
"My guess is human experiments."
Seth looked at Roy in shock.
"How did you know?"
"Hehe, what other tricks can the American government come up with? This kind of plot has been in movies more than once or twice."
Wade and Seth nodded.
Just as Roy said, the American government was far ahead in terms of being inhumane.
You might think the stories in movies are fake, but in reality, the American government's actions were even more outrageous. Things like sterilizing Black people, injecting children with smallpox virus, and conducting radiation experiments on cancer patients.
There was nothing you couldn't imagine that the American government wouldn't do.
That's why the ordinary people in America never trusted the government. Even when the government wanted to spray fire retardant during the Los Angeles fire, the people refused.
Who knew what kind of things were mixed into that fire retardant.
"Seth, I think it's best if you keep a low profile for a while after we get back. The nursing home might not know about me and Wade, but it would be bad if they found out you didn't die in the nursing home."
"You're right, I'll pack my bags and go abroad to lay low as soon as I get back!"
Seth didn't dare gamble on the integrity of the Gospel Nursing Home and Black Mountain Military Company. Going abroad was the best choice.
The rest of the journey was quite dull. Seth and Wade were both preoccupied with their thoughts and a little absent-minded, so no one spoke to Roy.
Let's switch the scene to Jennifer's house. At this time, the three girls were chatting casually.
It was mostly Jennifer and Nancy talking, while Needy was playing games on her laptop, only occasionally chiming in with a word or two.
Well, as a genius hacker, Needy naturally enjoyed playing computer games, and she was quite skilled at it.
If she had started streaming ten years later, she might have even become an e-sports goddess.
As they chatted, the girls' topic turned to Roy, just like how boys' topics were either politics or girls.
Girls' topics were similar, either gossip or boys.
"That's strange, Roy hasn't come back yet after so long?"
Jennifer calculated the time and realized that Roy had been gone for quite a while.
"Maybe something happened on the way?"
Nancy was still thinking positively.
"Logically, Roy should have been back half an hour ago, right? Could the car have broken down?"
Jennifer patted Needy on the shoulder.
"Needy, do you think we should call and ask?"
However, Needy didn't react at all.
"Needy, what's wrong?"
Jennifer pushed Needy in surprise, only to see her body slump and fall onto the bed.
Needy had fallen asleep without them noticing!
Needy was playing the recently popular shooting game CS. The various gunshots coming from her headphones made her feel like she was on a real battlefield.
Suddenly, the gunshots in the game disappeared, making Needy think she had lost connection.
Waterfall Town was just a small town, and fiber optic cables hadn't been laid yet, so Needy still had to use a dial-up connection via a phone line to play online games.
This type of internet connection wasn't very stable, and packet loss or disconnections often occurred, which Needy had gotten used to.
However, Needy found it strange that the current situation was different from a normal disconnection.
In CS, if you got disconnected, your character would stay in place and repeat the previous actions, but right now, the character Needy was controlling could still shoot normally.
Frowning slightly, Needy opened the data panel. In this game, she was on the police team, and all the other players had disappeared, but there was still one player on the terrorist team.
And this player's name was very special; it was actually Freddy.
Needy's heart skipped a beat. She immediately took off her headphones and looked for Jennifer and Nancy, only to find that the room was empty, and she was the only one left.
"Jennifer, Nancy, where are you? Don't scare me!"
No one responded. Needy realized she had fallen into a nightmare, and her fear began to grow.
The latest novel is first published at [website address]!
At this moment, a sexy and magnetic male voice came from her ear.
"Oh, darling, are you looking for me?"
It was Roy's voice, and Needy was very surprised and happy.
However, when Needy turned her head to look at the person speaking, it was indeed wearing the clothes Roy had worn today, but the face was a rotten and ugly one.
"Hehe, are you surprised, little Needy?"
There was no surprise, only shock!
Needy screamed and started to run, but when she opened the door and ran out, she found herself in the classic warehouse map from the CS game.
Needy was very familiar with this map, so she was a bit confused when she saw herself appear at the police spawn point.
There was also an M4A1 on the ground. Without thinking, Needy picked it up, not even considering that she had never actually used a gun in real life.
"Hehehe, little Needy, here I come!"
Freddy's lewd laughter came from the distance. Needy frantically shot at Freddy.
Although she was a skilled shooter in the game, she had never used a real gun, which resulted in Needy's shooting skills being comparable to drawing an outline of a person.
However, Needy was lucky. The last bullet successfully hit Freddy, but he quickly respawned in the distance and continued walking towards her.
"Don't struggle anymore, little darling!"
Needy bit her lip and continued shooting, reloading her magazine according to the game's mechanics. She firmly believed that Roy would appear to save her, so she had no intention of giving up.
Just as Needy entered the real-life CS and started playing zombie mode, Jennifer and Nancy outside the dream were in a panic.
Jennifer had tried various methods to wake Needy, including slapping her face, pinching her thigh, and splashing her with cold water, but she couldn't wake Needy up no matter what she did.
"How could this happen? Nancy, have you encountered this kind of situation before?"
Nancy's face was also full of helplessness.
"Freddy's power is increasing, so he's able to prevent Needy from waking up."
"Then how did you defeat Freddy last time?"
Nancy opened her mouth, but in reality, her ability to defeat Freddy was largely due to the protagonist's aura helping her. She wasn't even sure if she could succeed again.
"I, I don't know!"
Jennifer was speechless. At this point, she could only rely on herself.
Closing her eyes, Jennifer began to contact the other soul within her body.
"Ms. Lilith, can you help me?"
Lilith quickly replied to Jennifer.
"I can't deal with Freddy, at most I can let you enter Needy's dream as well."
Jennifer replied without hesitation.
"Okay! Then let me enter Needy's dream too!"
"Are you sure? Your witch abilities are powerful, but you won't be able to defeat Freddy in a dream. This will only put yourself in danger as well."
"No matter what, I can't let Needy get hurt!"
When Jennifer opened her eyes again, Nancy noticed that her aura was different. She had become charming and seductive, and even Nancy, as a woman, felt that she was incredibly attractive.
"Jennifer, what are you..."
"Shhh! Don't interrupt me."
"Jennifer" extended her finger and touched Needy's forehead, then began chanting in a language Nancy couldn't understand at all, like some kind of spell.
This appearance of "Jennifer" made Nancy a little scared, and she began to pray in her heart for Roy to come back quickly.
On the other side, in Needy's dream, she had run out of ammunition and only had a USP pistol left in her hand, forcing her to constantly hide in the warehouse map.
Freddy wasn't in a hurry to kill Needy. Instead, he was constantly playing a cat-and-mouse game, making Needy produce fear, which further strengthened his power.
"Hahaha... little sweetheart, let Uncle Freddy give you a good pampering!"
Amidst the lewd laughter, Needy finally collapsed to the ground, exhausted.
Freddy felt that the time was right, so he walked up to Needy, ready to finish her off with his classic bladed glove.
"Goodbye, my cute little sweetheart!"
Just at this moment, Jennifer suddenly appeared in front of Needy, blocking Freddy's attack for her, but her stomach was also pierced by the bladed glove.
The sudden change made Freddy frown. He pulled out his bladed glove and took a few steps back.
"Jennifer!"
Needy was very shocked and quickly helped the fallen Jennifer, who had fallen backward.
"Needy, don't worry about me, I'm fine!"
"No, how can you be fine with such a serious injury?"
Needy looked down and saw that Jennifer's stomach was already healing rapidly. A few seconds later, apart from the hole in her clothes and her pale face, there was no sign that she had been injured.
This situation left Needy speechless for a moment, but Freddy, who was not far away, saw through something.
"So, you're a witch, how interesting! Speaking of which, I haven't tasted a witch yet, I wonder what the difference is compared to ordinary people!"
Freddy wiggled his bladed glove and slowly began to walk towards Jennifer and Needy.
Every step felt like it was stepping on their hearts, making them very nervous.
Outside the dream, a large hole suddenly appeared in Jennifer's body, and blood instantly stained the quilt red, scaring Nancy.
Nancy knew that Freddy had attacked Jennifer, which made her feel helpless and unsure of what to do.
Fortunately, after "Jennifer" frowned slightly, the wound on her stomach quickly healed, making Nancy wonder if she was the one who was dreaming.
Just then, Nancy heard the sound of a car outside the window.
In a small town like Waterfall Town, there would be no cars driving on the road late at night, so Nancy knew it was Roy who had returned. She quickly leaned on the windowsill and called out.
"Roy, Needy has been dragged into a nightmare by Freddy!"
"What did you say!"
