Chapter 57: Back in the Slammer
🕑 Added 2025-05-11 18:05:24 +0000 UTC"A full half a million dollars! That's my life savings! What do you say, pretty sincere, huh?"
Five hundred thousand dollars – that was actually quite tempting!
But Roy knew Chucky would never honestly make a deal with him. It was all just a trap, and whether that money even existed was questionable.
So, Roy deliberately put on an interested expression to see what tricks the doll was playing.
"Sounds kind of good."
However, Roy's expression not only fooled Chucky but also Kelly.
The blonde girl hugged her younger brother Andy tightly. Although she verbally expressed dislike for her new brother, when danger struck, she still took on the responsibility of an older sister.
"Roy, are you serious?"
"Shut up! It's not your turn to talk! Tell me, where's that half a million dollars?"
Chucky gave an evil grin, very pleased with Roy's reaction.
"Come over here, I'll tell you in private."
Roy actually walked towards Chucky's location, but he never lowered his gun.
Chucky was currently standing against a wall. Next to him was an open door, and from the dark void, it seemed to lead to the basement.
Roy stood in front of Chucky, only a step away from the doll.
"Can you talk now?"
"That money is hidden in... take him out!"
The look in Chucky's eyes suddenly turned ferocious, and then a middle-aged man rushed out from the open door beside him.
This middle-aged man's eyes were white, and he was covered in blood. Clearly not a normal living person, he let out an unintelligible roar and lunged at Roy.
Was this the ghost doll Chucky's backup plan?
The middle-aged man should be Kelly's father. After being ambushed by Chucky, he was turned into a living corpse.
Firearms weren't suitable weapons for dealing with such undead creatures, as some of them didn't have vital organs.
Roy chose to use a butterfly step to easily dodge the middle-aged man's attack and then punched him to the ground.
Immediately after, Roy dragged the middle-aged man's feet, threw him back into the basement, and closed the door.
Living corpses were indeed tough, but they were also very slow. As long as one could overcome their inner fear, they could be easily dealt with.
So, Chucky never actually intended for the living corpse to fight Roy. His main purpose was to use it to distract Roy so he could escape.
However, Roy's combo was too fast. By the time the living corpse was dealt with, Chucky's little legs hadn't even carried him out of the room.
"What the f***!"
Roy pulled out Kayako's cursed dagger and threw it at Chucky. The dagger accurately pinned him to the floor.
"You little bastard, you seem a bit dishonest!"
"Misunderstanding! Misunderstanding! I'll tell you where the money is right now! As long as you let me go, you can make me suck your d***, no problem! Wait, what's with this dagger? My body!"
The curse power of the dagger began to take effect. Chucky felt a numbness and coldness in the area where he was stabbed.
Roy spat disdainfully and walked over to pull out the cursed dagger.
"You wish! Plenty of beautiful women want to service my 'stick shift'! Your only choice is to go straight to hell!"
Fear finally appeared on Chucky's face, allowing Roy to absorb a good amount of fear emotion.
The fear produced by such a killer was much more than that of an ordinary person.
"No, please let me go! I don't want to die! Ah—"
Unfortunately, Roy didn't want to listen to Chucky's nonsense anymore and directly used the cursed dagger to smash his brain.
\[Ding! Obtained Chucky the Killer Doll's Fate Treasure Chest! Open it?\]
Treasure chest acquired. Looks like he's really dead.
As soon as Chucky died, the barrier surrounding the guesthouse disappeared, and the middle-aged man living corpse that Roy had thrown back into the basement also became still.
"Roy, is it over this time?"
"It's over. Hurry up and call the hospital. Your mother needs immediate treatment."
As a tourist town, Snowfield Mountain Town had relatively complete basic facilities. Moreover, because there were more tourists this year, the hospital hadn't closed to prevent any incidents.
Five minutes later, the ambulance arrived at the scene and took Kelly's mother away. Thanks to Roy's earlier bandaging, she was able to hold on until then.
However, because someone had died – Kelly's father – Roy still had to be taken away for investigation.
Roy didn't resist arrest. After letting Heather know he was safe, he got into the police car.
This case was actually very bizarre. Normally, Roy should be the prime suspect, but several involved parties said that a toy doll was the real killer.
In the past, such situations were usually treated as mass hysteria, like with Andy and his mother.
The mother and son had been chased by Chucky the ghost doll before. In the end, both were sent to a foster home as mentally ill, and the mother and son never saw each other again.
Fortunately, this time the police found a toy doll at the scene with flesh and blood like a living person.
The police in Snowfield Mountain Town didn't dare to make a hasty conclusion and had to report the case, hoping that the state or federal authorities could provide guidance.
This meant Roy had to spend the night at the police station.
The next morning, Roy wanted to find a lawyer to bail him out. Coincidentally, Nica's father, Arthur, was a lawyer.
Arthur quickly arrived at the Snowfield Mountain police station. He wasn't alone; Nica and Jennifer came with him.
"Roy, are you alright?"
Jennifer and Nica were first concerned about Roy's safety.
"Do I look like I'm not alright?"
Roy spread his hands, his face relaxed. Last night, he had been beating up Chucky the whole time, and the doll was no match for him.
Hearing this, Jennifer and Nica both breathed a sigh of relief.
At this moment, Arthur spoke.
"Roy, what exactly happened? Why were you arrested?"
As a lawyer, Arthur first needed to understand the case to help.
Roy briefly described the situation last night, omitting some details about himself.
However, this content sounded like a fairy tale to Arthur. His first reaction was that Roy was on drugs.
"Roy, answer me honestly, have you been taking any hallucinogenic drugs?"
"Arthur, you can ask Nica and Jennifer, I never touch that stuff."
"Then why would you say something like this? How am I supposed to help you?"
At this point, Nica stepped forward to express her opinion.
"Dad, I believe Roy wouldn't lie. Maybe there really are killer toy dolls in this world!"
Arthur immediately felt like his precious little girl was letting him down.
"Nica, are you kidding me?"
Jennifer also chimed in to support.
"Uncle Arthur, there are indeed some incredible phenomena in this world. Do you remember my brother, Michael Myers?"
Hearing this, Arthur hesitated. He had indeed heard some rumors about Michael Myers.
"Alright, I'll try to get you bailed out first."
