That sounds a lot like Aristotle's discussion of slavery in his Politics. I don't think Plato ever really addressed slavery as such. But again - it's not really about slavery!

2 things that will prevent 100% of blisters: 1) apply leukotape before - it's like giving yourself an extra layer of super-tough skin, and it sticks like nothing else, and 2) double layer socks (thin inner layer) to mostly eliminate skin friction

It's been a while since I picked up a copy of Plato's Dialogues, but didn't Plato/Socrates think that slavery was just a natural fact of existence? e.g. "slave / free" is a category that is effectively determined, not a matter of choice -- i.e. neither good, nor bad. The poll question just strikes me as a poorly conceived, false-binary regardless of whether it is being asked in the context of the present, the United States in the 1860s or Athens in 400 BC.

If we accept the limit of "own slaves", "be slave", we probably would have been a slave owner. One of the constant complaints of slave owners prior to emancipation is that they thought emancipation would turn them into slaves. I'm guessing that most slaves did not think emancipation would turn them into slave owners. Surprisingly, it turns out that there is a third option (don't answer the poll).
